Fandom: Once Upon a Time

Pairing: Killian Jones x Emma Swan Brother Male!Reader

Timeline: Killian Jones flirting with Emma at beginning until you put him up against a wall and tell him to stop hitting on your twin sister. Male!Reader went with alongside Emma when she was put in the tree as a baby (just imagine the tree takes three persons instead of only two). (After they took Peter Pan out of Henry's body)

Warning: He found what happened in the timeline attractive. Male!Reader is kind of OCC called as Jack throughout the story (you can change the name). Relentless flirting.

It wasn't weird that the great Captain Hook found a woman, Emma Swan, attractive. He mostly found most woman attractive when they have a sort of bite, what he didn't expect was that it could happen if a man that was handsome did the same.

Jack was as normal as the next guy, son of the famous Prince Charming and Snow White; complete opposite in personality since he would not give a fuck about anyone's feeling if it was a life or death situation; he was a little bit impulsive too but still a great guy. When he found out there was a pirate hitting on his twin sister, who literally looks nothing like him, he decided to take action on it unlike his nice-to-the-bone father.

Captain Hook pov

I'm walking down the docks when I see a gorgeous man; he was perfectly build, had beautiful curly black hair with some stunning grey eyes that popped out because of the slight eyeliner he had on. He was wearing a pair of tight jeans and a black long sleeve shirt that still showed of his perfectly sculpted arms. Apart from all of that he was wearing some beautiful black boots.

"Aren't you jewel?", I thought while I looked at him as discreetly that I could. I guess I didn't do such a great job since he started walking my way. He didn't stop when he reached where I was standing so I instinctively started to back up until I finally was against a wall.

When he finally reaches me, I put my hands up out of instinct, well a hook and a hand, in a try of self defense but he simply grabs both and puts them on top of my head preventing movement and one of his legs ended up pressing against my crotch while he leaned over to see my face better. I can now tell that his grey eyes have specks of blue and his face was littered with freckles that just added to his beauty. What I definitely couldn't help but notice that the pressure of his knee on my crotch brought a sense of pleasure that wasn't intended by the beautiful man.

— You're quite handsome which doesn't help on threatening you but stay the hell away from my sister — the man said with a voice that just matched his look. This is bloody intoxicating.

— Mate, you may have to tell me who your sister is, aye? — I said while straining my voice slightly at the feeling of his knee moving a bit.

— Emma Swan and I'm Jack Swan — said Jack while he held eye contact in such a way that made me swallow harshly.

— I won't bother her again mate, you can trust me in that — I said while I clench my jaw harder at the feeling of his leg moving but he seemed to notice and he smirked while he moved his leg harsher making me whimper against my will.

— I believe you — Jack said before letting my hands go and walking away with a slight sway on his hips. I watched as he walked away while my eyes trained at his ass after I looked at front he floor (like in the gift). I smile to myself since I now need to woo the handsome man know as Jack Swan.

I'm taking a sip from my coffee at Granny's when I see Jack enter with Henry next to him. I can't help but overhear their conversation.

— Let me get this straight, little man. You want to check out the mines that everyone is banned from because of security issues because there might be some magical thingy that might help stop Rumple from killing Captain Hook aka Killian Jones? — asked Jack while sitting two or three seats away from me, not noticing my mere existing.

— That's correct — said Henry while he looked at Jack expecting an answer.

— So my opinion's are, get killed by Regina aka your mom because I didn't stop you, get killed by my sister aka your other mom because I didn't go with you or get killed by my nephew aka you because you dragged me to the mines? — asked Jack while Henry nodded while he looked at Jack with hope. Jack looked like he was thinking before I saw him shrug.

— I'm going with the third option, just let me change and get actual things we need in a mine. Just wait for me, here have some money and buy yourself a hot chocolate or something while you wait — Said Jack before walking off after giving Henry the money.

Some minutes passed and I see Jack with a tight white shirt and some loose military pants making me swallow hard yet again.

— Let's go little man, adventure and possible death from your uncle awaits — said Jack while he and Henry walked off towards the mines. I should probably tell the Charming's that their kid and grandchild are both going towards danger.

I finally arrive at the apartment and knock on the door. I'm received by Snow White otherwise known as Mary Margaret and Prince Charming also known as David. I can see in the background Emma Swan and Regina, or the Evil Queen, talking over a cup of coffee.

— I'm going to make it short mate's and lassie's, Henry and Jack are going towards the mines that she banned the public from going to — I said while I pointed at Regina while everyone looked at each other in what seemed to be panic.

— Well, what are we waiting for? — asked David while everyone started to leave the apartment heading towards the abandoned mines.

When we get there, the first thing we see is Henry looking around in panic until his eyes land in us where he makes a sign to follow him.

— C'mon, hurry! — said Henry as we all ran after him, following him. I can't help but wonder where Jack is.

We look around and see Henry running towards Jack whom is laying in the ground while some blood come from his head and from a big shard of cristal stabbed in his leg.

I run towards Jack and pick him up while I let the other's guide me to the hospital. I look at Jack face and see how his eyes open slightly making him stare at me. I smile at him and see how a small blush spreads though his cheeks before he closes his eyes again with a sight.

— You told on Henry and me, didn't you? — Jack asked me while his face scrunched in slight pain while he snuggled closer to my chest. I look at him and smile to myself.

