here's some witch thing to do for Mabon (mah-bawn) (also know as the Autumn Equinox, or Pagan Thanksgiving) since its saturday!
• make stew to celebrate the gifts (aka crops) that the earth has given us (even better if it has squash in it)
• eat stuff with apples and squash!
• set out an offering for the wildlife
• eat pomegranate in honor (idk the right word to use there) of Persephony
• relock your mirrors, recharge your wards, cleanse stuff, ect.
• journal what you've done this year so far
• set your home up for winter
and here something bigger that I would suggest doing is taking a healing bath.
put some healing herbs in your bath and corresponding crystals and candles (the candles and crystals are optional). here's a list of herbs im going to use: dried rosemary, apple slices, bay leaves, thyme, dried rose pedals, spearmint leaves, himalayan pink salt, blackberries, and cucumber. the crystals im using: clear quartz, rose quartz, moonstone, aquamarine, and jasper. and im going to use some ocean water, too (if you have an ocean near you, you can use ocean water). and here are the candles im using and the meaning that im using that color for:
white (peace, purity, spiritual)
blue (calmness)
pink (emotional healing, self love)
green (physical healing)
yellow (comfort, joy)
also, if you want to use different herbs and crystals then me visit pinecone pub on the ✨ interwebs ✨ and click the get started button and type in 'heal' or ' healing' (of course with out the 's) in the search and a list of stuff would come up (herbs and crystals) that you can put in your healing bath.
Mabon simmer pot:
what you'll need:
• an orange
• rosemary (dried or fresh)
• an apple
• cinnamon sticks
• rose pedals (dried or fresh)
how to:
(1. cut up your orange and apple into slices.
(2. start heating up a pot of water on a stove
(3. add in your orange slices, apple, rose pedals, rosemary, and cinnamon sticks.
(4. let simmer.
and a little extra tip for this coming autumn, the stuff that makes up pumpkin spice, all of those herds can be used for protection. so if you like pumpkin spice, there's a little excuse to eat more stuff with pumpkin spice in it.

Mabon Celebration Ideas!
Tumblr media
As some of you know, this Saturday is Mabon, the celebration of the Autumn Equinox. Some also refer to it as the "Pagan Thanksgiving", as you celebrate the bountiful harvest and are thankful for the earth and its many gifts.
Mabon marks the time of equilibrium, where the days and nights are of equal length. During this time, it is good to set intentions that involve decrease, such as ending unhealthy habits, self-destructive behaviors, or bad relationships.
Decorating for Autumn
This a great time to decorate for the coming autumn and spooky seasons leading up to Samhain! I like to open the windows and then cleanse my space(usually a simmer pot and smoke cleanse) and after, i actually physically clean the house.I then close the windows and stir my simmer pot, while setting new intentions for the household until the spring equinox. I then collect the things I want to decorate with(the usual fall decor; pumpkins, pine cones, leaf garlands, gourds and an autumn wreath on the door) and then decorate to my hearts content!
Release and Move Forward
Another thing I usually spend time on is meditation, centering myself, letting go of past baggage from the year and setting new personal goals and intentions until spring.
Find a nice spot outside, where you feel connected to the world around you. Take a journal with you, and meditate. Write down what you want the next few months to bring into your life. Set those intentions in any way you choose.
Have a nice Hearty Meal
Who doesn't love a good meal with great people? You can make a roast, hold a potluck Mabon dinner ect, I usually host a bonfire night and everyone brings their own dishes to feel the group. During covid, I made a pot roast for my fiance and I! You could also do a picnic!
Fall Activities
Apple Picking, Corn Mazes, going to a Pumpkin Patch, all fall activities that are fun for the whole family, as a cute date, or great solo fun!
Honor Persephone and Demeter
If you are one to honor deities/spirits during the holidays, Persephone and Demeter are two that will definitely fall into Mabon.
According to the myth, Autumn is the time where Persephone must leave her beloved mother and travel to Hades, to fulfill her role as the Queen of the Underworld. Each year she lets go of the concerns of the upper world, and willingly descends to guide the souls of the dead over the threshold of Life and Death.
Creating an altar, and leaving offerings for them in honor of their sacrifice is an amazing way to celebrate.
Other
Other things you can do include cleansing ritual baths, Divination for the new few months, hiking, offerings for the local nature spirits, make a gratitude list for the last few months and thank the earth for her gifts
Mabon Symbols:
Cornucopia (horn of plenty), pinecones, seeds
Colors: Orange, red, yellow, brown, copper, dark yellow, dark green
Foods: Corn, beans, squash, apples, pumpkins, cider, root vegetables, pomegranate, wine
Herbs: Yarrow, rosemary, sage, mugwort, rosehips,
Stones: Amber, citrine, cat’s eye, aventurine, sapphire, jasper
Flowers: Sunflowers, thistle, marigolds
Deities: Mabon, Green Man, Demeter, Persephone, Morgan, Pomona, Inanna
Animals: Owl, stag, blackbird, salmon
I hope this gives you a few ideas! Add your own ideas to this list! These are just the ways I like to celebrate!

