"You're in a hurry, Rin," Obito observes as his teammate rushes around the training ground, gathering all their kunai and shuriken with greater urgency than the rest of the team. Obito in particular, Minato notes with some amusement. "Are you going somewhere?"

"Mariko-senpai is back in-village and promised to let me shadow her on her shift," she says with a smile, not pausing. "She won't wait for me if I'm late."

"Sounds like a policy we should adopt," Kakashi mutters, too quiet for Obito to hear or no doubt there would be a loud squabble.

Instead, Obito just raises an eyebrow. "I'm still not convinced she exists, y'know."

Rin does pause at that and straightens, if only to be seen rolling her eyes unobstructed. "Just because she keeps getting called away when I mean to introduce you--"

"It's been three times!"

"She's Konoha's best trauma medic since Tsunade-sama!" Rin returns exasperatedly. "She's busy!"

"She totally doesn't exist! She's made up! A mass genjutsu!"

Minato is pretty sure Obito is mostly just teasing.

"Sensei knows she exists--they went to Academy together!"

All three pairs of eyes turn to him at that, and Minato has to swallow back his grimace.

"Maa."

"Sensei!"

"Mariko-san definitely exists, Obito," he says, drawing out a scowl from the boy.

A mass genjutsu might have been kinder to his ego, after all, than the very real woman who, upon seeing his completed Hiraishin, scoffed and implied that he was a two-bit ninja who needed seals to perform an E-rank jutsu.

so ! usagi didnt exactly have a Family bc his village raised children communally, all the adults were considered guardians and there were no specific parents or anything BUT

katsuichi had taken him in to train at a young age and after an Incident (causing usagi to be kicked from the village when he was like. 7-8) katsuichi became his adoptive father (usagi still called him sensei tho)

soon after that, usagi served mifune as well, and katsuichi and mifune were his main family for most of his life !

mariko and kenichi were also his childhood friends in his era (dubbing the future the “usagi era” and the past the “tmnt era” for simplicity) but they lived in a different town that was a bit of a long trip to get to ! however they were the only ones usagi rly considered close friends and family

INNN THE TMNT ERA !! is where usagi meets most of the known yojimbo characters !!!! he first meets yukichi who is an ally of the tmnt and is someone who enthusiastically warms up to usagi rly easily bc rabbits gotta stick together and whatnot ,,, jotaro is yukichi’s little relative that he is tasked with babysitting a lot , and jotaro quickly got attached to usagi bc they had the same black markings :]

tomoe ame is another ally of the tmnt but not from the start like yukichi was , she’s more of a rebellious spirit who fights in the war despite her father’s wishes

chizu is a part of the neko ninja , a gang on the streets who sway loyalty to whoever pays the most coin

kitsune and gen i havent thought much about yet since i want them to be more recurring but theyre there too !!

Until I came across a stack of recent collections at my local library, I hadn't read any Usagi Yojimbo for a few years -- I knew I'd missed all of the recent full-color collections, but not that I'd also missed a few from the end of the series at Dark Horse, back when it was still published in black-and-white. If you haven't read any for a while, either, the series is as good as ever, and as much as I liked the old uncolored books the newer collections are fabulous, too. These are the three I liked best.

Usagi Yojimbo: Mysteries (Volume 32) by Stan Sakai. Introduction by Yuki Matsuzaki. Dark Horse, 2018. 9781506705842. 180pp plus a cover/pinup gallery. Contains #159-165 of UY Volume 3.

Usagi comes across a dead, high-ranking samurai in the woods, and finds a little girl hiding nearby. On his way to take her to Inspector Ishida, they're accosted by some samurai who want the girl and even go so far as to attack Usagi when he's buying her a meal. It's a huge mistake and only the beginning of a larger mystery that starts with finding the girl's father's confession. Thieves Kiyoko and Kitsune make an appearance, and of course my favorite scenes are the "The Body in the Library" chapters.

Usagi Yojimbo: Homecoming (Volume 35) by Stan Sakai, colors by Tom Luth. Introduction by Peach Momoko. IDW, 2021. 9781684058020. Contains #8-14 of UY Volume 4.

