Definitely can see that! Everyone likes to be babied a little when they're sick :')

Broken World: Chapter Fourteen
Everyone was working to help clean up the bodies. Any walkers were hit in the head with a pickaxe before being carried to the fire. Andrea still sat beside Amy in front of the RV. It was only a matter of time before Amy turned. Everyone was tired, dirty, and sweaty from the hot sun beating down on us as we worked. Lori was the only one not working as hard as the rest of us. She did try to talk to Andrea; to be gentle with her and explain that we needed to take her so we could bury her. But Andrea just sat there, staring at her dead sister.
Rick walked back to the fire pit where some of us stood. I had my hands on my hips looking at Andrea. "She still hasn't moved?" Rick asked. We shook our heads and he walked over to her. As soon as he went to bend down beside her, she pulled her gun and pointed it at him. "I know how the safety works," she said. Rick stood back up and backed away. "We have to do something," I said. Daryl walked over and stopped beside me. "Y'all can't be serious. Let that girl hamstring us? The dead girl's a time bomb," he said.
"What do you suggest?" Rick asked. "Take the shot. Clean, in the brain from here. Hell, I can hit a turkey between the eyes from this distance," Daryl told him. I nodded in agreement. "He's right. Amy is going to turn eventually. Is Andrea even going to be able to put her down when she does? We need to do it now. Daryl can hit her with an arrow. Quick and clean." Lori sat down on a log and said, "No. For God's sakes, let her be." I raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
"Fine. But when she turns and if Andrea can't put her down and gets bit or anyone else gets hurt, that blood will be on your hands. Which by the way, maybe you should use those hands and get off your ass and start helping around here." With that I walked away. "You left my brother for dead! You had this comin' to you!" Daryl said and went back to work. Everyone looked at him then went back to work. Glenn got upset when they tried to throw someone they didn't realize was from our group on the fire. Then Daryl let Carol use the pickaxe on Ed. Once she got one hit in she went for a few more, crying, and letting her frustrations out.
Eventually Amy did turn and luckily Andrea took care of it, but she continued to sit in the same spot. The only person that had been successful at going up to her was Dale. He had that kind of presence about him. He's the reasoning of the group when we have a decision to make and everyone has their own opinions on what to do. He talks sense into all of us, keeps us calm, and makes us think about what we are talking about. Just like now, while we argue about what to do with Jim. Turns out he was bitten while fighting off the walkers last night.
Daryl wanted to just put him out of his misery, as he put it. Shane and Rick were against that. For Jim's safety Rick led him into the RV where he stayed. We buried our people and continued our fight about the CDC. He was so sure there was someone there; that they were working on some kind of cure. "There is no one there, Rick. The people that were there left and are dead. The military could not protect it after the city was overrun!" I said sternly. "There has to be someone still there. They would do everything possible to protect that place!"
"Oh, my god! Were you not listening to me?! There are hundreds of bodies laying around that building. I have been in that city since before they bombed it. I lived in that city. There is nothing and no one there." Nothing I said convinced him that it was a waste of time. It was all said and done. We would be leaving for the CDC in the morning. I understood Rick wanted to save Jim, but there was no saving him. He was already feverish and coughing up blood. It would kill and he would turn. There was no cure and probably never will be.
Not if there weren't any scientists to make a cure. They probably didn't find out what caused all of this in the first place. It all happened so fast. People started getting sick, hospital emergency departments were flooded with people. Crimes started going up, calls from people saying they had been attacked. It just got worse and worse as the days went by. When the city was bombed they thought it was the best option, that it would kill all the dead. But it didn't…obviously.
That night I was in my tent making sure everything was packed up. I didn't have much so it didn't take too long. Packing light was the beat choice in these kinds of situations. The kind of situation where you always have to run. I also needed to figure out who I was riding with. After I had everything packed up and set by the tent door I laid down on the cot and tried to get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a long damn day. We need to break all the tents down and pack the cars up, and a lot more.
The morning came and we started taking everything down. Andrea was sleeping in the chair though, which I didn't blame her. She sat beside Amy all night and all day until we had to bury her. There was nothing to eat so we just took a break before loading the cars. Once everyone ready, Dale woke up Andrea, loaded the cars, and then Rick and Shane handed out walkies. They explained the so called rules if someone needed to stop or was having trouble.
I still didn't know who I would be riding with. I had my pack on my back and a duffle in one hand. Morales and his family decided they were going to try and find family instead of going to the CDC. That was smart and not so smart at the same time. They would be alone that was the bad part, but they wouldn't have to be disappointed when we got to the CDC and nobody was there. Rick gave them a gun and some ammo, and we said our goodbyes.
"How about you ride with me," Shane said, coming up beside me. Before I could answer my duffle was being taken out of my hand. "Nah, she's riding with me. Let's go." I looked over at Daryl and then back at Shane. "Thanks for the offer," I told him and went over to Daryl's truck. Merle's chopper was in the bed, which Daryl set Mt duffle beside it with other stuff he had back there. It's been a long time since I have rode in this truck with him.

Rick came back after going the Woodbury, he looked at me feeling guilty.
My gaze wandered around hoping to see Andrea, after all, she was the only person close to a family. I looked at Michonne to Daryl, “Where’s Andrea?” They looked at each other, I turned to Rick, “Where. Is. Andrea.” I demanded.
