“AFTERMATH”- (Chapter 18 of “The Woman in the White Dress”) A Lady Dimitrescu Fic
The young woman is awoken by the sound of loud knocking. She grabs a nearby shawl, confusion evident on her face as she heads towards the tavern’s front door. The knocking carries an air of desperation as it bounces throughout the tavern’s walls, accentuated by the silence of the night.
“Daniela?” The server addresses the visitor while wiping sleep from her eyes. Concern immediately replaces fatigue as the woman takes in the vampire’s appearance. Puncture wounds cover the blonde’s body while dried blood stains the entirety of her arms.
“Jo….” Daniela says while nervously rubbing one of her wrists, her voice low. Jo takes notices of the puffiness around the vampire’s eyes, evidence of recent crying.
“..I did something bad….something very bad.” Daniela closes her eyes as she relives the night’s horrors, slightly shaking.
The brunette feels herself hold back as she processes the vampire’s broken state, wanting nothing more than to embrace her. She instead decides to gently place a hand on the blonde’s cheek, making her lightly gasp.
Daniela quickly leans into the touch, opening her eyes and finding no judgement on the woman’s face, only compassion. (salvation...)
Jo’s voice is soft. “Come, let’s get you cleaned up.”
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
*A few hours later*
Alessia delicately pushes back a strand of hair that covers your face, she barely makes contact with your skin, afraid you’ll crumble under the slightest touch. But the scars your skin adorns say otherwise. The woman studies the scrapes that pepper your face, her expression both warm and sad. The girl’s marked face reminds her of memories she locked away long ago. Memories she was forced to face again after so many years.
The voices that surround the redhead are drown out by various thoughts as she guards the halfling. The dangers are gone for now and yet, she can’t help but stay by the girl’s side.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
“We are forever indebted to you and your pack, Vera. I am forever indebted to you.” Alcina addresses the alpha while tightly gripping the curtain that covers her, the only fabric nearby they could find long enough for the woman’s body.
The leader politely denies the matriarch’s words, waving a hand before her face.
“Our creed requires us to protect the loved ones of our clan. If you want to thank anyone, thank the human who managed to hold off the hunters before we arrived. She seems quite resourceful.” Vera states while nodding her head in Zhera’s direction.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
“Do you really think she’d say no?”
“Lena. Please.” Zhera answers firmly with her arms crossed as the vampire holds onto her, gently squeezing her bicep.
“Would it be so bad to just ask. One of you is a dream but adding that beautiful alpha to our bed would be the stuff of legends. Plus, I can’t help but be curious of what lays under her partner’s bandages.” Lena explains shamelessly, while wiggling her eyebrows at the mercenary.
Despite the vampire’s light tone, Zhera takes notice of how the woman’s smile doesn’t quite reach her eyes. She decides now is not the time to comment on it.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Jo gently passes a small washcloth over Daniela’s cheek, trying to wipe speckles of blood without disturbing the woman’s injuries.
The vampire doesn’t look at her, instead choosing to stare down at the tub’s now sullied water. Jo silently studies Daniela as her eyes burrow into the water, wincing as she recalls the night’s events. The vampire had shut down as soon as Jo began preparing her bath. Daniela had said nothing while her clothing was removed, lost in a daze. The brunette responded to the blonde’s catatonic state by tying her tight curls up, preparing for the long night ahead of them.
She knows eventually they’ll need to talk but right now her priority is making sure Daniela is taken care of. She carefully washes the blonde’s body. Despite the vampire’s state, she can’t help but thank the gods that Daniela survived in one piece.
Jo can’t help but feel a mixture of frustration and helplessness as she washes the vampire. She never believed anyone could ever truly harm the blonde. For gods’ sake, they met because Daniela protected the server against a patron’s unwanted advances. The image of a dinner knife stabbed through the man’s hand while Daniela mocked him was still fresh in her mind. Later that night the vampire would take her bed. That night, Jo experienced a pocket of heaven only read about in stories, feelings that went beyond flesh and bone and all before Daniela even touched her.
She realized the vampire had such a strong effect on her because she was her polar opposite in every way.
Of course, the blonde was physically enticing, what with her striking features and her deadly allure. But what made her truly fall for the woman was how Daniela was unapologetically herself.
The vampire lived her life with a level of honesty and bravery she had never seen before. Underneath all the grumbles and threats was a woman who refused to settle for a life she didn’t want. It also didn’t help that she found all the vampire’s quirks endearing to no end.
Before tonight Jo always believed Daniela was untouchable. But the image of the woman in her tub tells her otherwise.
Jo wasn’t a vindictive person, far from it and yet, right in this moment she wishes nothing more than to be like Daniela. To be powerful enough to find whoever has broken the vampire and to make them suffer. She can’t help but feel frustrated by her human status. But tonight, isn’t about her anger.
A low voice snaps her from her thoughts.
“It’s all my fault.” Daniela whispers, still not looking up. The brunette patiently waits for her to continue.
Daniela squeezes her fists, digging her nails into her skin. Jo takes notice of the gesture’s intensity, quickly becoming worried she’ll draw blood.
“Dani..” She gently turns the blonde’s face towards her, gold eyes meet clear blue. Jo’s eyes always helped Daniela escape but, in this moment, they become the anchor she needs.
“What happened tonight?” The server asks softly, concerned.
And that’s when the dam breaks.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Alessia and Lena slowly pull back from their mother’s tight embrace, both secretly wishing they could stay there forever, a place where it’s always safe and warm. The lady of the castle stays bent at the knee as she addresses her children, fighting back the anger that threatens to resurface as she takes in their injured state.
Vera takes notice of the moment and silently waves away any nearby pack members, giving the women their much-needed privacy. The members are more than happy to oblige, content the brutal night was finally coming to an end.
Alcina softens her expression, focusing on how internally grateful she is for her children to be alive, for all of them to be safe- at least for tonight. The matriarch takes a small breath in, trying to keep a steady voice as she speaks, “there is so much I wish to say to you, sweet ones. Words that could fill a lifetime as I try to process the idea of someone ever putting my sweet daughters in harm’s way-”
Alcina squeezes a fist under the curtain, drawing blood but feeling no pain- only anger and sadness. “We know this unfortunately won’t be the last time this happens…it is both the curse of our nature and of life itself.”
The mother closes her eyes with a small sight as she processes the weight of the statement, missing the slight twitch in Lena’s eye. The brunette tries her best to keep her expression neutral as flames burn within her, feeling a mixture of emotions she hasn’t felt in centuries. The  vampire wonders if this is how her younger sister feels before craving a hunt; pure, raw energy that demanded to be let out.
Normally Alessia would have taken notice of her sister’s underlying reaction but she’s too fixated on how soothing she finds her mother’s voice. After a night like tonight, she simply wishes to escape; to disappear into every touch and sound that eases her mind. Alcina’s presence was slowly helping her escape away from the night’s horrors but there was something that kept gnawing at her, something that kept her from moving on. The redhead knew there was someone she needed to talk to, the only person who could rival her mother when it came to making her feeling safe.
“But regardless of whomever dares to cross us, to harm us, to make us feel we are less worthy of life and happiness- I need you both to remember one thing.”
The women lock onto the intensity in their mother’s eyes as she holds their hands in hers and squeezes.
“Remember that I love you more than my very existence and if there was a way to love you more, I would.” Alcina says softly, looking at her children with tender admiration.
Lena feels tears prick at her eyes at her mother’s statement, overwhelmed by the honesty behind it. Alessia instantly squeezes her mother’s hand back, feeling her own eyes get watery.
“Being your mother is the greatest privilege I will ever have. You all give my life a layer of meaning and purpose that goes beyond the mortal realm. Heaven and hell could send every soldier they have, and it still wouldn’t be enough to stop me from loving you. I love you girls and I will never stop loving you.”
Alcina flashes the women a small smile as she gently wipes the tear that runs down Lena’s face. The women immediately embrace their mother again, tightly hugging her as their tears freely fall, no longer holding back.
Lena’s voice cracks as she tries to address the matriarch, “Mother-“
But Alcina gently interrupts her with a whisper, “Shhhh, my love. I’ve got you- I always will.”
The brunette continues to further stain the curtain as she sobs into her mother’s shoulder. Alessia shamelessly buries her head deep against her mother’s body, equally staining her outfit as she sniffles. The surrounding world melts away as the women they give into the moment, releasing hours of built-up emotions onto their mother’s presence. Alcina happily absorbs her children’s fears and frustration, if possible, she would transfer all their pain into her at the drop of a hat. [I would be nothing without you.]
“My beautiful, beautiful girls.”
Alcina speaks again as her children pull away. “Now-“
She gently places a hand on each of their cheeks. “I know there’s nothing you need more than to go be with certain people.”
The matriarch highlights, clearly knowing her children and their needs.
Alessia opens her mouth to refute the claim, only for her mother to stop her. “It’s okay, Alessia. We’ve all had a long night and I want nothing more than for both of you to be with your sanctuaries…. I have a feeling that’s where our dear Daniela is tonight…. at least, I truly hope so.”
The redhead nods with a sigh as she accepts the rebuttal, knowing deep down her mother was right.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lena aggressively swings her bedroom doors open, resulting in a loud bang as wood slams against the walls. Had it not been for the weight and quality of the doors they surely would have broken under the vampire’s force. The brunette shows no concern as she makes her way towards her vanity.
Her partner quietly follows behind her, deciding it best to not comment on the vampire’s aggressive behavior. Zhera instead goes to gently close the doors, quickly noticing the fresh cracks that stretch up the wall behind them. She takes a small moment to look at the damage with a sad expression. The mercenary seals off the room, well aware that she was locking herself in with the storm that surrounded Lena. She quietly sighs as she braces herself against the entrance. The woman had single handily slain creatures only seen in nightmares, escaped death more times than she could count and yet, right now she feels anything but capable.
Does she address the night? Should she give Lena alone time? Would it be better if she took her home, away from the castle for the night? Questions swirls around Zhera’s mind as she feels completely out of her element. Lena had unsurprisingly always been the one who was better at comforting others. The mercenary was more than capable at treating wounds, patching someone up, etc. but there was always an invisible wall present whenever someone needed emotional support, this is where Lena shined. There’s a reason why she called Lena “a light”, the woman naturally illuminated the world around her and sometimes just with her smile alone.
At first the mercenary assumed the woman’s charming personality was simply a ploy to toy with her, get her to lower her guard so she could bleed her dry. Zhera originally believed the brunette must have been desperate because she just refused to leave her alone. Lena would “coincidentally” show up on jobs she had been hired for and flirt with her excessively, again, she refused to crack. But one day the mercenary found herself on death’s door, just barely defeating a giant as she braced herself against her sword, unable to support her own body weight. As her vision started to blur, she saw the brunette show up out of nowhere, concerned riddled on her face as she threw the warrior over her shoulder. Zhera didn’t have the energy to refuse, more confused as no one had been able to carry her since she was an adolescent.
When Zhera finally woke up she found herself in an infirmary, the nurse highlighting a panicked young woman had brought her in the night before. She wasn’t stubborn enough to believe the vampire was still trying to hunt her when she had a clear chance to kill her. Lena eventually showed up again, bringing her a care package of extravagant pillows, blankets, and foods that only nobles could afford. When Zhera asked the vampire why she was caring for her, Lena answered without skipping a beat. “It would be a shame to let someone so attractive die, don’t you think?”
The mercenary rolled her eyes, but the vampire quickly followed up, “I’ve watched you long enough to know you help a lot of people. People who wouldn’t be able to afford your services if you actually charged them what you’re worth.”
The woman didn’t know how to feel about the confession, staying silent as Lena continued. “But even past your kindness…because I could…and wanted to.” The brunette finishes with a whisper.
The statement only fueled Zhera’s mind with more questions but she instead laid there in silence as she stared up at the ceiling. Lena had assumed her silence as negative reception, preparing to leave and give the mercenary the space and rest she needed. But as she said her goodbye, she felt a large hand weakly grab her.
“……you can..stay if you’d like.” The patient said with a rasp.
She wants to be here for Lena, the way she’s always been here for her. (….abuelo, que hago?) -[Grandfather, what do I do?]
“Remember, Zherazita. When you love someone, you always have to try to listen and look.”
“Well, that sounds easy, I already listen and look when I talk to someone- that’s just how talking works, abuelo. I think you’re getting old.”
The older gentleman chuckles at the child’s bluntness.
But I mean REALLY listen and look because their tone and actions will tell you what they need, not their words. That’s how I know whether it’s a good day to slip you an extra piece of chocolate, if abuela’s in a good mood then it’s fine, even if we get caught.” The man finishes his statement with a cheeky wink.
