just finished watching.

such a cute little drama. i was attracted to it because of a singular clip on youtube when ji eun is comforting joseph while woo min laughs.

i. the centre point of the drama which COMPLETELY made it my favourite was the friendships. even tho joseph and ppyoji were a segment and seon ho and woo min the other, they all complimented each other so well. perfectly showed the dynamics of a four-people friend group where two people are closer to each other. but it didn't deter seon ho and ji eun to be so close to each other, nor did it stop joseph and woo min to love each other.

another thing about friendships is the love between boss and employee, ms oh and ji eun, mr do and woo min, joseph and esther.

the friendships of joseph and ji eun was so comforting, them being each other's hype men and always there. seon ho and woo min was personally very attached to me because of the nature of call out friendships mixed with the same rough affection we all have.

ii. i am SO glad kdramas have moved on from the 'toxic parents' trope. i am so sick of seeing unsupportive parents and fathers who try to hide their emotions while the mother slyly tells the daughter who is shedding a tear. seon ho's parents were so fucking supportive and open about it. and joseph's mother, in the first ep, i thought she was going to be the airhead mother who's just...there. but she really is his biggest hype(wo)man and supporter.

iii. the thing that did bug me was when ji eun slept with woo min in the first ep despite being in a relationship with nam jin at the time. seeing how it was never discussed again i thought maybe i was mistaken but...idk. still bothers me a bit.

iv. but apart from that, THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THEM was so fucking charged. like, in the first ep, during the pub scene, you could literally feel the sparks in between them. even if it was a little predictable, we dont watch kdramas like these for the slice of life it offers, but rather a feeling of comfort.

v. seon ho. my woman. what a fucking badass. the way she stood up for those models? bad ass. also she's so fucking pretty.

ps - the side plot of do young was so weird and unnecessary did not get it. except when he showed that album to ji eun.

pss - may everyone get a friend like esther amen.

SUMMARY: All you want to do is be young and have fun, but then you remember you're also a prosecutor so you have to get creative with it.

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Kendo shinai accessories, terrible perms, awkward company dinners, super-casual office attire, thumbdrives, secret hideouts, chill villains, fidget spinners, bomb threats, fluffy puppies, tear gas, and a nervous, but down-to-clown seonbae.

HOT TAKE: I think the 'chill, rich villain' trope is by far the most frustrating and unnerving villain any Kdrama can have. They're too rich to care, too powerful to fail, and infuriatingly untouchable. This show does it WELL.

SHINee grubunun üyesi olan Minho’nun dizisi çıktığını duyunca ilgilimi çekmişti. Daha önce Hwarang’da tanışmıştık kendisiyle. Onun vesilesi ile de SHINee grubuyla tanışmıştım. Aslında uzunca bir süredir dizi ve filmlerde boy gösteriyormuş. Ben nedense Hwarang ilk dizisiymiş de şimdi ondan sora ikinci bir dizide oynuyormuş gibi bir kafaya girmişim. Halbuki arada oynadığı başka dizileri de izlemişim. Neyse mış mış kısmını geçelim. Kısacık bir diziydi. Tam bir “slice of life” dizisiydi.

Netflix orijinal dizisi olduğu her halinden belliydi. Hayatlarında bir şeyleri rayına oturtmaya çalışan dört arkadaşın yaşadıklarını izledik. Karakterlerin arkadaş ilişkileri, hayalleri ve işleri anlatıldı. Dizinin ilginç kısmı seçilen sektördü. Daha önce işlenmemiş bir konuya değinilmişti. Moda sektörünün içinden geçtik. Dört arkadaştan biri manken, biri tasarımcı, biri fotoğrafçı diğeri ise moda ajansında marka tanıtım şefiydi. Hem işleri birbirine dokunan hem hayatları iç içe olan bu arkadaş grubunu ben çok sevdim.

Birbirlerine olan destekleri kıskandıracak cinsteydi. Ayrıca Kore dizilerinden bir tık sıyrılan bir romantizm anlayışı da vardı. Gerçekçi bir aşk hikayesini de bizlere sundular. Dizinin bundan başka anlatılacak bir detayı yoktu maalesef. Moda ajansında çalışan Pyo Ji-Eun (Chae Soo-Bin), işine aşık kibar ve sıradan bir hanım kızdır. Geçmişte, fotoğrafçı olan Ji Woo-Min(Minho) ile romantik bir ilişki içinde bulunmasına rağmen yürütemediklerine karar verip arkadaş kalmışlardır. Tasarımcı olan Joseph(Lee Sang-Un)‘e bayıldım. Hiç dillendirmeden cinsel tercihleri ile ilgili cesur bir karakter betimlemişlerdi. Başarılı ama çocuk gibi, kendini beğenmiş gibi görünen ama kendinden önce hep arkadaşlarını düşünen korkak bir çocuk gibiydi Joseph. Ve son olarak da güçlü mankenimiz Ye Seon-Ho (Park Hee-Jung) vardı. Adeta kadının gücü gibiydi. Yere sapasağlam basarken ve dışarıya dimdik bir duruş sergilerken içeriden nasıl kırıkları olduğunu bize gösterdi. Pes etmeden, arkadaşlarının elini bırakmadan nasıl dikenli bir hayatı göğüslediğini gördük.

