i usually use the fonts that are default in whatever the apps i use for writing! which is arial for docs and sans serif for evernote :)) i write in times new roman for uni related creative writing (because mla 🙄🙄) aaand i write in eb garamond and georgia too sometimes when i feel like making it look more fancy (this happens once in a lifetime), otherwise i don’t really care! (hands down tho if we talk favourites 👀👀 i do love eb garamond)

do i believe in the advice? yes and no. i do believe that even your most favourite passages or the ones crafted with the most care may not really serve a purpose sometimes and thus not really belong. i think there is just certain phrases you gotta sacrifice to make your work the best it can be. sometimes it may sound beautiful but it might be confusing or doesn’t fit or it’s literally just there because it sounds pretty! i think it’s fine if you don’t overdo it tho. you can leave some darlings alive, you don’t have to kill them all. usually i don’t per se “kill” the darling but rather cut and paste it into a document to keep it around in case i find a better place to put it in (maybe even another work) or a better way to phrase it that does add something to the story! it reaaally depends on the darling that needs to be “killed” tho. some darlings get killed no remorse, some get put aside to find another use for if i think they sound good and some stick around because i want them around. :)) so i guess you could say the cut and pasting to another document is their graveyard hshshs but they can get revived!! no darling is dead forever <3

i am not organised at all!!! because i can’t figure out how i want to organise it!! i have like 7 notebooks. all of them i started using for something specific and then i gave up in the process. for one wip i am working on (just as an example of how messy i am!!) i have one tiny notebook (i wanted to put all the character sheets in there…i didn’t), another notebook (for character sheets and goals/motivations/story purpose…also didn’t finish that), i have a notes app folder with…basically EVERYTHING (worldbuilding, characters etc,,, also all over the place), a document in evernote (for ??? oneshots of it?? kinda??), a scrivener things (idk what it’s called but it also has character sheets aGAIN and locations!! (but it’s only a trial 😭😭 so rip to them soon)), a goodnotes notebook (what even is life at this point) and a docs folder for first draft, quotes, characters (???? aGAIN???) and “trash” (for the dead darlings). and this is my most organized one out of all??? otherwise it’s just all over the place. i use evernote for ??? pretty much everything. oneshots, character sheets for fanfic ocs, outline for fanfics, fanfic chapters. i use the notes app also for oneshots and outlines. i use docs also for oneshots and outlines and fanfic chapters 😭😭😭 i mean there IS some kind of order?? because when i write something i do consciously decide which app to use…i just?? can’t really describe it cuz i don’t understand it myself hsjsjsj

hmm.. for 11 i think it'd be a pretty close decision between mahito and sukuna, but ultimately mahito.. he is a FREAKY little guy i do NOTT want to get involved with that!!!

16 has had me thinking for a little bit cause there's so many good jjk dynamics...like i love gojo and sukuna's banter, itafushi is. well theyre itafushi kgjsdkgfs, the whole first year trio is unmatched too.. but i think when it comes down to it i will always love yuji n nobara's dynamic soso much<3 they're so everything!!!

Oh I love Jubilee so so so SO much. The 90's X-Men cartoon had such a great take on her and X-Men '97 doesn't disappoint. I just wish the Fox X-Men did more outside of having her exist for 5 seconds in Apocalypse

I just realized and maybe I missed a scene or something... but...

Yuji never enjoys fighting. As in, he's not showing thrill in fighting with someone. Hasn't even cracked a smile whether it be out of pure enjoyment of fighting or just feeling a feral moment.

It's not like how Gojo, Sukuna, Toji, Todo, Nobara has done it a time or two, even Megumi.

But Yuji?

He's just dead serious. He ain't laughing, no jokes, he's not smirking. Instead, he has this look in his eyes that's like "your lights are about to go out". And sometimes, he's raging out.

Which, with a character like Yuji, it makes sense that he wouldn't enjoy fighting.

Yuji is a strong kid, but he's not boastful about it. He doesn't feel the need to show off what he can do. Anytime he says he "won't lose", he's thinking about winning for others. He took it to heart when Wasuke told him he's a strong kid and try to help others.

I have a thought, which is apart of another post working on, but I feel like this is one of the reasons why Sukuna despises Yuji.

Whenever Sukuna fights someone, he enjoys it. He's known as the King of Curses, the strongest sorcerer during the Heian period. And he likes to show it off.

Those he praises are those who push themselves to win and the reason would be out of pride.

Yuji is the opposite. He has the potential, yet doesn't care to be arrogant about it. And when he fights, it's not a game to him.

Sukuna probably has been observing Yuji all this time and thinking "how could this brat have all this strength and power and not relish in it?" He knows Yuji isn't really weak. He is always front row and center. Yuji even has the ability to suppress him and the first time he fought Sukuna, he was throwing skulls, punching at surfaces hard enough to shake them, etc. Maybe Sukuna called him boring because he saw that Yuji had that capability of giving him some entertaining match due to his skills, but Yuji wasn't showing enjoyment.