This volume starts with a graphic lesson on how tatami mats are made, which plays into the plot. Usagi heads to the north province where he grew up. He crosses paths with samurai transporting new tatami mats for Lord Gifu, who will use them as part of a tea ceremony for an emissary of the shogun. When the samurai are attacked, Usagi helps defend the tatami from the ninja. Later Usagi is pursued because he continues to wear the mon of Lord Mifune, which begins a journey to his home village, Mariko (the woman he loved), and Kenichi, his childhood friend and rival. Katsuichi-sensei (Usagi's teacher) and Jotaro, who is secretly now Usagi's son, also make appearances. The best part of the color version: seeing the blue Usagi wears during the fight scenes.

Usagi Yojimbo: Tengu War! (Volume 36) by Stan Sakai, art assist by Randy Clute, colors by Hi-Fi Design. Introduction by Kevin Eastman. IDW, 2022. 9781684058754. Contains #15-21 of UY Volume 4.

Usagi seeks his other master, a one-handed tengu named Sojobo. There's a flashback to how Usagi earned the right to be trained by him, and, in the present day, as you might guess from the title, Usagi finds himself in the midst of a war between supernatural creatures. Toward the end of the story he meets someone from his past, from just as he fled the battlefield with Lord Mifune's head. And then Usagi meets Yukichi, who remembers when their paths crossed years ago.

Chapter 17: Beginning of the End

There's a fork in the road that everyone reaches before they die. A right path that offers you everything you've ever wanted, luring you in with sweet scents and the voices of everyone you've ever loved. This road is said to guarantee happiness and peace.

Three types of people approach these paths: the majority, who don't bother looking at the left path, those who see the left path, consider it, but ultimately choose the rightward, happier, easier, way, then those who see both paths, and, for some reason go left.

March 2006 Two hours later.

A knife could cut through the tension in this classroom right now.

Mariko and I sat at the furthest opposite desks, letting the boys fill the space as they pleased. The only one who dared to make a noise was Haibara when he awkwardly cleared his throat, gaining the courage to ask "Did something happy while we were gone?"

I sink further into my seat, arms folded in protest.

"You don't understand being the strongest—having your life sold to Jujutsu. You could leave it all behind and no one would even care!"

Mariko doesn't move, only scoffs largely.

"You know, you and Gojo-san really are perfect for each other. You're both full of shit."

Neither of us bother to answer, though. To admit our faults.

"Okay..."

"Let them be," Nanami says. "They can figure out their petty feuds by themselves—"

"It's not petty!" Mariko and I exclaim at the same time. Our eyes lock momentarily, only for us to force our gazes back towards the front of the room. Then we fall into silence again.

Another five, maybe ten, minutes of this passes, until an assistant supervisor rips the door open, "Uematsu-san, Yaga Sensei is requesting you in room 6."

"What for?"

"Tengen-sama has specially requested you for a mission," she says. "As well as Gojo and Geto-san."

"Of course," Mariko scoffs once more. "Leave all of us weak people behi—"

There's a teacher's desk at the front of the room. One that breaks in half against my fist as I pass by. Mariko—all of them—cannot help but stare in shock at my dramatic gesture. Their expressions are similar to Nanami's from the night of our mission together. I ask myself, "Why have I become so hostile?"

Even the assistant supervisor's hand trembles slightly as she passes the cream folder. "You will be escorting Amanai Riko for her assimilation with Tengen-sama in two days."

"Assimilation?"

"Yaga Sensei called it an," she hesitates, "Erasure."

The folder is filled with an endless amount of documents regarding Amanai Riko. Everything from her upbringing—dead parents and no family left to claim her, her role as the "Star Plasma Vessel" being the only thing keeping her out of an orphanage—to invasive details about her daily routine, along with a long list of organizations that will be interested in her bounty.

There's a picture of her clipped to the top of the stack. Mussy black hair and wide eyes. I frown. "She's only 14."

"Tengen-sama has personally chosen her—"

"A child."

"She is most compatible—"

"She's a child."

The assistant supervisor stutters helplessly. "Sh-she's only a couple years younger than yourself, Uematsu-san."

"And I'm not a child?" I think. "Isn't that why I'm still in school?"

To this, she cannot answer at all.

I shut the folder and put it back in her arms, letting my misplaced anger subside. "Room 6, you said?"