The young girl only looks at the man with confusion, unable to find the meaning behind his message.
==============================================================================
Lena examines the prominent scratches that cover neck, frowning at their deep purple and maroon colouring. The vampire quietly hisses as she gently runs a finger over the wounds, feeling the slightest groove between flesh and scar. She’s unfortunately forced to take in her overall appearance and saying she looked abyssal would be putting it lightly. All of her sobbing had made her makeup run, her eyes puffy, hair dishevelled to no end and covered in lacerations from the head down. There is only one time she remembers looking such a way.
Lena tries to shake her head of the painful memory…. unfortunately, to no avail. Without warning, the face of the woman who sentenced her to death appears in her mirror, smiling back at her with contempt.
“To think, a heretic like yourself got eternal life while your aunt rots away as we speak.” The chaplain sneers.
Lena’s eyes widen as her mouth hangs agape, struggling to speak as her breathing quickens.
“I’m just glad we stopped you before you could corrupt her body with that disgusting dark ritual of yours. If you really think about it, it’s because of me she’s in heaven right now while little Lena’s soul is now forever tied to hell, how fitting!” The woman finishes her statement with a maniacal laugh.
The statement tears away the final piece holding Lena together, releasing every bit of rage that bubbled under the surface. Her body begins to vibrate on anger alone, feeling fire course through her veins. The beast within the woman didn’t break free, it was let out.
Heavy breathing breaks Zhera from her thoughts. Before she can react, Lena slams her fist against the mirror, instantly shattering it. Despite the glass sticking out of her hand, Lena continues to brutally punch the vanity, completely lost in a trance.

………………………………………………………………
………………………………………………………………
………………………………………………………………
You slumber away in complete darkness, completely cut off from the outside world. You float in a sea of black while in a comfortable fetal position, focusing on your soft breathing. Time doesn’t exist here and because of that, neither does the past or future, there is only now. Whatever wounds, aches or sores you originally felt are no longer existent, not here.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The sounds of the night are heard from a nearby open window, allowing a light breeze to enter the space. Alcina’s room was untouched by the raid, maintaining an alternative reality where it never happened, despite this, its habitants reflect otherwise.
Alcina gently lowers her sleeping companion onto her bed, overly paranoid the soft mattress could somehow further add to your wounds. She knows the thought is irrational, but this doesn’t stop her from making sure she positions you “just right” against the plush pillow. With the halfling now safe in bed the vampire should be able to join her and finally get the rest she desperately needs but she can’t, not yet. Alcina instead ignores her aching body as she continues to prepare you for bed, covering your small body with the large comforter. Alcina didn’t have the healing knowledge of Vera’s pack, the ability to understand what your body was going through as you rest but she could at least make sure you were comfortable to an extreme. She begins tucking you in, wrapping you in a warm cocoon but freezes once her face is just a few inches from yours. The face she awoke to this morning is not the same as the one that greets her now. She finally gets the privacy to look at you after everything, to REALLY look at you.
She looks down at you with sadness in her eyes as she ruminates over your wounds.
[The pain you must have felt…]
Guilt sits heavy in her gut as she studies every scratch, mark, and bruise, the most pronounced being a small line that crosses over your lips, she knows it’ll leave a prominent scar. A mark indicating survival, yes, but also an active reminder of this night, a night she doubts she’ll ever forget.
Alcina’s hand instinctively makes it way to the scar, hovering above it for a few seconds before pulling back, ashamed she had reached for it in the first place. She wants to touch you, yes. To embrace you in her arms and to never let go but not now….not like this, you deserve to rest. After everything you deserve that much.
Her gaze travels further down your body, only to immediately stop at your neck. She looks away for a moment as she tries to process the rich bruising that greets her. Deep purples mixed in with accents of green, blue, and yellow cover your throat. It doesn’t take Alcina long to guess who could have possibly done this, instantly filling her with rage and disgust. The image reminds her just how close to death the girl was, how she could have easily lost her and with that thought, Alcina finally cracks.
Her eyes begin to water as the weight of the night catches up to her. She convinces herself she can take this moment to not be strong, just a moment. A moment where she doesn’t have to worry about being Lady Dimitrescu…..but simply, Alcina. She quietly begins to sob into her hands, releasing a weight she hadn’t realized she was carrying.
“…I couldn’t protect you…I couldn’t protect any of you.” She whispers completely defeated.
“…..I wouldn’t say that….the foyer sure looked like a bloodbath when I got there.” A voice quietly rasps next to her.
The vampire’s eyes widen as she jerks her head towards you, she watches in shock as you lay up with ease. You stretch out a kink in your neck, still feeling slightly sore overall but nowhere near as bad as when your world went black.
Your eyes fall back onto the vampire, and you can’t help but feel a rush of excitement fill you. “Alcina!-“
Without thinking you throw your arms over her, pulling her in a tight embrace. She instantly melts under your touch, only adding to her theory that this must be a daydream of sorts. Even if this isn’t real, she’s in no rush to leave this world. It feels as if you absorb her sadness, your joyful energy infectious as usual.
You pull back to cradle her face in your hands, gently wiping a lingering tear from the corner of her eye. The subtle gesture isn’t lost on the vampire.
“I’m so glad you’re okay!….unless this is paradisio? Maybe purgatorio? I’m not sure which applies in this situation.” You say earnestly while trying to process which would make the most sense, your eyes slightly narrowing while looking around.
Alcina smiles at how hard you try to think, finding humour in your look of confusion, letting out a small sniffle. She brings her hands over yours, looking at you tenderly. “I was about to ask you the same thing, considering Vera told me it may take you a day or two to wake up.”
(Vera?)
Hearing about your teacher instantly reminds you of another warrior. “Zhera-“
You instantly jerk your head towards the door as you continue, “Wait! is Zhera okay? She snuck into the castle-“
Alcina bites back a smile at the statement, well aware of how many times the mercenary has “snuck in”, mostly because Lena was always overly excited on those days. One time the matriarch actually caught the woman in the middle of the night as she made her way towards the cellar, she’s never seen Zhera look so embarrassed. The mercenary immediately sputtered out excuses as to why she was infiltrating the home at night, each more ridiculous than the last. Alcina quickly glossed over the topic, not wanting to embarrass the woman further by reassuring her she was always welcome in the castle, regardless of time or day. The vampire remembers Zhera grumbling something to herself in Spanish as she swiftly made her way towards the west wing AKA Lena’s bedroom.
“ and she saved me…and then I remember we made our way to the foyer but then…um….”
You hold a hand to your head as you try to remember, looking away for a moment as you draw a blank. “For some reason…I can’t really remember anything past that… Why can’t I remember?”
The matriarch feels the slightest hint of relief as she actually has an answer to your question. She grabs your attention by gently taking your hands and holding them in her lap.
“Vera informed me you may have gasps in your memory-“ She starts rubbing her thumb over your hand as she finishes. “Apparently, it’s common when one first shifts, it does a lot to the body.”
Her gaze travels over you. She quietly watches for signs of your status, prepared to send you to bed if you still seemed a bit woozy or off.
(Shifted.)
“I shifted?....that’s right, I guess I did shift…wow.”  Your realization ends with a whisper.
Overall, the news should have overwhelmed you, but you realize just how soothing Alcina’s presence is. Any level of anxiety you originally felt has quickly dissipated under her touch. Without thinking, you release a relaxed sigh while closing your eyes, losing yourself to the moment…only to quickly remember your original worry.
“But Zhera? And what about the girls? Are they okay??! Where is everyone?!” You question while jolting out of her grasp, your anxiety raising once again. Your hands suddenly begin to shake, you feel as if electricity courses through your veins, sending uncontrollable tremors throughout your body.
It’s now Alcina’s turn to hold your face in her hands, trying to calm the abundant energy Vera had warned her about. Her voice is soft, but firm as distress covers your face, red flickering in your eyes.
“Look at me, my love.”
Your gaze locks onto hers, you take notice of how your trembling has slightly subsided under her touch. She begins caressing her fingers through your hair as she continues, instantly comforting you. Tenderness fills her eyes as she looks down at you.
“Everyone is okay. Vera has generously set up scouts to guard the castle in case any remaining hunters return.” She answers while pushing back a stray strand of hair behind your ear.
“Vera’s here?” You ask almost in a whisper while looking up at her.
Alcina gives you a light nod, “She’s nearby, yes. I was informed it was her and her pack that helped fight off the rest of hunters.”
[we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.]
The vampire takes notice of how the flashing red in your eyes starts to disappear after the reassurance. She smiles contently in response to it, surprising you with a chaste kiss to your forehead, hoping it’ll calm you down further but also because she can no longer hold back.
The kiss suddenly reminds you how much you’ve missed her lips, you need more, much more.
You instinctively lean up to grab her face, only to freeze in place once it’s just a breath away.
For the first time in the entire night, you really look at her.
The air feels warmer as Alcina’s eyes flicker over your lips before locking her gaze back to yours, patiently waiting for you to continue. It takes every fibre of her self-control to not crash her lips against yours, still not sure if you’re in the right headspace for it.
[…but you make it so hard, my love, when you look at me like that.]
You feel yourself gulp as you slowly lift a finger towards her face. Her eyes follow your every move, her body perfectly still as anticipation floods her.
You gently graze your fingers over her bottom lip, and she softly sighs while closing her eyes, losing herself to the sensation. The sound ignites your hunger.
And just like that you feel it again, the world disappearing around you as all that exists is her.
You suddenly feel her fingertips slowly run down your thighs; the tantalizing sensation sends a chill through you. You’re tempted to look down, but you know the image of her hands on your body would overwhelm you to no end and you still want to focus on her. You lightly move your fingers over her face, admiring her cheekbones as she keeps hers her eyes closed while leaning into the touch.
The intensity of the moment makes you realize something you find almost impossible you didn’t notice earlier, save for fabric around Alcina shoulders, both of you are essentially bare. Your eyes linger on her chest, and you feel your breath get heavier as heat begins to flood you. It almost feels like you can’t breathe, like there’s not enough air around you both.
You try to ignore the pulse in your core as you speak, feeling little self-control left.
“Alcina…” You whisper into her lips.
Brilliant golden orbs meet your gaze as she opens her eyes. Her cheeks begin to burn under your touch as she processes the hunger looking back at her, your pupils are blown out and a dark maroon. You give her a feral look she’s never seen before. There is tenderness there, yes, but also something carnal, desperation mixed with passion. It sends a chill down her spine.
She feels engulfed by your gaze, as if her entire life has been leading to this exact moment.
She wants nothing more than to offer herself to you, to sacrifice her body to your hunger, she wants you to take her, all of her.
Your hands begin to tremble again as you speak.
“I want you….but I don’t think I’ll be able to hold back anymore..but I understand if you don’t want that-“
You’re interrupted by her mouth crashing against yours.
“Take me, please take me.” She pleads against your lips and with that you finally decide, this must be paradisio.

LET'S TALK ABOUT SUPERCORP
Ok then I've been thinking these days about Supergirl and Lena, but trying to put aside my deep love for both of them and being maybe a little more objective (I'll try to be) Above all, because if we really want to be heard not only by CW but by all those who think we made it all up. I've ignored the clear writing problems that Supergirl writers have and all the green light they give to a lot of inconsistency in the actions and narration not only of Lena and Kara, but also an example like Alex (being one in S4 and another in S5 in several things (I think you know what I'm talking about)) I found not one, not two, not three parallels of Superman and Lois with Supergirl and Lena but several more. And let's be honest, you can believe that saving Lena's Helicopter could be a coincidence (Because it's a parallel with Clois in several versions, from the movies to the series) because they have confessed that Katie would only be in a couple of episodes (And then she ended up being a regular character) and I would like to talk about them (But also about all that romantic/"platonic" atmosphere that the series has built for both women) Things that happen on TV don't come to light without reason, many people are in them, and we almost always see what they want us to see, that's the way the media and the production companies are. One of the things I think is quite remarkable between the two of them is the color range, there is a synchronization and combination between their colors; more constant as they are blue and red, not only with Supergirl and Lena but also with Kara and Lena. You could also say that it is a parallel with Superman and Lois, the one in the comics and a clear example is the same range of colors of Clark and Lois in the Smallville series. It is important to know that this combination of colors is often in pairs, there are examples like Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe (DC's Legends of Tomorrow of CW) or Cheryl Blosson and Toni Topaz (Riverdale of CW), among others like Barry Allen and Iris West (The Flash of CW) We also have those moments when they give Lena Luthor comic book Lois costumes, it's a subtle thing, but it's almost impossible for it to be something random. The question here is why? Why give those references to Lois Lane to Lena Luthor? We know they are winks, and winks are tributes and it's great, I mean the producers almost always do it, with covers, phrases and postponed costumes, also scenes, but you have to know how to put them and also with whom because they can bring implicit things. Then I start thinking about how curious it is that they give Lena Luthor, an intrepid, ingenious woman who is not afraid to face the world and that the fans match her with the main character, the most powerful woman on the planet, daughter of the house of El and a great reporter before the world (Have you ever heard that story? If you know who) and decide to do the winking with the most intrepid reporter in metropolis because...I'm sorry, but there's no way I can't see in what they're doing Lena is like something out of Superman's Lois? I think that shows me that yes (But clearly they only heat the water and put Kara and Lena in the platonic and constantly emphasize that they are friends because they don't want to offend anyone) (I should clarify that, although I love Lois, I feel Lena is farther away from being a damsel in distress in risky situations, she is more of a partner in destroying crime and saving the world) As I said earlier about the color range and the synchronization of themselves and Lois' outfits is already a pretty heavy point with rest to the visual narrative (which is incredibly important) to know that CW knows what he's into.