Rick looked down and then looked up to meet my eyes. He shook his head, “I’m sorry y/n…”
I stayed quiet, progressing the words that came out of Rick’s mouth. I step back, my eyes becoming watery, I shake my head not believing Rick. My hands trembled and I began to tear up, “No… please tell me you’re lying.”
I turn and look at Michonne, tears falling, “She can’t… she can’t be gone.” I shake my head from side to side, holding my head and gripping my hair.
Crying and I walk away from them and back to them, I look up, “Not Andrea,” I cried out. I walk towards them but I fall to my knees. Tyreese tries to hold me up but lets me be.
“No, no, no!” I sob and cover my face with my hands. Rick gets closer and places his hand on my shoulder, “I’m sorry-”
“NO!” I yell looking up, my face stained with wet tears. He backs away feeling guilty.
Glenn comes out, hearing my weeps, he sees me on the floor sobbing, quickly becoming concerned. Glenn rushed toward me and embraced me tightly, feeling my trembling body underneath.
“G-Glenn…” I tried to stop crying but it only lasted a few seconds before I broke down, “A-Andrea.” I tried to continue, “Shh…I know, I know, just let it all out.” Glenn kissed my forehead as I sobbed more. He continued to hold my hand to reassure me.
Glenn grabs my chin gently, making me face him and look him in the eyes, “I know I can’t make you stop feeling the pain you feel… but just know that I’m here for you, always. Don’t ever forget that y/n.”

Precious Honor - Daryl Dixon .01
Tumblr media
"What are your people doing to fix this?"
“Shane, we gotta hurry.” I held onto my camouflage jacket. I had just gotten off of deployment before the disease broke out. Shane the one I was just rushing is my younger brother. Well by two years. We’re currently going to see if Rick has woken up yet. He’s been in a coma for a minute now from when he got shot by a criminal that he was chasing. Rick is our childhood best friend. Mainly Shane’s but we had gotten quite close before the coma. He was the only one who sent me letters on deployment.
Updates about him, his wife, and his child Carl. Rarely spoke about Shane most likely because he’s been whoring around town from what Lori told me.
Shaking my head at the thought we got through the endless Hospital halls, nurses and doctors saluting me as I was still partly in uniform. Wearing cargo pants, boots, and a white shirt tucked into the pants. My jacket was still in my arms as we finally were in the room where he was.
Where he lay still, not moving an inch from the last time we saw him. My heart ached at the thought. We sat down to visit only for a few minutes, it was clear we couldn’t get him up. Then the ground shook and gunshots cleared out, I quickly gripped my holster. We both shot up. “Check his pulse.” I point with my head, pulling my gun out and pointing towards the door.
My brother did as I said and I opened the door after the military ran by.
What the fuck are they doing killing innocent?
“Let’s go, [Name].” Shane grips my hand, going to pull me to run but I push back. “We can’t leave without em’!” I say a little bit above a whisper. “His heartbeat, it was going before the machines cut off!” I told him.
“Well, he ain’t got one now, [Name].” He harshly tells me back, now shoving me to get a move on and I drop my jacket. Before I could say anything he barricaded the door and we started running. Tears threatened to escape my eyes but things like this happened almost every day in the Army. This wasn’t like the Army though.
We’re going up against monsters who were once friends, neighbors, family… Leaving loved ones behind because the human race isn’t the same anymore.
We got back to my truck, and my dog Mori sat calmly in the back seat since the air was still going on him. I thrashed my key into the hole and started up the engine. “Let’s go, [Name]. C’mon.” Shane smacked my dash. “Don’t rush me,” I mutter, changing gears and slamming on the gas pedal causing him and Mori to fall back in their seats. Mori makes a noise as if to tell me off as Shane grunts.
I swerved through the people acting all frantic, the town all evacuating or fighting off one of those… things. It’s like their skin immediately rots after being bit. It only takes hours. I’ve seen it. It’s not normal! None of this is!
“[Name]! Watch out!” Shane takes my wheel, steering it around a girl laying on the ground waiting to be run over. Sorry, lady. Gotta get someone else to do that. “Sorry!” I shouted at Shane, making a sharp turn onto Lori’s grass, blocking the door off so we can throw some things into my truck bed.
“Stay, Mori!” I snap at him and he sits up straight as a “he’s listening to my order”. Mori is a Military dog, he sniffed out the bombs or certain things we needed to find. Very well trained too. Obviously, dogs have to be very well trained in the Military.
“Oh thank god, you’re… he didn’t wake up?” Her face paled as I look away. Shane nods his head. I was expecting her to cry but she stood straighter. “We packed up everything.” She points to the suitcases and regular bags. Two had supplies we actually needed like food, water, and medicine. Four of them were clothes and as unfortunate as it is we can’t bring all of the clothes.
“I’m sorry to tell you this Lori but you’re going to have to minimalize your clothes.” I sigh out, heading to the attic I grab the latch from above and bring it down. “What, why?” She questions me. “This isn’t a vacation we’re going to be moved left and right. We might have to run.” I explain to her, going up the steps of the ladder. “Oh..” She whispers.