And what happened at the detention center I also believes plays a part, but I'll talk about that later in another post.

Anyways, yeah, Sukuna probably calls Yuji "weak" and "boring" to egg him on and finally get Yuji to snap into a "I'll show you weak" state to finally battle out to see who is the strongest. Not for the sake of the world, but for some actual entertainment.

🍜 CHAPTER 50 OMAKE 🍜

Kakashi pushed Mizuki along, hands far rougher than necessary with the battered man.

With one particularly harsh shove, it seemed Mizuki snapped out of the daze he’d been trapped in. Blinking rapidly and turning around to look at who was pushing him, the teacher actually looked relieved to see him.

“Kakashi-san! You witnessed that, didn’t you? Is there an ANBU squad on the way to arrest them? Those kids are delinquent brats, and their guardian is no better–she’s an insane little bitch. Like, I could have fought them off for sure, but it’s just a couple of kids and a girl, you know, so I held back. You’re gonna tell the Hokage, right? They need to be locked up, the whole lot of them.” He rambled, and Kakashi began to suspect a major concussion. Still, though, there was a clarity in his eyes when he spoke about Kiya that didn’t settle well with him.

The hospital was north of here. In a split-second decision, Kakashi guided Mizuki west. “Oh, I saw what happened, all right. They did quite a number on you.”

A little detour seemed to be in order.

“Yeah, well they fought dirty–dirty…” Mizuki paused, his face contorting in anger at whatever deranged thought his addled mind had landed on. “She’s a dirty fucking whore, you know? I kept her around because she was good for one fucking thing, and she could barely do that right. I don’t know what her problem was, man, acting like she was too good for me.”

He just let Mizuki talk, casually herding him into a back alley and allowing Mizuki to dig his own grave with every hateful word he uttered.

“Really?” He asked disinterestedly, hand tightening intentionally around his broken wrist.

Mizuki let out a pained grunt, but didn’t say anything about it. How cute–he wanted to look tough. “Yeah, funny, right? Hey… where are we going? I thought the hospital was–”

Finally reaching a deserted corner of the alley, Kakashi stopped and turned to face Mizuki, his eye flashing dangerously. “Funny indeed,” Kakashi replied, his voice cold. “It's always interesting to hear the perspective of a delusional liar.”

Mizuki flinched at the harshness in Kakashi's tone, realizing perhaps too late that he had said too much. “W-what do you mean?” he stammered, attempting to backtrack.

But Kakashi wasn't having it. With a swift motion, he slammed Mizuki against the wall behind him, eliciting a cry of pain from the man. “What I mean is that you're a disgrace,” Kakashi began in a low, dangerous tone. “You don’t deserve that headband, and you didn’t deserve her.”

“Who, Kiya?” Mizuki asked, swallowing thickly yet still putting up that transparent bravado. “You’re joking, right? What, did she spread her legs for you, too? Word of advice, man, it’s not worth it. She’s not worth it.”

Slowly, Kakashi increased the pressure of his hold around Mizuki’s wrist, giving him a fake eye-smile all the while. “Listen carefully, Mizuki-kun. You’re not going to speak about Kiya or what happened today ever again. If anyone asks, you fell down a flight of stairs. Understood?” He threatened coldly, enjoying the way the man’s features contorted in pain.

Mizuki's bravado crumbled as Kakashi's grip tightened, crying out. “Y-yes, I understand,” he stammered, beads of sweat dripping down his pallid forehead.

Kakashi leaned in closer, his eye narrowing with intensity. “Good. Then consider this a lesson.” he said, his voice dripping with menace. “Watch your mouth, or I won't be so gentle next time.”

“Yes, Kakashi-san. I-I’m sorry, sir, it won’t happen again.”

In a swift motion, Kakashi released Mizuki and patted him roughly on the shoulder. He flinched with each movement, letting out a shaky breath of relief as Kakashi yanked him out of the alleyway and back in the direction of the hospital.

Mist Worlds; Magic

This week I'm rambling out the magic types of the Mist Worlds so yeahhh

Not every world has a native magic, but if people settle there they bring their magic with them? It's kinda related to bloodline/original world shenanigans but like with Asin and Merrok, different magic types can crop up in the same family

People from magic families who don't themselves have magic (like Briony) tend to be called Neutrals

Feral Mage

animal companions!

heightened senses/share thoughts etc

can bond into one body if well enough in tune, which - if done well - affords some... extra generally elemental power (see; Jasper, Llinos)

- exceptions exist where it gets a little funky (see; Kaua, Willow)

- "legacy" ferals are when a family bond exclusively with one type of creature (see; Llinos/Tamhas/Tadhg's family of foxes) and the magic flows stronger, which affords some Stronger Elementalism once bonded (see; Llinos)

if it's not done well, become something known as Demon Souled where they're at war with themselves and highly antagonistic. Can be calmed but takes practice/control. volatile elemental magic (see; Skilkran, almost-maybe Jasper)

