Now I know that everyone is kinda focusing on the main knight’s roundtable in regards to legendborn and it’s scions, but is there a possibility that there’s a Scion for the Uncrowned King, Galehaut? Like imagine how cool that would be?!

Also, let’s not forget that Lancelot has a brother, who is also a knight and is from North Africa. Could there also be a Scion for him too? Imagine if that’s folks were black like Bree?! Wouldn’t that be cool?

Masoch / Lancelotism by Jeffrey Jerome Cohen - that one Lancelot BDSM paper. Masochism in Chretien de Troyes's The Knight of the Cart, Lancelot as a Christ-like figure, one of the chapters is called "Guenevere in Furs", and there are Depeche Mode lyrics in the epigraph. Exactlyyyy.

The Vampyres by C.R. Kane - a delightfully haunting novella that seamlessly combines several classic horror stories. By a Dracula (book) fan for Dracula (book) fans, and it shows. A more detailed review with some spoilers here.

An Education in Malice by S.T. Gibson - it might be on me for diving in with ridiculously high expectations after A Dowry of Blood, but I wish I liked this book more than I ended up liking it. It's not bad, but it took a lot of time to grow on me, and then the ending, which I found a bit anticlimatic, kind of undid that. I also didn't see the point of naming the characters after the characters of Carmilla (vampires and lesbians are where the similarities end), though it isn't that important, I guess. Can't say I didn't enjoy it at all - just wish I enjoyed it more.

The Ballad of Tam-Lin (1970) - a modern retelling of the eponymous ballad, with the queen of fairies being a wealthy older woman with a court of protégés. Very nice, very late 60s. Don't know why it's considered folk horror though - it's more of a TSH-like personality cult thing.

Bridgerton (2020-?, season 3.1) - the things I watch for Nicola Coughlan in pretty dresses. Can we cut out the boring male lead completely? Because I only care about the Cressida/Eloise/Penelope intimate female friendship triangle.