— Aye, mate — I said while I kept on following the rest of the Charming's. I feel some lips in my check making me stop for a second before going back to running. I look at Jack and I see him smiling like if he didn't do anything, like if he won a game.

I stop in my tracks and give Jack a kiss. I gave him a peck but then I gave him another one and another and another until we were kissing passionately. I feel him moan quietly when I enter my tounge in his mouth and with that little insetive I started sucking and exploring every single corner of his mouth.

— Hook! Stop kissing my son and get your ass inside of the car — screamed David making me pull away from Jack's mouth with a smile and a bit of embarrassment but Jack gave me another bruising kiss while he pulled my hair and then let me run to the truck.

Looks like I won a battle but it seems Jack won the war, yet again...

NERVOS HALLOWEEN EVENT !!

It's the month of October, and I've decided to host an event!! I will post my own fics, but you may also request some from me until Oct. 15th so I have time to still write and post them during this month. Interested? More rules can be found below!

1. Fred J. Jackson was an American author, playwright, screenwriter, novelist, director & producer for the pulps & stage & screen.

2 thru 6. Fred was a highly prolific author of short stories, serialized novels & movie scripts.

He used the great pen name of Victor Thorne.

Though he usually wrote for the pulp mags, many of his tales were adapted into film - but, by others...

Among his works are:

A. The musical "La La Lucille."

B. The novels "Hidden Princess" & "Anne Against the World."

C. The plays "Iron Woman", "Naughty Wife", "Stop Flirting" & "The Bishop Misbehaves!"

D. The screenplays "Man Hunt", "Wells Fargo", "Miracle on Main Street", "Dark Swan", "Stormy Weather" & "The Fatal Ring."

E. The short stories "High Speed", "Jack of Diamonds" & "The Morocco Box."

7 & 8. "La La Lucille" was one of Fred's best works. Here we have 1 page of the piano score for it & a look at it's stage production as well.

1913: Missives of War!

Bio - This year started out like the last few. With Lovecraft sleeping the days away. Waiting for night's release.

But, his life was about to change...

As a devoted reader, Howard had strong opinions about what he liked. And he wasn't shy about sharing his thoughts.

HPL was a regular commentator, of the early pulps, for 2 years now.

He probably didn't know that his most recent, long & venomous missive was about to stir up a letter 'war.'

One whose 'battles' would last for almost a year!

Lovecraft had become incensed of the amount of space that Argosy¹ had given over to Fred Jackson's "trivial, effeminate &... coarse" romances.

Howard followed this up with his criticism that Fred's characters had the "delicate passions & emotions proper (only) to negroes & anthropoid apes²!"

This led to, as (the writer) "Arthur³" best describes as, "a snail mail flame war" between 'allies' of both men!

For HPL, this meant an attack on himself - as the "Poet of Providence" & the old style language that he used.

Focusing on how Howard must be "in love with his dictionary!!"

Lovecraft responded by complaining about Fred's "erotic fiction⁴" (innocent by today's standards)!

And, how Howard preferred tales "where acts of valor are more dwelled upon, than (the) affairs of Venus⁵."

Numerous of Fred's defenders kept the venom flowing. One going so far as to threaten "to loosen up my .44-6 on that man Lovecraft!!"

HPL then escalated the 'fight', venting his contempt - in verse⁶!

One John Russell became Howard's personal 'enemy' - by responding in kind!!

The whole thing was a sort of an early "rap battle" with "wicked burns" being spit out by both sides!

In the end, both men came to regard each other as intellectual equals, veterans of a rarified battleground...

This poetic "smackdown" would see both men suddenly become 'noticed.'

Notes:

1. Argosy was the 1st American pulp fiction magazine. It specialized in short story, male oriented tales.

2. As usual, HPL likes to use race & bad pseudo-science to empower the impact of his curses.

3. I don't know who writes under this name, so don't ask. She/He/It does have some great turns of phrase.

4. A common trope of this 'romance' material is rape 'enjoyable' enough for the 'heroine' to fall in 'love' with the 'hero' - without her ever consenting to have 'sex'!!!

This is something that still crops up in rape fantasies, porn movies, etc...

5. Venus was the Roman Goddess of Love & Sexual Passion. She's the Latin version of the earlier Greek Aphrodite.

6. Mostly heroic couplets in the style of Pope & Dryden.

Lovecraft's poetic missives include the "Ad Criticos" cycle & " The End of the Jackson War."

Quotes:

1. In 1913 (during the 'war'), Howard stated - in some surprise, "(My little letter) created an immense sensation (of hatred) among... Argosy's readers."

2. In 1916, HPL crowed that, "The editor... had anti-Lovecraft letters - on the following month!"

"Then, I (wrote) another satire, flaying my tormentors in stinging iambic pentameter⁷."

"This too was printed - til the storm of fury waxed high."

(The dispute was, for the most part, quite good natured.)

Yandere fairytale au! Swan lake or jack the giant slayer with Joseph joestar or speedwagon or kars?

The princess who became a swan (pt1)

You sat on a chair looking at the moon. You knew you could run away but even then you would never truly be free. Not while he still had control.

“My dear swan you’ve been looking at the moon for far too long” a deep voice spoke as you felt a large hand grip your shoulder.