Turning to head down the hallway, the supervisor finds her voice again, "I'm just doing my job."

I look back, noticing her gaze is drawn to the floor. "I know."

"I don't want a child to be sacrificed, even if it is for Tengen-sama."

Stepping closer, I see how small and young she actually is. She couldn't be more than twenty, neat brown hair cleanly tied back into a plait, barely tall enough to reach my shoulders, sharp and beautiful hazel eyes. Imprisoned by this world as much as I am—as we all are. "I know that too."

"We don't have a choice, though. Do we?"

"No, we don't." It nearly makes me laugh. To think the strongest, shackled in chains such as these.

"If you were me," I suggest, "Would you do the same?"

She thinks for a moment. "I suppose I would do whatever I was told. Then again, I've never been the strongest before. Maybe I would do whatever I want."

The sentiment is wild, irrational, going against everything I've ever worked and dedicated my life to, but not impossible.

"What's your name?"

She seems taken aback. "Chihiro. Tanabe Chihiro."

"I like the way you think, Chihiro," I say, half in jest. "If I don't decide to do whatever I want, I might start requesting for you to escort me on missions."

"If?" Her face reddens with a blush. "I don't want to be credited if you go berserk, Uematsu-san."

"Relax," I nudge her arm a little too forcefully. "I don't plan on going berserk yet."

From within classroom 6, I can already hear them discussing. Suguru's gentle voice is explaining a large amount of what Chihiro had shown me in the file. "...All the Jujutsu schools, the barriers that form the foundation of Jujutsu society, the many barrier techniques of the assistant supervisors. They're all being strengthened by Tengen-sama. Without the aid of his power, we could hardly maintain security or clean up after missions. In the worst-case scenario, Tengen-sama could even become a threat to mankind...."

I wait behind the screen door, and listen closely. Everything Suguru says is true; these are worst case scenarios that could occur if we do not carry out this mission. Sacrificing Amanai is a necessary evil.

"That's why, every 500 years, he finds the Star Plasma Vessel—someone who is compatible with him—and assimilates them, overwriting the information of their body. By renewing his body, he resets his cursed technique back to the start and avoids Evolution."

Yes, a necessary evil. One that, in effect, could save so many others. But she's just a kid. Kids dying, is that ever truly necessary?

A second voice silences all these swarming thoughts in my mind. It's gruff, but comforting, warm. Possibly my newfound favorite voice in the world. "I get it. It would be fine if he turned into MetalGreymon, but we can't have him becoming SkullGreyman. So we have him start over from Koromon."

I find myself smiling at the frame of the door.

"What? Yeah, sure, that works."

Finally, I slide the door open and the wood shifts with a loud snap. "Sending in all three of us is a bit much," I say. "All to transport one kid."

"This mission is of the utmost importance," Yaga Sensei grumbles, arms folded tightly above his chest. The vein in his forehead seems to be bulging a little larger this afternoon. "I have doubts that even the three of you combined are up for it."

Satoru pulls a stool from the desktop, and sets it on the ground for me. Another small gesture that resonates with far more meaning than intended.

"The Star Plasma Vessel's location has already been leaked. Right now, there are two major groups after the young girl's life." He spins his laptop around for us. "One is the Curse User Group Q, which seeks to upend jujutsu society with Tengen-sama's rampage. The other is the Star Religious Group, also known as the 'Time Vessel Association,' which worships Tengen-sama as a god." The dire look on Yaga's face truly sets in now. "Tengen-sama will assimilate the Star Plasma Vessel two days from now. You are to protect the girl until then and ensure that she reaches Tengen-Sama. If you fail, the effects will ripple throughout even normal society. Don't forget that."

"Buy me a soda."

Satoru's finger prods into the flesh of my cheek. I slap it away, pulling the coins out for him regardless.

"What happened with Mei-san?" I try to ask casually, digging my hands so deep into my pockets that I fear they might burst through the fabric.

"Nothing." He tosses the coins repeatedly, letting them fall back into his palm. "They were trapped in one of those barriers that alter time—didn't even know they'd been gone for two days."

"It would have been pretty efficient if they sent you in," Suguru adds. "You would have sniffed the barrier out in a few seconds."

