"The Spark" and Natalia Grace's Plight
I’ve pondered here about Natalia Grace Barnett before. If you’re not familiar, she is a Ukrainian orphan adopted by an American family who then suspected her of being a dwarf adult and not a child at all. The adoptive parents had her legally reaged and booted her to the curb and come to find out, all evidence points to the fact that she was 9 or 10 when they reaged her to 22 and this is basically…

Adaine Abernant S3 Character Playlist: Side A
So many feelings, so many. Here's to our overworked teenage oracle of all.
Genres Include: Alternative Rock, Folk, Pop-punk
1. Custom Concern, Modest Mouse
Their custom concern for the people
Build up the monuments and steeples
To wear out our eyes
I get up just about noon
My head sends a message for me to reach for my shoes and then walk
Gotta go to work, gotta go to work, gotta have a job
Goes through the parking lot fields
Doesn't see no signs that they would yield and then thought
This'll never end, this'll never end, this'll never stop
Yeah, obviously, this is about spending so much of your time devoted to a job and losing your mind about it. There are a lot of songs about hating your job, but I don't think they capture the level of dissociation and disillusionment like this one.
2. Why Am I Like This?, Orla Gartland
Last night, I smoked a cigarette
My dad would have been so upset
Then we got tattoos by the coast
Maybe I'm an old soul trapped in a young body
Maybe you don't really want me there at your birthday party
I'll be there in the corner, thinking right over
Every single word of the conversation we just had
So why am I like this? Why am I like this?
I can just imagine Adaine getting to experience so much of "normal" teenage life now that she's not controlled by her parents, getting to be the party wizard, getting to be the cool girl with the best friends, and knowing that she still has that little voice in the back of her head.
3. I Don't Know You, Mannequin P*ssy
I know one, two things I have heard about you
But I wouldn't tell you
No, I couldn't tell you
I know three, four things that they say about you
But I wouldn't tell you
No, I couldn't tell you
I know a lot of things
I know a lot of things
But I don't know you
Adaine's exchanges with Oisin really took me off guard, just because romance has kind of never been able to be on her plate the past two seasons. It totally makes sense, she was dealing with the worst abusive family ever, but also that means that 17-year-old cool girl adaine is absolutely clueless about this stuff (not to say that Oisin is any better).
4. Boreas, The Oh Hellos
Making lists, folding laundry
Keeping tidy with my radio show
I'd be lying if I told you
I'm keeping tidy anymore
Yeah, I swing from believing
That maybe my working will all pay off
To considering drinking with Molotov
I'm halfway out the door
Maybe then my breath could embody
A wildfire starting
I'd sweep up the forest floor
And my body'd breath life into the corners
Be a darker soil
This song, in particular, is MY burnout song. It's one of my favorites, and it (Romans 10:9 by The Mountain Goats) is what I listen to when I just can't take it anymore. Also I love to pepper in a little bit of rage/fire/red imagery into each of the characters since I think we can all tell what brennan has cooking down the line 👀
5. Running Out Of Time, Paramore
Never mind, I hit the snooze on my alarm twenty times
But I was just so tired
There was traffic, spilled my coffee, crashed my car, otherwise
Woulda been here on time
Shoulda, coulda, wouldn't matter, ultimate alibi
You know it's a lie
There was a fire
Metaphorically
Be there in five
Hyperbolically
Obsessed with this song and the entire album, Ms. Williams (and the rest of Paramore, by extension) have my entire heart. I also like that we have cross over with having Cest Comme Ca on the Kristen playlist and this song here. I really like the dreamy quality this one has for Adaine though (could almost say trance-like ha ha)
6. How to Boil an Egg, Courtney Barnett
Pull yourself together, pick myself apart
Nothing lasts for never so be still my bleeding heart
Oh I've been dreaming, dreaming of a brand new start
Yeah, I've been dreaming, dreaming of a brand-new start
Oh, you have a great abundance of axes there to grind
Remember some people have real problems next time you whine
Oh, hang the washing
Hang the washing on the line
Yeah, hang the washing, hang the washing on the line
I just think she should start charging for prophecies. Like those tarot readers/astrologers on like etsy. People (elves) should fantasy venmo the oracle and she should turn her unpaid position into a lucrative business. Extort some hoity toity elves.