“I thought you’d try to indulge yourself but it seems you’d rather mope around” he commented only to cause your hatred towards the male to grow. You turned your head back to see him. Long dark hair contoured his sharp face and pearly skin that seemed to glow in the moonlight.

He pulled one hand away, various rings with fine jewels covered his fingers. He rested his head on said hand before pulling a small smirk.

“So are you done being so miserable? I’d actually like for you to give me some company as it gets dreadfully lonely reading by myself” Kars asked. You stood up and faced him properly, feeling the fire in your heart.

“You have the audacity to mock my emotions after what you did to me! You stole away my freedom and took me far from those I love! You even dare to torment me further by calling me your swan. Is that how you like to cruelly remind me of what you’ve made me!” you yelled at him before trying to run from him only for him to grab your wrist.

“You are the one who put yourself in this position. I offered you dazzling jewels and silken robes. I offered you the softest pelts and exotic treasures yet you still rejected me, surely you understand that hurt me” he said as he looked at you with his crimson eyes.

“When you mean hurt you mean your ego at most, you are a selfish man in every way imaginable! I’d never marry a man who only wished to benefit themself, it would be my failure if I was to let my kingdom succumb to a greed such as yours!” you hissed as you tried to escape his grasp only to make him pull you tightly into his frame

“Lets not fight about the ins and outs of who’s to blame, you only have a few hours left after all” he said as he stroked your hair.

“Why don’t you just sit down and relax with me, you'll wear down your beauty if you keep frowning” he continued before you pushed away from him. You ran past him and through the halls and ran down as your long dress flowed behind but Kars was not worried as he knew you would come back, you always did.

You ran through the dark woods with tears in your eyes as the sky began to lighten. The forest thinned out in the middle to reveal a gorgeous garden long forgotten, a place only few know. The Swan lake.

You sat beside the lake weeping. Knowing that despite how much you wish upon a shooting star or how much you prayed to god in the heavens above that there was no escape. You knew how to break the spell you had read it out of Baron Kars notes but who would ever proclaim their love to you at the dead of night, let alone keep their promise. The swans of the lake pitied you as they had been cursed in a very similar way by the cruel Baron but unlike you they no longer had any hope of returning to the ones they loved, they were stolen from their husbands and wives and had their promises of a safe return broken in the heart of war from the evil sorcerer.  

As the first rays of sunshine peered from the horizon you felt your body lose balance before you fell into the crystal water of the lake. You shut your eyes as you felt your body become consumed by the curse. Eventually you emerged from the water, knowing that you had been reclaimed by your curse of day. You opened your eyes to see all the other swans around you in the lake and the forest behind you.

You turned and returned to the land before flapping your wings while running, soon the air under your wings lifted you into the sky. The higher you got the smaller everything became, even your problems seemed to become insignificant. You were touching the heavens like many dreamed to accomplish.

A brunette prince let out a yawn as he waited by the stable as he held a crossbow in hand. He was waiting to see if a certain knight accepted his invitation for an afternoon of competitive hunting. He huffed before having a look around the grounds before seeing the familiar face of the fair maid Suzie Qutaro cutting roses for his mother. She noticed him and waved while giving a sheepish smile, he gave her a cheeky smile back making a rosy hue to form on her cheeks before returning to her duties in a flustered state. He snickered a bit before hearing a pair of footsteps.

He looked to the otherside to see the blonde male which he had been waiting for.

“Took you long enough Caesar, I was beginning to think you didn’t have the balls to accept my challenge” the prince smugly spoke as he stretched.

“Well unlike you I actually have other things to do” Caesar commented as he walked closer.

“And if I remember correctly you lost our sparring yesterday, a four to ten if I remember correctly… you’re probably only doing this to get even with me” the male continued with a laugh which irritated the prince.

“So what if I am, I bet you’ll scare away all the wildlife with your presence alone” he retorted with a sly tone as he entered the stable and grabbed his horse. The blonde muttered something under his breath as he followed the prince and grabbed his own horse before the set of far beyond the palace grounds.

It seemed like hours of riding for the two and as night drew close it seemed less likely that either one of the young men were going to bring any trophies home.

“We should just give up now, It’ll be dark soon” Caesar said to Joseph but the ego struck brunette did not listen as he searched deeper into the thick forest. He was determined to prove that he was greater than the blonde.

“Fine then, I’ll leave by myself… if you get eaten by the wolves then it’s not my fault” Caesar stated as rolled his eyes before he began walking back to where they left their horses.

Joseph only snickered at the blonde, thinking about how much of a coward he was to leave now. He kept up his search for something worthy for his display but to no success but when he realised the sun was setting and his luck was not with him today he found what he was looking for. A snow white swan sleeping just a few meters in front of him, it seemed almost like it was given to him on a silver tray.

All he needed to do was shoot it in the heart and it was his. He had a steady aim, his finger slowly before the loud shout of an owl threw him off, causing the arrow to hit the swans wing instead.

You woke up to feel the sharp pain of the arrow, you screamed out before running deeper into the forest, the brunette was quick in his attempt to apprehend you. You tried to fly but it only hurt more.

You managed to get at a far distance from the man who was chasing you but you knew you needed to hide. You looked around to find some shrubs that might offer a good hiding place. You hid yourself and watched through the shrubs as he approached before standing around to try to figure where you had gone, you thought you had managed to lose him before you saw the moon begin to rise.

