SERGE LUTENS - LA FILLE DE BERLIN - Edizione Speciale 10° Anniversario - Collection Noire - Eau de Parfum - Novità 2023 -
There’s always something surfacing from your past, belonging to your living experience, preceding your future in a fragrance. Some scents are like those amazing people you’ve met over time and are substantial part of memories, constant feed for thoughts and emotions. That’s what really matters to me. Making the fire of emotions unquenchable. Time after time.
•••••
Forse no. Sono cambiata io.

I was born in the correct generation because I loved those photos so much, I decided to look up the ballet so I could watch it and there it was ! I have added other full length performances as well and for most of the pieces I have added different ballet companies (if I could find) just because different ballet companies means different choreography ( not always but certain companies are reowned for their distinct style)
Enjoy!

What do ikevill suitors smell like? PT.1
Hi little robins, I'm back with the "What do ___ suitors smell like?" series, Ikemen Villains edition. A promise is a promise so, here we have our favourite villanous boys. Let's discover the perfumes that our silly little cursed ones are most likely to wear. This is not entirely accurate - it's only based on their routes information and the vibe each boy gives me. Btw, this time I tried to put the same amount of perfumes on each boy.
William Rex
Our King of Hearts, The Self-Righteous Monarch, The King of Villains. As charming as he is ruthless. He wants people to express themselves. Eyes as red as his flags that will have you doing exactly what he wants. You can't fix him... But if you let him, he can absolutely make you worse. “Strip it all off… and fall into the darkness with me." He definitely smells intoxicating, almost like tempting you to fall into a dark world of sweet, poisonous sin.
Notes: Rose, strawberry, absinthe, incense, leather, patchouli, oud, amber and violet.
Perfumes he might like:
La Fille de Berlin - Serge Lutens - His favourite
Fate Man - Amouage
Back to Black - By Killian
Parfum Sacré - Caron
Noir Aphrodisiaque - By Killian - He layers this one with "La Fille de Berlin" when he goes out with you.
Portrait of a Lady - Frederic Malle
Harrison Gray
The Easygoing & Popular Lying Fox. The sweet-addicted book-lover. “I have the curse of the Lying Fox. You shouldn’t trust me so easily.” Shhh, you have a heart of gold. "With you, I can walk through the darkness forever... Because you are my sun.” Told you. He is just a silly playful fox who loves to tease you as much as he loves sweets and books. In his route he is always throwing minty caramels at us and eating sugar. So it feels safe to say that he smells like mint and sweets on top of a soft and woody base.
Notes: Heavy mint, bergamote, green apple, Tea leaves, lily of the valley, cardamom, light vanilla, cedarwood and white musk.
Perfumes he might like:
Eau de Minthé - Diptyque
Moscow mule - Juliette Has A Gun
Under the Lemon Trees - Maison Margiela
Herba Fresca - Guerlain
Wild Mint & Lavandin - Molton Brown - His favourite
White Jasmine & Mint - Jo Malone
Liam Evans
"Curiosity killed the cat. I wonder what'll end up killing me..." Our catboy depressed kitty. My precious boy. The Stage-Star. Someone who'll shower you in roses one moment and stab someone for you the next. That's love. He shines as bright as a star, charming those who see him without effort, he will do anything to win your praise, only yours. This sweet pookie smells like a field of flowers under the rain with a base of soft, sweet and warm vanilla.
Notes: Vanilla, pink pepper, violet leaves, cedarwood, jasmine, sandalwood, grey amber, musk and modern roses.
Perfumes he might like:
Daim Blond - Sarge Lutens
Grand Soir - Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Rose 31 - Le Labo
Spiritueuse Double Vanille - Guerlain - His favourite
Vanilla Cake - Montale
Velvet Vanilla - Mancera - He layers this one with "Spiritueuse Double Vanille" whenever he is going to see you.
Victor
The Man shrouded in mystery. The eccentric Crown's mom leader. Oh Rapunzel, let down your hair. I definitely need his hair routine, and probably you too. I don't know what else to say about him, I love this man more than I love myself. "Now, give into the darkness of your wicked heart" Whatever you want my dear. I feel like he is the "touch her and you die" type of boyfriend. A real provider. He even BAKES. And likes MAGIC TRICKS. AND HE DANCES!!!! Tell me something he can't do, I'll wait, and if you find something, I'll fight you. Anyways, back to the perfumes. He gives me the vibe of a gentleman with a luxurious and complex scent. I can feel warm, woody and sweet with some spice on top of a soft base.