"She doesn't care about that part," Satoru laughs, "She's all sour over Mei-san."

"I am not!"

From the look on his face, Suguru knows exactly what kind of answer to expect, but enjoys fanning the flames, "What's wrong with Mei-san?"

"Nothing! Give me my coins back!"

Satoru refuses happily, pushing me away with a single arm.

"You do seem tense, Kaede-chan?" Suguru takes a concerned tone. "Did something happen while we were gone?"

He seems to catch on to a stiffness that I myself had yet to notice. My shoulders finally lower, and I let out an overdue breath. I wonder if it might be good for my peace of mind to talk about my argument with Mariko, the hateful words we exchanged. But I know Satoru won't take well to being called "full of shit." Besides, the context of the conversation is far more alarming, the crude things I wondered about the boy standing just to my left, still playing with the coins I'd given him. "No."

"She said she doesn't like Mei-san because she flirts with me."

I grit my teeth, "I did not say that."

"Really?" Suguru hums. "Well, she did ask you if you would comfort her if she cried."

I do my best to keep my expression neutral, to not frown or accusingly look up at Satoru, who, in reality, owes me nothing.

His smirk is more prominent than ever, though. "Your face is starting to match your hair, Kaede-chan."

"I don't care about Mei-san or whether she flirts with you or not," I defend. "We have bigger things to think about."

"The mission?" Satoru asks. "You said it yourself, the three of us are more than enough."

"And if I don't want to succeed?"

Each of us pause beneath the shade of a tree, staring at one another quietly.

Suguru frowns, "What do you mean?"

"Transport and erase some kid we don't even know," I sigh. "I have my reservations."

"What if the Star Plasma Vessel wants to be assimilated?" Suguru suggests.

"And if she refuses?" I counter.

"Then... the assimilation's off!" Satoru declares suddenly.

Suguru laughs before I can think to respond, "Are you sure about that?"

He's almost offended by our hesitance. "Huh?"

"It might mean fighting Tengen-sama, you know."

"You scared?" Satoru merely scoffs. "It's fine. It'll all work out somehow."

"Fighting off Tengen-sama and anyone else who stands in our way will most likely result in us being kicked out of the school, and shunned away from Jujutsu society," I continue, eyes narrowing at Satoru who I'm not sure has thought through all of the consequences, "Even set for execution if it comes to that."

He shrugs. "Fine with me. You two are all that I need."

My mouth parts in disbelief. I turn to Suguru, expecting to find our voice of reason, some sensible hesitance, but even he smiles, "We give our all, and at the end of it, we follow through with whatever the Star Plasma Vessel decides, agreed?"

To give up the only world I've known on a whim, for the sake of following these two into the utter dark. "Agreed," Satoru and I answer at once. Because a life like that sounded okay to me.

Rockman EXE Movie Review. Part 1

Oh yeah! The people have spoken! The Megaman Battle Network Legacy collection is finally here! So to celebrate it I’m “Reviewing” the Rockman.EXE movie, The program of Light and Darkness.

A few things before starting. First, the “movie” is less than 50 minutes long, so it’s more of a very long episode with better animation than usual. Second, the movie takes place during the Stream saga, a season of the anime that never aired in America because the plot was “too dark” for a kid’s show, like Axess wasn’t violent and dark enough already. It’s even worse for people in Latinoamerica because Axess never aired there either, so enjoying this movie would’ve been impossible for me if I hadn’t watched the episodes online.

For those who haven’t watched the Stream saga, this is what you need to know:

1. The movie takes place somewhere after episode 17 but before episode 31 of Stream, I say episode 17 because Raika, the Hypocrite, now uses Cross fusion, just like everybody else.

2. The plot is based on Battle Network 5, minus the whole teams thing.

3. The whole story of Rockman.EXE Stream is not relevant, except for episode 2 because that is when Forte came back to steal Rockman’s Ultimate program, but after he fails to get it, he was defeated by an extraterrestrial Navi named Slur who throws him into the depths of the Undernet, where the movie begins.

Forte is shown floating in the cyberspace of the Undernet where he is woken up by strange light and a familiar evil laugh.

Those who played BN5 know what that thing is.

We cut to England, which is probably called Kingland, where a giant beam of light suddenly appears and disintegrates everything in it’s path.