Just as the prince was about to give up he saw you appear from the bushes, a beautiful young woman adone in a swan feathered gown he was captivated by you as he saw the most beautiful woman he’d seen. As she ran he saw the arrow in her arm, he tried to reach you in an attempt to help you, unaware that you were the swan he had shot.

You panicked as he still chased through the forest but just as you began to lose your strength you felt a pair of arms pull you aside, you looked up to see Kars looking down at you with an emotion you hadn’t seen before.

“I’m glad I came in time” he said empathetically before tracing his finger against the arrow in your arm causing you to flinch.

“This is why I need you to stay with me, that horrible man could have killed you dear” he said in a soft yet condoning manner, at this moment you knew he was just using the situation as a way to scare you out of leaving him but yet you still held onto him, you were afraid as you knew you could have very well died.

“Without me you’re defenceless” he continued as he stroked your hair as you buried your head in his chest and when you finally looked at him again you realised that you were both back in his castle.

“Now I’ll have to remove that arrow so lay down and stay still” he requested, you laid on the love seat knowing very well that he wasn’t going to let his crimson eyes off of you for sometime after this incident.  

Meanwhile Joseph the forest on his horse with a bloody feather from the mysterious woman's dress, wondering if he’d ever see you again, hoping he would meet you again in a better circumstance.

Meg's Game of Tales

Hello my lovelies! In celebration of getting 2000 followers on this blog, I've decided to do something a little different! I love fairytales and I love a good AU so I'm going to combine them. Below, I've listed 19 of my favorite fairy tales. For each one, I will write a story for one character that YOU choose.

Now, these fairytales are going to be a bit different. There will be a mix of both the Brothers Grimm versions and the more family friendly Disney-esque versions(not exactly like it cause, ya know, copyright.) They might end up role-reversed, non-happy ending, or even a complete reimagining/retelling. Some might work better with just the Grimm version and some might work better for the family friendly version if I haven't read the actually fairytale ex: The Little Mermaid. We'll have to wait and see. The point is that no one knows what it's going to be until it's done. Not even me!

There will be ONE character x reader main pairing per fairytale, however, If you'd like to see a certain side pairing along with it, I will be happy to oblige. One character, one fairytale. No repeat characters, and none that I've already written for! (So no Beauty and the Beast with Sandor or Cinderella with Jaime/Tyrion as I've already written those). And each character can only be a main ONCE! There are a ton of GoT characters so that shouldn't be an issue! Oh and the best part? This does not interfere with the requests I'm currently working on or future requests. And, the possibility to turn ANY of these into a series is there! What do you think?? Are you ready?

I try to stay as neutral to physical appearance as I possibly can so that everyone gets an equal chance at emerging themselves into the role, no matter the reader’s ethnicity, height, build, and so on.

Writing plus size!reader and writing about eating disorders and body immage issues is too triggering for me as I, myself, struggle with body dysmorphia on a daily basis.

TO THINK ABOUT WHEN REQUESTING:

Don’t be too vague with your request. For example, a request asking for a fic where “the reader is a character x’s sister”, or "the reader is shy” or”sassy”, is not enough for me to go on. I need a scenario, a plot, an action, an endgame, or a dialogue prompt.

Contrary to the previous point; don’t make requests with too much detail or too long of a timeline, either. I don’t have the energy nor time to write requests that are spread out over eternity and that would end up being as long as a novel.

When requesting prompts from my prompt-lists, ALWAYS include the number and name of the list, not just the quote. The lists you can request for are the following:

Overdue Intro!

Hi! My name for all intents and purposes is Goat, and this is my little slice inside of the male reader side of reader inserts! I take both fic and headcanon requests and I write for a huge variety of shows, but there’s more than listed bellow so if you’re curious about another show or a specific character, just drop an ask and I’ll let you know if I’ll write for them! Ch. 7

Emma pulled open her car door and hoped she still had a plastic bag lingering in the back from a previous take out order. Sure enough, she did. She grabbed the bag and slammed the door in frustration. This was either going to be a onetime thing or a problem. She wrapped the bag around the knife and fabric before pulling it from the tire. She took the evidence and set it down, so she could pop open the hood of the bug.

She was about to grab the spare tire and jack when she realized that the front of her car was even, she looked to the left side of the car and it was not only one tire but both front tires that had been slashed. “Damn!” she shouted as she slammed the hood.

She pulled the phone from the back pocket of her jeans. She was about to dial when she felt someone approaching at her back. She slipped her hand around her gun and almost drew it as she turned around but luckily, she stopped before pulling it on an officer. Even if it was Humbert.

“Something wrong Emma, I thought you’d be well on your way by now?” asked Graham. 

 “My tires were slashed.” She said flatly.

Graham’s eyes went wide. “Any idea who would do this?”

She picked up the bag and showed him the knife and fabric. “Looks like my new Scottish friends.”

“Ah, well this is what happens when you mess with the mob, Emma. You should be careful about who you piss off.” He scolded.

She pursed her lips. She really didn’t need a lecture from anyone, especially him. “I need a tow.”

He smiled and pressed the button on the microphone attached to his shoulder. “Hey this is Officer Humbert, I need a tow truck for a yellow VW bug outside of the sorority house on Bell street. Yeah, belongs to Emma Swan. Someone slashed her front tires.”