Green Witch

destruction all the way my guys

probably needs a different way

comes with a hefty allergy to getting wet (see; Lisetta)

Arch Mage

horrifically OP - these are the ones that sealed the dragons and stabilised the gates - and proud of it (see; Skir Aracel)

using their magic comes at the cost of their sanity. Bigger spells take more

Glyph/Runic Mage

known as glyph on their home world and runic on the world they've otherwise populated

carved/painted into items that can then be activated by anyone

easy to fuck up and change the meaning by like a brush stroke (see; Kriemhild)

can be used to mimicked other types of magic (see; Rhiannon)

one use only

Versatile

intention based - includes shapeshifters until that magic is stolen from them and becomes its own subset (see; Harne)

the first mages were a dancer's guild so every spell is linked to movement (see; Kai, Kiya, Sarin, Elfionn)

lots of little subtypes! Merlie is a spy so has don't-notice and eavesdrop as her main skills

after the Alisier eats magic and Kaithr releases it, all the little subtypes become their own branches and no one can dip in and out of them

Sea Witch

one of the magics not really open to humans on accounts of it not being one of their worlds

(specialised Weather Witches can get here but Oof)

it's the mermaid to naga pipeline (mermaids being the young and more fresh water based, some interaction with land people. Once they reach a certain age, the Changes happen and they become naga, which are exclusively salt water but can come up on land for stretches of time)

Charm Witch

sort of like glyph mages in that it's carved/worked into things and can be used by anyone

more of a ritual aspect in how it's cast on the item, involving pulling the aspect from something else to place in it (see; Tamar pulling heat from candles to make her rings/scarf warm at a breath)

recharges slowly

from one of the destroyed worlds

Techno Mage

siphon off electricity from anything with a current/energy (see; Asin), Fuck Around And Find Out with tech (see; Seth)

accidentally created time travel? not harnessed until the Far Future (and yet Saturday and Siofra are here anyway)

most at home on high-tech world, but can operate anywhere. One of the few people to be able to transport their tech from world to world without it breaking down

make pacts/agreements with spirits and the like. useful for combatting Erinty (see; The Tricksters)

mostly pacts for temporary power, "I'll borrow this for this" kinda bargains, but can be permanently binding depending on the wording 'n' such. A little light necromancy is possible (see; Taerne)

Sorceror/Warlock

used interchangeably but more like DnD Warlocks than sorcerors oops

made a pact with one of the elder gods at the centre of the worlds, which affects what kind of spells they can cast

get a pact animal/conduit to access their god to beg for power

Weather Witch

elemental shenanigans!

Very clanny

rare that a person has more than one... type? but has been known to happen (see; Ris, who is an OP example and the impetus for the SHTwins set of stories)

useful in groups for... well, controlling the weather. You want good sunshine and warmth for an outdoor event? talk to your local weather witch clan

Soul Mage

does in fact have a whole ramble on it somewhere (over here) but paraphrasing here

healing/interrogation/biometric locks are its main applications

can be sunk into gems for access later so the creator doesn't have to use up their own life to power it (unless they're the one using it, at which point they just. feel slightly ill? possibly faint depending on how much they're using/how used to it they are)

can also be used for mind control! we got puppet people! Noticeably does not work on fully bonded ferals. Please don't. This is how you end up with an angry lynx that has access to fire.

9. how would you describe your art style?

part of me wants to answer this question using other artists as like....a frame of reference....but i'm always a bit hesitant to compare my art style to other artists i admire cries,, i also generally dislike thing where it's like "your art style looks like [other artist]" bc when u spend so long trying to develop something that feels intuitive and right to you, hearing it looks like someone else's work can feel kind of invalidating even when the intentions r good. i'm even MORE hesitant to directly name some of my biggest art inspo (especially active jjk fandom artists lmao u can pry those from my cold dead hands or unlock friendship level 1 and i will tell u)

i'm rambling hh fuck it theyre both massive they won't see this ghjsd if i had to describe my style using other artists that inspire me as comparison, i would say tht my style is like if viria and velinxi were a. worse at what they do and b. used more chalky and dry brushes.

14. are certain characters harder to draw than others? Who's hardest for you?

I already talked about yuuji and nanami i'll throw sukuna into the ring. another masculine character big surprise ghjfsd but a few things tht make sukuna difficult r the fact that he also has yuuji's face (at least most of the time when I draw him) and slicks back his already-challenging hair which makes it INFINITELY more difficult to draw. listen. i did my time in yuri on ice i suffered through eros!yuri . slicked back hair is so hard and for whAT. idk if anyone has picked up on it but i have little tricks to make the shape language of slicked hair more forgiving ghsdj i either give sukuna a few front bang pieces or sweep his hair off to one side rather than straight back. anything 2 ease the Horrors