Leaving behind a very ugly but also familiar face.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Japan, our heroes are in a Net Battle tournament taking place in a very weird building with roller coasters coming in and out of it.

Seems very dangerous to be honest.

Of course, as Netto plugs in Rockman, we get the theme song Be somewhere, with the karaoke, timing, and Spanish translations provided by yours truly.

Don’t believe me?

Yep, I was the head of this project, sure, I didn’t get paid and other people helped made this possible, but I’m still proud of this. Too bad not many people have access to this.

During the intro song we see Rockman fighting Gridman’s aka Footman’s first appearance in the anime, before becoming some random Navi in Beast. And in case you were wondering, no, Meijin is not Footman’s operator, it is actually this guy.

The guy who just gives hints in BN3 white version.

I think he is Mr. Famous’s aide, but I don’t remember.

Anyway, Netto wins, his friends, with new changes of cloths, congratulate him, and Meiru appears out of nowhere to hug him like she was already his girlfriend or something.

I personally don’t like this art style, it makes Dekao look even uglier and Meiru looks like she has less hair than usual.

Now, a surprise for those who haven’t  seen Stream, Dingo and Tomahawkman are now part of the cast! And Dingo for some reason has blue eyes in this shot.

I honestly don’t know why.

After Dingo wins his battle, we see more of the weird and unsafe building where they are with the indoor rollercoaster and all. Apparently this is Akihara’s 100th theme park.

We get a small appearance from Shuko and Higure-san who are riding the roller coaster, but its more of a segway to the next scene because Higure somehow spots Mariko-sensei while screaming. Like, how? Mariko-sensei was wearing a helmet until Netto and friends arrived. Turns out, she is cosplaying as her favorite Sci-fi character in a convention that also takes place in the weird building.

But she only appears for Netto and friends to mention that she has a lot of hobbies, and to have this very weird cut to the next scene that made me think it was an editing mistake.

Seriously, she didn’t even finish her line.

We immediately jump to a not so traumatizing scene of a group of men getting vaporized by the same light beams we saw in Kingland.

NOT TRAUMATIZING AT ALL! 

Turns out this was in Ameroupe as we join Meijin and Yuichiro watching footage of the damage.

Yuichiro seems to know something and after seeing a satellite image, his suspicions are confirmed.

The Internet service that is NOT all about you.

The light beams left what looks like giant algorithms, this is enough for Yuichiro to say some vague words, first “Spectrum”, and then “The Wily Program is active”.

HELLO? Why did we cut to a Duel Master scene?!

Oh, right, turns out the people who worked on this movie also worked on the Duel Master movie which was still a thing back then. That is why they made a little animation at the beginning of the movie were we see Crossfused Netto and Shobu working together to fight their respective opponents. They also put like 3 second cameos in both movies to let us know that both the Net Battle and the DM tournament are happening in the same weird building. 

For this movie, it’s a clip of Shobu summoning a monster or something, and for the DM movie we get an actual shot of Netto and friends cheering for Shobu in the audience.

It’s not even the same art style, or background! At least Meiru still has her hair intact.

In that movie they actually say Shobu’s name, in this one they just play the clip and then cut to Netto and friends reacting to something. Personally, I never cared for DM, I watched one episode and that’s it, I always saw it as a Yugioh bootleg.

The cameo is interrupted by Yuichiro who calls Netto to tell him that he must get to the Trident Tower ASAP, with no details whatsoever. Netto says bye to his friends and wishes them luck for their upcoming battle

Apparently some time passed after Netto leaves for the tower, because in the very next scene we cut to Yuichiro typing really fast in a computer (still not giving Meijin details as they watch the light beams appearing in Choina), and then asking if Netto is already at the tower.

LOL, he is stuck in traffic.

Although it is nice to see taxi drivers still have jobs in this future. At least the paying method is accurate.

Netto decides to skate all the way to the tower. I like this scene, its been a while since we’ve seen Rockman giving Netto directions from inside the PET and Netto showing off his sweet skating moves.

Will Netto  make it to the tower in time? Will Yuichiro finally tell us what’s going on? And will Meiru’s hair ever grow back? Stay tuned for part 2.

