“Not safe.” He repeats for what must be the third or fourth time in so many minutes, and continues to drag Scra along behind him, further into the underground labyrinth that stretches the length of the city. The measly little flashlight on his pack, doing sweet fuck all to illuminate more than a handful of feet in front of them.

“You’ve been saying that for the last 10 minutes.”

“Because it’s true and I’ll continue to say it until we’re out of this Icarus-forsaken city.”

Scra squeezes his hand, trying, again, to pull him to a stop. “It’s also true that you’re hurt.”

Anyways oh boy Scra's going to have trust issues after this which are probably only going to get worse when he realises the person he loves most has also been lying to him and using him the whole time. I'm still convinced we'll get to see his parents or someone related to him on Crow Island. Anyways I'm glad Cyras is getting some positive framing, it really goes to show while he does awful things sometimes, he's a by-product of the environment they were all born in, a by-product of the governments shitty actions

Why is this happening on pride month of all times?

At least the croaking seems to be going somewhere decent plot-wise. I bought early access and Ky told Scra everything! At least one couple gets to be happy-ish this pride month.

Also, a friend got me into The Croaking and so I'm here to complain about the point of the story I'm right now. I have no clue how cuts work on Tumblr, so I'm just going to hit buttons. If it doesn't work, just know that there are spoilers after this point

so i just finished the mid season finale of season two. I love the plot and the characters and everything is amazing and well done, but Ky's character arc annoys me to no end. Like, I love the guy but poor scra. When he finds out about everything he's going to be so broken. Also, the little hug scra gave ky(that he didn't return....) Was adorable. Scra love him so much....

And then poor ree. My poor girl. She only has Tiraa. She's so far out of the loop.

Personally, I think we should lock ky up in that prison for like a week, and then have scra find out and go rescue him. Then, ky will realize he loves scra and tell him everything and then go save Keelee and everything will be fine.

I don't have any theories that aren't already in the comments on the webtoon, so I won't put them here.

Ranting about the latest croaking update. Spoilers for S3.

1. Okay, it's practically confirmed now that Scra is part of the royal blood line, right?

The statue of the Crow king is literally asian! Scra is the only other Asian crow we've ever seen AHHHH-

2. I am sooo worried for Ky tbh. His mother is a b*tch and isn't going to go easy on him in the trial and I worry what his punishment will be 😓

3. I have a NEED for the Crow Lord to turn out to be an actual uncle figure for Scra, and NOT a manipulative asshole like literally every other parent in this comic. Scra will need someone for the next five years.

4. OH YEAH--5 YEARS OF HOME LOCK DOWN FOR ALL OF THEM???? Much better than the 20 year prison sentence Scra almost got, but I wonder if we'll get a time skip???

Oooh, that would be so interesting! Keelee would be a teenager by then! And the egg 5 yrs old! (I wonder if Tiraa and Cyrus will have gotten together off screen by then? 🤔)

I definitely have a feeling we'll see the time skip and I'm rlly dreading/looking forward to that, because I have a feeling Ky will be in prisoned for that time 😭

That's definitely going to change the Keelee/Ky reunion. Gosh, imagine seeing ur sister when she was still a fledgling, couldn't fly, and THEN she's suddenly a teenager??? I smell angst.

5. I didn't realize just how powerful the Crow Lords were. The counsel was afraid of him. So curious to learn more about this country and it's history!

Scra jolts. Shies away from the pain and inhales sharply between his teeth. 

Ky grimaces. Breathes, “Sorry.”

He’s being gentle as he can be, but the stitches are still a week shy of being a month old and he was never very good at sutures. Cleaning the haphazard lacing he’s woven up Scra’s leg isn’t the easiest thing to do without the cloth occasionally pulling—tugging—at a stitch here and there. Especially when it’s taking every last brain cell he has to stay on task and not let himself fall prey to distraction.