Shane went to Lori and Rick’s room, most likely to check for guns Rick usually had in a safe. Immediately as I was up in the attic there were three tents. I quickly grabbed all of them, throwing them down as well. If we lose one it’s okay. Or if we lose two, as long as we have one it’s fine.
Shane came out with a small duffle bag and we hurried to my truck which was still running, along with Mori who sat straight up looking menacing. Being a muscle-top Rott Weiler I’d hope he was scary looking to people.
“Mori!” Carl says a little loudly, instantly getting shushed by his mother. They hopped into the vehicle as Shane and I put everything in the truck bed that already had some survivalist-type things in it. There are a few cots in the truck bed already.
“Everything fits nicely, let’s go.” Shane claps his hands, heads to the passenger side and I get right back to driving. Not even buckling up I reverse and then speed to Atlanta Georgia. Lori tries to hide Carl from it all, giving him a comic book that she actually told him not to bring but took just in case.
Of course, it doesn’t help him from glancing up and seeing the horrors we have to pass by.
Getting onto the highway, right away there was traffic. Lined all the way to the buildings. My gut is telling me to leave. Slowly we moved our way down further but then it was just a full stop. We didn’t move for minutes to hours.
After the first thirty minutes, everyone mostly got out and we kind of mingled. Meeting a nice lady to the right of us. She and her daughter we gentle and nice, Carl made friends with the girl. They got to eat some snacks that the lady gave them. Her name is Carol. Her husband who we learned his name is Ed.
Off the bat, this guy is a dickhead. Once he saw I looked like a Military he stopped and stared at me. “What are your people doing to fix this?” He points at me and my eyes squinted slightly. “I don’t have a connection with them anymore.” I crossed my tatted arms, blatantly showing off my muscles as a hint to fuck off.
Unfortunately, that did not work.
“Why’s that?” He laughed.
“None of your fucking business.” I sarcastically laughed in response, he obviously did not like that. “C’mon, Carol. Get in the car. You too Sophia.” He orders them, at first, they hesitated but once he shouted they both flinched. Carol sweetly smiled at us. “Sorry about him, maybe we will be in the same area.” She tilts her head, grabbing Sophia’s hand to help her off my truck bed. The two got into the car and instantly Ed was yelling at the both of them. As much as I wanted to step in I knew it wasn’t my place just yet.
As time passed we ended up meeting others. Sisters named Andrea and Amy, they were already with a man named Dale. Later through the night, there was a girl named Jacqui. She was amazing. It was going pretty smoothly until the Dixon brothers showed up.
The older brother repeatedly flirted with me. Being heavily misogynistic since I was in the Army. Asking questions like; “Yer sure pretty, ‘m sure you was passed around huh? Gangbanged by yer comrades.” Or “Climbin’ up the ranks? You mean blowin’ the ranks?” All with a stupid ass laugh. His brother on the other hand was quiet. He looked like he wanted to shut his brother up but instead didn’t do anything.
I observed him as he did anything. Going from picking at his nails to rolling his eyes at his older brother as he spoke to anybody. Physically trying not to cringe with every word that came out of his mouth. I honestly felt bad for him. Once we get to a safe space I might get him talkin’.
This was when we decided to get out of the traffic and go someplace else. The infected started reaching the traffic, we all knew it was a matter of time before they came to the crowded place. Jacqui ended up leaving her car and getting into my truck bed along with Daryl and Merle since their truck broke down. The blonde sisters got into the RV with Dale. Who we didn’t meet was the Asian kid in Dale’s RV as well.
This is the beginning of our story as a family. Sadly without Rick to be there with us.

you can kiss me. Michonne for Andrea
consent is sexy ! - includes a mix of povs - @thecavclry
NO LONGER ACCEPTING!
Tumblr media
you can kiss me.
Andrea had noticed the shift for a while now. She noticed how at night they slept close together, close enough that sometimes they woke up cuddled up together with one of them pressed against the others back. She hadn't wanted to address it for fear that Michonne would pull away and the distance would be larger than when they had first met. She craved their closeness.
Michonne could feel Andrea's eyes on her, and no matter how much she tried to ignore the growing feelings for the other woman, they persisted. She found she wanted to be wherever she was doing whatever it was she wanted to do. Even something as simple as warming their can of chilli at the fire.
Andrea shifted the cans on top of the grate they used to cook before she sat down beside her, legs touching. She glanced over at her and offered a soft smile. She'd never seen a more beautiful woman than the one sitting beside her. Before she could stop herself, her hand lifted and pushed her hair from her face so she could see her fully. Her fingers gently touched the other woman's cheek.
Michonne's eyes locked on Andrea's then, careful to keep her breathing slow and steady. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest. "You can kiss me," she said softly, leaning into her touch as her body leaned forward to encourage her companion to make the next move.
Andrea's heart skipped a beat as she felt the heat of the other woman's body come closer to hers. She swallowed thickly, knowing that she'd dreamed of this moment but had never thought it would come true. Her lips parted slightly as she leaned in and captured her soft lips with her own. Her fingers moved from her cheek to her neck as she pulled her in even closer. She never wanted this kiss to end.

This scene in S7 E5 is so so important to the bridge between who Rick and Michonne were as people before each other and who Rick and Michonne are as individuals and a unit once they find and learn each other.