iHeartPodcasts Sets Multi-Year Deal with Bradley Cooper’s Lea Pictures
Hollywood has been knocking on the door of podcasting for the last few years, and that trend appears to be accelerating. With big-name stars in high-profile fiction podcasts and big-name producers like Brian Grazer's and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment now producing podcasts, announcements of this media synergy have become more frequent and more expected.
So it was no surprise when iHeartMedia announced a new multi-year audio deal between iHeartPodcasts and Lea Pictures, a production company launched by Bradley Cooper in 2020. The collaboration will include several new co-produced shows, including The Good Stuff Podcast, which debuted last month and serves as Lea Pictures’ very first audio project. Cooper will serve as Executive Producer for the entire slate, which will be distributed by iHeartPodcasts.
The Good Stuff Podcast, the first project in the new slate, is a weekly show that delves into inspiring stories of success and perseverance. Hosted by Jacob Schick, Chief Executive Officer for One Tribe Foundation and a third-generation Marine, and his wife Ashley Schick, a two-time Emmy Award winning-storyteller, the two will showcase individuals who have made a positive impact through their acts of kindness, successful careers, businesses and military service. Listeners can check out the series now and new episodes will post each Tuesday.
“Sharing stories that inspire, motivate and resonate is one of the reasons I started Lea Pictures, and I’m excited to team up with iHeartPodcasts to bring them to life for millions of listeners,” said Bradley Cooper, founder of Lea Pictures. “Our shows will feature real people telling real stories, and we knew iHeart was the perfect partner to reach as many people as possible. I look forward to dreaming up more extraordinary stories together.”
“Bradley is one of the great creators of our time, inventing and reinventing, again and again, how great stories are told – across multiple genres and formats. We could not be more proud and excited to introduce his expertise, vision and approach to the exploding podcast medium with this partnership,” said Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia Audio Group. “At the end of the day, podcasting is all about a deep, meaningful connection – between a host and their audience, and the audience and the story. And iHeartPodcasts is uniquely positioned to reach mass audiences that will deeply resonate with these thoughtful, uplifting stories.”
Building off the critical and financial success of his producorial work on the Oscar-nominated films “Nightmare Alley,” “A Star is Born,” “American Sniper,” and “Joker,” Bradley Cooper formed Lea Pictures in 2020 to develop and produce commercially entertaining and transformational feature films, television, documentary films and digital content. Lea Pictures executives include Weston Middleton, who heads up the film division and has worked with Cooper for the past 15 years, Kristen Barnett, who joined in 2022 to run the television division and Anneliese Barron in the social impact space heading up Cooper’s One Family Foundation.
Cooper’s first feature film under Lea Pictures, “Maestro” will be released by Netflix this Fall. Cooper produced, co-wrote, directed and will star in the film. With a first-look film deal at Netflix and a first-look television deal at Apple TV+, Bradley Cooper’s Lea Pictures slate currently includes Netflix’s feature film “Maestro;” Searchlights’ “Is This Thing On,” which Cooper will also direct; Warner Bros’ “Bullitt and Hyperion;” and The History Channel’s six-hour miniseries, “FDR” which premiered this summer on A&E.
The Good Stuff Podcast will be available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.

K3 Sisters Band
A Band Revolution
by Isadora Barnett
TikTok has allowed artists and creatives alike to create platforms that they have full control over. The K3 Sisters Band is one of the amazing groups that have gained a massive following of 2.1 million on TikTok and 66K on Instagram in under a year. With multiple TV interviews, these women have no doubt captured the public eye. However, they have been creating music for years. The K3 Sisters Band is a female led band created by Kaylen, Kristen, and Kelsey Kassab.
The sister trio grew up in Texas, where their parents heavily influenced their love of music. Learning instruments their entire lives, family and music have always coincided. This is why they call their fans the K3SBFAM (K3 Sister Band family). Fan interaction has become the basis of everything for K3SB, as they have spent 24 hours live streaming just to show their commitment. Besides having musical talents these sisters are their own sound and lighting engineers. Working to curate online concerts that are said to be completely unpredictable, because no show is ever the same.
Some themes that are generated by the K3SB are ones of love, acceptance, and Harry Potter! Their motto is “I will always believe in myself and celebrate my life and the lives of others. I will respect the music of others and the customs of others as long as they are not harmful to anyone. I will stand against bullying of any kind and choose love over hate.”
Many parents have reached out, talking about how their music and loving presence have helped their children during hard times. They have a zero-hate policy and work to stand against bullying – most recently with their song “Sticks and Stones.” These sisters have created a family and safe space for everyone.
When it comes to Harry Potter this is just another way to connect with fans. As they share their own personal love for the fandom through cosplay, songs, and covers.
The K3 Sisters see themselves as entrepreneurs; women with “something to say.” Their platforms have generated a business that they hope to only grow. They recently became a part of the TikTok Billion Dollar Creator Fund. According to TikTok, the fund was created to "help support ambitious creators who are seeking opportunities to foster a livelihood through their innovative content."
As COVID simmers, the sisters are focused on keeping a low environmental impact as “touring comes with gas mileage and pollution”. They’ve had great success with online shows and hope to make them hybrid, making accessibility key. As the K3 Sisters truly believe that “three things matter in life: water, oxygen, and music”.