What S5 of Supergirl should have focused on.
I wanted to post this before the season finale, just because it may have a good finale that doesn’t make up for all the mistakes the show made along the way, especially the ones that could have been easily fixed with some proper storytelling that not only pleases the fans but better suits the story your trying to tell.
1. Kara and Nias friendship/ mentor ship. This season preferably 5B is somewhat focusing on Kara trying to catch Lex. Get proof on him that proves he is not what he seems to be. One of the ways she is doing this is through journalism. Instead of having Kara work with William she should have worked with Nia and here’s why. Not only does it make sense but it would improve the plot the only thing William has is a bad feeling about Lex and as good as that can be think of Nia who not only has the same feeling but knows he’s bad because she has her memories from Earth 38 while to back that up while on the other hand William does not. It’s a wild goose chase with him he doesn’t know what he’s looking for but Nia does. I mean just think that through who would make more sense for Kara to work with Someone who simply has a biased gut feeling that he’s bad because of what happened to his friend vs someone who has all of her memories and knows he is bad so she simply knows what to look for and can investigate what Lex changed comparing her new vs old memories. Its logistically makes more sense to use Nia. As important as diversity is and as much as the show should value its woman more above all that it just makes sense. When they first introduced Nia they implied they wanted them to have a similar relationship to Supercat this time reversed having Kara be the mentor which is great. It can show how much Kara has grown since season 1. Last season they started to do that but that’s been mainly dropped since 4B and its a real shame. They could have a similar type relationship if the show focused on them more but if they don’t then they won’t be able to because it won’t have the same amount dept. They’re showing vs telling but then again the show has been having a big problem with that lately with many characters/aspects of the show.
Also hes not even a good reporter/journalist Lex said he has been spoon feeding William all his info. It’s such a joke the show tried to amp him up as being such a good reporter yet he’s awful heck Winn could have done a better job at reporting.
2. Karas past/ trauma
Kara has been through so much this past season and it isn’t even finished yet. The fall out of her relationship with Lena. Lex rising to power once again and lastly LOSING HER ENTIRE PLANET AND FAMILY once again! The show really hasn’t discussed/ tackled Karas trauma/ past since s3 and even then it was only briefly and contained to one episode arcs vs in s1 when it was dispersed throughout the entire season. With everything that has happened this would have been a perfect season to do that and go back to its roots of S1 but in true Supergirl fashion they didn’t. So far has contained Kara only mentioning her past when it comes to Hope speeches which even those are rare now a days. Since crisis ended I think Kara has only mentioned it twice if at all and that’s when week of the villains forced her to (other Brainy bottling his earth). Kara has lost everyone once again in s1 it was Karas main mission to make sure that wouldn’t happen again she would save earth like she couldn’t save Krypton at whatever means necessary. Then in crisis she wasn’t able to do that and despite everything she did she wasn’t able to do so and lost everyone. Her sister her moms her friends everyone. She succeeded in getting everyone back but it shouldn’t be dismissed that she lost everyone yet it is. 5B should have heavily focused on this through the main of the week plotlines/ through her relationships with her friends and family. Like Melissa wants this finally should have been the season where Kara goes to therapy. Like I genuinely don’t get this show Kara lost everyone yet its barely mentioned Kara and Alex only share one scene discussing it and that was during the crossover in the legends episode it wasn’t even an episode of Supergirl that did it (big sigh) when another show does better things with your characters then you do that’s a problem. She lost her mom Eliza yet they have shared no scenes well none outside the funeral which had nothing to do with her and was another example of them not letting her grieve. Its so unrealistic that Kara wouldn’t have flown to Midvale the minute she was able to do to give Eliza the biggest hug it doesn’t matter if Eliza wouldn’t have her memories Kara would (the actress returned this season so she was clearly available to shoot more scenes yet didn’t because this is supergirl after all). Sidenote can they have Kara call Eliza mom more often like having her call her mom doesn’t make Alura her mom anyless she can have two moms because she actually does I know mind blowing. She lost her mom Alura twice yet they refuse to mention outside of a line or two that’s there more so to move along the plot. This has been a problem ever since they had her return in s3 but Kara has so many unresolved feelings and now she’s lost her twice and yet they still refuse so address it which is not only frustrating but sad for Kara as a character. She should be able to address these feelings about how she’s mad at her/ how she felt abandoned by her and still love her a the same time. Them showing Kara be mad at her doesn’t mean she loves her anyless and would be more healthy in the long run yet they won’t do it.
3. Lenas past, ptsd, and her mother.
They have been teasing for years whether not not Lena would turn truly evil but hinting at things over and over again and even though everything Lena has done proved the opposite it was still a lingering question. This was supposed to be the season that finally tackled this subject headon and show where Lena would land now knowing Kara/ Supergirl’s secret. I’m not upset Lena did questionable things going into this season I knew they would do so more then ever and from 5x01 that was adamant and I think it was very important to finally do for her character going forward to finally confirm that Lena was good/isn’t Lex. If they wanted to show and contrast how different Lena is from the Luthors there is so many others ways to do that, by just letting Lena be Lena is one of them. You’ve have been writing her that way for 4 YEARS, don’t change that by trying to make the show more interesting by adding “drama” you began to ruin it and an amazing character. That being said the way the show executed that was very poorly 5A was okay but 5B like it did with a lot of things was ultimately the down fall for this season. They’re first big mistake being Non-nocere. Now seeing 5x18 I get its overall idea and reason for being there but it still only should have been a side plot that was around for 4 to 5 episodes tops in the beginning of the season. It also really proves that it was never truly there for Lena it was a plotline made for Lex and to show just how manipulative he can be over which is so frustrating because once again they throw their main women characters to the side to help the men which are guest/minor. It was dragged on to long and stayed way past its prime to the point where it was unenjoyable even Katies amazing acting skills can only carry a bad plot line for so long. Non-nocere should have been there to help Lenas plot line not the other way around. It should have revolved around her story but not be her entire plot line for the season. I think them just going over Lenas trauma, abuse, neglect and abandonment issues would have been enough and a much more effective storyline then Non-nocere but if they wanted to use it then I think they should have atleast called back to Lenas past storylines. When Lena found about what Jack was doing with Biomax she was not only disgusted but terrified her feelings on that wouldn’t have changed so instead of it being nearly implied it should have been mentioned and it should have been one of the things that helped her realize how bad it was sooner. Her getting over the lo0se of Non-nocere and how she feels as though she failed once again would have been much better than the actual story of her using non-nocere itself. She was so afraid in season two that her feelings would get the best of her “I am very, very afraid of the person I might be”. This should have been explored way more and lastly instead of them only focusing on her mom for one episode for the plot (the medallion) it should have been a recurring storyline all season. Not only that she misses her but how her death affects her and how she puts her mom up on a pedestal because she never really knew her only what she remembers about her which isn’t a lot. The guilt she feels over her death etc. If they wanted to use it to move the plot forward they easily could have done that. There was a fan theory Lena’s mom was not only alive but behind Leviathan and that would have been so interesting. Here’s a woman she’s held up to such high standards all her life it would be interesting to see the effects of that. That maybe her mom wasn’t who she believed she was to be and that combined with Karas betrayal could have launched her going to the “dark side”. Also I love Katie and I love seeing more of her on my screen but they really couldn’t find another actress to play her mom or better yet not use a shitty wig. A wig isn’t gonna change anything we all know its Katie. It’s fine you used her many shows use there actors for multiple parts the wig was so unnecessary especially when it’s that bad (thank god Katie could pull off any look, ugly outfits and party city wigs included). Using her to play the mom wasn’t bad and would make a lot of sense as to why Lillian hates her so much she’s a spitting image of her mom. It doesn’t excuse the abuse Lena was a child but it makes sense. I mean she did say Lena looked so much like her etc. Then again shitty wigs are the least of their problems, fix your storylines above all else.
Bonus: You know your fan favorite couple is Lena and Kara and since this is supposed to be a season about their relationship just lean all in don’t tease and then not have them interact for 5 episodes in a row it’s frustrating.
This post is becoming a little too long so I may make a part 2 because I sure have a lot more to say.

The Queen's Husband - The Looks [1]
Tumblr media
I've been wanting to talk to you about some of the visuals for The Queen's Husband for a while now, so I thought I’d share some of the looks and outfits that I keep on my Pinterest board - so if you're interested in that keep reading!
The idea for this series came to me after watching Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, the later a recipient of the Academy Awards for Best Costume Design. Elizabeth I of England ruled in the 16th century, but if you read my story you'll notice that I never specified a time period for it - mostly because it's not even set in our world! It’s not meant to be too historically accurate, neither in it’s plot nor in it’s visuals.
That being said, when I look for outfit inspirations (or any other type of inspiration, really), I don’t really narrow it down to one specific era, but instead search for looks that I feel resonate with the plot and what the characters are going through, especially the Queen!
Since Tumblr only lets me posts 10 picture per post, here are the visuals for Chapter 1!
THE ARMOUR
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time we meet the Queen, she is overseeing the destruction of the enemy’s fleet by Ergona’s armada, thus winning a long and costly war. This was directly inspired by the scene in Elizabeth: The Golden Age where Elizabeth commands the English navy against the Spanish forces.
In that movie Cate Blanchett is wearing a fierce, gorgeous combination of armor and cape (the shots of the the cape blowing in the wind are peak cinematic drama). She's not wearing a crown, unlike Queen Margaret of Anjou (played by Sophie Okonedo in The Hollow Crown). Queen Margaret was one of the main figures of the War of The Roses and was praised by "her valiant courage and undaunted spirit" - which is exactly what I want the fictional people of Ergona to remember my fictional Queen as! The third picture is of incredibly gorgeous Aishwarya Rai in The Last Legion, a movie set in the 5th century. Her golden chainmail reminds me a lot of dragon scales, and I thought they might be fitting for our Queen to wear during the final battle of a war that cost her so much.
Pictures 4 and 6 are both examples or simpler armors. Keep in mind that Ergona is at war, therefore the financial resources are limited (more on that below), so the last thing the Queen is worried about is spending unnecessary money on a battle outfit. And lastly Zendaya, because she's Zendaya.
All of it to say that I’m still undecided about which armor is my favorite and I purposely didn't describe it because in my head the Queen is wearing a combination of all six pictures above 🙃
1. Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007)
2. Sophie Okonedo in The Hollow Crown (2016)
3. Aishwarya Rai in The Last Legion (2007)
6. Katie McGrath in Merlin (2008)
5. Zendaya in Versace at 2018's MET Gala
6.  Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
THE SUMMER DRESSES
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still on the first chapter, it is briefly mentioned that Ergona’s economy was improving after a long period of recession. So the Queen doesn’t keep many luxurious habits and that translates to her clothing - her outftits are fairly simple for a monarch. Michelle Clapton, Game of Thrones’ costume designer, did a fantastic job on adding small details about character’s personalities and journeys on their outfits (these articles about Sansa’s style evolution are very interesting) and I believe our Queen would be the same, choosing to display her power and position subtly rather than opulently. Belts, pins and embroidered sleeves would be worn constantly, as well as the color purple - known as the color of royalty.
1. Sophie Turner in Game of Thrones (2011)
2. Lena Headey in Game of Thrones (2011)
3. Millie Brady in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
⚔️ Please let me know if this kind of information interests you and if you’d like to see more. And if you have any suggestions, my ask box is always open!

Wasn’t gonna do a 5x11 post, but ya know what? It was a good one, and it’s fun to talk about stuff ya like.
SPOILERS.
Folks this one is LONG:
Admittedly, I don’t really understand what Brainy did with the rock and the stick, but it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter, because we get Motorcycle Brainy.