Notes: Bergamot, black pepper, cinnamon, sandalwood, rose, oud, vanilla and amber.
Perfumes he might like:
Bois d'Armenie - Guerlain
Royal Oud - Creed
Interlude Man - Amouage - His favourite
Gentleman - Givenchy
Herod - Parfums de Marly
Orphéon - Diptyque
Roger Barel
He is called "The Egotistical Former Doctor" but it seems like those arms are in the middle, because I can't see the "egoistical" part. "He is selfish and has no regard for his own interests", okay, maybe he is a bit egoistical but... "The Queen's Cursed Forces, huh? No better research subjects than that.” We get it boy, you really want to study them so bad, and I volunteer as a tribute. As said, he is a doctor, so he is surrounded by chemicals, medicines and medicinal herbs, so he definitely like that, something aromatic and some spices. Since one of his hobbies is sampling imported beer, I thin we can all agree that he may smell also like alcohol and liqueur. He is manly, and so, he smells manly.
Notes: Black pepper, eucalyptus, thyme, liqueur, cedarwood, lavender, incense, leather and sandalwood.
Perfumes he might like:
Tam Dao - Diptyque
Terre d'Hermès - Hermès
Habit Rouge - Guerlain
The Cobra and The Canary - Imaginary Authors
Green Irish Tweed - Creed
Epic Man - Amouage - His favourite
Forest Lungs - The Nue Co.
Alfons Sylvatica
Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all? The Hedonistic Thrill Seeker. Don't let all his eloquent smooth-talking fool you, he has an skilled and scheming tongue. "Greetings, Miss Robin. Would you care to indulge in a dream with me today?" As elusive as a phantom, he prioritises ephemeral pleasures above everything else. Perpetually dishonest, he'll play you for a fool… and with you like a toy… Although he has already seduced me, and probably all the robins reading this, I still feel like there's something wrong with this man. We really know nothing about him, he is presented as seductive and mysterious, but I can feel that's just the surface of the lake, in the depths there seems to be a profound loneliness and sadness. What makes me feel like this is his last name. "Sylvatica" comes from the cientific name for the "forget-me-not" flowers (Myosotis sylvatica). This blue little flowers represents true love. A symbol of fidelity and being truthful to someone you love. So yes, he might be a player, but with lots of issues in his soul, and, beacuse of that, I think he may smell seductive but drained down, with lots of sadness. Like a field of forget-me-not flowera drenched in rain water.
Notes: Forget-me-not, violets, herbs, aquatic and ozonic notes, vetiver, incense, leather, amber, vanilla and cedarwood.
Perfumes he might like:
Un Jardin Sur Le Nil - Hermès
Gypsy Water - Byredo
Lys 41 - Le Labo
Avignon - Comme des Garçons
Aoud Leather - Montale
The Language Of Glaciers - Imaginary Authors - His favourite
And here it ends pt.1!!! Stay tuned for pt.2 my loves. See you all little robins.

can we have a game of Top 5 king?🙏
I’ll start with:
Top 5 scents to wear in cold weather (end of autumn/start of winter)?
Top 5 Armand outfits?
(pls ignore if inconvenient)
I feel like I’m being manipulated. The way one would manipulate a dog, by holding out a treat and asking for a trick. But sure, I’ll do it.
I can’t really recommend you perfumes because I don’t know what you like, or what the chemistry of your skin is like, or even if you lean towards feminine or masculine scents, so I’m going to go for some androgynous crowd pleasers that cover a variety of budgets.
Jazz Club or By the Fireplace by Replica (by Maison Margiela). I’m allowed to group these together because they exist on the same continuum of smoke, spice and sweetness, although I prefer Jazz Club. Jazz Club is smoke and booze and vanilla and it’s a very nice tobacco and rum scent. By the Fireplace is sweeter, with more vanilla and less booze but a really nice smoke note that comes through paired with spice (pink pepper and clove).
Black Opium by YSL. It’s a classic. Coffee, vanilla, vaguely noir. You really can’t go wrong with this, although it’s so popular that might be a downside.
Fille en Aiguilles by Serge Lutens. It’s the perfect pine scent. Christmas time, string lights, fresh pine needles, chopped wood, slight smoke. I’ve heard that the new formulation isn’t as good and has a lot of resin so perhaps sample it first. But if you have the disposable income for Serge Lutens, they’ve got a lot of autumn/winter scents, like Chergui and Écrin de Fumé, so try those out too. Their most popular scent, La Fille de Berlin, might fit if the idea of a sweet, soapy, metallic rose appeals to you. If you like those you might like BDK’s Gris Charnel, too.
Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. Do I like Tobacco Vanille? No. Do I think it’s worth the money? Absolutely not. But is it a good scent for the season? Yes. There’s also Oud Wood, which I do like, but is also extremely overpriced. Honestly, even though I don’t believe in perfume “dupes” because it’s really impossible to dupe a formulation (ingredients, chemistry, etc.), you should dupe these. But if you’re even for a second considering purchasing the real thing, go for Creed’s Royal Oud over TF’s Oud Wood. It’s creamier and sweeter and a better scent, really. You will be complimented if you wear these. They’re compliment machines.
Shalimar by Guerlain. Incense, vanilla, smoke, something fresh, dries down into leather. It’s the fragrance that inspired or at least created the mold for a lot of the other fragrances listed here. It’s definitely a feminine scent, but it’s also 2024, so. It is a bit dusty and old-fashioned, maybe something someone in an old photograph might wear, so that really comes down to personal preference. But is it something a vampire would wear? 100%.
Now for my favorite Armand outfits. It’s all of them, really.
The black double-breasted suit with the peaked lapels Claudia’s initiation, complete with a subtle orange and black cravat.
San Francisco. Enough said.
His hunting outfit in Dubai. It’s tied with his hunting outfit in Paris that everyone went mad over. Sorry, this is cheating.
The cream (vaguely linen) jacket over the white dress shirt paired with his high-waisted trousers that are halfway between a cool gray and tan that he wears to Louis’ apartment in Paris.
His outfit when he tells Louis, “Dear, this is a Stein,” in the navy cardigan that looks kimono inspired and the shirt with the covered buttons and the striped trousers and the leather slippers. Or his finale outfit, because I found the loafers so charming.
I know I repeatedly and enthusiastically violated the both the letter and the spirit of top five. I feel like you should’ve expected me to do that when you asked me a question, though.

Early 1730s dresses (from top to bottom) -
1730 Tea Party at Lord Harrington's by C. Phillips detail (Yale Center for British Art, Yale University - New Haven, Connecticut, USA). Probably from Wikimedia; fixed spots with Pshop 1247X1623. There are many caps and veils, square necklines, and laced bodices with revers. But full-blown panniers are not to be seen.
1730 Marquise de Gueydan as Flora by Nicolas de Largillière (Musée Granee - Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France). From cutlermiles.com/portrait-of-marquise-de-gueydan-as-flora-nicolas-de-largilliere/ 1908X2484. She wears a stout Swiss belt and cleft coiffure that harken back to the late Louis XIV era.
ca. 1730 Empress Elisabeth Christine by Johann Gottfried Auerbach (auctioned, probably by Lempertz). From Wikimedia trimmed 1715X2352. She wears a round skirt and a scoop neckline.
ca. 1730 Polyxena of Hesse-Rotenburg, Queen of Sardinia by Maria Giovanna Clementi (location ?). From tumblr.com/blog/view/jeannepompadour; enlarged by half 1053X1385. Her dress has a deep V neckline filled in by a modesty piece.
ca. 1730 Rhoda Apreece, Mrs Francis Blake Delaval attributed to Enoch Seeman the Younger (Seaton Delaval - Seaton Sluice, Northumberland, UK). From artuk.org; enlarged by half 994X1200. The ruff makes this a Van Dyck revival dress. The laced vest and jaunty hat lend a casual air to the portrait.
ca. 1730 Robe volante (Musée de la Mode - Paris, France). From fripperiesandfobs.tumblr.com-post-139802377452-robe-volante-ca-1730-from-the-palais-galliera 1140X1620. Dresses before the 1750s often had cuffs that could be substantial like these.
1731 Die Liebeserklärung by Jean François de Troy (Sanssouci, Stiftung Preußische Schlösser und Gärten Berlin - Brandenburg, Germany). From artsandculture.google.com/asset/die-liebeserklärung-jean-françois-de-troy/XAFpCyLiWrxHZw?h 3074X24.12. Known in the Anglophone world as “The Declaration of Love. The large patterns mark this as early century. The robe à la française is firmly established in the form it would take until the late Louis XVI period.
1731 Infanta Maria Teresa Antonia de Borbón by Jean Ranc (Museo del Prado - Madrid, Spain). From their Web site; removed spots and streaks with Photoshop 2621X3051. Spain was ruled by Borbóns after the last Habsburg was cleared out in the early 1700s.