Her phone rang almost immediately after he mentioned her name. She looked down and saw Killian’s name flash on her phone causing her heart to jump a little. “Hey.” she said.

Killian’s voice sounded urgent. “What’s going on? I just heard on the radio that your tires were slashed. Are you alright?”

“Yes, I’m here at the sorority house doing interviews. I came out and my front tires were slashed. Looks like it was retaliation for picking up that Scottish thug yesterday.” Explained Emma.   

“Do you need a ride? I can come pick you up.” asked Killian.

“Humbert’s here. He made the call for me. He actually let me work with him to interview the sorority girls for the case.”

“Humbert. Great. I’m glad he could help.”

She could hear the sarcasm in his response. “Yeah, he’s actually been ok.”

“Emma, can I give you a ride? We are going to the same place.” Called Graham.

“Looks like Humbert can give me a ride. I was planning to go interview Tiana’s ex and his friend Al.” said Emma.

“Ok. If you need me to pick you up after, give me a call. I’m happy to get you and if you need to use my truck, it’s yours.”  He replied.

“How did I get so lucky? I’ll call you after and let you know if I need a ride.”

“Emma, be safe.” He said softly.

She felt the warmth in his voice. “I will. Talk soon.” She heard the soft click and turned back to see Humbert eyeing up her car.

“They will be here soon, we don’t have to stick around for the tow. They will take your car to Wally’s garage in town. Wally’s will call you once they have the tires replaced.” Said Graham.

“Ok, let me grab a few things from my car and we can go. Thanks for your help.” said Emma.

She grabbed her bag, the evidence that she pulled from her tire, and a few other valuables from her glove box. She tucked them into her shoulder bag and quickly moved to join Humbert in his car.

“Where to?” He asked.

“9756 Goddard Lane. It’s an apartment building.” She said.

“Ah, Bachelor Party Arms. I know it well.” He chuckled.

“Bachelor Party Arms?” she asked.

He started the car. “It’s the closest thing to a frat house off campus. These apartments attract young male college students.”

“Just males?” she asked.

“You can just smell the testosterone coming from the place, no woman in her right mind would rent there.” He joked.

“Great, Can’t wait.” She mocked.

 Killian reluctantly hung up the phone and let out the nervous breath he’d been holding since her name came up on the radio.

“Everything alright mate?” asked Robin.

Killian nervously tapped his fingers on the table in front of him. “Aye, Emma’s alright. Someone slashed her front tires. She said it could be retaliation from a perp she tagged yesterday.”

“Oh, that doesn’t sound good. Who’d she tag?” asked Robin.

Killian grimaced. “One of the Scots.”

“Oh, mate. Didn’t anyone warn her about that lot?” asked Robin.

“Emma’s a grown woman. Have any of our previous warnings stopped her from doing her job?” asked Killian.

Robin chuckled.” No, she seems to run to danger rather than cower from it.”

David walked into the room hearing the tail end of his sentence. “If you are talking about Emma, you’ve got her pegged.  She’s one of the bravest people I know. What’s she gotten herself into this time.”

“She messed with the Scots.” Said Robin using his best Scottish accent.

David stopped shuffling papers. “Please say she didn’t.”

Killian ran his hand through his hair and sighed. “Wish I could mate, she tagged one yesterday. Right before she met up with your wife for lunch.”

David shook his head.” Those punks are dangerous.”

“Aye, and now one of them has slashed Emma’s car tires.”

“Is she alright?” asked David.

“She’s fine. Humbert was there to give her a ride.” Said Killian.

“Humbert! You didn’t mention that git was there before.” Said Robin.

Killian shook his head and frowned.” Yeah, I’m not too crazy about it. He always acts like she owes him something for even doing the slightest work. I can’t imagine how he’s acting right now.”

“I know how he likes to get under your skin.” Said Robin.

“The bright side is that he is a cop, even if it is Humbert. Hopefully that will be a deterrent from any further mischief in the short term. We should get together and talk about this though. Emma’s going to have to be careful.” Said David.

“I thought about lending her my truck for a while but maybe I’ll rent a car for her. She should be inconspicuous for a while, at least until the Scots calm down. This will keep them guessing.” Said Killian.

“How do you suppose they knew where to find her car in the first place? It’s not like she was in their part of town. She was at the University.” Said Robin.

“They have eyes and ears everywhere. That group can be like roaches.” Said David.

Killian wasn’t quite so worried before his mates reminded him that he should be. He had to remember that Emma wasn’t the type to require a rescuer, so he would have to tread lightly with his suggestions.

“I’ll talk with her tonight when she finishes her interviews.” Said Killian.

“If you need a place to stay for a while you are both more than welcome to stay with Mary Margaret and I.” said David.

Killian pat him on the back.” Then the four of us would be walking around like zombies.”

David raised an eyebrow. “Hey, Davie is doing much better sleeping, well at least Mary Margaret and I have been. Our plan seems to be working for now.”

“Thank you, but if anyone of those punks even thinks about stepping into our home they will be sorry.” Said Killian.

“OK, but if you change your mind the offer stands.” Said David.

Killian nodded. He went to the computer to look up a rental for Emma. He’d at least get her transportation until her car was ready or longer if she needed it. He knew she didn’t need his protection but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to do it. He loved her and hopefully she would be on board with this plan.