I appreciate that nearly every character on this show has the impulse to go out and get a black Stealth Outfit and procure a motorcycle whenever they gotta do clandestine, under-cover stuff. (See also: Lucy, Kara, Alex, J’onn.)
ALSO appreciate the ongoing commitment to characters showing they care via food, as seen in the Breakup Feast scene.
I’ve seen this episode four times and it’s only JUST occurring to me that Lex is grabbing some of Evil!Winn’s hair and not just creepily picking lint off his shirt, after their little chat.
Lena Laments to Lex! Lost Lots of Lobe Legwork.
And then NAT CITY TOY CON!
Lex’s action figure is safe for children ages 5 and up, AND the articulation allows for lots of action and superhero poses!
(That thing has NO visible leg or arm joints, Lex will not be doing ANY action posing, whatsoever. XD)
But, for real: It’s a pretty great prop. The packaging is spot on.
Love all the Supergirl action figures in the background too. (AND WITH THE NEW SUIT I am envious of Earth Prime.)
Get ‘im William, GET ‘IM.
The Lex and Kara scene was GREAT, loved the recorder smash.
Then dramatic slow walk with wiiiiiind, very nice.
CAPE SAVE
WINN
Absolutely love the moment between him, Alex, and Kara when he reveals he has a family.
AND HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER ARE LOVELY. THAT KIDDO IS SO CUTE.
Group huuuuuuug
‘I might have missed you just a little bit.’ ‘Me too, just a little.’ ‘Yeah, well, I missed you, like, A LOT.’
Side note: Really dig Winn’s superhero outfit.
“I wanted to apologize to you, for how I treated you after you took my mother’s medallion.”
*Skeptical Thor face* Is it really hers though?
(Answer: No.)
Okay OKAY now we get to the REALLY GOOD PART but first, a bit of appreciation for Winn referencing Sam Spade.
Alright, are we ready? ARE WE READY????
J’onn’s office (which is ALREADY a cool set) gets a SECRET ELEVATOR that leads tooooo...
THE TOWwait, whoops, almost forgot:
Kara’s total nerd reaction to the secret elevator and Alex’s elder sibling-ly ‘don’t push’ while actually pushing Winn are just. *chef’s kiss*
Okay, we’re back: THE TOWER!!!!!
Complete with PAPA BEAR HUG for Best Son Winn!
I like J’onn’s Martian vest, though I do feel like he should get some finger-less gloves, or something, to complete the look.
“In the future they call it the Hall of Justice.” “I like that.”
“So like STAR Labs.” “Or the Arrow Bunker.” “A place where my Superfriends can work, whenever they should need it.”
1.) I don’t know why the casual references to the other shows are throwing me, it’s not like they haven’t done it before...maybe it’s the fact that characters besides Kara have this kind of...lived-in familiarity with this stuff that’s otherwise been reserved for her, due to the nature of JUST the lead visiting the other shows. 2.) It occurs to me that Supergirl, the show, never had a central hub like the Arrow Bunker or Star Labs that’s just for the main characters. (Well, I guess the Office of Solitude counts? Kind of?) All of the sets (aside from Kara’s Loft and J’onn’s office which are like...living spaces) require at least a handful of extras milling around in the background. I don’t know where I was going with this....*Marge Simpson voice* I just think it’s neat. 3.) J’onn calling them his Superfriends!!!! :D
“What are you gonna call it?” “I was thinking...The Tower.” “COOL.”
Kara you lovable nerd, you.
The cut from the Martian Memory Meld to Winn’s puking is comedic gold.
“And James runs a small town newspaper and mentors children? That’s adorable!”
You can tell who’s only watching the show via gifs, because this line threw them.
Alex being like, ‘BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE.’ XD
Evil!Winn’s message has Jim Carrey Riddler energy. I think it’s that ‘Let’s play to win!’ bit that does it.
Aaaand some other stuff occurs. Lex and Brainy talk, The Kara and William stuff at CatCo, Evil!Winn’s warehouse lair.
But then BACK TO THE TOWER for more nerding out and some lovely heart-to-hearts!
Winn telling Nia about Nura: :D :D :D
And then OOOOOH BOY, my favorite scene: Kara and Winn.
It starts off great, with Kara being like, ‘I bet you’re a great dad.’ And then Winn gets to talk about being a dad! And naming his little girl after his mom! ‘It was either that or Winifred.’ Heart AND humor??? AND THEN: “KARA WAS AN OPTION.” AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW
BUT THEN WINN’S LIKE, ‘EVERYONE IN THE FUTURE NAMES THEIR KID KARA’ HECK YEAH THEY DO
And then the scene continued to be great but I will admit that I was gripped with a sudden, terrible fear that when Kara mentioned not being too thrilled with her ‘legend’ she was gonna talk about how she betrayed Lena yet again but THANK GOODNESS IT WASN’T THAT.
Instead what we got was this nice little exchange about Kara feeling like she’s endangering William, and Winn being like: ‘you put ME in danger but I always trusted you to protect me’ which is a LOVELY bit of trust and reassurance and a nice deconstruction of the idea that heroes have to distance themselves from others in order to best protect them. Supergirl the TV show has always said and will always say NOPE.
STRONGER TOGETHER.
“Being in your orbit...it’s inspiring.” “You.”
I JUST LOVE KARA HAVING THEM THERE GOOD FRIENDSHIPS.
Then Wicked Winn’s Warehouse! Followed By Lex on a Legion Ship! Learning of Leviathan!
The Obsidian pitch sounds TOTALLY legit, can’t IMAGINE how that could be exploited for evil.
Then Toyman’s Terrible Tigers! Which Brainy Tries to Tame!
And, look. You’re either the kind of person that watches these DCTV shows and rolls your eyes at on-the-nose music cues, ooooor you’re the kind of person that applauds that kind of go-for-broke attitude.
I am one of the latter.
(BUT it’s always just gonna be...really hard to top The Flash using “Flash Gordon” as Barry jumps into a black hole.)
ANYWAYS.
Always cool to see Kara speed folks away from danger. Very nice!
Whoops, little out of order here, I got excited: prior to the super speed, we have a Winn Stand-off.
(NGL the mental image of Winn singing “Nothing Left to Lose” with his evil counterpart has been amusing me all week long.)
But I digress! Toyman seems to perish in the explosion, but given that this is a two part episode...HMMMM. I think NOT.
(I mean, there’s also the end of episode cliffhanger, so. Yeah, obvious guess is obvious.)
But for the moment, Winn’s future is safe! Yaaaaay!
Then we get the cute moment between Kara and William and YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT, I SAID CUTE. BECAUSE IT WAS CUTE.
So please put me firmly in camp: Generally indifferent to ships but certainly not opposed to more cute reporter shenanigans.
(Also she wouldn’t let him have dinner alone with the world’s saddest sandwich.)
Instead William gets to come to GAME NIGHT!
Everything about that scene is. So good.
The friendly trash-talking! The glasses bit! ‘Marty’! William saving the Jenga tower for Kara! Space Dad being there!
(Oh, forgot another scene in my haste to rejoice over game night. Winn and Brainy. T’was good.)
(Oh, no, forgot another one: LENA HAS Q-WAVES. THE GOL-DANG MIND CONTROL PLOT CONTINUES.)
And then there’s the cliffhanger and the next episode preview WHICH I’m absolutely looking forward to because MORE WINN and also KARA AND WILLIAM GET TO SING “AFRICA”.
WHICH...thank you, show, for giving us “Africa” after revealing that was Kara’s other choice, but she went with “Intergalactic” back innnnn...season...three? Well the reveal was in season four. But karaoke night proper was in season three. And “Intergalactic” was great! But.
COME ON.
IT’S GONNA TAKE A LOT TO DRAG ME AWAAAAAAY FROM YOOOOOOOOOU
Anyways. Wonderful episode! A true season highlight! David did such a good job! EVERYONE did such a good job! This fandom is the worst! And I hope that they actually DO stop watching the show, because it will be better for their emotional well-being and mental health, as well as our own!

Whaaaaaaat - I can’t believe they really did that in the first hour
I always loved these crossovers not just for the scope and action but because I just love seeing all the heroes back together. So many of these characters have history together - especially Sara and Ray who went from one show to another - but also all the others over the years of these crossovers - that just watching them catch up makes me feel like being at friend reunion. Even relatively knew ones like Kara and Kate and Clark and Lois interacting with Earth-1 heroes was great.
The little moments like Barry and Oliver hugging. The heartbreaking ones like Sara interacting with both Ollies. And the big ones like the one at the end. They have so much history that it really hits. This is why Avengers movies hit so well too - we know what these people mean to each other and since we were there for it with them they mean that much to us too.
I loved Alex and Lena sciencing together. Lena Luthor, you were Earth-38′s only hope.
I loved all the cameos at the beginning - especially Wil Wheaton’s pseudo-Rorschach but also the small ones like Spike.
I loved seeing all the new Earths. And that they admitted that Legends travel multiple realities too and Star City 2046 was Earth-16.
I loved that we know now that DC Universe’s Titans and Doom Patrol are on Earth-9. And all the others - especially their numbers (even Star City 2046 Earth was based on the first airing date).
I always loved Lyla and it was awesome to see her as Harbinger since the first moments on Arrow. I hope will get more of her collecting heroes. I also loved Nash’s Pariah outfit but I hope they show us what actually happened in those tunnels and how he got it.
But the ending was the real shock. Even to the Monitor.
I mean we all knew Ollie was going to die but we all thought it’ll be at the end of the Crisis not at the beginning . Sure we saw him prepare to die all season on Arrow and then give Mia the suit and say there should always be a Green Arrow made it even more clear. Then there whole reminder he is sacrificing himself not just for the multiverse as a hole but for Barry and Kara in particular. But didn’t expect him to sacrifice himself right now for people of Kara’s Earth.
I wonder how this changes Monitor’s plans and what Pariah saw and Barry’s fate. Suddenly nothing is as planned.

TV Review: Crisis on Infinite Earths (Spoilers)
Tumblr media
Part One: Supergirl
Spoiler Warning: I am posting this review the day after the episode airs in the U.S. so if you have not yet seen the first part of the crossover or are waiting for the entire crossover to become available then don’t read on until you have.
Overview:
Tumblr media
We have SO MUCH to discuss! So much so that my Easter-Egg section which is usually more or less a minor tag-on at the end of these reviews is possibly going to be the same size as a lot of these other sections we are going through because, as promised by Marc Guggenheim, Easter has come early and we were treated to quite a few very tasty Easter-Eggs, one of which had me cheering at the screen.
But with Part One of this 5-episode crossover already giving us so much action, drama and emotion, it’s not only a question on how the Multiverse survives, but how the rest of the crossover does as well.
In the Beginning:
I love a good theory of evolution story, and we have heard in Arrow over the past season that The Monitor has been around for eons so it stands to reason he was around at the start of creation itself.
I just the sentiment of “In the beginning there was one singularity that soon spawned a multiverse”. It’s a lot like Doctor Who’s first rock theory from “The Runaway Bride”. I don’t know enough about the beginning of all life to actually determine what created the universe, I am more inclined to believe evolution than creationism, but I do like this idea of one reality spawning many.
I wasn’t so crazy about the visuals of this, especially considering in the past whenever we have viewed the Multiverse it’s always been within the Speed Force so we’re used to that blue energy rather than this red darker energy but it seems to be in-keeping with the theme of the crossover so I’m going with it.
Tumblr media
Also LaMonica Garrett, who deserves some sort of award recognition not only for appearing as a series regular in both Arrow and The Flash this season but also wearing what I’m sure is the heaviest outfit created, but selling it very well, even the cheesy prophet of doom voice he has down rather well.
Multiverse Annihilation:
Alright so this was obviously to be expected that we would see some if not a lot of Earths be destroyed during this crossover, but my god they don’t pull punches in starting by letting you know “Yeah we’re killing off a lot”.
Now the Earths we see erased during the opening of this episode are Earth-9, Earth-66, Earth-89 and Earth-X. Of those four, we have only ever seen Earth-X which was the Nazi-ruled Earth from two crossovers ago.
Now while there was a great and uncredited cameo here from it and we’ll discuss that further down, would anyone really be sad if a reality where the Nazis won and ruled was wiped out? I know there are inhabitants on that world and for the most part they are innocent and good people, but you would think just maybe find a way to evacuate them like they do on Earth-38 later and then if it goes extinct then fine because it’s not exactly a good reality.
Both Earth-66 and Earth-89 also has great Easter-Eggs just in the name and we’ll discuss that also further down but it is interesting that both Earths-66 and 89 only focused on Gotham City whereas this was the Supergirl episode of the crossover.
