hi bug!! time for a long post!!
me rambling about Morri's anatomy for several long minutes under the cut :) (it is a very very long post! you have been warned)
I'm going to separate this into two categories per your question: logistics, and exploits. Logistics will be an explanation of their actual anatomy, and exploits would be things to use against them, because we're whumpers here, and that's what we do.
First up:
Logistics
Morrigan was created by a tech company pursuing artificial intelligence as a means to an end. It's sort of a, "technology-forward" face and a "manipulate the economy" motivation. This company-not-yet-named (CNYN) has scientists working on board to perfect this technology, as well as a second board working to use the technology.
Morrigan is the first successful prototype. Not that there aren't many other scrapped designs and parts in the dumpsters behind CNYN, but Morri is the first one deemed capable in the field. They fulfill all of their requirements, from actions to efficiency. Their requirements being:
Physically able to mimic a human in all mannerisms, to go unnoticed in the public.
Logically able to manipulate a human, adopting personalities and behaviors to increase their chances of success.
Mentally able to pursue solutions effectively and with minimal loss, including assigned parameters like no casualties, maximum publicity, and the like.
And finally, able to perform all these actions with only minor glitches or malfunctions. Reliable technology.
To follow each of these requirements, the systems used to run Morrigan often mimic human anatomy. Some examples:
Cardiovascular system: Morrigan has a "pump" installed close to where a human heart would be. This pumps a liquid combination of coolant, oils, and other components necessary to keep all the systems running.
Urinary system: Because Morrigan's "blood" is a combination of several components, a system to separate these components is required. To filter out oxygen, chemicals, and waste, there is a mimicry of the human urinary tract.
Respiratory system: Oxygen is necessary for this model of android. Morrigan has a set of artificial lungs to provide for cooling and combustion. However, it's programmed to be as silent as possible--all you would hear is a slight humming, because it's difficult to mimic the human breath.
Skeletal and muscular systems: Morrigan's structure is made up of silicon and metals. Their bones are much stronger than a human's, but not infallible. Because of the complexities of human movement, Morri's skeleton and muscles are a near identical copy of a human's.
Neurological systems: One of the most precarious components to Morrigan's function is movement. Because of this, they have several installed programs to help mimic human behavior--balance, blinking, fidgeting, idle animations, the like.
Integumentary system: Morrigan has an artificial skin covering the silicon plating that protects their innermost workings. This skin has artificial hair, and several layers, as well as an identifying fingerprint leading to their alias Morrigan White.
Eyesight: Morrigan's eyes are made of glass, with pixels and cameras mixed to create their artificial eyesight. They can choose which colors present, for a more human look, but often are resting with blue irises and black sclera.
Now, with some explanation of their physical anatomy out of the way, let's move onto exploiting it.
Exploits
Coding
First of all, the most common thing to occur is a simple system malfunction. Whether it be a coding error (doubtless) or a piece of dust in the way, Morrigan's systems are not foolproof. They are designed to self-correct as best as possible. However, that is not always reliable.
Glitches like heavily mechanical wheezing, heightened temperatures, and uncanny valley esc forgetting-to-blink moments are common with these bugs. They're easy to fix, though occasionally may get out of hand. When the bugs cannot be self-soothed, it results in a failure.
System failures occur when a bug is significant enough to interfere with the rest of its systems functioning. These can only be corrected through maintenance, whether through Morrigan's own re-coding or by a technician from CNYN.
System failures can mean Morrigan shuts down. Severe overheating, pump/heart malfunctions, even buildup of waste can be significantly damaging to their prototype form. When corrected, new routes are implemented to avoid further similar complications. It's a learn-from-your-mistakes way of thinking.
Another important thing to note is behavioral glitches. If a bug interferes with a personality system, or a logistics system, Morrigan may act completely out of character.
These behavioral changes can include lashing out, forgetting who the enemy is, becoming incredibly stressed and overwhelmed, or becoming completely unresponsive. Morrigan has very little experience dealing with these bugs. Often, they require a technician.
Damage
When physical altercations occur, Morrigan is not immune from being damaged. There are three designated levels of danger, modeled after the human Triage colors.
Green: Surface level attacks, mild slashes, cosmetic damage
Morrigan is well trained in several areas of combat, but no one is perfect. Often, their skin may be punctured, revealing the eerie white plating underneath. If none of the systems besides the skin or plating are touched, it's referred to as merely cosmetic, and the maintenance is closer to a salon day than a surgery.
Yellow: Plating fractures, blood loss, limb damage
If the plating breaks, Morrigan will lose their coolant/oil solution. If they lose enough, the body will shut down, similar to a human. Their artificial immune system can web over small wounds with a clotting liquid, but it's not foolproof. On top of that, if connective nerves are broken between a limb and the brain, severe glitches become very obvious. Yellow requires immediate repair, to protect their identity.
Red: System damage
Fractures through the plating and into the torso, throat or face are considered severe. These compromise the integrity of the body--you can only fix something so many times before it'll collapse under its own weight. A significant example is Morrigan's left eye--there is a slice in the skin, which, when it occurred, damaged the ocular systems. The color glitched, and their iris turned temporarily yellow. The worst of the damage was to the skin around it. With a system so temperamental, it was impossible to fully repair. The scar is permanent, until Morrigan is replaced by a new model.
And finally:
Illness
Despite Morrigan's artificial nature, they are not immune to illness. Bugs that interfere with their temperature cause very similar symptoms to the human fever; damage to the neck or eyes result in headaches, migraines, or even hallucinations; and spores, pollen, or poisons can clog their respiratory system, resulting in cold-like feelings or even lightheadedness. Important to note: these can only be fixed by Morrigan themselves or by a technician. If no technician is available, the situation becomes far more dangerous.
Also, because Morrigan has a cardiovascular system, poisons carry quickly through the body. These can damage their internal systems, and cause a whole host of severe problems before they're aware enough to destroy the infiltrating chemical.
Final thoughts
The most important thing to keep in mind is that Morrigan is a prototype. Androids are not common. They are almost entirely unique. Any damage, illness, or error that occurs is exponentially more dangerous when a technician isn't around--or, for that matter, is unwilling to help.
And secondly, for all of Morrigan's knowledge in combat, medicine, manipulation, and their own personal makeup--
There is no way to withstand a deactivation code.
If the company decides Morrigan must be recalled, there is only one way to ensure they are totally and completely safe. And that is to reprogram them yourself.
