Surprisingly Small Sweetheart - Hope Van Dyne/Maureen Robinson
A/N: Day 25 for @domaystic
The sound of an emergency warning had been enough for Hope to risk shrinking herself and moving to position herself out of sight beside Maureen’s ankle, the slow slide of the crate had been surprising but as it sped up she ran at the crate, moving to catch it and slow it down, pushing away the crate when she’s sure the crash is over.
She’s quick to press a button to alert Scott to where they have crashed, moving away to resize herself, stepping from the shadowed area she had tucked herself into before moving to rest a hand on Maureen’s shoulder when John moves closer.
It’s only later, when they are safe, that Hope dares to kiss Maureen softly, feeling the other woman shiver a little. They had been lucky to be found and saved, John finally accepting defeat on realizing that Maureen was never going to choose him over Hope. Now, of course, Hope knew she would never leave Maureen’s side ever again.
Rewatching Lost in Space on Netflix before I cancel my subscription (because of the anti password sharing BS.) Was the show set in 2044? Are John and Maureen Robinson gen Z???
this is late but 7, 21 and 22 for the violent ask meme?
Never too late for ask games, anon!
But since you didn't tell me which fandom, i'm answering with both Lost in Space and Criminal Minds because I write for both.
7. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Spencer fucking Reid and Mother Robinson.
21. Part of canon you think is overhyped.
idk that I consider any part of cannon "overhyped" bothersome or irritating, yeah, but I don't consider cannon overhyped? Like i hate how fans can blow things out of proportion and read into things, but that's not overhyping cannon? (and i'm also 100000% guilty of doing it too)
22. Your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores.
The space squid!? Like, it's in none of my fics either, but WHY IS THE SPACE SQUID SO OVERLOOKED?!
That Jason Gideon is actually the best and was better than Aaron at knowing what team members needed in the early seasons (even if he was sometimes rough and explosive).
Chronic Pain And Sweet Nothings - Penelope Blake/Maureen Robinson
A/N: Alt 16 for @medwhumpmay , Second GIF made for me by @whoreofthecottage
Penelope Blake had known what happened to Maureen Robinson for a while now, she had not known that Maureen was hiding pain until the woman collapsed from the hidden pain. Chronic pain was something a lot of people seemed to think didn’t happen any more, Maureen too embarrassed to admit that they were wrong.
Penelope works quietly to find ways to make the chronic pain easier for Maureen to manage, adapting as much as she could to allow for what Maureen was feeling, knowing that a chronic illness and chronic pain didn’t have to stop her working, she just needed more ways to manage it.