Rallying the Team:
Okay so Harbinger, who either was Lyla Michaels but is now an emissary of the Anti-Monitor or simply likes using her Task Force X codename, appears to all the major heroes just as we saw her do in last week’s episode of Arrow and summons them all to Earth-38 aka Supergirl’s Earth.
Tumblr media
I have to say as well, I know they’re on a TV budget and can’t really afford to have as many characters in one scene as say Avengers: Endgame did, but the fact they cheapened out and only gave us two Legends (Sara and Ray), rather then also showing Nate, Constantine, Mick and Charlie as well does seem a tad unfair especially considering they’ve been absent from screens the longest, some may say for the better considering the way their show is going.
Also, I will probably talk about this more with the Batwoman episode tomorrow, but they need to clarify the timeline of her show. When we first met her in Elseworlds last year she was Batwoman, but the start of her season saw her become Batwoman, and now she’s still hunting for Alice? How long has it been?
Also, as expected, Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman and his Lois Lane join the party after Argo City is destroyed and they send of their newborn son in a pod to safety. Argo City’s destruction also sees the death of Kara’s mother Alura played by Erica Durance but because I know who’s coming in tonight’s episode and the possibly jokes they’ll make about it I am okay with that as a Smallville fan.
Tumblr media
I do always like it in these crossovers when the heroes either first meet or reunite, this time Oliver’s daughter but from the future Mia Smoak and Batwoman are officially introduced as Batwoman reveals herself as Kate Kane, to Oliver’s bemusement.
Tumblr media
I do wish also that there was more time spent on character interaction because that is usually what I enjoy most about these crossovers, we had a little bit of that with Brainy and Ray, but Elseworlds I felt established a great repour for Batwoman and the Trinity yet that wasn’t really seen here.
My biggest complaint in this Supergirl episode though is that both Brainy and J’onn were never seen in their natural forms. I know it’s costly and timely to have them look like Brainiac 5 and the Martian Manhunter, but when they just look like Jesse Rath and David Harewood, no matter how great these guys are it’s a comic book crossover event and I would love to see more comic-booky character looks.
Alright so, Harbinger sits down the newly formed or reformed or updated team because they’ve come together now four times to help save a world or multiple worlds or now reality itself and just need to be called the Justice League and get it over with, but anyway I digress.
She instructs the team that the tower that randomly appears was one of many placed by the Monitor on Earths he thought were at risk...why he didn’t just place them on every god damn Earth if he could see the future is beyond me but that’s what we’re getting.
Tumblr media
I did like a couple of interactions before going into action where Oliver seamlessly interacted with Barry, Sara and Mia without making it seem forced.
Tumblr media
My favourite was the interaction with daughter Mia when he effectively passes on the mantle of Green Arrow to her despite the fact she’s not ready to lose him. I don’t know whether or not the spin-off series focusing on Mia as New Green Arrow has been confirmed yet but we know she will become Green Arrow in the near future.
So Oliver, Mia, Ray and Kate go off and battle the Shadow Demon army that are swarming the tower trying to destroy it for the Anti-Monitor, while Barry, Kara and Clark are off trying to save the people.
Tumblr media
I will admit Ray didn’t annoy me quite as much as he has done in recent seasons of Legends during this episode. I did love his interactions with Kate about her suit getting an upgrade and then her asking him to upgrade her batarangs, when Brandon Routh is good he is good and he is pulling double duty in this crossover so let’s hope he’s very good.
Also at this time Lois, because she needs something to do, has gone to Earth-16 with Brainy and Sara to retrieve baby Jonathan who wound up going through a wormhole and ending up on a parallel world...in the future...2046 to be exact.
This was, I feel, there for two reasons. 1) Another Easter-Egg appearance but this time in-house as it references Legends Season 1, but also 2) To still keep the events of “Star City 2046) canon despite the fact that in that episode Connor Hawke was actually John Diggle Jr. and in present day they are not only two separate people but also adoptive brothers...and also we know Oliver is supposed to die so how is he alive in 2046? Well it’s an alternate reality version who apparently can’t remember meeting Earth-1 Sara before.
Tumblr media
Our two other teams rallying really only serve to give the rest of the Supergirl cast something to do as Alex enlists Lena to help either build or activate portals to get the inhabitants of Earth-38 to safety while Dreamer and Kelly help get those inhabitants onto ships including the Legion Cruiser that J’onn is piloting because apparently Brainy was given it by the Legion before they left with Winn despite the fact they left in the Legion Cruiser. It doesn’t really make sense but I enjoy seeing that ship again so I am letting it slide.
Saving the Multiverse, Take 1:
This may be quite cynical for me to say but this is what the remainder of the episode was, the first attempt at saving the multiverse because Earth-38 is where The Monitor wanted the heroes to make their stand against the Anti-Monitor.
The Anti-Monitor does not appear in this episode and his army of Shadow Demons are 1) Poorly rendered compared to the likes of the Time Wraiths and 2) Quite easy to defeat when you consider Darkseid has Parademons and even Thanos with his legion of horribles.
Tumblr media
In any case while the Supers are trying to fix the tower to make the sky not red which works margingly well before they exhaust themselves, the other heroes are on the ground battling the Shadow Demons. I would have maybe liked if Ray had to cover the Supers while they were doing what they do because it seemed slightly daft that the Shadow Demons wouldn’t try and stop them but that’s what we got.
It was a very small-scale battle and I know we’re only in part 1 and usually it’s the final episode we get the big battle but this was still small scale considering what is at stake here.
Tumblr media
The biggest surprise of the battle was Kelly Olsen, who I haven’t really liked all season as she seems pointless other than just being Alex’s girlfriend who always needs saving, apparently has the Guardian armour left to her by James who retired from vigilantism to take over a newspaper in his old hometown and that’s why he left despite never actually being part of these crossovers, his dopplegangers were.
This was also a very low-powered battle. Think about it, the Supers, Flash and Atom all have CGI powers or tech yet we didn’t really see much of it, aside from the Supers trying to fix the tower. Maybe they’re saving the budget for later episodes but it better pay off.
The Monitor comes in as the prophet of doom to basically tell them that they’ve lost this battle but the war still rages, so transports everyone aside from Oliver to Earth-1 Star City.
Tumblr media
Oliver refuses to leave and makes one of the most poignent comments I have ever heard him say when The Monitor says “It’s time” and Oliver asks “Has everyone been evacuated” The Monitor responds with “No” so Oliver responds “Then it’s not yet time”. From the trailer I thought this to mean it was time for his death, but actually this was something The Monitor was trying to prevent as he did not see him dying this way, but he does.
Stephen Amell delivers both this line and scene very well. I have never been the biggest Stephen Amell fan and do feel as if he goes to the corny side a little too much but here, given the interactions he had with Barry, Mia and Sara in the episode, and knowing that Arrow is ending and he is supposed to die, it was minorly emotional which is the most emotion he’s ever got out of me.
Fallen Arrow:
Tumblr media
The Monitor returns a battered and bleeding Oliver to the Arrowcave in Star City Earth-1 where the rest of the heroes have returned to. Along with the news that they were somewhat successful at evacuating Earth-38 before it was destroyed, it seems that Oliver does actually die in this episode.
First of all, the fact that Supergirl is disheartened to know they didn’t save everyone is stupid because they only worked to evacuate one city compared to the entire planet. Secondly, we know that the episode of Arrow after this crossover will not include Stephen Amell...but to lose him on part one of the crossover does seem like a red herring.
Also I do not think he would die on any other show but his own and that part isn’t until January 14, so I don’t think this is the last of Oliver we’ve seen.
However, out of nowhere, Pariah appears. Pariah is Harrison “Nash” Wells who is the latest Harrison Wells to appear on The Flash and was the main focus of the Crisis teaser at the end of every Arrowverse show over the last two weeks.
I have to say 1) His suit makes him look like Doctor Doom and 2) I haven’t had the time to be as invested with this Wells as I was with Harry Wells or H.R. Wells or even Sherloque Wells to supposedly feel bad for him that he has become Pariah as his penance for freeing the Anti-Monitor.
He is however another harbinger which sounds stupid to say as there is a character literally called Harbinger but not only is Lyla one but so is the Monitor and now Pariah. I’ll be curious to see where this leaves him after the crossover because, unlike almost every crossover before, this is the one that promises ramifications across the multiverse.
Easter-Eggs:
Alright here we go, as I said in the opening Multiverse Annihilation alone, there were multiple Easter-Eggs that not only connect the Arrowverse to various other DC properties but also just have some very cool cameos.
I do have mixed feelings on what they’re doing, as it does look like they are actually trying to combine every DC TV property and possibly movie into the same multiverse which is crazy but it could possibly work.
Titans:
Tumblr media
This is the one I cheered at my screen for in a similar way to when they played the Smallville theme while showing their version of the Kent Farm in Elseworlds last year.
As mentioned before, one of the Earths wiped out by Antimatter is Earth-9. On this Earth we focus on San Francisco and two costumed heroes as Antimatter obliterates everything, Hawk and Jason Todd’s Robin. These characters are portrayed by Alan Ritchson and Curran Walters who are the actors portraying these characters in these suits in Titans over on DC Universe.
It was rumoured some time back that Titans would appear in this crossover but never confirmed, I know because for my job I’ve reported on everything to do with Crisis.
Now clearly there’s nothing to say these are the same characters from Titans, particularly as the end of Titans Season 2 saw Jason Todd leave the Titans and we don’t see Nightwing, Dove, Starfire, Raven or Gar, but considering Black Lightning is joining the Multiverse it stands to reason that Titans can as well.
This does also mean that Titans is now on Earth-9, while Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman and Legends are primarily on Earth-1 and Supergirl is on Earth-38.
Batman ‘66
Tumblr media
Speaking of other Earths, we have two others that are wiped out in the opening and both focus on Gotham City, why? Well we have Earth-66 which features an elderly gentleman in red walking his dog and seeing the red skies exclaims “Holy Crimson Skies of Death!”.
This gentleman is portrayed by Robin veteran Burt Ward and the character is confirmed to be Dick Grayson of the Batman 1960s series.
This is wrapped up very nicely and honoured in the fact that the Earth is numbered 66 to pay homage to the fact that 1966 is the year the Batman series begun.
Batman ‘89
Similarly, the other Earth we see obliterated is Earth-89. Here we see another Gotham City with a man reading an edition of the Gotham City Gazette that shows a distorted image of Batman with the headline “Batman Captures Joker”.
The man reading the paper is revealed to be Alexander Knox portrayed by Robert Wuhl, reprising his role from the 1989 Batman movie starring Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight and Jack Nicholson as The Joker.
It has also been rumoured before that Michael Keaton would reprise his role as Batman in this crossover, while I still choose to debunk these rumours, it’s official that the 1989 Batman is now canon within the Arrowverse. This takes the Arrowverse from simply being the DC TV Universe to an actual Multiverse spanning TV and Film, something the MCU hasn’t properly managed to do yet.
Star City 2046:
So as mentioned before, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s first season had an episode titled “Star City 2046″ where the Legends arrived in a dystopian Star City where Deathstroke’s son Grant Wilson was the new Deathstroke and Connor Hawke was the new Green Arrow and revealed as John Diggle Jr, Diggle’s son which at the time was crazy because Diggle had a daughter Sara before Barry created Flashpoint and replaced Sara with John Diggle Jr...keeping up?
So in the future of this Post-Flashpoint timeline that this universe is now in, we see that Connor Hawke and John Diggle Jr. are two separate people with Connor being the biological son of Ben Turner aka Bronze Tiger and John Diggle Jr now being the leader of the Deathstroke Gang.
This of course caused conflict with that episode of Legends, but because Legends never really follows the rules anyway I think everyone simply let it slide but now we have a loophole way of explaining things.
It turns out that when the Legends travelled to Star City in the year 2046, they also travelled to a parallel Earth, Earth-16. Now this is still in the future so I don’t think they’re saying it’s set, but what they are saying is it still happened and they didn’t overwrite their own lore basically.
We do only see Oliver here, who still has a cybernetic arm from before which Sara remembers and uses to her advantage, but Oliver doesn’t seem to remember that this Sara is not his Sara despite them having a rather candid conversation in that episode.
Also Joseph David-Jones portrayed Connor Hawke of that Earth in “Star City 2046″ so of course it makes sense for him to return as the Connor Hawke of Earth-1 in the future, but why didn’t he appear in this episode if he is already part of the cast of Arrow this season?
The Ray:
Briefest of cameos and unfairly uncredited in my opinion but we see a brief glimpse of Ray Terrill aka The Ray portrayed by Russell Tovey flying through the skies of Earth-X before being obliterated. Tovey first portrayed The Ray in “Crisis on Earth-X” two years ago and was part of the first openly gay male relationship in comic-book history with Wentworth Miller’s Leo Snart.