Blessed Mabon
Mabon is a pagan holiday that marks the autumn equinox, and is the second of three harvest festivals in the Wheel of the Year. This festival is about celebrating the abundance of nature and stopping to reflect on balance in our own lives. It marks the transition from summer into fall and is a time to come together with loved ones to feast and give thanks for the blessings of the harvest.

Only one week until the Autumn Equinox, also known as Mabon, when night and day are at equal length. It is a time of great balance, a time to centre and ground ourselves to the earth.
Mabon is a Pagan festival called a Sabbat, it is the final harvest of the year, because after this day vegetation will begin to wither and die. Farmers will harvest their crops and fields will become dry and barren. The leaves on trees are starting to change colour ready to fall, while fruit and nuts start to drop from the branches. Even though it will begin to feel colder and get darker, all around us we are surrounded by the warm colours of fire such as reds, yellows, oranges and browns.
Mabon is also a time of making family feasts and stews and of sharing food with friends, family and neighbours, add lots of root vegetables with a choice of meat (leave out the meat if you're vegetarian) to a slow cooked stew and bread. Drink cider and apple juice, also apple, rhubarb, pumpkin, berry or meat pies are customary with a pentacle carved or added onto the pastry before cooking.
We celebrate Mabon by setting up an alter to honour the season. On the alter put anything you can find that will represent Autumn, such as fallen leaves or branches, acorns, pine cones and nuts. Add fruit and vegetables like pumpkins, squash, carrots, turnip, grapes, berries etc, Add apples by cutting them horizontally to reveal the Pentagram in their centre. You can also add corn bundles, wheat bundles or corn or wheat dollies. Light candles with Autumn colours of red, orange, white, purple and brown or gold. The alter will bring luck and protection, it will honour the season and the God and Goddess who bestow the gifts upon the earth. When lighting the candles ask the Goddess for her blessings and the God for protection for the colder, darker months to come.
This coming Mabon is a time to give thanks for the abundance of food and the harvest, to thank the God and Goddess for their gifts and their sacrifices. It is a time to appreciate what we have in life and give thanks for all our blessings no matter how small they may be.

Happy Mabon!
Unfortunately, this is all I have the energy for this Mabon. A little shrine in the rain. Most of the food will probably be eaten by my dog as soon as the rain stops and she discovers this xD

Happy Mabon!! 🍂🍎
Hi, I have another recipe for you! This time it’s Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies (source: https://awesomeon20.com/caramel-stuffed-apple-cider-cookies/)
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 cups flour
1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
1 cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 box (10 packets) instant hot apple cider mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag caramels
In a small bowl, gently whisktogether baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and flour until combined. Set aside
With a mixer, cream together butter, sugar, salt, and apple cider mix until fluffy.
Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla.
Slowly add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix on low until just combined. Make sure you give everything one last stir with a spatula to be sure that it's mixed all the way through and there's no flour on the bottom of the bowl.
Refrigerate the dough for at least an hour.
Preheat your oven to 350 F (175C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. You'll definitely need it.
Unwrap your caramels, and resist the urge to eat them. I use my cookie scoop, which is about a tablespoon to scoop out the dough. Press your thumb into the center of the ball to make some space, then press a caramel right into the center and mold your dough around the caramel to seal it in.
Place your cookie dough encased caramel on your cookie sheet, and just keep creating these little beauties until you fill it up. Place the cookies about two inches apart. They'll spread quite a bit. Store the dough in the fridge between batches.
Bake at 350 for about 13 minutes or until light brown around the edges.
When you pull the cookies out of the oven, pull your parchment paper or silicone mat off the cookie sheet right away. Allow the cookies to cool completely, then give them a gentle twist to pull them off the mat or parchment.
Hope you enjoy!! ☺️ I think they look really tasty!!!
blessed be xx
