the fact that will saw el (under normal circumstances) for the first time at the snowball dancing with mike makes me unhinged

the jealousy, the angst. each one replacing the other.

it's slowburn siblinghood.

el knowing about will and saving him being her mission, her purpose for a while. her visit to him in the UD and her visit to him while he's unconscious in bed. el feeling protective and caring about this boy who is just a concept, just a face in a photo and a voice in the radiowaves and the love and tears on people's faces.

and will being visited by this figure when he's almost dead already in the UD, who brings comfort and mentions his mom, but he doesn't know who this is. he's shivering and shaking and terrified. and then hearing about el for a year after he comes back. hearing but never seeing. he's back finally but everyone is mourning someone he never met bc he was too busy fighting for his life. that feeling of 'shouldn't you have been trying to find me and save me? how did you find time to care so much about someone new while i was gone?' and of course they were looking for him and of course el was essential and the only way he could've been saved, but right when he's back, there's already a missing hole in will that he's feeling from the trauma but everyone else has their own missing hole from el being gone.

and will finally sees her at the ball, when he didn't want to dance with this girl, he wanted to hang out with mike. but now he's dancing with this girl, and mike is dancing with her.

and for months it's a little bit of jealousy from will, which all comes out in his rain fight, calling her just a stupid girl when he wanted a day free of girls, but she's still there in the back of mike's head, just like it seemed when will came back from the UD, and meanwhile it's hard to say what, if anything, el is thinking or feeling about will.

but then suddenly they're siblings. brother and sister. and el is mourning her dad. and will is feeling freer to be himself but at the same time missing mike and his friends so much. but suddenly they have each other. they have to have each other because they're siblings. and el needs more help than she's ever needed before and will steps up. he saves her in little ways every day, just by giving her a smile or a nod or walking with her in the hallways. and he now beats himself up that he can't bring himself to help her more, this girl he'd called stupid last summer. he doesn't know how to stand up to bullies but he does everything he can to help his sister in ways that he can.

and el is struggling so much that it's hard to see how much will is helping until he's gone. but she's been relying on someone seeing her truth while she lies to mike for months. will knows she's struggling but he's still there for her everyday. and when they come find her at nina, she gets to hug her brother and he asks if she's okay and he is concerned about that fucking thing around her neck, and she smiles at him as big as can be.

it's just...... slowburn siblings. the feeling of being replaced, the protectiveness over one another, saving each other's lives, the jealousy, liking the same boy, keeping secrets, loving each other even when it's hard. it's being siblings. they just didn't know it for a long time and neither did we.

Well hi there... (this is going to be a big one, sorry)

See, I'll never understand this argument that it's going to be rushed and that the last season doesn't have time to build Byler or whatever. You've never seen films or series with a single season in which a couple meets, falls in love and ends up together?

I can give you the example of Eyewitness. Several people in the fandom like to talk about this series and I have to thank the bylers for presenting it to me.

The show has 9 episodes, at the beginning we meet Lukas and Phillip. Lucas suffers from internalized homophobia. This series managed to introduce us to the characters, make us understand them, make us understand the reason for each one's actions with just 9 episodes and still in the middle of a murder plot, with several horrible things happening and other characters developing.

And the series is simply wonderful. I highly recommend it, so that people can learn about internalized homophobia (which we theorize Mike has) and how far it can go. Maybe you even recognize some parallels with Byler. Remembering that eyewitness was on the inspiration board for one of the seasons, i think it was season 4.

"They have been building up mlvn for 4 seasons", well... they also did that with byler. The advantage of Stranger Things over eyewitness is that we already know the characters, we already know the dynamics between them, we know the problems in each relationship, there will be no need to waste time on that. The building up for byler its at its peak by the end of season 4!

The season ended with:

Mike and El not talking to each other after the monologue that was supposed to save the relationship

The truth about Will's painting yet to be revealed

Will confirmed to be in love with Mike

Mike is still oblivious to Will's feelings

Eleven didn't say anything about the monologue and what she thought of it all

Will is already sure that Mike doesn't like him and he tried to help Mike and El's relationship, which didn't work.

Mike doesn't know that Eleven doesn't actually feel what Will said she feels and that those were his words

As I said, we already know these characters. We know Will lied, we know El doesn't feel that way. We know that Mike feels inferior in the relationship because El doesn't seem to like anything he likes and ignores his interests, which is why he thinks he's just a random nerd. Mike only knows how to praise El by associating her with her powers, something El doesn't feel comfortable with. We know about the ambiguous relationship between Mike and Will and that Mike seems to separate Will from all the other members of the party, including El. We know that Will is in love with Mike. Everything is waiting for it's conclusion.