At this point in their journey they're at a crossroads. The Saviors have just murdered their friends and have put their community under a constant state of danger and strife. The very life and freedom they walked the extra 100 miles for is at risk.
And yet...
Rick is willing to accept it. He's already lost so much and he can't see a way out that doesn't include more losses that he's not sure he can handle.
But Michonne is willing to fight. While she too has lost so much, she can't see a way forward that includes rolling over.
Rolling over like Mike (who cost her her son).
Or rolling over like Andrea (who cost her the trust and friendship she carefully opened herself up to).
So here, when Rick says that he's going to go find things to appease this force weighing on them, that he's using his time and energy and power to essentially surrender, they're at odds.
For Rick, this comes with self-doubt, self-consciousness, and embarrassment. Maybe he can't keep them safe.
For Michonne, this comes with self-doubt, fear, and hesitation. Maybe she'll lose everything again.
But it's important to note that they're at odds with the method, not at odds with each other.
So. Back to this scene.
Rick says that if you change your mind, you can join us. You can join me. (Please don't leave. Please don't doubt me. That's a pain I can't handle.)
For him, Negan's presence is the manifestation of all his internal doubts. And we've seen what happened before when those internal doubts were presented in human form (Shane x Lori).
Lori turned from him. She doubted him. She lost faith in him. She, for all intents and purposes, left him.
So when he sees Michonne's doubt and hesitations, he thinks it's happening again. That she's turning from him. That she's doubting him. That she's lost faith in him. That she'll leave him. That she's disgusted by his "weakness". That she's at odds with him because we know that he internalizes his decisions as a reflection of himself.
That she can't handle, accept, or love this side of him.
But Michonne isn't even focused on that. She's stuck on her way of doing things. Of not being able to trust anyone and needing to be the only person who can step up. She's trying to not lose Rick and Carl and the others the same way she lost her son. She's reverting to hyper-independence.
So when she shifts his peck on the cheek to kiss him fully, when she holds his face and looks into his eyes, it's her saying "I see you. I understand. And I still need to do this for myself." (I'm not at odds with you. I'm trying to prove myself wrong. I need to see it through.)
His "thank you" is for her wordless affirmation. For her grace. For her love. For her acceptance of what he thinks he needs to do and who he thinks he needs to be in this moment to keep them all safe.
And with this, the bridge between them is strengthened. The Rick who still struggles with the weight of leadership that's been thrust upon him and the Michonne who hasn't fully trusted this new world around her begin to settle. And when each comes back at the end of the day having played out their individual methods and seen the proof they need firsthand, they have a new understanding of what they're facing.
Because this time is different.
Rick didn't have her before and Michonne didn't have him.
But now, they have each other. That's why she says that together they can defeat the Saviors. They need each other. His strength and hers. Different forms of strength made more powerful and amplified by the individual experiences they've had.
Le sigh.
This is one of my favorite scenes of theirs and in my mind lays the foundation for how everything in TOWL played out, from his escape attempts to her being able to break through his trauma. Simple perfection.

Lost On You

[Rick Grimes x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: Drawn to his strength and resilience, you've secretly fancied the widowed sheriff turned leader. But with recent events turning his smiles into forced fake ones, all that's on your mind is to make it known that he's not alone {Takes place in Season 5}.
WC: 2067
Category: Hurt/Comfort, Slight Angst
This is officially my first Walking Dead fanfic, which I'm honestly surprised hasn't happened earlier, but I've recently rewatched season five, and it made me remember just how much I love Rick. So, here we are.
『••✎••』
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the makeshift camp that had become a haven for the group after their escape from Terminus. The tension that had gripped them during their ordeal was slowly easing, and a sense of normalcy was tentatively settling in. Amid the camaraderie and relief, one person's heart was beating just a little faster than the rest – yours.
Ever since the days at the prison, you had found yourself drawn to Rick Grimes. His strength, his resilience, and the way he cared for his people… it resonated with you deeply. You found yourself admiring him from afar, with feelings growing with every shared moment. And now, as you sat by the campfire, watching Rick with Judith nestled safely in his arms, those feelings were impossible to ignore.
He changed, though. It was apparent in his eyes. Andrea had mentioned long ago how he was becoming “colder,” but you never saw it until now. Until you’ve (quite literally) were face-to-face with evil.
After the incident with Gareth and his people, Rick rarely smiled. And when he did, it was faker than Daryl’s chupacabra claim. Even when Judith giggled while tugging on his beard, or when Michonne and Carl had random competitions, he never smiled like he used to. The last time you saw him “happy” by definition was back when Hershel was still around.
Rick was no longer the man who gave you hope. You didn't know if it was the guilt of his past actions, the stress of the group's survival, or a combination of the two, but Rick Grimes had been lost somewhere along the road, and you wanted to find him.
Your gaze drifted down to your lap, where the remnants of a half-eaten dinner lay. You weren't sure what Carol had made tonight, but it was good. She was always an amazing cook.
Carol.
She was the only person who knew how you felt about Rick. It had been hard not to talk about it. You two were close, and it wasn't like you were a master at keeping secrets. Carol was, though. She had a talent for reading people and knew right away when you had developed a crush. She always teased you about it.
You were glad she didn't tell anyone, and you were glad to have her as a friend.