He then went on to voice the character in his own short-lived animated web series Freedom Fighters, but to see him return in live-action even for a brief uncredited cameo shows how much Tovey respects both the character and this universe and I love him even more for that.
Jonathan Kent:
Tumblr media
Alright so I’ve mentioned baby Jonathan a couple of times because we knew Lois was pregnant at the end of Elseworlds last years however now seeing Jonathan Kent Jr. I am excited for what this could mean going forward.
In the comics, Jonathan is the son of Superman and Lois Lane given the full name Jonathan Samuel Kent to honour both his grandfathers and is a Kryptonian-Human hybrid who becomes the new Superboy and teams up with Damian Wayne, the Teen Titans and the Legion of Superheroes.
So when Brainy mentioned him going through a wormhole and time-travelling I thought they may be setting up that he’ll be taken in by the Legion, Mon-El may return with a grown-up version of him later in the season or something, but no he’s safe and Lois has him back.
Tumblr media
The one thing I will say about him is I hope the writers don’t relegate Tyler Hoechlin’s already minimal Super-Antics into simply being Super-Dad. The odd dad line is funny but I hope that’s not all he is.
I am going to wait until Part 5 to rank the entire crossover but if they keep the momentum that Part 1 managed to accelerate then this could be the greatest TV accomplishment ever and could even rival Avengers: Endgame in how they literally bring worlds together.
So that’s my review of Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One, what did you guys think? Post your comments and check out more DC TV Reviews as well as other TV Reviews and posts.

Alex/Lena - 51. Accidentally Married and 97. Time Travel
“Are you kidding me? Out of all the time periods we have to get dropped in, we have to get dropped off in the most sexist era?” Alex grumbles as she shoves the dated newspaper towards Lena, who’s been reading it with awe right beside her.
Lena takes the paper with fascination and soaks up all the words.
Alex is still casing the area, wondering where they’re going to get clothes and blend in a bit better.
“Alex, we’re in Boston,” Lena points out as if she’s got an idea. She grabs Alex’s hand and Alex unconsciously looks down at them. “While the technology is still a bit archaic, my alma mater has researched time travel for decades. There’s still research that we can use to engineer our way back.”
Alex brightens, ignoring how warm she feels with Lena’s hand in hers. “Great, alright, cool. We will work out a plan as we go along. We just first...need some clothes alright? People have been staring at me for the last twenty minutes.”
Lena smiles as she fixes the collar of Alex’s leather jacket. “It’s because you look dashing like this and they don’t know what to do.”
Alex looks down at her outfit before staring at all the women in floral print dresses milling about. She shakes her head. “Stupid gendered clothing.” She tugs at Lena’s hand. “Come on, let’s get out of here.”
It turns out, they underestimate how archaic the technology is. Most of the theories that have been worked out are still written in notebooks as formulas and hypotheses. They have to stay there for awhile, which means they need identities in order to live and work, and for Lena to attended MIT.
“I’m very surprised how happy you are to go back to school,” Alex says as she fixes her nurses cap. She grumbles at the outfit she’s been forced to wear for the last three days while she investigates a case at the hospital.
Lena rushes around in her half buttoned pink chambray blouse and trousers grabbing books to throw into her backpack. “I loved MIT when I attended. To see my professors in their youth and prime is exciting. They are less embittered by the lack of funding and support and are still starry eyed at the notion of space travel. It’s quite a marvel to get a refreshed perspective.”
Alex laughs before approaching Lena.
They’ve been living together for two weeks in a small apartment. It’s taken them some time to get things in order with their identity and their work. Alex picked up being a gumshoe, while Lena attended courses. Capital had been the hardest since neither of them had credit; it was mess because neither of them had husbands either to apply for credit, which meant they had to do a bit of finagling with Alex’s identity. Thank god for gender neutral variants of her name.
“Try not to get into any fights today though,” Alex warns as she stops Lena in place to help button her shirt.
Lena rolls her eyes. “Try not to get into any fights today,” she echoes the sentiment affectionately.
They get to two months before Lena drunkenly talks to Alex about how they’ve actually been doing the last two months.
“I’m scared, Alex, what if I can’t find a way to get us back home?” she sips the rest of her wine and curls up on the couch beside Alex.
Alex lets her cuddle up close because for someone who likes to pretend they’re unlovable and untouchable, Lena is quite the opposite. She wraps her arm around Lena protectively. “Don’t worry, if anyone can get us home it’s you.”
“What if I can’t? There are just so many limitations,” Lena insists. “I don’t want to fail you.”
Alex pulls back just enough for Lena to look at her. “You haven’t failed me,” she says incredulously. “You aren’t going to. If you feel like you can’t do it, then why don’t we work together to figure it out then?”
Lena stares at Alex with misty eyes. For a second, her eyes flicker to Alex’s lips before she licks her own. Alex suddenly notices their proximity and her eyes flicker to Lena’s lips.
“Okay,” Lena whispers, breaking a spell between them. “Let’s work together.”
It’s when Alex goes to MIT with Lena for the day that she bumps into someone vaguely familiar. It’s one of Lena’s classmates. Marty Stein. Then it hits Alex.
“I know how to get us home!” Alex says as soon as they make it into Lena’s lab. Lena’s attention is immediately caught. “We call in the Legends.”
“The who?” Lena asks in confusion.
“The Legends, they’re time travelers that protect the fabric of time by fixing anachronisms,” Alex explains quickly, feeling the excitement. “We need to get a message to them to let them know we are here.”
“How will we do that?”
Alex thinks about it briefly before she settles on. “You exist.”
Lena Luthor doesn’t exist as far as Lionel knows. Carrying a Luthor name still has the same weight it does in the 1970s as it does in 2018. It’ll cause a stir that another Luthor exists outside of the family line. Lena Kieran Danvers gets changed to Lena Kieran Luthor.
With a bit of whispers sent out about time travel and the bastard daughter of Lionel Luthor, easy enough, the Legends show up in the Waverider. Sara Lance greets them from the cargo bay of her ship with open arms.
Lena is in awe at the ship as she feels a bit of jealousy when she sees Sara throw her arms around Alex with a familiarity that seems to run more intimately than the two months they’ve actually lived together.
“Congratulations on your wife apparently,” Sara whispers playfully in Alex’s ear.
Alex turns red. “Shut up, jerk. Thanks for picking us up.” She’s relieved to be on her way home but when she looks back at Lena, she thinks about the two months they’ve shared together. All the sleepovers in their beds and sharing the apartment, living their lives together and part of her misses it already, but staring at Lena she feels happy.
The feeling she’s been suppressing for the sake of them making their way home can finally be acted on because the stakes aren’t high anymore and Alex can think and feel more clearly.
It’s not until later that Alex notices how quiet Lena gets when they’re sharing a room.
“In a ship this big, I’m pretty sure Sara can spare another room,” Alex suggests, wondering if Lena’s silence has anything to do with the fact that they’re still sharing a space.
“I’m sure Captain Lance will be happy to accommodate you,” Lena snaps quietly as she changes into modern clothes.
Alex quirks her head. “Are you jealous right now?”
Lena forces out a laugh. “Jealous? I have no right to be. She’s your friend as am I.”
“You’re my wife.” Alex says moving close to Lena.
Lena scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest defensively. “It was just a sham to get us some credit cards when we were stuck.”
Alex clicks her tongue as she slips her arms around Lena’s waist. Lena doesn’t resist, she relaxes into Alex’s arms like she always does when she gets home and places her hands at her shoulders. “When you changed your name, I also had to change my name back, so Sara would be sure it was me. Alex Danvers and Lena Kieran Young are married, but so are Alexandra Danvers and Lena Kieran Luthor.”
“What are you saying?” Lena self consciously asks as she stares into Alex’s eyes.
“I want to stay with you,” Alex answers as straightforward as she can. She can see the doubt and worry, so she leans in and kisses Lena like she’s wanted to so many times over the last couple of months. Lena gasps into the kiss but she smiles and kisses back.

Some Thoughts on Supergirl 3x10 (Spoilers)
I guess I’m just gonna do this for every episode now? Why not :)
I love Brainy!! I still think he looks really weird and he deserves better, but writing and acting is on point, and he’s amazing. As he should be.
I love that they referenced Streaky the Supercat. That whole scene with Kara and Streaky was great. This show always excels at emotional moments like that.
Also liked the reference to Winath and Ayla Ranzz/Lightning Lass! I’d love for them to work in more easter eggs of other Legionnaires like that. (And I hope this means we get to see Lightning Lad later, since that’s his home planet and his sister!)
The Legion’s explanations for why they’re here continue to become more and more fishy. Your DNA is not a good place to hide and retrieve information from, and even if they had done that, I don’t think it would stopped them from fighting. They could just leave a sample of their DNA on the ship. They’re here on purpose, for a reason, but they also know that they can’t interfere too much.
The Legion being Bon Jovi fans was great, and Brainy flying the ship into the fight with Reign blasting Living on a Prayer was hilarious. I love that Mon-El’s efforts to brush up on pop culture last season are now plot relevant, since that was one of my favorite parts of his character.
The Legion outfits are growing on me, especially Imra’s. The design is really nice, and it looks great.  I’m not fussed at all about Mon-El’s suit, since I think it’s temporary and I’d imagine he’ll be getting the suit Winn was working on. So that’ll probably be based on the red suit + blue cape look he has in comics. Brainy’s purple suit I feel would’ve looked weird with the blue skin so I get why they didn’t do that, and anyway his weird skin/hair is the bigger thing here, not his suit. I still wish Imra had the red/pink and white color scheme, but they did kind of try to do that with the dark pink/purple side panels on her suit. And I guess it makes sense for the Legion’s outfits to be black, since this version of the Legion comes from a more post-apocalyptic future.
A theory: It looks like by helping fight Reign the Legion is changing the timeline, so what if by the end of the season they fix things so that their future ISN’T post-apocalyptic, and is happy the way it’s supposed to be? And that’s when they get their colorful suits? (And can I just say that I would LOVE a Legion of Superheroes spinoff show? It’d be so much fun! They could do transdimensional time travel crossovers with Legends of Tomorrow.)
This got long so the rest is under the cut.
I really liked the scene where Imra convinced Mon-El that the Legion should help. That’s the Saturn Girl I know and love. :)
It’s interesting that they gave Imra telekinesis! There’s precedent for that in the Legion of Superheroes cartoon, so it’s not out of nowhere. I really hope she’s still firstly a telepath though. I kind of think this may come up next episode, with Psi being part of the mission to Fort Rozz. If she tries to double cross them Imra would be the natural person to go up against her, since they’re both telepaths. (And speaking of cartoon precedent, apparently Brainy is blue in JLU, so that’s a thing… Still doesn’t explain the hair though.)
I wish this show could find a balance between too much Mon-El and too little. He did get too much focus last season, but he’s had 0 character development since he’s been back, and he hasn’t actually done anything noteworthy either. Everything about him has been focused on Kara’s angst about him being married. And yeah, of course it’s her show and she should very rightly be at the center of it, but if they’re gonna push Karamel as a relationship-(and I still do think that it’s endgame based on how they’ve been writing it even this season- then Mon-El needs screentime and things to do and development as well. (Even if Karamel is over Mon-El still needs more things to do while he’s here, after the emphasis he had last season. This is same problem I have with the lack of James post-s1.) I guess it’s very likely that they’re holding off on it because they need to get the reveal of the Legion’s true mission and stuff out of the way in order to do it, in which case this is a moot point for now and we’ll just have to wait. I miss dorky happy Mon-El though. And I want to see him actually leading the Legion instead of just talking about it.
I feel like they might have Kara try to date Brainy for a bit now, and I’m totally okay with that. :) The more Brainy the better! Though I feel bad for Brainy in that case, because it sounds like he really likes her, and I don’t think Kara will feel as strongly about him as he does about her.
All of the Danvers sisters moments continue to give me life. Kara and Alex’s relationship is so so good and should always be portrayed as the most important on the show, because it’s the most important to Kara. I’m so glad they fixed this problem from last season.
Kara accepting that she is Kara Danvers and not just Supergirl and then making peace with the Mon-El situation was really good. I loved how they used her glasses for that. I hope they keep going with the humanity theme though, it’s been amazing so far this season and ties into Reign’s story really well too.
I’m liking Lena/James so far and I’m interested to see how this goes. I do hope they bring up how suspicious he was of her last season though, this last episode kind of glossed over that and I think it’d be an interesting thing to discuss.