I did NOT think of that, good call lol. I'm like super curious about your naruto timeline because we all know Naruto is like... a mess and a half and like, everyone knows its a mess and a half but no one has the time to fix the naruto timeline and make it all neat n stuff. (plus, the lack of world building on other elements which makes it even harder to build the time line and now my heart hurts 😀😀)

The ShiObi AU literally does not have any timeline and their ages are ambiguous because i'm too lazy to actually fix the mess that is Naruto. So the fact you actually made a timeline??? props to you!!!

Y17: Kakuzu (39) flees after failing to assassinate Hashi(47). He "dies" from the wounds Tobirama (42) gave him, leaving him to steal Taki's Earth Grudge Technique to keep living.

Y18: FIRST WAR. Hashi dies at 48 from mysterious chakra related reasons (EDIT SPOILER) and Tobirama is 2Hokage at 43. Uchiha Police formed. Sakumo is born.

Y21: Sarutobi(16) gets his team(6).

Y25: Kagami(20) has a son (Shunsuke). WAR END.

Y27: Minato, Mikoto(Kagami 22), Kushina born.

Y30: Inoichi etc born.

Y35: Kushina (8) moves to Konoha to become the Jinchuuriki and Mito(65) dies.

Y36: Minato(9) becomes Jiraiya(21)'s apprentice.

Y37: Tobirama dies(62) and Sarutobi(32) is 3Hokage. Uzushio falls (Kushina 10) and Kagami(32) dies (Mikoto 10, Shunsuke 12). Konan, Nagato, Yahiko are born EDIT. SECOND WAR

Y41: Kisame is born.

Y42: Kakashi is born (Sakumo 26) (Minato 15). InoShikaCho gain Akimichi Choka as sensei.

Y43: Anko is born and grows up at the orphanage.

Y44: Shisui is born (Shunsuke 19 and Mikoto 17, Kagami would've been 39). ROOT is created (Danzo 39.) Nagato, Konan, Yahiko (7) meet Jiraiya (29).

Y45: Tsunade(30), Orochimaru(30) and Jiraiya(30) become known as the Sannin. Nawaki(12) dies and Tsunade leaves Konoha. Shisui's grandmother dies (40, Mikoto 18 and Shunsuke 20).

Y46: Kakashi(4) enters academy. WAR END.

Y48: Sakumo(32) dies. Kakashi(6) is promoted to Chuunin and is assigned to Minato(21). Jiraiya (33) officially leaves Konan, Nagato, Yahiko (11).

Y49: THIRD WAR. Mikoto(22) gives birth to Itachi.

Y50: Shisui(6)'s parents(Shunsuke and Kana25) die. Shisui graduates to Genin. 

Y52: October 5th Shisui(8) loses his Genin team (Kazumi-sensei, Mariko-chan, Daiki/chi-kun) and activates his Mangekyou two weeks after turning 8(Oct 19). Inoichi(22) becomes his sensei. Inoichi starts dating Sora shortly afterwards. Yahiko (15) dies, Konan and Nagato lead Akatsuki and overthrow Hanzo. Anko(9) becomes Genin under Orochimaru. EDIT.

Y53: Shisui(9) becomes Chuunin. Itachi(4) is traumatised by war. Inoichi(23) becomes Yamanaka Head and Head of T&I when his father( Inojou ('dictate'+'human' meaning) mind-walks an assassin and is killed during a suicide jutsu. Inoichi(23) and Sora(22) get married. Anko(10) and team fail Chuunin exam.

Y54: Kakashi(12) becomes Jounin. Obito(12) "dies". Minato(26) becomes known as the Yellow Flash and becomes 4Hokage. Rin(12) dies. ROOT is officially disbanded (Danzo 49). Orochimaru(39) becomes a missing-nin. Anko 11 is left with a cursed seal that is managed by the ANBU sealing tattoo artist, OC. WAR END.

Y56: Sasuke is born(Mikoto 28, Fugaku 32). Ino is born(Inoichi 26, Sora 25). Kyuubi is released. Naruto is born and Minato(28) and Kushina(28) die. Sarutobi(51) returns as 3Hokage. Kakashi(14) joins ANBU. Itachi(7) graduates to Genin.

Y57: Itachi(8) becomes a Chuunin.