With the fire beginning to die down, and the food finished, the others began drifting back to their respective tents. First Michonne, then Carl, Daryl, Carol, and Tyreese. Sasha lingered for a bit, and eventually, Abraham and Rosita. Eugene and Tara had been gone all day scavenging for supplies, and Glenn and Maggie had disappeared into the woods an hour before. They had just recently returned, hand-in-hand, and were giggling and whispering as they headed for their tent.
As for you? Well, you were just waiting. Waiting and watching Rick. You didn't know why, exactly. Maybe you were hoping he would suddenly break out of this new, serious-all-the-time character he'd been portraying. Or maybe you were trying to figure out how to talk to him, how to tell him how you felt.
That thought sent your heart racing again. You took a deep breath and held it for a few seconds before letting it out slowly.
You couldn't help but feel like the entire world had been waiting for something to change. Waiting for a spark. And when you looked at Rick, you knew. You just knew.
There was something about him. Something special. Something you couldn't explain, but it drew you to him like a moth to a flame. He was the spark you had been waiting for, and the feeling was so strong you could hardly contain yourself.
Rick turned, and you met his eyes. They were a clear blue, a striking contrast to the dark hair that framed his face. His beard was starting to get long, and the curls atop his head were a bit wilder than usual.
Your eyes met his. The smile he gave you was weak, forced. You were tempted to stand up and give him a hug, just to make him feel better. But you didn't.
After a few moments of awkward silence, he stood up, adjusting Judith in his arms as he did so. She stirred, her eyelids fluttering a few times before falling shut once more.
"G'night."
"Night."
And then, he was gone.
You watched as the tent flap closed behind him. He had disappeared so quickly that you barely even had time to register what had happened. You felt like a part of you had just left with him. Your heart was beating a mile a minute. You had been sitting there, watching him, for a long time, and the sudden silence was deafening.
As you headed for your tent, the last of the campers called out to you.
"Night!"
You stopped in your tracks, turning towards the voice. Carl was smiling, waving at you. You raised a hand in response, flashing a brief smile before turning away.
"Night."
You were asleep almost instantly. The day's events had left you exhausted, and it didn't take long for sleep to overtake you. It overtook you to the point that you had slept in until after everyone else had gotten up.
Morning came and you exited the tent, squinting as the sunlight hit your face. The sun was high in the sky, and the others had begun the morning without you. You didn't mind; it wasn't the first time this had happened, and it probably wouldn't be the last.
As you made your way to the main area, you were greeted by several friendly faces.
"Morning, sleepyhead," Glenn teased. "We were starting to wonder if you were ever gonna get up."
You flashed a sheepish grin. "Sorry. I was just exhausted."
You scanned the area for a few minutes, noting that a couple of people were missing. Rick, for example, was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey, Glenn, where's Rick?"
Glenn glanced around the campsite. He scratched the back of his head and shrugged. "Not sure, actually. I haven't seen him this morning. Not since breakfast."
That was strange.
"I'm gonna go look for him," you said,
As you left, Glenn gave you the thumbs up in encouragement before his eyes flashed back to Maggie and Tara. Most likely retelling the events of the previous day.
You soon wandered through the trees, searching for any sign of Rick – or anyone for that matter. Both Daryl and Carol were also missing, but you weren’t concerned about those two. It was more concerning for those who stumbled upon them. Now Rick, on the other hand, he was different.
As of right now he wasn’t the man to mess with. Seeing how he handled those at Terminus, and hearing what had happened the night before from Michonne… you weren’t concerned about the possibility of him getting attacked or injured. Your concern fell towards his mentality.
He was “technically” the leader that everyone had listened and looked up to. Abraham made arguments, mostly of the importance of taking Eugene to DC, but Rick was the one who had the final say. That kind of power and responsibility to lead an entire group to their survival has heavy effects. And now, after so much loss and failure, it finally took its toll.
The sun shined brightly through the trees as you walked, and the air was warm. It was the kind of day you would have spent reading on your back porch, or maybe going for a hike. Before the world ended, anyway.
As you started walking, you couldn't help but notice the quiet. There was no sign of life anywhere. No birds, no insects, no Walkers. It was almost like the entire world had disappeared, leaving you all alone.
The forest became more thick and dense the further you walked into it, with the trees growing more close together. The sun still shined through the branches, but it was still early, and the shadows were deep.
You started your trail back towards the temporary camp when you noticed a noise coming from behind you. You spun around, heart pounding. It sounded like footsteps.
"Rick?"
There was no answer. Just the sound of the wind whistling through the trees.
"Rick?" You tried again.
Nothing.
The silence was unnerving. The sound of footsteps had stopped, and there was still no sign of life anywhere.
Then, suddenly, you heard a branch snap and everything that was peaceful turned into a war zone. You spun around fast with fists clenched. You didn’t even process what it was before you struck it in the face.
Your face fell once you opened your eyes to peek at the danger.
Ah, shit.
Rick straightened out, his hand running over his nose where you had accidentally struck. He seemed a little dazed, but otherwise was fine.
"Oh, god, I am so sorry," you said, wincing. "I didn't know it was you. I thought you were a… I don’t— oh, geez.”
