This crossover collage is a Christmas gift to rapunzelcrossoverqueen, as I love their work, and I'm also thankful for the Tumblr like from them. I hope you like it, rapunzelcrossoverqueen. I know it is two days late, but I you had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year with your friends and family.

A side note for everyone else, I had meant to make this collage before Christmas and post it up on the day, but I ran out of time. I would have liked to have made other Christmas gifts for the other DeviantART users I'm fund of, but before today I hadn't been on my computer since the 10th of November. Real life out in the way with helping my family and then getting ill the week before Christmas. Those who would have also liked to have gotten a Christmas gift collage or meme might have to wait for next year; as long as history doesn't repeat itself like it did this year. My tablet is more of an "staying up to date online" tool than a collage making one.

Week 1: Secondary Research & my Idea.

These are some of the different artists I was looking at during the week.

This is Stuart Blackton, the first person to use pixilation and the creator of the "the enchanted mirror". He would "interact" with the drawing, even "removing" parts of the drawing and making them "reappear" as real objects, and would make the face "react". He would stop the recording, make his changes, and continue as before.

This here is Windsor McCay, american cartoonist who created "Gertie the dinosaur", the earliest cartoon to ever feature a dinosaur. This was also the first film to ever use Keyframes, Registration marks, Tracing paper, Animation loops, and Mutoscope action viewer. He would similarly interact with the animation, "throwing" an apple onto the screen and pocketing it when no one looked while an "apple" would appear on the screen, or he would walk behind the stage and "reappear" on screen and ride Gertie.

Georges meileis "trip to the moon (1902)", the first film to use Double exposure, Stop motion, and Slow motion. He was a illusionist film maker and a magician. The film took 3 months to make and was filmed in a greenhouse like building to get as much light as possible.

"Loving Vincent" directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, the worlds first fully painted film with over 65,000 frames. The they would record the actors dressed as their characters , and would use a projector to project the frames from the video onto the canvases and the animators would paint each frame in Van Gogh's art style.

I briefly looked at Jan Svankmajers "Darkness light Darkness", its a very peculiar piece of media, and it is a 7 minute clay stop motion animation. Its just a body reconstructing itself in a miniature house and figuring out where everything goes.

How does this relate to my project?

Well my idea is to create a mixed media short film based in a haunted art gallery/museum ( some place with a lot of artwork) with a security guard monitoring the building and the strange occurrences within its walls. The main focus will be the different security cameras, which will be changing perspectives a lot, and even the p.o.v of the guard. The centerpiece will be an an animation of a portrait crawling out of the frame, but the first part of the animation will be painted like in "Loving Vincent", but as the creature begins to leave the frame it transforms into stop motion animation with clay. I was thinking that since the creature is made of paint it would make a wet sound when it moves, which is where I want to incorporate foley sound, and leave traces of itself around the building. In the background I want to create other spooky visuals like other paintings distorting or objects from paintings disapearing and showing up in the wrong places like in "The enchanted mirror". I want to experiment with different Camera trick to create different visuals and create suspense like the dutch tilt. I want to slowly unnerve the viewer, using different visual affects and changes in each camera.

There's a lot of work to be done and I'm looking forward to see how I'll incorporate the different workshops into it too

We (two queer POC partners) wrote this together about the kinda love that burns in your soul. The kinda love that makes you face parts of yourself you ultimately wanna runaway from. The kinda love that’s so deep and addictive, where instead of leaving, you choose to runaway together every time.

Our team, Womxyn Amplify, produced the entire release independently. Our producer/engineer Soular (an AfroBlack queer womxn produced it). I shot and edited the cover art. And our other team member, Meilei (Soular’s girlfriend and our videographer/editor extraordinare) created all the promo!!!