Tiana sat frozen in place as she heard noises moving towards them. She could hear Lottie whimpering lightly in the room. She wanted to cry too but she had to stay strong. She had no idea who had them or why they were taken. Well, she knew she was nabbed because she couldn’t stay out of Lottie’s business even if she tried. At that moment she couldn’t help wishing she didn’t love Lottie so much. She hated feeling selfish, it wasn’t who she was; but she couldn’t help feeling that if she didn’t chase after her that she wouldn’t be sitting in the dark, tied to a chair, frightened for her life.

There were muffled voices outside of the room that sounded like they were arguing. They were slowly approaching, and she could make out more of their words.

“This is your fault. Why’d you take the other girl? We didn’t need her. Now what?” grumbled the voice.

Her body shook at the sound of a large bang somewhere near them. “She was snooping around. Look, just stick to the plan.” Boomed the other voice.

She could hear Charlotte whimpering louder. “This is all my fault Ti , I’m so sorry.”

“Hush, Lottie. Just Hush.”

3, 4 and 11 for the ask game!

3) Which season finale was your favorite/least favorite?My favorite season finale has to be season 5. Swan Song is just so damn beautiful and I’m a sucker for a thoughtful ending. The way seasons 1-5 were composed as a complete story with an appropriately scaled climax (combining the large magnitude stakes with a very personal conflict), that’s so hard to find in a story and they pulled it off wonderfully.My least favorite season is hard to pick, largely because I don’t think I’ve actually seen a season finale for seasons 10-12 (since I was busy with law school). I’d probably call it a tie between season 7 and season 9. Season 7 because the season was underwhelming generally and the cliffhanger of everyone being gone except for Sam made me feel... well, I was kinda like “okay, so is Sam gonna retire or solo-hunt?” But it left me more confused than hooked. And season 9’s finale was just forgettable to me. Gadreel blew himself up or something? If the only thing I can remember from the finale is something neither of the brothers were involved in, it’s problematic.4) Which is your favorite episode?I’m gonna categorically eliminate all the shtick episodes because how can I choose between Baby and French Mistake? I’m also gonna pass on Swan Song despite it being so fucking good because I already talked about it and it’s technically good but I have eps I just enjoy more. I think in terms of episodes that I just love to watch, it’s a tie between My Bloody Valentine and The End.My Bloody Valentine because I love it when a show revisits a plot point (like Sam’s addiction) and also I am such a sucker for Sam with powers. The way he completed shifted from his gentle default state to the “wait your turn” fucking-in-charge Sam always makes me squee. And manifesting the choice to turn down more power/blood with the largest display of powers we’ve seen up to that point. Excuse me while I go bite down on a wooden spoon so that I don’t scream.The End because I love a story that throws readers or characters into the deep end— often as a hard cut to a new time/place/scenario, and then slowly reveals how such a stark transformation occurred. Jensen was amazing in it and Jared fucking killed it so hard that that man can never wear a white suit again in his life without causing hundreds of fans to die from heart attacks. It’s just so damn effective because it’s so different and immersive and hints at so much but leaves enough unknown that we get to write our own horrific stories (figuratively and literally).11) If you could bring back any character, would you? If so, whom?For most shows/stories I’m generally against bringing people back, but with Supernatural they seem to do it so much that I feel it’s less inappropriate.It probably goes without saying that I’d bring back Ruby, but it’s not just because I ship her with Sam. •I think she’d be a really interesting way for the show to bring back/bring up the demon blood/Sam’s powers plot. The show hasn’t touched these issues in so long and I’d fucking murder to get me some answers/more exploration of that. •I think that it’d be interesting to see how much Sam has matured since season 4 by having him come face-to-face with his guilty pleasure/enabler. As much as I’d love for him to hear her out and reach some kind of reconciliation (I mean how many other enemies have they learned to work with), I think it’d just be fascinating to watch any interaction he’d have with her. •I want to see its impact on Sam and Dean’s dynamic. The brothers’ routine bickering is beyond trite at this point. There needs to be more nuance to the interpersonal conflict and while the introduction of Mary and Jack has seemed to help, Ruby is a very different flavor. I want her in the conflict as another person that causes Sam to stand up for himself and his choices/well-intentioned mistakes.•She’s a great foil to Sam. I loved them as a complimentary pair. Her as the evil bordering on good and him as the good bordering on evil. Small, female, takes-no-shit, versus large, male, compassionate.•The show needs its badass women—the show needs more diversity in general. I don’t need Ruby to come back as Genevieve Padalecki. Let her be a woman of color. Let’s just get some more variety in the mix and let their different identities matter.•Also, I want to see the show deal with a romantic relationship (even if it’s an ended relationship). Imagine the brothers having to work with Sam’s ex. I know some people don’t like the idea of a romantic relationship in the show because it might mess up the brothers’ dynamic, but it’s been 13 seasons, the show needs new dynamics. Having them learn to incorporate a different type of relationship would give the show more fuel. And like I said, I don’t need Sam & Ruby to have an ongoing romantic/sexual relationship. I’m cool with them being a little awkward about everything that they’ve been through, but having to work together because it’s necessary or whatever. Give the show a new sort of interpersonal tension and give Jared & Jensen something new to work with.