Reign continues to be an amazing and cool villain. And they did an A+ job on her costume design.

Supercorp “Crow” AU, with Lena
So, it’s been a long while since I touched this space.  ;-)  However, I recently got an idea for a fic and I would like to see someone write it! With “Supergirl” ending, I figure I may as well throw any ideas I get out there, and see what sticks!  :-D
I recently read a “Crow” AU where Lena was literally a crow, and it was pretty interesting. But that got me thinking. Would anyone care to try an actual “The Crow” AU? *smiles evilly*
Lena is caught up in a Cadmus plot. She’s ambushed in her own building, and unfortunately this time Kara isn’t in time to save her. Lillian and/or Lex tire of trying to sway her over to their side, and they simply have her tortured and killed this time. This can be post or pre-Season 5, but preferably around Season 4 or 3, so that they have a good working relationship; and Kara and Lena are still close friends. Lena isn’t just temporarily incapacitated, she’s actually dead. But the underworld, realizing the depth of unfairness Lena’s life has been, and the tragedy of her end, sends a crow to bring her back, and set things right. Lena must hunt down the remaining members of Cadmus and their leader, in order to truly move on.
At first, Kara and Alex, and the others are horrified at the new vigilante that is brutally hunting them down Cadmus members, without remorse. But after running into her, Kara realizes that there’s something very familiar about this vigilante, even if she’s doing her utmost best to mask it. She’s even more horrified when she realizes it’s Lena. Alex doesn’t believe her at first, and thinks she’s delusional, but then they research the legend of the Crow, and eventually she comes to realize that it’s true.
Kara is thrilled. Lena is back! But there’s a problem. Once Lena completes her mission, she will move on permanently from the mortal world into the afterlife. Lena must now face a choice: does she kill the last remaining member of Cadmus and finish avenging both herself and all the aliens that have been killed, or does she let them go, so that she can stay with Kara on Earth forever, knowing that she will never get her old life back?
There’s no option of imprisonment or redemption for Lillian or Lex; they must die, in order for Lena to find her way back ‘home’, and her birth mother in the afterlife.
Obviously, Lena being dead and Kara having nothing to lose is the push that finally gets Kara to confess her feelings for her. ;-)  They spend some nice moments together, but the lingering question of Lena’s impending fate is one that looms over every interaction they have. Bonus points if Kara starts wearing the black outfit that Superman is famous for, in mourning of Lena, after she is killed and becomes a more morose Supergirl, lashing out at National City for never giving Lena enough respect while she was alive, and expecting her to move on quickly.  ;-)  Dr. Fate or Zatanna, or Constantine or any of the DC magicians could have a nice little cameo too, as the occult expert who explains the mission that Lena is now on...and the terrible consequences if she doesn’t complete it; how lonely of an existence it will be for her. I have the basic story beats worked out, as you can see, but I don’t have the time and energy to write something this massive; not with my various crossovers and my Silent Hill fics that I have to finish (if I ever get to them), and my health is also becoming kind of crappy, further taking away my motivation for writing.
Anyone care to take it on?
I will give you lots of virtual cookies, and be forever grateful if you do.  ;-D

DCTV Crossover: Crisis on Earth-X Part 3 & 4
I just rewatched Part 1 & 2 of the crossover and something I didn’t catch the first time is how little Oliver and Sara are interacting. I’ve always really enjoyed their dynamic and all of the history between them, but they’ve barely spoken to each other in the crossover so far. I know Ollie is preoccupied with Felicity and Sara is dealing with Alex, but still I hope they have at least one convo. Though I suspect Sara is about to be very busy dealing with Snart. Also, I really enjoy Felicity and Iris’s friendship. It’s so obvious to me how much better friends they are the Iris and Caitlin, which is sad.
Anyway, here we go… The Flash 4x08
Stein seems to know alot about this :(
This gay prisoner :(
Aw Sara comforting Alex YASS!
Cisco! Dude, about damn time
Why didn’t the nazis take that ball from Wells?
I swear if this nazi bitch does anything to Kara
I am so not surprised Iris and Felicity have to save everyone. Girl Power indeed
“Because I like men and I like women.” SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE SCUM IN THE BACK!! Well thats not the only reason tho, right?
Omg Sara! My poor bb! I HATE anti-Quentin
Haha that gay prisoner is us to Snart “About time!” Are they in love?
Whoa who is this bright fellow?
“We’re not so different from them.” Kara freakin Danvers
Okay but if I hear the words “aryan perfection” ONE MORE TIME
“What do you care if I take your heart? You’re not using it.” damn
Iris and Felicity are the dream team
WINN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My boy is here! In the same episode as Cisco!!!! And he has a FUCKING BEARD!!!!!
GENERAL SCHOTT!!!
“Fingerless gloves” Haha Sara
Alex, thats not how dopplegangers work! Why does no one understand that?
Alex and Sara bonding over their sisters is everything
Oh the bright guy is The Ray from CWSeed? Gotcha, never seen that tho
I KNEW they were in love!
I kinda like General Schott
Why does she have to be awake? Doesn’t seem medically relevant
I love how Kara’s last threat is “My cousin will find you” when it should be “Lena Luthor will find you”
Terminator reference! ……..aaaaand now there is a robot, damn
An anti-waverider?!?
Haha Felicity has them fucked up
Oliver get on with it, anti-Quentin is suspicious
What’s doppleganger!felicity gonna do with that gun?
Red Tornado? Throwback
Kara Danvers you beautiful self sacrificing angel *wipes away a single tear*
I ship The Ray and Snart so hard
Agent Canary make such a good team
God Red Tornado looks awful
NOOOOO! Don’t split up! You’re stronger together!
No stein no! Don’t do it! SHIT!! Its happening
Legends of Tomorrow 3x08
Jax yelling for Stein is killing me
Haha Snart, I hate his voice, but I miss his humor
GET THIS PSYCHO AWAY FROM KARA!!!!
RAY!!! I have honestly never been so happy to see the Atom
Hahaha “How was the wedding?”
An army would have been nice, but legends will do
Felicity protecting Kara! YASS!
“As far as final words go, those aren’t bad.”
Ooo our Oliver has their Kara!
“I love a good pop culture reference in a crisis” Hahahaha Cisco is me
“I just want to be with you.” way to get your priorities straight, Ollie
Oh god, if they make Jax take the firestorm cure and then Stein dies that’s gonna tear Jax up
Mick was a hero on Earth X trying to save cops from a fire? Nice
Caitlin, this outfit is...lovely
I’m gonna need Alex and Caitlin to patch up Stein, stat
Mr. Terrific is still a terrible name, much worse than The Ray
WHY ARENT WE FIXING STEIN?!? Get him into surgery or something!
Don’t you dare let do, Jax! This isn’t the Titanic! There was plenty of room on that door for Jack and there has got to be a way to save Stein now!
Jax: “I can’t do this!”
Me: *crying* bitch, me too
Oh no, we gotta watch his wife and daughter find out? Fuck
There is the Sara & Ollie interaction I was looking for, however brief
Ha Zari finally broke down and got a costume
Caitlin: “Great speech”
Ollie is so pissed
*rousing dramatic music* “Now let’s go kick some ass.”
Call in the National Guard!
This hero walk tho
I’m cool with Mick roasting Nazis
I do so love Cisco Ramon
KillerFrost did a superhero landing!!! Love seeing her working with the team
STOP with the heat vision thing!
“Nailed it!” haha
Please just fucking end it. Kill him just this one time
NOOOOO! Don’t let him go! I’m sick of his ass
Aw Ollie wasn’t gonna shoot the man while he was down, nice
I guess, he is technically a man of steel :/
I’m sure Earth-X will require a lot of punching
Snart’s staying? But...but their love. Why?
“All he wanted was to come home” Holy fucking shit *bursts into tears*
“It’s a hug thing” haha :) I still love Agent Canary, friends, fucking, or fighting
The fist bump
Barry just snatched John up, damn, rude, not cool
Why wasn’t he invited to the wedding to begin with?
Oh so now Felicity is the maid of honor, I see how it is
Haha John is such a buff minister
“Friend, partner, *cough* sister *cough*”
They do have such a beautiful relationship/friendship tho, so I’ll continue to try and overlook the practically siblings thing
Felicity! You’re stealing their moment! Not cool!
Damn, just be married already all of you
Jonas? Wow
So that was actually really good! Despite all the Nazi ugliness, I actually liked this crossover way more than last years. I think, the stakes felt higher somehow, and we had even more heroes, but it somehow felt more organized to me. The dynamics and friendships and dialogue seemed smoother to me and way more fun, yet less cheesy. I of course loved have Alex there, and Killer Frost too. I liked it alot. I think, attention was appropriately split and all the subplots and interaction were given proper attention and care. Overall, well done

Lena and I were sitting in the living room with Alex and Maggie. We were mostly bored because Emily wasn't there asking us a million and one pquestions. We were just reading books until Lena had asked me a question.
"Kara?" My raven beauty asked.
"Yeah?" I asked, wondering what the question was and hoping she's not turning into another Emily instead.
"When you first saw me, what did you think of me?" She asked, her green eyes staring in to my blue.
"Why?" I asked
"Maggie said that when you were at the bar, all the girls were looking at you and you didn't pay attention to them. And they were the sexy kind too! Why didn't you do anything? Where you going to cheat on me? What did you even think?" I looked at Maggie. She had just shrugged.
"Luthor has a right to know little Danvers, they were all over you with that dress. But I was glad you ignored them." Maggie said laying on Alex's lap.
I laughed at her questions, looking at her with a smile.
"The answer to the first question was because it wasn't you, I didn't do anything because I have what is mine and will forever be mine, you. My friend, my dairy, my smile and laugh, my-soon to be wife, my family, my world. Why would I give that up for anything, especially for a horrible one night stand that would ruin everything ? I wouldn't, because I have the best thing yet, I would never cheat on you"
Lena blushed. I wasn't finished just yet.
"And what I thought of you. Well to be honest, when I first saw you I though you were a cute, sexy, adorable badass CEO, I was scared of you for a second, but then I got to know you so much better and your walls which were very hard to break under that facade of yours, were broken. When I finally saw the real Lena that I wanted to see,I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you." I said with my hands intertwined in her hands, I heard sniffing from my back, I turned around and saw Alex and Maggie on my couch crying, Lena had put her arms to my back an kissed me, after a second she looked at me sobbing her eyes out and she hugged me. Maggie had punched Alex on the arm.
" Why don't you talk to me like that?!" She said sniffing. Alex just laughed and shrugged.
" I'm sorry Kara, I know that you wouldn't do that but I just got worried that you would leave me for someone else." Lena said softly
I laughed, my phone started to ring. It was Hank.
" Little Danvers" I said clearing my throat.
" There's an emergency, something only you, Lena,Emily and Felicity can stop it, don't bring any one else." Hank said. "Come to the DEO and get your suits. Lena can come for the undercover mission." He said. I smiled, maybe I could give Lena a little gift for telling me about her jealousy and show her that she is and will always be mine. The phone had hung up an I looked at both of them.
"There's an emergency, Lena?" I asked her.
"Hmm?" She asked.
"You ready for your first mission?" I asked with a smile on my face.
" With you, I'm ready for anything." She said getting her coat. We said goodbye to Alex and Maggie.
"No sex while we're gone!" Lena yells out.
" It was one time!" Maggie yelled. We started laughing. We got in the black SUV and Lena started driving.
"Kara?" She asked, I looked up.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Did you mean what you said earlier?" She asked with a worried look on her face.
" Everything and more" I said with a Danvers smile on my face.
When we got to the DEO we saw Felicity and Emily already there, Lena looked at Winn.
" Why are we here?" Lena asked Winn and Hank.
" Before you meet you enemy in 10 hours time . You need your equipment. Winn has them and we need you to try it out." Hank said.
We walked to the costume room, where Hank put in the code in. We saw a green suit.
" Lena, this would be your suit. Your powers are actually bionics, super speed, strength, the whole shindig."
"Since when do people still say shindig?" Emily asked.
I do, now before I was so rudely interrupted. You would've been training today but I'll talk you through it, it's inspired be green lantern but Kara thought that you would be ready to wear it." I smiled holding the ring and handing it to her.
" Here's your device, if your not ready tell us." I said holding her hands.
" I am, let's do this" She said locking her eyes with mine." How do I do it?" Lena asked me, I put the ring on her finger and it started glowing, in a couple of seconds she had been in her super suit. To be honest she looked really sexy in it.
"Winn!, how do I do this?" Lena asked, I giggled.
"Kara this is not funny!" Lena had said to me. Then we all started laughing. When we
" I'll help her, Kara, Emily, Felicity. Your turn. " Winn said, I had put on my suit and it was just what I had imagined it to be.