Švediškas rabarbarų trupiniuotis

Po kiekvienos žiemos ateina stebuklas su žemės ir vėjo kvapu, pumpurais, žiedais ir žiedukais, iš pradžių mažais ir lipniais, o vėliau dideliais ir sodriai žaliais lapais ir  lapeliais, bėginėjančiomis skruzdėlėmis ir storomis nerangiomis kamanėmis, visokiais krebždesiais, čiulbesiais, ūbavimais, kalbančiais apie pabudusį gyvenimą - turi spėti visa tai gaudyti akimis ir širdimi. Ir gaudai gėrėdamasis, čiupinėdamas, uosdamas ir aikčiodamas.  

Mano žiemos baigiasi, kai iškepu pirmąjį rabarbarų pyragą - būtent nuo šito kepinio pradedu skaičiuoti žalią ir šiltą laiką. Kol neturėjau savų, mama man, aistringai jų fanei, glėbiais tempdavo rabarbarus iš savo sodo. Dabar esu savų rabarbarų ponia ir labai skrupulingai planuoju jų pjūtį ir būsimus to veiksmo rezultatus. Ir, kaip taisyklė, tas veiksmas dažniausiai apsistoja ties pyragu, rabarbarų sirupu ar čatniu. Apie pastarąjį jau rašiau, sirupo šiemet pagaminti nespėjau, o pyragų prikepiau su kaupu. Maniškiai mano meilei rabarbarams neprieštarauja, maža to, ją net palaiko ir skatina. O ypač džiaugiasi tada, kai pranešu, kad prie pyrago duosiu dar ir ledų. Ar nesakiau, kad prie tobulo rabarbarinio labai tinka riebūs ledai? O ir kaip galėtų netikti? Juk gražus prašosi gražaus, protingam reikia protingo, o prie tobulo dera tik toks pat tobulas. 

Beje, sako, šitas receptas - tikras seneliukas, nes jam apie 150 metų. Jei raukote nosį, užduokite sau klausimą: ar džiaugtumėtės, galėdami dabar gurkštelti va tokio senumo vyno? Atsakymo galite garsiai ir nesakyti. Bet jei dėl kažkokių suprantamų ar visiškai neaiškių priežasčių to seno vyno paragauti negalite, tikrai galite išsikepti rabarbarų trupiniuočio, pagaminto pagal seną seną švedišką receptą (o receptuką, atrodo, švedai bus nukosėję iš britų - va koks mažas tas pasaulis).

Rabarbarų įdarui reikės:

- 500 g rabarbarų kotų (sode svarstyklių neturiu, tai priskinu per mažai, t. y., keliais šimtais gramų mažiau, nei nurodyta originaliame recepte. Bet vis tiek būna labai gerai);

- 80 -120 g cukraus (paprastai dedu 100 g ir to užtenka);

- 1 šaukšto sviesto kepimo indui sutepti;

- 1 v. š. krakmolo.

Trupinių sluoksniui reikės:

- 150 g kvietinių miltų;

- 60 g. cukraus;

- 120 g sviesto;

- Žiupsnelio druskos.

Papildomai: plaktos grietinėlės arba ledų patiekimui (grietinėlę galiu gerti kaip pieną - taip man skanu, bet šiuo atveju pasisakau už ledus!).

Gaminimas:

1. Rabarbarus nuplaukite ir nulupkite plonytę, jų kotus dengiančią odelę. Supjaustykite, dėkite cukraus, krakmolo ir sumaišykite.

2. Trupiniams skirtus miltus, cukrų ir druską berkite į dubenį, ant viršaus burokine tarka įtarkuokite sviestą ir viską sutrinkite pirštų galiukais.

3. Orkaitę įkaitinkite iki 200′ C, trumpam į ją įdėkite kepimo indą su šaukštu sviesto ir palaukite, kol jis išsilydys. Sviestu ištepkite indo sieneles ir sudėkite cukruotus rabarbarų gabaliukus. Ant viršaus berkite pagamintus trupinius ir kepkite 25 minutes. 

Patiekite dar karštą. Ir jokias būdais nepamirškite šaldiklyje savo žvaigždės akimirkos laukiančių grietininių ledų - jau minėjau bent du kartus - jie čia ypač tiks. Plaktą grietinėlę pasilikite rytojui - pyragas, jei jo nesušveisite karšto, bus tas pats, bet skonis bus jau kitas.