Also, we still have some questions hanging in the air like: Why write Will in love with Mike if he already has a girlfriend? Why not give him a boyfriend in Lenora, which seems to be a freer place with mlm and wlw couples going on public dates in the middle of Rink o Mania? Why not have Mike reject Will in season 3 so Will can move on, like they did with Dustin and Max? Why the painting and the meaning behind it? Why constantly separate Mike and El throughout the seasons while strengthening Mike and Will's bond? Why, instead of having Mike the whole season saying that he needs to find El and telling her that he loves her and that she's amazing, they decided to have Mike complaining about his relationship and how bad he feels about it? Why did this love triangle reach season 5 still without a clear solution?

They just need to pick up the pieces. If you think they can't do that in a single season, remember that St*ncy ended the first season together but we clearly knew something was wrong and in the second season they perfectly managed to end St*ncy's relationship and start J*ncy's even with Jonathan dealing with everything that was happening with his brother and everything else.

And hey... give the GA some credit. I clocked byler without even knowing it was a thing and I had never been in a fandom before. They are not stupid. They just don't engage with fandom disclosure but that doesn't mean they are oblivious to everything that it's happening. They just don't care or have heterormativity blinding them.

Now could the writers just ignore everything they had been building up and send it to trash? Damn right they could. However, we will have to wait and see...

SDE: So, how did you get on with the sessions with Paul, what was the working practice because obviously you wrote a lot of songs together, did you come in with lyrics and ideas? MM: He said, “right, now, the Eastmans have said to do an album [after they listened to the single Leave It and liked it], have you got enough stuff for an album?” I said, I’ve been writing for years, quietly in the background with my own ideas. With the Woman album that got me going and I kept going, so I’ve got lots of ideas for songs, but I was going to work and do another Woman album at some stage, you know, when I could afford it. So I had lots of ideas that I was going to do in the future, but I just couldn’t afford to do them. So I said, yes, I’ve got loads of stuff, it’s not finished. He said, “well, that’s great because we’ll work on it together. So, I’ve got Denny and you’ve got your drummer and we’ve got another guitarist which I’m thinking of, so what we’ll do is go into … down here in London, Abbey Road, is too expensive, and so that place you recorded the Woman thing, Strawberry [Studios, in Stockport], sounds great. So we’ll just go to there from our houses” – which were only three quarters of an hour away in Heswall on the Wirral – “and we’ll see what comes out”. So, that’s what we did, I had all these ideas, I said, right, here’s the lyrics for this one, and here’s the song for this… and we just worked on them together, with Denny. So, these things started to magically come together, with Gerry Conway and then Jimmy [McCulloch]. It was a labour of love, it wasn’t like a nine-to-five. With our kid, his business was always with love, with his chums, and then going into Wings. You don’t do things for sessions, you do it for the love and the communicate and spread the love. So, to work in an environments like that is so much freer and far more productive. I listened to this after 40 years, this McGear album, and I suddenly realised how important it is in terms of music – how relaxed, how together, how professional, how joyous, how unique it was. SDE: Did you get on well with Denny Laine and Jimmy McCulloch, were they a nice group? MM: We were all as one. I was like a member; I was a member of Wings for a bit! Because, you were all there for the same reasons, you were all there for the love of music, and so that is a very strong powerful concoction, and that’s what produces these songs that have longevity. They transcend all of the other stuff I did, all The Scaffold stuff, if you listen to it, the majority of it – unless it’s things like ‘Liverpool Lou’ which was Wings [anyway] – but all the Scaffold stuff is all manufactured, all session people, and so there’s very little … I mean, one good one, again was [1971 single] ‘Do the Albert’, we did that with Mooney [Keith Moon] on drums. We did that in EMI [Abbey Road] in studio one, where we did ‘Lily the Pink’. Mooney was there early morning, and I remember him lining up his stuff, his drums, his side drums, his bottle of brandy [laughs] this was in the morning… absolute magic.

Do you think there is a particular reason so many people in the fandom really really want Mike to be gay and not anything else?

Will's story, if it has a happy ending, will be such a beautiful coming of age story for a young gay boy in the 80s, from bullied and unimportant to being much freer and also probably one of the key characters to defending the big bad. And since Will is such a popular character you'd assume a lot of people relate to him and get good gay representation from him (and ofc Robin is also gay).