"Thanks Winn" I said to him while flying around the DEO.
" Emily and Felicity's is inspired by the legend of Korra, try it on."
" We look good, as always" Emily said Trying on the replica of Korra's outfit
"I must admit Winn, you did a good job, but who is mine inspired from?"
"Asami Sato, here's you costume inspired from."
"She's an engineer right?" Felicity asked. Winn chuckled
"You can say that" He said. He clapped his hands together to get us together.
"So are you guys ready for your first mission?" He asked
" Hell Yeah!"

So what I am doing right now is essentially elaborate fanfiction. Season 2 of Supergirl was written extremely clumsily; it had a few great ideas that didn’t get explored enough and a few horrible ideas that got explored too much. The trailer and recent announcements that Mon-El will return really don't inspire much confidence and I am not even sure I will continue watching if things will proceed as poorly as I fear they will.
We reached the point that I am convinced a fanfic writer can do better, and so a fanfic writer shall.
To further handicap myself, I won't retcon the established plans. Reign is still gonna show up, Maggie is still there but is getting even less screentime, Supercorp and Karolsen are still not happening, Kat gets to be in 4 episodes tops and Alex's dad is still out in the woods somewhere. Okay? Okay. Let's get started.
So let’s make like the Supergirl staff and put Mon-El first. Short version: no, Mon-El isn’t in this season. If it were up to me, we’d be done with his character the moment season 2 ended. His arc was done. He serves no further purpose other than distracting attention away from Kara. Any capable writer would at least give Kara time to mourn and/or develop before even hinting at bringing him back, otherwise what was the point? So, Mon-El is benched for at least 1 season. I’d bring him back for the season dealing with Kara’s clone (whenever that may be) because there he may actually add to the plot. If however we are contractually obliged to keep him in the CWniverse, I would have him recruited by the Legends of Tomorrow. This would be a chance for him to further explore what it means to be a hero, give him a chance to show us what he's like without Kara's infinite patience/support and actually place him in the position of the moral compass for a change. That could actually be fun. Show us what season 2 kept telling us and actually let him show that he is a hero now. Get Steel out, get Valor in. They basically have the same powerset anyway. Instead of history expert Nate, they now get alien expert Mon-El.
Now let’s discuss Kara’s arc; 5 words that were never spoken by the writing staff of season 2. Now Kara is understandably a little lost after the events of season 2. She's upset, she feels alone, she barely shows up to work at all. Of course, she insists she is fine, but she doesn't conceal her emotions very well. We get glimpses of her Scooby Gang visiting her, trying to cheer her up. We get Winn, Lyra and James visiting her, trying to take her mind off of things by explaining monopoly to Lyra. Lena calls her, very blatantly hinting at an invention that could easily make the frontpage of Catco magazine. She is genuinely surprised to be visisted by Snapper instead. Eliza visits, J'ohn visits, even Maggie and M'Gann visit, but no one really gets through to her. Finally, we get a very emotional couch scene with Alex, who tells Kara to grieve for as long as she needs. It’s not strange, no one thinks less of her for it, she has every right to take some time to heal.
But this is a superhero jam, so things needs to go down and we get the first appearance of Reign. She just crash-landed on earth and is lashing out, laying waste to an entire city. J'ohn tries to go at it alone with M'Gann, but it is swiftly made clear that they lack the firepower. Kara is called into action and when Alex explains that J'ohn is in danger, she leaps right out the window. Reign, being made by a Zor-El, ceases her violence against the martians when she sees Supergirl appear and recognizes her crest. The two begin their fight, while Reign demands to know why she was made. A question Kara can't answer. Mirroring Man of Steel, we see some large scale destruction going on. Kara saves who she can, but it only results in her further getting pummeled. Reign being one of the big bads this seasons beats the snot out of Kara, but because of a timely intervention of Alex, Kara manages to wound her enough to force a retreat, ending the first episode.
The second episode we find Kara in civilian clothes at the DEO. The news shows Supergirl fighting Reign and blaming her for yet another alien that attacks humanity to get to her. Kara tries to shrug it off, but is put on the same story by Snapper. "The Daxamites were looking for her specifically, this grey woman is after her as well. Grrrr endangering the public grrrrr." Kara tries to defend herself, but Snapper explains that objectively, we are 2-for-2 in hostile alien invasions seemingly caused by Supergirl. To make matters worse, Livewire has been spotted in National City again, and seems to be calling out Supergirl specifically to get under her skin. Livewire goads her, taunts her and seems to have gotten significantly more powerful. Finally, she goes for the cheap shots and mentions 'that cute sidekick that used to hang out with her.' and asks if he kicked the bucket so soon, laughing at his incompetence. Kara loses it and Winn depowers Livewire through science magic and James’s help. Even beaten to near death, Livewire continues taunting Supergirl, finally daring 'the girlscout' to kill her already. Kara seriously charges her eyes, and screams in anger, about to kill a person, but Alex talks her out of it. Livewire is put into DEO custody by a trembling Kara, who begins breaking shit in a rage the moment she is out of sight. She tries to explain her frustration, but breaks down crying and is hugged by Maggie and Alex in an attempt to calm down.
We end episode 2 with a red streak in space, getting closer to earth, zooming in on the US, zooming in further to National City, zooming in further and further until it reaches Kara's appartment and crashes down. 'Kara Zor-El of Earth. You have great rage within you. You have been chosen to join the Red Lantern Corpse."
That's right, this season will essentially be Supergirl's Venom arc. Different logistics, same core deal. This may not be the most original course of action, but I see some major benefits. We get to explore Kara, her emotions and relations to the other characters, it puts the agency back with her, opens up a realm of new story possibilities and space shit gives J’ohn something to do besides barking orders and fumbling his relation with M’Gann. Melissa Benoist is a good Supergirl and definitely not a bad actress. Giving her the chance to express more anger and extreme emotion in her character would make for a fun performance. Finally, it gives her a costume change (because come on, third season without a new outfit?). It's not a permanent change because duh, Venom arc. The ultimate enemy this season will be both Reign and Kara's own self-destructive rage/grief. She’ll return to her classic outfit for the finale, having learned to healthily deal with her anger. Of course, the Red Lantern lore needs to be changed a bit to make it fit, but that's nothing CW isn't used to. Chances of a CW Green Lantern are pretty low and no one else is using it, so let’s go nuts with it.
Kat Grant, during the first episodes of the second half of the season will be the one to talk some sense into Kara. “Supergirl is a symbol of hope, not this little ball of insecure rage she’s pretending to be now. I swear, it’s that red kryptonite episode of hers all over again, minus the sex-appeal”. “Of course she’s angry Kiera. Everyone gets angry. Ghandi got angry, but we don’t let that anger define us.”
So, Kara decides to try and take the ring off, but a part of the red lantern lore we’re not changing is that this is impossible without aid of a blue lantern. Still, Kara very consciously tries to keep her anger in check from here on out, but ends up killing a man by flipping out in rage near the end of the season. I suggest bringing back Maxwell Lord to close off that chapter and because my self-indulgent ass deserves something nice. By the end of the season Kara manages to take the ring off and defeat Reign in her classic outfit, as is the standard for Venom arcs. To take the ring off, she will need the help of temporary Blue Lantern Alex, James, M’Gann or Lena. All 4 of them inspire/experience great hope in one capacity or another. Green might be a better fit, but you know, story purposes.
When bringing peace to Kara, both red and blue rings get rejected by their owners and the season finale can commence. My inner supercorp shipper says Lena has to be the blue lantern. Bringing her in contact with Saint Walker would be a fun exploration of her relation with aliens, but I really want the series to continue exploring the relationship between the Danvers sisters. Speaking of which…..
Alex needs to close her daddy issues arc and she needs to close it fast. What started out as a fairly interesting subplot has lost all pace, agency and consistency. Homecoming was one of the most embarrassing episodes of season two and the sooner we’re done with the Jeremiah arc, the better. So here’s what’s gonna happen. Seeing Supergirl get reckless and more aggressive sends CADMUS into panic mode, because ‘omg, evil kryptonian waiting to happen’ and they task Jeremiah with one last job. He agrees, but demands to do it *his* way. Cut to the next scene/episode and dad Danvers surrenders himself to the DEO. Obviously, no one trusts him and J’ohn is determined to keep him under constant surveillance. Alex and Kara hear about it immediately and they try to talk about their grievances, but Jeremiah is shady af. He explains seeing Kara as a red lantern concerned him, but we’re still in the early parts of her arc at this point; she is convinced she got it under control and is stronger than ever. Meanwhile, he sees the dangers of a kryptonian going mad with rage. He tries to convince Alex to see it his way, but after his last stunt in season 2, she remains supportive of Kara. In CADMUS’s attempt to retrieve him and Jeremiah’s inevitable double cross, Jeremiah dies while taking down Hank Hanshaw. It A) makes his sacrifice worth something and B) rid us of Hank Hanshaw. I’m sorry but he doesn’t work as Cyborg Superman, getting rid of him is a kindness. Unfortunately, a sample of Kara’s DNA was delivered to Lilian Luthor for project Galatea, leading into the Power Girl arc in one of the following seasons. Important! Alex, Kara and Eliza get a chance to mourn. Give us a few scenes, a few establishing shots, showing that Jeremiah’s death is acknowledged by the characters. Show how Eliza reacts to the sudden closure of their tragic relationship. I know, duh, but I feel like it should be mentioned because as established; I don’t trust the Supergirl writers. Also, it is kind of a theme this season. Alex’s engagement and probable marriage to Maggie this season may have to be the B-plot for her. Considering Maggie is getting less screentime, this’ll give us some scenes where she can support her gf with her plot, while the two are fantasizing about and planning their wedding. A season-spanning plotline for Maggie would be fun, but is unlikely to occur and even less likely to be handled well. Going by the promo, I suggest turning the plot upside down and allow Maggie to cut her homophobic father out of her life entirely because she is a grown woman and doesn’t need that toxic influence in her life. If the SG writers think of that themselves, kudos. If she has to be the bigger person and forgive her homophobic relative just because he’s a relative, my eyes might pop out of my skull from rolling too much.
I am honestly not sure what game the writers are playing with Reign and Lena. It is actually the only plot for season 3 I am sincerely interested in seeing play out, along with the Sanvers scenes. Allegedly Lena and Reign are linked somehow and I sincerely hope we’re not getting a distant siblings/lena is half alien reveal. Because that’s stupid. And really dumb. And stupid. Instead, I suggest making her what Mon-El should have been; a reflection of Supergirl. Reign/Sam becomes what would have happened if Kara had not been raised by the Danvers and used her powers for selfish ends. She isn’t even looking to conquer. She just wants answers about her existence and live in the comfort she feels she deserves, but goes about her quest with no regard for human life or decency leaving a trail of destruction in her wake. Unintentionally however, she becomes entangled with Lena Luthor and the two become good friends. As Sam, she becomes Lena’s secretary, sadly dropping fan favorite Jess but furthering her parallels with Kara. Meanwhile Lena helps her find out about what she’s made for as bessie mates. Sam will try to physically destroy Lena’s enemy for the season and Lena will have to play moral compass. ‘I’ll kill everyone in this room.’ ‘Sam no.’ ‘Sam yes!’ This will cause some fun tension between Sam and Kara too, as they can only shoot each other nasty looks when Lena is in the room. Reign being a CW villain probably isn’t going to survive the season finale, which is a shame cause they could really use another recurring villain. Considering CW has been trying to paint Lena as a potential villain since the beginning of season 2 however, this is as good a time as any to do it. Supergirl won’t deal the killing blow to Reign but Lena, primed by Lilian, will blame her nonetheless. Bonuspoints if she discovers her identity in the process, reducing her friends list from 4 to 0 in one bad day.
So those are the main plotlines I’d lay out for Supergirl season 3, connected by a theme of dealing with grief. Kara learns that it’s okay to be angry in her grief but to not let it consume her. Alex mourns the death of their dad in a pretty healthy way, surrounded by friends and family, though perhaps feels a little guilty for being so glad with getting closure and her upcoming wedding. Lena deals with the death of Sam in an unhealthy manner, tries to push Kara away and might go down the path of an anti-hero next season.
I know this is just elaborate fanfiction. Of course I do, I said so at the beginning of this thing. But, I felt it necessary to make a point. Season 2 was an awkward, clumsily assembled mess and even folks with only a passing interest in storytelling could have done better. I am not excluding the possibility that the Supergirl writers/producers will surprise me next season, but if they continue the trends set by season 2, I will probably drop the show by episode 5.
I mean, I can always watch the Sanvers and Reign/Lena scenes on youtube later.