Rick blinked a few times, regaining his composure. His hand fell from his nose, and he gave you a slight smile. Fake, again, but this time you didn’t blame him.
“What are you doin’ out here?” Rick’s voice was low, and he sounded tired. He didn’t look directly at you, instead choosing to gaze past you at the forest behind. It was almost as if he didn’t care to hear your answer.
And it was clear he wasn’t bothered by the fact that you had just punched him in the face.
You found yourself sighing at his words. It was a difficult question. One that had multiple answers.
What were you doing out here?
What was he doing out here?
Why were either of you out here instead of being with the group or resting up after the chaos of yesterday?
The questions buzzed in your head, but the answer was clear.
You were out here because of Rick. You were out here to find him. To talk to him.
You opened your mouth to respond, but nothing came out. The two of you stood in silence for what seemed like an eternity, and the awkwardness was palpable.
"You should be with the others.”
The words hung heavy in the air. They were simple enough, but the weight behind them was crushing.
"You should be with them, too," you countered.
Rick's gaze shifted to you, and you met his eyes.
The sun's rays broke through the treetops, illuminating his face. He looked tired. So tired. Rick had always had dark circles under his eyes, but the ones you were seeing now were new. They were a deeper shade than you'd ever seen, and they seemed to have grown bigger.
He was worn down, exhausted, and there was a hollowness to his stare. A dullness that had replaced the fire. And yet, despite all of that, there was still a warmth there. A sense of caring, of love, that was still present.
It was that warmth that gave you the courage to continue.
"I'm worried about you," you blurted.
His expression shifted slightly, his brows furrowing.
"You're worrying about me?"
You nodded, your eyes still fixed on his.
"Yeah. Yeah, I am."
He shook his head.
"You don't need to worry about me."
"Yes, I do. Because I care about you."
Rick stared at you for a moment. He seemed stunned, and the look on his face made your heart ache.
He let out a small sigh.
"You don't have to," he said, his voice quiet. "I'll be fine."
"You don't have to be the hero all the time, you know," you said. "You can let the rest of us help carry the load."
His eyes searched yours.
"You can't save everyone," you continued. "Sometimes you just have to accept that there are some things that are out of your control."
Rick became silent. You could see the pain and conflict swirling in his eyes. He wanted to accept your words, but the guilt was still eating away at him.
He closed his eyes, and the tension in his body seemed to ease a bit.
"I'm just… tired," he said. "I'm tired of seeing people die. Of losing people."
You placed a hand on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"I know," you said. "I'm tired, too."

The sun was beginning to set by the time Rick returned to the courtyard, and you were surprised to see Daryl with him and a man that looked like his brother. There was a heavy tension in the air, and you felt like someone would get killed if anyone said the wrong thing. But Rick paved the way and told Merle, you learned to dig a grave for Axel.
With the tension level down, you followed the group into the prison, where arguments broke out over what to do with Merle. You knew you didn’t have any opinions on the matter because you didn’t know the history behind their obviously strained relationship. So you went up to your cell to drown out the arguments with Tora, who was sleeping peacefully as if nothing had happened.
You kicked off your shoes and climbed into bed, pulling her against your body. You were exhausted, starving, and all you could think about was a hot shower. You missed hot showers most of all and scented soaps. You missed feeling clean.
Sleep found you well and quick, and soon you woke to sunlight streaming into your cell. Your stomach growled with a painful demand, and you realized you hadn’t eaten last night. Not that you would’ve been able to anyway, after all, that gunfire. You weren’t a stranger to death, but it didn’t make anything easier.
Both Carol and Daryl were sitting in the main room of the cell block, and Tora was perched on the table getting affection from the woman.
“Where is everyone?” You asked. The silence was one of the first things you noticed besides the sound of Merle snoring in the front cell.
Carol gave you a smile while scratching the cat behind her ears. “Rick took Carl and Michonne to start clearing some of the bodies outside, and Beth is walking with Hershel. Glenn and Maggie are on guard. Breakfast is on the counter.”
You nodded and said nothing, grabbing some of the food Carol must’ve made earlier and a water bottle. You felt bad about sleeping in later than everyone else, but your body must’ve needed it after the night you had.
As you sat down, Judith started crying, and Carol jumped up to tend to the baby.
You gave Tora affection as you ate and watched Daryl clean the crossbow and sharpen his knives. “I’m glad you’re back,” you told him. Daryl gruffed and didn’t say anything, causing you to laugh. “I understood why you left. I would’ve done the same thing.”
“Leaving was the wrong thing, just took me a day to figure that out,” Daryl said.
You didn’t say anything else as you ate, eventually reaching over to take the block on which he was sharpening his knives to do your own. In the cell across from you two, Merle stopped snoring and grumbled awake.
“Little brother, you get me some food, okay?”
You raised an eyebrow at the man and looked at him briefly before returning to your knife.
“Oh, lookie here, I didn’t get a chance to make nice with you yesterday, missy. Why don’t you get ol’ Merle here something to eat, huh?”
You snorted and set the knife sharpener down, “I don’t think so,”
“Prettier than a peach with a mouth on her, I see,” Merle said and looked at Daryl, “This why you came back here?”