Dizi sonu yatakta biten bir parti ile başlıyor. Bu kadar cesur devam etmese de ilgiyi kaybetmediklerini düşünüyorum. Bir grup arkadaşın hayatlarına kısacık bakış atıyoruz. İzlenebilir.

Alright, let's get started

First is some kind of recap with old scenes from the previous two seasons and some parts of the official teaser and trailer clips. I guess I don't have to explain this one

Sang-won attacking Sergeant Tak scene is done right in front of all the attending stadium residents. While the rest of the residents are understandably freaking out, girlie is unflinching coz "duh monsters are my friend, this is just my daily life". Sang-won approaching her and then dun dun dun.... He knows she's his daughter! And he's smiling so gentle and proud to her, saying he's been waiting for so long. I guess he better pay the child support now after being a fucking deadbeat dad for almost an entire year leaving her to Hyun-su and her mom 🙄

Also confused seeing some people on twt calling girlie Ai. Is that like her actual name revealed on s3 or is it actually a simplified/romanized ahyi (Korean for daughter) that people mistook as her name?

The scene of Kim getting jumpscared by Eun-hyeok while investigating inside a church is followed by Kim asking some questions and Eun-hyeok answering while explaining some stuffs about his new identity. There's also a monster praying there before leaving

Eun-hyeok went with Kim after that church scene, it seems? They are passing by Chan-young and Eun-yu. Pretty sure Chan-young immediately connect the dots that Eun-hyeok is what Eun-yu been searching for all this time

The extended long awaited Hyun-su vs Eun-hyeok is here. Monster Hyun-su (I just realized it from the close-up on his eyes) just done fighting with the Neohuman that attacked Seok-chan in the last episode of season 2 (that burning wing still-cut is from this scene) before being hit hard and thrown straight inside an abandoned bus by the previous military jeep. I don't know if it's Kim or Eun-hyeok's idea, but there's this gut feeling that it might be Eun-hyeok's idea all along (also I noticed Kim unconscious inside the jeep if my eyes didn't fool me, apparently from the harsh crash)

How monster Hyun-su acted during the fight is exactly what I predicted what type of character he is from his appearance on the last episode of season 2. He is more collected and subtle compared to Hyun-su, there's more anger and bitterness beneath his calm and controlled demeanor. Because if it's the real Hyun-su himself seeing Eun-hyeok alive or if that sight reminded him of what happened to Sang-wook's corpse, he would show more aggressions and facial expressions out of strong emotions, like how he reacted to Sang-won's "teasings" back in episode 1 and 3 of season 2. You could see and feel so much sexual tension from them, as expected 👀 Hyun-su really being here having romantic and sexual tension with both Lee siblings, huh?

So, what a plot twist, girlie is the one "creating" the next protein monster that Hyun-su fought on the official teaser clip, with Sang-won watching the whole process (the still-cut of Sang-won and the girl at some outside setting with clear sky is from this scene). Although this one is clearly different than the previous protein monster. Apparently she can now make monster out of non-living thing too?

The Fabulous

I frankly don't know where to start., so I'll be blunt: I didn't like this series. I forced myself to finish it and I skipped episodes - and mind you, this was an 8 episode series. It was the combination of poor storyline, character development and representation. The characters come off as frivolous, the gay characters feel like a stereotyped caricature that felt cringy at times. And I just couldn't connect with any of the characters. It annoyed me that Pyo Ji Eun could forgive and give a second chance to Lee Nam Jin who insulted her when they broke up, but she couldn't forgive and give a second chance to her friend and ex-boyfriend because she couldn't see how he expressed his feelings for her. These characters are static, there is no true growth in them. At the end of the series they are the same as they were in the beginning.

The plot felt superficial too. It could have worked if there had been some depth to the conflicts that could truly make the characters do some growing; for example Ye Seon Ho's situation as a model. This could have been explored more. The conflicts are all triggered by the whim of celebrities, rich people or influencers. Shim Do Young is supposed to be the cute boy trying to make it in the fashion industry and he comes off as annoying and shallow.

Thierry's story could have been a nice subplot but they turned that character into the biggest caricature of the set of characters.

It's a pity because the cast has some really good actors in it, but they were not able to bring to life characters that the audience could connect.

I truly don't recommend this one. There are other series about fashion that are much better.
