Ruben Amorim Should Not Return To Man United Next Season

It's a sad state of affairs watching Man United in 2025.

When Ruben Amorim came in to replace Eric Ten Haag, it was meant to be a sign of change and a new direction for a team that too often underachieved in big games.

Where we are now is a long way off from what we thought would happen and among the main issues, is Ruben Amorim himself.

Mate, how long does it take you to realize that Rasmus Hojlund is cheeks? How long does it take you to recognize that we are a much better attacking team with Joshua Zirkzee up top?

Alejandro Garnacho is another one. I can't understand what Amorim sees in this guy, and the more I watch him play, the more I see how he makes decisions, and I am starting to believe the reports about him leaking the team's lineups.

And it's not just in the attacking third either.

For the first 4 months of Amorim's tenure, he refused to play Casemiro. This even though, he struggled to find someone to partner Manuel Ugarte in mid field, although his selections at the wing back positions were another headache that he seems to have remedied.

However look no further than this past week against Lyon in the Europa League for another example.

Altar Bayindr has 3 appearance in the Carabao Cup, 2 in the Europa League and he's kept 2 clean sheets. He may not be the ideal choice but choosing Andre Onana over him given Onana's current form, is an act of insanity.

Too often, I find myself wondering, what is this manager looking at? The rumors are that Amorim doesn't watch the players up close in training anymore, and is instead watches the team from almost 200 meters away,

There are too many red flags to count with this manager, and the biggest danger is what his impact on the financial side could be.

The idea that we need to revamp the squad and bring in players that are specific to Amorim's system, is a joke, and I would feel this way no matter who our manager was.

I feel that United must outgrow the idea of acquiring players to suit an individual manager's system and instead find players who are consistent performers, then find the managers that suits the players we have.

If Amorim's wish list includes man like Gyokeres, who currently valued at 80 million, then those are types of players we would need to break the bank to sign, then what the hell are we doing, when the whole point of this thing is to bring our wage expenditure down, after making years of poor decisions with players contracts?

It's scary fam.

Man United's financial needs are very much at odds with the acquisitions Amorim likely wants. United are already set to splash 60-80 million euros on Wolves playmaker, Cunha.

The safe bet in my opinion is to, not bring Amorim back next season, and looking at our position on the league table should tell you why.

It would be one thing if we were having a bad season, but under Ruben Amorim, we are experiencing our worst ever season. That's two very different things, and there's a big enough contrast to justify cutting ties with Ruben Amorim when the season ends.