1731 Julia Calverley, Lady Trevelyan, by Enoch Seeman the Younger (Wallington Hall - Wallington, Northumberland, UK). From nationaltrustcollections.org.uk/object/584399; erased navigation marks in corners & fixed spots w Pshop 1616X1992. Clasps replace lacing to close this bodice.
1731 Lady by John Vanderbank (location ?). From the Philip Mould Historical Portraits Image Library 920X1214. The dress is Van Dyck revival similar to the one worn by Rhoda Apreece.

Best Fragrantica reviews of (some of) my favorite perfumes, Part II
First installment here
Maison Martin Margiela By the Fireplace
Careful not to be worn by this perfume instead of being you the wearer. Not that it is oh so powerful, but it may be too bold of a statement piece for, ahem, some. Wearing BTF when you don't look the part and don't give it sense will have you smelling borderline unhealthy. Like your organs inside have worn off and darkened (and burned out, I guess). Truly as weird as it sounds. The raw thing smells very exciting. I love it ashy. I don't see myself daring any soon, however. And I don't find that it worked for the men I know either, as they have (and I cringe to say) whiter auras and don't fit the "handling cognac by the fire" thing. So I've yet to see it really work, which I'm sure will be great. It's a lovely perfume.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Bewitched
This is the smell of a witch's brew. She made a special tea for you to drink. You pass out. When you awaken you find yourself in her garden full of poisonous berries, patchouli, weeds, clary sage, and flowers whose petals have been plucked. This is an herbal scent, like walking inside a shop selling only herbs. It's medicinal and like a tea. Not always easy to take in...The smell of sage and musk give it a unisex/masculine quality. I would say that it's more of a guy's type of cologne than a woman's. I would wear it for Halloween with a witch costume or as Morticia Addams. It's really a very engaging scent but it's linear and simple. It's a little green tea and berry. It's got a bite but it's witchy and dark, but not a strong cologne either. For a niche indie frag, not bad.
TokyoMilk Gin & Rosewater
I was in a boutique that carries the Tokyo Milk Curiosite & Bon Bon lines, and I was entranced by this. Florals are not usually my thing, by the way, because I get monster headaches from most of them. Suddenly the salesgirl is RIGHT NEXT TO ME leaning in conspiratorially and says in an awed tone that 'Blake Lively LOVES this one'. OMFG, Blake Lively, you say??!? Like for serious, the real Blake Lively?? OMFG, do you have like, more in the back?!? I'm totally going to buy every bottle you can shove in my basket because BLAKE LIVELY would hang out with me if we ran into each other and then my life could end. Um, not. I almost DIDN'T buy it because of the salesgirls then going into a tizzy about how amazing Blake is. I could not care less, although I'm sure Lively is nice enough. But it did smell cool, so home with me it came, along with the matching lotion.
Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin
It’s an overwhelming fragrance that smells like the bottom of my grandma’s small square leather purse when we went to mass (her old dried up lipstick💄 the powder compact, the newspaper, the pack of strawberry-ish scented kleenex, the peppermints). It’s vintage, it’s a bit suffocating and I have it printed in my memory 4 ever.
Juliette Has a Gun Magnolia Bliss
Anastasia Steele, no longer a virgin. In her Audi A3, the smell of her new car, first edition books and a new life... That's what comes into mind with this perfume. The night Christian took her for the first time on his helicopter. I can imagine this is exactly what she smelled like that night. With Ellie Goulding's Love me like you do playing in the background.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540
I’m too embarrassed and ashamed to wear this in public just in case a fragrantica influencer comes out of a bush and starts pointing & laughing at me in front of everyone
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
what all the hot daddies in every lana del rey song smell like
Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud
If your family was religious, traditionally Asian, or both, you'll know this scent. This is the scent of a temple. This is the scent of an altar. Personally I can never wear this because smelling this brings back so many memories of burning incenses, visiting funerals, and saying prayers and wishes. My bottle is literally sitting on an altar.
Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose
Speaking of the devil. This scent is the one with the Prada's shoes.
4160 Tuesdays Doe in the Snow
This is borne on a Christmas Eve, under the moonlight, a baby fawn just out of it's mother's womb. The moon is full light casting blue shadows snow lightly falling delicate flakes each one unique on the nose of the new born... Pure fresh Christmas morning air stillness not a sound blanketed with drifts of snow that is Doe In The Snow... pure white innocence...velvet petals so delicate under the driven snow...I have seen this in a dream... Another love... I get it...