“Man, shut up!” Daryl yelled as he walked over to the counter. “Can’ you tell nobody ‘round here gives a shit ‘bout ya? Stop tryin’ make things worse,”
You decided not to stick around for their sibling argument and instead went to go find Rick and see if he needed any help.
***
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more eventful, a woman named Andrea showed up. She was met with unexpected hostility, but eventually, the group relaxed around her. You kept your distance from her but were polite. There was a lot of tension with her around, and you didn’t really feel like being involved in any of it. So instead, you helped Daryl clean more weapons and stayed quiet while the group and her caught up.
Eventually, she left, and things again settled into a new rhythm. Rick set out with Carl and Michonne the following day to get more guns, and everyone else was left to continue working on the prison. By sunset, you were physically exhausted and mentally awake. Everyone was a bit on edge because they weren’t back yet.
You were finishing up helping Carol with the after-dinner dishes when she handed you a bowl of the water-based stew you’d helped her make. “Can you bring this out to Daryl? He’s on guard duty.”
You took the bowl from her and grabbed one of the water bottles, “Okay,”
The night air was unsurprisingly warm as you crossed the courtyard. The stars were just starting to come out, and it was that perfect summer dusk setting. If the world was normal, you would’ve loved it. But now, seeing the space between the stars… it just reminded you how small the world seemed now.
Daryl seemed surprised when you popped open the floor hatch and climbed up. “I got some food for you. Had to keep Merle from eating it all tonight.” The hatch dropped behind you, and you sat a few feet away from him after handing him his dinner.
He nodded and started to eat. You leaned back against the wall and pulled your legs up, wrapping your arms around them. The soft nighttime breeze barely touched your face from where you sat.
“You don’ gotta sit up here with me,” Daryl said, looking you over.
You shrugged your shoulders but stayed quiet. It was peaceful up here. You felt safe being so high up, and you enjoyed the quietness. Judith wasn’t trying, and no one was trying to talk to you. It was nice. It reminded you of the treehouse, which ached in a way that almost made you wish you could turn back time. But you felt safer here, with other people and your family, despite the disasters of the governor and his attacks.
It was mostly quiet for a long time. Grasshoppers sang their song, owls hooted and an occasional frog crocked, More stars came out as the sunlight fully disappeared. The breeze got a little cooler and it reminded you again of the treehouse.
Daryl looked at you occasionally, but you didn’t mind it. You hoped he didn’t mind the company and hadn’t been put on the guard rotation yet, so you didn’t spend much time up here. You hoped that would change soon.
You felt him look at you again, and this time you glanced at him, your eyes meeting his in the moonlight. “What?”
“You regret coming here?”
“No,” You shook your head, “I’m glad I did. Even if we’re about to fight some crazy guy. You regret bringing me?”
“Nah, Carl likes the cat. And your good with the baby,”
Your heart ached, and you looked down, playing with a hangnail that developed because of all the labor. “I was pregnant once,” You weren’t sure why you said that. But once you did, you didn’t wanna stop. “Liam and I, we got pregnant right after we got engaged. I was in a car accident when I was about five months, and we lost the baby. That was a month before the world went to shit.”
Daryl was quiet.
You laughed softly, “I used to believe in God; I went to Sunday church with Uncle Hershel and the girls. Now I’m not… I’m not so sure about how I feel. Not sure why a God would do this. But when it did, I remember thinking to myself that God took my baby away to keep it from this world. I know that sounds silly.”
“It don’,” Daryl said quickly. “Plenty of people believe weirder shit. Makes you feel better. It all that matters.”
You smiled at him before looking away and back up at the stars. “Whatever reason it was, be it God, fate, or just the damn drunk driver, I’m thankful for it. I understand women making the choices they do now when it comes to that. I respect Lori for keeping the baby, but… I don’t know,” You rambled on.
“I get it. Not like any of us had a choice. But the ass-kicker is here, and we gotta do right by her. Right by Lori,”
You nodded and leaned your head back, closing your eyes. “She’s a cutie,”
Daryl snorted and spit over the ledge, “Where’s the cat?”
“Carl’s got her. I taught him a few tricks she knows, and he’s going crazy,” You said quietly. “It’s nice out tonight. It would be a nice night for a bonfire if things were normal. Do you count us cooking dinner over a fire as a bonfire, or do you think a bonfire is special? Meant for roasting smores and singing silly songs while being eaten alive by damn mosquitoes.”
It was silent for a minute before he answered, “Probably somethin’ special. I wouldn’ call heating a can a soup a bonfire,”
You opened your eyes and looked at him, “Yeah, I think so too. Maybe once things get settled, we should do one for Carl. I bet he’d like that. Beth too. We can make a run to find marshmallows somewhere. I know how to make ‘em homemade, too, in case we can’t find any.” You laughed.
Daryl shook his head at you and was about to reply when headlights appeared. He used the scope of his gun to look. “They’re back. Let’s get the gate.”

Umm...
So...♾️♾️♾️
I just realised that the last episode of The Ones Who Live will air on RESURRECTION Sunday 🧐😵✝️
That is not a coincidence!
They could have picked any day to release the last episode, but chose that day!
The end (episode 6) of Rick's story beginning again (TOWL season 1 ) is on the same day that Christ's resurrection is being remembered...
The beginning is the end ♾️
When Rick is revealed at the beginning of the season, he is called Christ...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Christ, is that him? Michonne nods yes...
