(via Lobster Thermidor) Lobster Thermidor is a timeless classic. I like it spicier than normal, so I try to use the spiciest mustard I can find, or cayenne pepper.

Chef John's Lobster Thermidor Chef John uses a nice light sauce on his lobster thermidor. And you can prep these ahead of time and just pop them in the oven when your guests arrive!

Seafood Thermidor baked till golden-brown on top with creamy sauce and gooey cheese. I could only make out the prawns and mussels embedded in the sticky cheese. Next up, Black Angus Beef Gulai which is a spicy beef curry commonly found in the Malay Archipelago. Initially I had thought that it was beef rendang.

A huge salmon swimming in shallow tomato gravy caught everyone’s attention while basking under the heat lamp and sitting atop the induction warmer. Whole Norwegian Salmon with Tomato Basil Coulis soon had diners digging into the side for the flaky flesh with tangy tomato puree.

Seafood in Mushroom Essence was like a herbal seafood pot filled to the brim with an assortment of shellfish and crustaceans. I should have noticed there were king crab legs in there as one lady was cherry-picking out all the crab legs into her bowl. As for me, I only managed to find one miserable piece to comfort myself. Subsequent top up doesn’t come with any more king crab legs in it. :(

There was Seafood Porridge and Herbal Chicken Soup to help yourself with but I did no such thing. For the porridge, there were nine condiments like pickled vegetables, beans, crispy anchovies etc. to pick from including two sauces.

Between email, sms, and social media, I get dozens of requests per day for donations for charity, political funds, personal crowdfunds, etc. If I add in paper mail, there's another dozen or so monthly, but at least almost all of those are from charities I have actually donated to in the past.
No matter what else they are asking for, they are always asking for money and attention, neither of which are things anyone has in infinite supply, but certainly not me.
Now, I'm pretty sure most of the emails are what they seem to be, at least - not fraud, just tiresome. I periodically go through and weed out my subscriptions, and happily report anything I definitely didn't sign up for as SPAM.
The text messages... I don't really have any way to know, and don't feel a need to find out. I never approved that usage of my phone number, and feel entirely justified deleting any attempts to use it that way. Those only really get to me when it's a dozen in a day to my phone, which the last week or so it has been thanks to the encroaching US elections. I'm sure it will get worse before it gets better.
The personal requests from actual people I know, regardless of how they arrive, I do try to help with, one way or another, of course.
But the "personal requests" from total strangers via private message over social media? For some reason those drive me up a wall the most. Probably because they inevitably come with a quadruple dose of guilt trip plus a hard sell, and those kind of tactics have always pissed me off.
So I'll say it here yet again. No doubt some of the asks that come to my inbox here are indeed sincere, but I have no way to tell them apart as they are all from strangers and the scammers use the same sob stories the real people use, for obvious reasons. Therefore, if I do not actually know you personally, I will simply delete the message.
Not that me repeating this will stop the scammers. 🙄 I guess this is mostly just me venting my frustration a bit.
No doubt many of you can commiserate, having similar experiences yourselves.