So why can't Mike be for the bisexuals, to see themselves in someone who likes the opposite sex and then realizes he also likes the same sex? I don't want to believe that so many people who are vehemently against that being his potential story are biphobic, but I'm not sure.

If you're tired of the topic or it's too controversial, just ignore my ask, no worries.

The problem is that I don't have an answer for you because I don't know why, maybe those people that are really vehemently against it are just more vocal and so it seems that way but in reality many people don't mind the possibility of Mike being bi... or at least that's what I hope

It would really suck if after S5 people start complaining just because they didn't get the exact story they wanted even if Mike is queer or bi... I would be really disappointed in people here if that happened

I hope the majority is open to different possibilities as long as byler has their happy ending together

The NTSB lists Triethylborane [TEB] as the most dangerous material, one step below fissionable nuclear material,’ Former SR-71 Blackbird pilot David Peters.

Taken by Stuart Freer at RAF Mildenhall in 1986, the impressive photo in this post features an SR-71 Blackbird Mach 3 spy plane creating spectacular fireballs while performing at the Air Fete Air Show.

Former Blackbird RSO, Lt. Col. Doug Soifer, recalls in Richard H. Graham’s book SR-71 Revealed The Inside Story.

‘During that pass, we [Soifer and Mike Smith, the pilot] had “13 fireballs” come out of the plane’s exhaust. It looked beautiful, and people wanted to know if it could be done again. They used the picture of us with the flames coming out for the next year’s Air Fete poster. Mike and I became known as the “Fireball Twins.” The maintenance people figured it was the TEB [triethylborane] shooting out of its container and igniting the JP-7. With that start, we had an exciting six weeks in England.’

The SR-71 burned JP-7 fuel. A one-of-a-kind fuel that used an additive to raise its flash point so the fuel would not break down at extreme temperatures

The high flashpoint brings up another problem. Most jet engines use igniter plugs, nothing more than a hot spark plug. Using these igniter plugs they used with the JP-7 and drowns it out, it won’t ignite. Kelly [Johnson] put his engineers to work, and he said, ‘OK, gentlemen, how are we going to start this?’ They came up with a very unique way. Triethylborane – TEB for short. Each engine has a one-and-a-quarter pint. If I had it in a squirt gun and squirted it into the atmosphere, it would go Kaboom! – it explodes with contact with the atmosphere. And that’s how we started the engines. As the engines rotate, at the right time, it spray this amount of TEB into the turbine section, which goes kaboom, which in turn lights the engine. When you take the throttles up into the afterburner, it puts this metered amount of TEB in that lights up the JP-7. You get 16 shots for each engine.’ As far as I know, no pilot ran out of TEB on a flight, but during a long flight (12 hours ), they came close; if anyone knows of a story of when they ran out of TEB, please let me know.

Also, there was a way that my experts told me to ignite the fuel by using something other than TEB in the SR 71. Can anyone fill me in on what that was?

Part 1 of 8: "something to take care of"

Ever since Vanessa first showed up and told mike about the animatronics. Mike had been thinking a bit before going to sleep, on the job, sometimes he'd go up to the animatronics. Why did she find them so facinating? Her eyes had been glowing with some pure, long lost, joy. He rightened his badge- that she gave him. How did she know where it was?

Over the next few nights she always visited. She always had her police uniform on. Mike couldn't help but feel like he was in trouble. But no, she just came in and asked how he was. Night after night, they talked about work. And cupcakes. And badges, and alot of other things. This police officer must have a good amount of time on her hands.

"I must say though, don't you have a life outside of the job? I thought police was a bit freer when it comes to day and night shifts. Don't your people that start to miss you" Mike chuckles a bit as he thinks about Abbie starting to miss him as he spends so many nights at Freddy's.

Vanessa rightens her position "well, I live alone so no worries, and most things happen at night. My round is mostly peaceful, especially in day time" she smiles.

"Oh, completely alone?" Mike lifts his eyebrow. "Yes, but hey I'd much rather be living alone than with-" her com goes off, mumbling something about a shooting. Just like that, Vanessa jumps up, grabs her jacket, and looks back, at mike, from the doorway. Mike looks up at her with his arms out 'leaving already?'

Vanessa looks at him for a bit, is that a hint of worry in his eyes? No, no.

"I'll have to take care of this"

"Alright i get it"

"I mean finally something to take care of right!"

"Heh yeah, good luck" he gives her an encouraging smile as she leaves.