READY PLAYER ONE BY ERNEST CLINE  ★½ ☆☆☆☆

In the year 2044, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the virtual utopia known as the  OASIS. Wade’s devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world’s digital confines, puzzles that are based on their creator’s obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them. When Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade’s going to survive, he’ll have to win—and confront the real world he’s always been so desperate to escape.

Where do I even begin with this trainwreck? Look, I get it. I see why this was such a hit, especially with a certain audience. It hits the Nostalgia factor right on the nose and runs with it. Maybe if I was a straight boy who grew up in the 80s with the privilege to play all these games and watch all these movies, I’d have enjoyed it too. But I’m not, and I didn’t.

Wade Watts is the definition of a Gary Stu. He’s immediately good at everything he does, and is the smartest and the best at what matters in this world. I find it incredibly difficult to believe that he was able to read so many books, and watch so many movies multiple times over such a short period of time. Retaining the information is a little more believable because there are people out there who remember every single thing they read or watch, but adding that to how amazing he is, it got on my nerves so much. So often I see people complain about Mary Sues and these seemingly perfect female characters, but the second that same kind of character is a man, they love them! No one liked Bella Swan. Hell, I don’t like Bella Swan. She’s bland and has zero redeeming or interesting qualities. But guess what! Wade Watts is the same way! You can’t hate one and like the other, that’s not how this works. Yes I see so many people hating characters like Bella while loving characters like Wade. Not only is he bland, he’s one of Those Fanboys. The one’s who see someone in a shop wearing some sort of nerdy shirt and go “UM DO YOU EVEN KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ANSWER THIS OBSCURE TRIVIA QUESTION TO PROVE YOUR WORTH!!” and he does this in canon. This is an actual scene that occurs! And he’s praised and literally applauded when the other character can’t answer. You don’t have to take some quiz and know every single piece of trivia to enjoy something. It doesn’t make you a lesser fan, and I hate the underlying message of this book is “if you know everything about pop culture you’ll come out on top”. Art3mis was the best thing about this book, but even she was sidelined and not allowed to live to her full potential. She exists solely for Wade and nothing more. Their romance is disgusting and while she makes incredibly good points about how Wade doesn’t really know her, no one listens to her and of course she eventually gives in and the get together. Never mind he cyberstalked her, never mind he pined over her for years and treated her like she was some sort of celebrity who could do no wrong, they get together because Wade is the Hero and he has to get the Girl. But it’s okay because he doesn’t think she’s ugly! Even though she has a birthmark! He’s a Nice Guy, and thinks she’s beautiful anyway, he’s so nice he thinks she’s even more beautiful with the birthmark! That’s not to say a birthmark makes you ugly, but the phrasing of how he romanticised her was so gross like he was fetishizing her. Which is another problem this book had. Look. I get it. People have kinks. There’s nothing wrong with that. But sometimes, you see a work of art, or you read a book, and you can just tell what the author or artist’s kinks and fetishes are and it makes me so uncomfortable. We as readers don’t need to be subjected to your sexual fantasies, especially in a non-erotica novel. If this was even a romance novel, I’d maybe let it slide. But it’s scifi. Non erotic scifi. The most romance we got (outside of the fetish implications) were a couple mentions of kissing, and a mention of masturbation. Please, leave your fetishes in erotica. When the book actually focused on plot related things, and I mean that in terms of action and not “here’s some background information to make the plot make sense”, it was decent. This book was so full of potential which is partly why I’m so frustrated with it. But even the action scenes were tainted because we didn’t get to figure things out on our own. Everything was explained to us. The references had to be explained, so people unfamiliar with obscure 80s popculture wouldn’t be completely lost, but then what’s the point? Why not just leave the explanations alone and let the real audience you were looking to grab enjoy it. I get that the 80s were important, especially from a technology stand point, but I just don’t care. Nostalgia is the only thing this book has going for it and that’s not what makes a good book. Even figuring out the riddles was taken away from the reader. Half the time, Wade immediately told us what he figured out so there was no mystery for us as readers. There was no fun puzzle to solve, because Wade already solved it. When he did have trouble, it was with something we would have no hope to figure out because it involved actually playing a video game. This book was really just an excuse to shove in as many 80s references as possible. Like it was shouting “HEY THE 80S WERE GREAT REMEMBER THE 80S? THEY WERE GREAT!” but only people who lived through it could possibly care. So maybe I’m not the intended audience. Fine, whatever. I’m just mad that so many people are saying what a great book this is and how perfect it is and how amazing a character Wade Watts is when none of that is true. It’s true for a very small group of people, and then those people hype it up so much that others agree automatically because if this many people say it’s good, then it must be! I don’t like how it treats autism, I don’t like how it treats its female characters I hate to count Aech as a female character because honestly? When your only queer character is pretending to be straight and male for 90% of a standalone novel, then it doesn’t count , I don’t like that it sidelines everyone for the sake of Wade. He didn’t even grow as a character. So why 1.5 (two by goodreads standards) stars and not a solid 1? Because I appreciate the message that world sucks and sometimes video games are a great escape to that. I appreciate the message that while escapes are good, you have to go back and deal with the real world every now and then. I appreciate the message that letting corporations control the internet is a terrible idea, and we should all band together and fight them until they give up (and hopefully arrested, but hey that’s why this is fantasy). This was full of potential wrapped in an incredible amount of suck. I do think the movie shares that potential, but I’m not getting my hopes up for it. Sea Sickness (Part 1 of 2)

Pairings: Charles Vane/Reader (suggested)

Warnings: None I don’t think!

