LEDs based on transition metal dichalcogenides display reduced efficiency losses
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs), semiconductor-based devices that emit light when an electric current flows through them, are key building blocks of numerous electronic devices. LEDs are used to light up smartphone, computer, and TV displays, as well as light sources for indoor and outdoor environments. Past studies consistently observed a decline in the performance and efficiency of LED devices based on two-dimensional (2D) materials at high current densities. This loss of efficiency at high current densities has been linked to high levels of interaction between excitons, which cause a process known as exciton-exciton annihilation (EEA). Essentially, the properties of some 2D materials prompt excitons to strongly interact with each other, causing excitons to "deactivate" one another. This results in a significant waste of energy that could otherwise contribute to the lighting of LEDs.

#personal#the engineering chronicles#it’s literally listed as an i2c pin in the tables but i overheard the student assistant say it’s not a real pin when i got into lab and was#like ?!?! and looked it up in the data sheet and for our version of this microcontroller yeah they replaced it with a capacitor for some#inexplicable reason and Left The Pin Label There. also need to stress that where it says it’s an i2c pin it IS listed under our specific#microcontroller like. technical writer of this data sheet when i catch you ‼️#so anyway. that was NOT the only issue we had even if the pin did exist it was supposed to be set for i2c2 and we accidentally set it for#i2c1 and also none of us has any clue what command to send to make the led on the other board like up but he doesn’t need to know that 🤫#*light up#even my prof didn’t know abt the secret nonexistent pin and he said no student of his has ever had this issue which actually i don’t think#is true bc i’ve been trying to avoid the b port all semester Specifically bc i remember having weird issues with the pins not working on it#last year and i suspect this is why but. yeah no consequences YIPPEE 🥳

teaming up to do outdoor christmas lights is a great rite of passage for any young couple
#we bled#we complained#blood sweat and tears maybe#we did not cry but our noses ran#we spent $60 more on net lights#we engineered a plywood perch for my light up cardinal to sit on so he could be in a tree branch in the yard#we ARE the cutest house in the neighborhood#not that it was hard to take that title bc no one else has put up any lights#but we have taken the title#our ladder will not be used again for another 12 months#but yeah so in summary#net lights (x6)#wrapped trees (x2)#LED cardinal (x1)#roof lights around 3 sides of the roof#(all lights are rainbow because white lights are lame)#(the warm toned ones with the pink not the weird bluish multicolors)#oh and of course theres my light up spiral tree on the front doorstep#i think that covers everything#text#random#personal#bf tag#merry christmas this experience aged me 5 years#i feel like a divorced dad that has trouble getting down from the ladder bc of his bad back

i cant believe the day but i finally got a full tower pc. bought it already built and at a considerable discount of some 320 dollars off. its fucking huge and theres so many things going on inside... i was initially planning on choosing the parts myself but finding the graphics card was so hard and everyone else convinced me to just buy it built and honestly? good. id probably have fucked this up so badly by myself
i cant use it yet bc i took too long to buy the monitor that was also on sale and now its regular price -_- tho i managed to find a discount used one for now. well see how that goes since ill get it tomorrow. i tested it on out living room tv and it had some kaspersky thingy open and like thats so cute. i hope they left some treats in the browsing history for me to search through before i wipe it clean