Y58: Shisui(14) becomes Jounin.

Y60: Shisui(16) joins ANBU alongside Itachi(11). Naruto(4) leaves the Orphanage under the watch of Squad Two(Hound, Jackal, Monkey, Ram.) Shisui gets his first kiss from Anko (17) when saving her from near death on an ANBU rescue.

Y62: Fugaku(38) and the Elders propose a Coup. 

Y63: Itachi(13) becomes ANBU Captain. Shisui(18) enters the Bingo Book as A-Rank Flee-On-Sight Shunshin no Shisui. Itachi is ordered to spy on the Hokage. Shisui is ordered to monitor Itachi. Tenzo(16) joins Squad Two (Kakashi 21, Raidou 23, Genma 23, Shisui 18/19).

Y64: Rookie9 starts at the academy(8). Danzo(58) steals Shisui(19/20)'s eye. Shisui commits suicide. Itachi(15/16) activates his Mangekyou and kills the Uchiha Clan(Mikoto 36, Fugaku 40) with Tobi(22), leaving Sasuke(8...9?) the sole survivor. Kakashi(22/23) leaves ANBU. (Genma23/24, Raidou23/24, Tenzo17/18.). Shisui wakes 2 months in the past and confides in Inoichi, Squad Two and Mikoto. Danzo(58) is beheaded by Mikoto(36) after shisui steals back his grandfather’s eye. ROOT are reunited with family. Tenzo meets Sai and Shin. Shisui becomes official Consultant between T&I and ANBU and liaisons between Uchiha and Hokage. Mikoto becomes a Hime Elder in the Hokage’s advisory council. 

I add characters/events to the timeline as and when i need them. This is only part of the timeline, since any further back uses different reckoning and any further forward is straight up spoilers for the other three arcs/stories in HOPE AU 😂 there are also slight differences in events according to other villages, Kiri and Uzushio especially have minor amendments that I edited out for readability's sake

I wouldn't recommend this manga to my friends. I would reread this manga.

I really see how a younger me liked this story a lot. A depressed, suicidal boy with family issues. A girl with a different mindset that supports. Sana being grateful to her real mother for not having an abortion so she could experience this joyful life is something I can't fathom, but I find it beautiful.

Rei is really still cute. I like Akito's outfits at times. Fashion. Hayama's dad carrying him with one arm is so cute. I like when random facial expressions are emphasized as a mood switch. They're so cute. e.g. when Hayama wants to hide the pic that Sana took of him (when his eyes get that shocked kinda wide). Hayama looks beautiful when he's sad. I like how Hayama is so quick to accept his feelings for Sana and is like I gotta get rid of the rivals. I like Hayama's little snowman he made for Sana. Sana crying on Hayama after the essay is published is beautiful to me. Sana's real mother makes me feel such deep sadness. She just seems so sad inside. But also, it's beautiful how similar she and Mariko look like Sana. I like the use of the toy hammer. Naozumi eating the spicy gum is so cute. I really think Sana is such a smart and mature girl at times. Tsuyoshi is such a good friend. Suzuki sensei is great. Every time Sana and Akito have a dramatic hug, I find beautiful. I like Hayama asking Komori for his contact info.

Lmao at the Mom and Rei sending the dogs with a flag to talk to Sana. Lmao at Hayama saying he'll only sing Moon's Righteous Temple Street at karaoke. The Marochan line dance is cute and funny. Lmao at the hidden talent portion of the half birthday party and Sana points out Hayama's wagging tail. LMaoooo at the elementary and middle school principals being brothers. I went outside yesterday, popped by my nearest manga shop and spent way more money than planned on manga.

So the hunt wasn't as successful as I had wished it to be because I didn't get the newest Nozaki-kun, Noragami and Hokuhokusei ni Kumo to Ike volumes but will just order them online. Still I will probably have enough to read for 2/3 days, also the new volume of the Bakuman anime arrived.

There are quite a lot I'm really excited for this month, but the ones I'm looking forward to the most are definitely Adekan, Jojo and  Rakuen no Bijo to Yajuu. God dammit I've waited so long for Kaori Yukis new manga to be published here!

Also I already read My broken Mariko yesterday and damn it hit me right in the feels...