Is it a play on words? Yes.
But it's also an eclipsed/hidden but very deliberate way to mark Rick as Christ.
The last episode will air on Resurrection Sunday. Fulfilling the beginning and end.
Beth and Rick's stories are intertwined often reversed, so this is intriguing to me!
I'm truly starting to think that this is the year we get Beth. Too many things are lining up including the fact that Beth (in real time) has been gone 10 years, while Rick (in show time) has been missing 10 years.
10.10 get well soon.
Do I think we will see Beth or a clue to Beth in episode 6 of TOWL?
Maybe...it's actually very possible due to resurrection Sunday.
Maybe we get a hidden coda, like Morgan, but this time the mask stays on.
Who knows... I'm excited to see, but what I'm more interested in is this beginning end pattern because what comes next (after TOWL ends) in TWD universe will be another resurrection.
Enter The Book of Carol.
Tumblr media
I pine for Summer ☀️
The last episode (episode 6) of TOWL, airing on RESURRECTION SUNDAY, is called The Last Time...
Emily released a song called Last Chance not long after she finished on (ended) TWD.
Many who heard the song Last Chance thought it sounded like Emily was writing it about Daryl and Beth, and she was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emily's very first album (first = beginning) was released just after she left (ended) The Walking Dead, and Last Chance (which really indicates both Beginning and end) was a single on it. So, could the episode "The Last Time" be the signal for Beth's return or beginning?
It's all starting to line up.
The album, the song "Last Chance," is off, is called This Is War.
Tumblr media
In the comics, Andrea wakes from a gun shot to the head during the war with the Governor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The bullet just gazes her but knocks her unconscious. I am convinced Emily was referencing this war in the title of her album.
No doubt, the end of season 1 of Rick and Michonne's story will also lead to a declaration of This Is War with the CRM. I guess we will wait and see for that one, but we know war is building.
Now Rick wasn't the only one marked as Christ, in fact he was the second or "last" one marked as Christ in TOWL Gone.
The first one to be marked as Christ is...
Tumblr media
The sister that was left behind aka a representation of Beth.
Beth was marked as Christ here first (at the beginning of Gone) in the timeline, while Rick was marked as Christ last (near the end of Gone).
We see Rick on-screen before he gets marked as Christ, but Beth gets marked as Christ before we see her.
The time to finally see her again has to be close. Very close.
I also want to add one other extremely unusual thing I discovered, and it's in relation to the X eclipse that is coming up a week and one day after resurrection Sunday on April 8th.
For those who don't know, there will be a solar eclipse on April 8th in the US, and it's been nicknamed the X eclipse, because the path that the eclipse will take, makes an X in conjunction with the path of the last solar eclipse of 2017.
Tumblr media
How is this related to Beth and Daryl?
Well, remember the episode "Find Me" with Leah?
And the solar eclipse they look at together, while Leah all but repeats Beth's line of "Don't you think that's beautiful?"
Tumblr media
The eclipse in "Find Me" is the twin eclipse related to the upcoming eclipse the week after resurrection Sunday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leah was a shadow of Beth, I would now even be bold enough to say she was a blocked or eclipsed version of Beth.
Eclipse means an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination.
In other words, the light or reality is hidden from view.
Well... I spent some time figuring out the timeline of this moment where we see the solar eclipse with Leah and Daryl.
And I'm not kidding you. They are looking at a solar eclipse in 2017.
Most commentators on TWD timeline place Rick's disappearance and being taken by the CRM at the 2013 mark.
The episode "Find Me" actually gives us a good calendar to work by in finding out how much time passes from when Rick goes missing up until this eclipse that Daryl and Leah look at.
First, we see Carol say to Daryl...
Tumblr media
It's been 2 years of Daryl looking for Rick.
OK, so Rick went missing at the 2013 mark, and now it's 2015 (two years later)
We then see additional time jumps marked, adding up to 2.5 years...
Tumblr media
Placing us in 2017!
Leah and Daryl's story was a shadow of finding Beth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've talked a bit about how 10's and X's are symbols of Beth's return, so this is an interesting, albeit odd addition to the X symbolism.
10.10 get well soon flipped ♾️ is 01.01 which represents the beginning and end.
Jesus said
‭‭Revelation 22.13
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
He also said
Revelation 22.12
Look, I am coming SOON!
X is 10 in Roman numerals, obviously, and we are also coming up to the ten year mark from when Beth "dies."
The current walking dead timeline for Daryl Dixon season 1 places us somewhere in 2023, so a question I have is...will we, at some stage in the future, see Daryl and Beth looking at the X eclipse of 2024 in a fulfillment of the 2017 eclipse...
Emily also wore this hat and posted a caption with it, "Don't F with me today Zombies".
Tumblr media
She posted this back when filming was taking place for season 5, but we never saw the footage reported on from that time.
The crown on the hat is made up of X's that make diamonds, and it combined makes the upside-down pyramids, all of which are related to Beth and Sirius returning.
Make of that what you will.
I'm working on a future post to lay out how both Consumed and Find me are road maps to her return.
Both those episodes focused heavily on Daryl and Carol off together.
She is coming soon... Beth means house of, and she's marked as Christ.
House of Christ.
