My cat giving a visual demonstration of adhd boredom
[ID/ Video taken from a phone of a white and grey cat on a wooden floor in a bedroom. At first she is laying and looking a bit around, moving her tail. Then she rolls onto her back, sees a pair of slippers next to her, rolls onto them, grabs one and chews on it. She stops. She looks around. She stretches towards the wall, licks something in the very angle between wall and floor. Looks attentively there. Suddenly, she gets up with urgency and starts working that corner is if she were trying to get something unstuck (note: there is nothing there). Then she flops onto her back, sees a cat blanket hanging from a box behind her, grabs a corner of the blanket with a chirping sound. She bites it. She makes a complaining sound rolling onto her back and twisting onto herself, belly up, and rolls a solid 180 degrees. She calls out, a racuous mrah-meow. She stops. She jerks her head, still laying down. She gives out another whining meow. She licks her paw, looks back, jerks her head and meows again. She stares, immobile. OP laughs from behind the camera. She stares at the camera. She jumps to sit straight with a "humph", staring at the camera, then looks aside as OP says "sorry". Then she gets up and leaves the room. /end ID]
growing up in a poor rural area with a feral dog and cat problem was very sad. but also whenever you wanted a dog, it would just show up. whenever you wanted a cat, it would just be in your garage. and it would be a goddamn fantastic dog that was immune to every disease and could survive any disaster. but anyway it made me diametrically opposed to paying for animals so navigating the world outside of my hometown has been bizarre.
