A call for Terramation and Modern Disposing of the Dead
On Monday Caroline Lucas, the Brighton Pavilion MP asked a written question directed to the Ministry of Justice that was responded by Mike Freer the MP for Finchley and Golders Green. The answer did seem to be responded well. At the end of the response there is a link to the Law Commission website that is focused on A Modern Framework for Disposing of the Dead “Bringing the law governing how we…

One Life (2023)
Follows British humanitarian Nicholas Winton, who helped save hundreds of Central European children from the Nazis on the eve of World War II.
An extremely moving, emotional, thought provoking story about an actual hero. We use this word so freely but really in this instance Sir Nicholas Winton really was one of a kind. I highly recommend this film. It will move you, it will stay with you for a long time. Excellent from start to finish.

And Season 3 of "Hacks"?
Why do so many actors who I adore want me to die on the day after my birth day?
I also haven't forgotten that, come midnight, I'll get to watch Colin and Eric Lange go head-to-head on "Sugar".
May 2nd might actually end me. The Idea Of You and Oliver and Ryan drinking real alcohol as Buck and Eddie weren't enough?

There is something cathartic about a man, never seeking validation or recognition, rather, lived in regret of not doing more, finally receiving his deserve, and living to 106 at that.
One Life is a 2023 British biographical drama film directed by James Hawes. It is based on the true story of British humanitarian Sir Nicholas Winton. The film stars Anthony Hopkins and Johnny Flynn, with Lena Olin, Romola Garai, Alex Sharp, Jonathan Pryce, and Helena Bonham Carter.

'...1. One Life
In the run up to World War Two, Nicholas Winton was instrumental in saving the lives of hundreds of children, most of them Jewish. He organised a series of train journeys so they could escape occupied Czechoslovakia and reach the United Kingdom.
The film details his heroic work in the late 1930s, as well as his reflections in later life when his untold story was revealed to the public on the BBC One show That's Life in 1988. Johnny Flynn and Sir Anthony Hopkins play the younger and older Winton.
(In UK cinemas from 1 January)
5. All Of Us Strangers
This story of love and loss stars Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal as two people living in an almost empty apartment block who gradually enter into a relationship.
Scott's character, Adam, is also still processing the death of his parents, and his grieving manifests itself in an unusual but touching way. Both stars could well be in awards contention for what is undoubtedly one of the most moving and affecting films of the year.
(26 January)...'

Uma vida - A história de Nicholas Winton
Tumblr media

Unsung Heroes of History: A Film Review of 'One Life'
The present often seems like the direct outcome of our past, a tapestry we refer to as history. Films about World War II always leave me pondering the depths of human cruelty—how could one individual inflict such profound suffering on another simply because of differences in belief, religion, ethnicity, or culture? This reflection prompts a critical examination of our progress as a society. Have…