my favourite shows on netflix
*ON netflix, NOT netflix shows - although there are a couple of those in here*
1. Peaky Blinders
Starring Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson
“I don't pay for suits. My suits are on the house or the house burns down.” (exquisite storylines, exquisite acting, exquisite cinematography, costumes, sets, writing, everything - if a perfect show existed this would be it. An easy, and very much deserved, 9.5/10)
2. Patriot Act
Starring Hassan Minhaj
“In many ways this election is about what it means to be indian - and no you can’t just marry into it.” (funny, informative, satirical, and one absolutely terrific comedian, it makes you laugh and it makes you think - and i just adore it, I’d give it a pretty solid 7.5/10)
3. Pose
Starring Ryan Jamaal Swain and Mj Rodriguez
“I'm not looking to be somebody's plaything. I want romance. I want to fall in love. I deserve that. Not some bumped up boy toy.” (Beautifully shot, stunningly acted, some much needed representation, and just a great set of storylines - i love it, and it’s a solid 9/10)
4. Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries
Starring Essie Davis and Nathan Page
“Having grown up in second-hand flannels, there is nothing quite so divine as the feel of silk underwear.“ (Stunning costumes, great cinematography, fun murder mysteries, and one of my favourite female protagonists in any form of media - 8.5/10, easily)
5. LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS
Starring different actors per episode
“the cosmos was already speaking it’s own truth, far far better than he every could” (a broad range of stunning animation styles mixed in with new supernatural and philosophical themes introduced each episode, i just love good adult animation, a little graphic but a solid 7.5/10)
6. One Day At A Time
Starring Justina Machado and Rita Moreno
“Mom, you said minibars were introduced by the CIA to punish poor people.” (One of my favourite sitcoms ever, it’s funny, heartfelt, and has a good does of latinx, lesbian, and genderqueer representation, while also dealing with problems like drugs and alcohol - easy 8/10)
7. Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency
Starring Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood
“There is no point in using the word 'impossible' to describe something that has clearly happened.” (Probably my favourite netflix original, it’s fun, absurd, a little scary at times, but a really good time, i always get sad that when I think of how it wasn’t given a third season - 8/10)
8. The Good Place
Starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson
“I know it sounds crazy, but if it weren’t crazy they wouldn’t call it a ‘leap of faith.’ They would call it a ‘sit...of… doubting.” (I love this show so much, it’s philosphical, funny, and and pretty good 9/10. It’s Micheal Schurr’s best show so far in my opinion - Office fans don’t hate me)
9. Mad Men
Starring Jon Hamm and Elizabeth Moss
“But that’s life. One minute you’re on top of the world, the next minute some secretary’s running you over with a lawn mower.“ (I love everything about this show- the look, the feel, the characters. I’ve seen the whole thing three times, I enjoyed it more every time, it’s a 9/10 and i love it)
10. Bojack Horseman
Starring Will Arnett and Alison Brie
“You didn’t know me and then you fell in love with me. And now you know me.” (Since it’s release it’s become pretty much my favourite show. Heartbreaking, funny, my favourite characters in any type of media - 9.5/10, I don’t know how many times I’ve cried over the free churro monologue)

Speaking for myself and maybe some others, I enjoyed the preview for next week, but the dread comes from Barnett cowriting it. That's all. Somehow, she is going to ruin it just like we think she is going to ruin the 150th episode. The reason why the forces part of tonight's episode was cringe and hardly understandable was due to Kristen Kim cowriting it. These women have a pattern and it ain't positive. These problem writers make it harder and harder to look forward to the show, no matter who has what plot. Not saying you have to feel the same way. Just saying that's more than likely the reason for a few of us not enthusiastic about the rest of the season.
I completely understand any apprehension due to Barnett co-writing. Imo, while I’m not a huge fan of Kristen Kim’s writing, her writing honestly is innocuous when compared to Barnett’s. So I totally understand that and going in a bit perturbed that Barnett was given an episode with an Iris A-plot to co-write. This is a valid worry, which I do share.
However, I was mostly referring to people complaining excessively and not wanting to watch based on a fifteen-second promo, while ignoring the fact that the episode literally has an Iris A-plot.

*Whew* Well in that case, There’s this guy called Jacob Barnett, and he’s really, really good at math. But! He’s also super Exited!!(tm) about math, and he does the Exited!!(tm) gestures, and he makes me want to do math, which is a weird feeling let me tell you. The best things to watch are his TedTalk, and then a talk his mom, Kristen Barnett, did at Ignite Birmingham. Thank you for your time! -Q
Oh indeed? I’ve never been one to like math much so I’ll have to take a look.