It had taken many weeks for you to even manage to venture out of your cabin. Kept laid flat out in a hammock trying desperately to contain the meager contents of your stomach. You hadn’t been lying when you’d said to Vane that you got sea sick. You loved the sea, loved the rolling of the waves and the smell of the salt, but you loved it from the safety of land because the sea most definitely did not love you back.

Now though you’d gotten to the point where you could stumble from the dank room below up to the deck and to the stern of the ship. If you sat very still on the floor there with your head resting on the railings legs dangling from beneath them you could just about calm your stomach.

The crew after staring at you for some days in surprise had decided the best way to cope with the new woman on their boat was to simply ignore you. Y/N was grateful for their consideration and repaid it by ignoring them as well.

Who you couldn’t ignore though was the arrogant Captain Vane who swanned around his ship like a king. Who took great pleasure in your suffering and tormented you daily on your inability to even walk on the deck of his ship without turning green.

“Darling?” speak of the devil, a hand landed on your shoulder as you turned your head slightly to rest on the salt encrusted wood of the ship’s railings. Through tangled salty hair you could make out Vane’s thigh, not bothering to lift your head to see his face when you already knew that all you’d find was a smirk that would have made you slap him if you could have moved. “What do you want?” you croaked out instead.

“Here” he crouched down next to you and produced a flask in one hand. “It’ll help” he promised trying to make you take it. Y/N though didn’t even have the energy to hold up the flask, you’d used up everything you had by getting to the deck this morning. Instead you just shook your head “can’t”

Vane quickly looked around the deck, satisfied that no one was looking at them he gently raised the flask to your mouth tipping it back so the cool cold water flowed into your mouth. Y/N swallowed greedily, desperate to wet your parched mouth. You could have sobbed when Vane took the flask away from your mouth. Using his thumb to wipe your mouth “too much will just come back up again” he warned as you made a noise of protest.

“Why are you being nice?” you asked in a voice that had lost at least some of the croakiness.

“Contrary to popular opinion I don’t get off on watching others suffer” he capped the water flask shoving it back onto the clip on his belt. “If you get anymore dehydrated I’ll be carrying a corpse instead of a Merchant. Not good for business to let your crew die darling”

Y/N managed a small smile “always business Captain?”

“What else pet” he looked over at the door leading below “when’s the last time you slept properly?”

“I don’t sleep” you answered trying to calm the swimming in your stomach from even just the clear water. “The hammocks sway, it makes me throw up. I tried the floor but it’s wet and I’m cold”

Vane sighed loudly “Fuck that” he reached out and putting a hand under your arms he hauled you to your feet “can you stand?”

“Don’t know” he let go of you and you wobbled dangerously, looking ominously like you were about to fall over board. Cursing once more Vane grabbed you, wrapping an arm around your waist he half carried half dragged you over to the doors leading to his own cabin. He growled something vaguely threatening at Jack who appeared at the doors then slammed them closed behind him. Y/N was trying to help but you didn’t know how much help you were being, probably not much.

You were laid down on a soft bed, a large bed with a mattress, dry covers and one that didn’t sway in rhythm with the ship. This was his bed your brain loosely registered, you were in Charles Vane’s bed. “I told you before no beds Vane”

He barked out a laugh as he sat down next to you “this wasn’t what I imagined when I thought of you in my bed”

“You thought about that?”

“What do you think?” he asked you eyes raking over your body, his hand came over to rest on your thigh squeezing almost painfully. Y/N honestly wanted to reply, wanted to do anything. All you ended up managing though was gasping out “I think I’m going to be sick again”

“Fuck” Vane jumped up pulling your upper body over the edge of the bed and grabbing a chamber pot as you vomited up the few bits of food and the water that was in your stomach back up. Your raw throat burnt from the acid and you wanted to crawl in a hole and just stay there. Your stomach muscles were cramped from vomiting and your whole body ached. “Alright?” Vane asked you as he came back from throwing the contents out the window of his cabin.

Y/N managed to nod and Vane gently rolled you back over laying you back down flat on the bed. He pushed hair sticking to your face out of the way laying a hand on your clammy skin. “You weren’t joking about the sickness were you?”

“Does it look like I was joking?”

“You look like death” he admitted getting to his feet. “Stay here” he ordered “try and sleep. We’ll make land tomorrow”

“Nassau?” you asked suddenly ridiculously happy to hear they were close to the wretched island. Vane grunted and nodded his head. He was leaving when you grabbed his hand squeezing tightly “thank you” you whispered.

Vane looked at your clasped hands obviously not sure what to do. Finally he squeezed back saying nothing as you let go and he left you in his bed.

Y/N closed your eyes and took a long deep breath trying to settle your stomach. You could smell Vane everywhere on the sheets and in the room it was the scent of male sweat and something vaguely like cinnamon and gunpowder that made up who he was. You’d expected to feel a lot more uncomfortable in his bed but you found the allure of a soft mattress and covers hard to resist and soon found exhaustion finally taking you to sleep.
