Been getting really into Minecraft more than usual, decided to throw in my version of the creeper + a funky nether variant!

‘Lore’ text below if you don’t wanna read the last two pictures

I imagine, as many others do, the creeper being very plant-like. I decided to go with the approach of it being a parasite latched onto another creature, namely a pig (real ones know why).

The parasite, of my own making, is the Hisser. It resembles a plant, pigs are the most drawn to it by sight and smell. The hisser, once a pig is close enough, latches into it and begins its conversion. Any being it does not want to use will be met with intense cat-like hissing.

The alternate path of the hisser is to be hunted and eaten by ocelots or stray cats. The hissers own hissing will not work on felines. The ancestral trauma of these interactions has caused all hissers, and thusly creepers, to fear cats.

Creepers have boom sacks, filled with sulfur, which causes the creeper to explode. The reason for exploding seems to be an extreme unfamiliarity towards Players, or perhaps an epigenetic response of an ancestral trauma, or to spread its kin! No one of the world truly knows.

The Saunter, a nether variant of the creeper, is a larger and more ranged mob. It takes over hoglins and has integrated with the natural fungus of the dimension! It spits fire and, if necessary, will use melee attacks (mostly ramming).

The saunter is rare, as it is highly unlikely for a hisser to find its way into the Nether, and then more unlikely for it to survive the harsh environments long enough to find a hoglin host. A hisser will undergo a color change in hopes of blending in, but it’s limited to yellows and pale browns. Once attached to a hoglin, the natural fungi of its digestive track joins the hisser and mutates it. This results in the saunter, its boom sacks mutated to allow fire spitting, it grows nether wart and crimson fungi from its skin, and it’s as strong as a hoglin. The fastest way to kill a saunter is to ignite it to blow up… but it’s a fatal risk to take.

What do you think happened to Karl post-Novel/Opening Cinematic? Do you think at some point he got captured by the Arch-Illager's army and is just in Highblock Dungeon? Or did he manage to get to another point in the Overworld? Because we don't see him after he runs in both the novel and cinematic.

What Ghasts even are? I honestly don't know what to point out

They're ghostly I mean, what else am I supposed to think by seeing a pale floating creature called ghast? but not undead mobs since they don't take extra damage from healing potions/arrows nor they take extra damage from weapons enchanted with Smite

They're fire+lava proof along with shooting fireballs but still can be burned by taking damage from swords enchanted with Fire Aspect and arrows from a enchanted bow with Flame

They're one of the few mobs with self-regeneration properties, the other ones being horses, Withers and Allays (the first one being arguable if it's merely for gameplay design) but it's not something inherent on them — instead it's on their tears — since they can't regenerate themselves

They also drop powder and... actually, wtf is even that thing? The more I look at it, the more it seems contradictory

The Mobestiary (which finds itself in this weird spot of not being canon while also being the only place where it explains a bit of things) seems to claim it's a mechanical creature but even this explanation doesn't seem to explain any of it

Also, the "Uneasy Alliance" (the name by itself suggests something I'm still unsure about) says we should rescue a Ghast from the Nether to bring it to the Overworld and kill it. I don't even know where to start, let alone concluding

Origin Story: Founders of the Banished Lands (Part 2)

It ended up being so long that I ended up having to make a part two. Here we go. This should end up being the last of it. It is a direct continuation so I recommend recapping the last one if you didn't just come from there.

Not but a few minutes later, he was running back without a second look at his friends. He ran and ran and ran. They all sat there, thoroughly annoyed. This had not only been a problem here but in every game they played. He would get adventurous and stray too far from the group. He never learned his lesson about it, either. After another long wait and their chatting, most likely bickering about Riven, he finally showed up. He surprisingly came back with his things in hand. You have to love limited chunk loading. They all finally came back together, showing each other their discoveries. It was a show-and-tell of nether items such as warped wood, quartz, and blaze rods.

There was one player who decided to keep their real discovery a secret, only sharing some of his items. That player was Lycanthus. He kept the netherite he discovered to himself. He showed them the bountiful amounts of gold he had, however, knowing there was much more in the world for him to uncover and that he must show something to prevent them from getting suspicious.

Eventually, they all finally left the Nether. Once they were back at camp, they were all quiet, doing their own thing and experimenting with the items they had gathered. It left them to ponder about their journeys alone. 

Riven was quite satisfied with himself, even if he had died in the process of getting his things. He had found several types of plants on his adventure. He adored the warped wood. He inspected the log, enjoying the luminous glow that adorned it. He eventually made wood out of it. He did not like the plank as much as the log, but he still appreciated it for its unique colors. It also left him to see his vision finally: a world with peace, one of free-roaming and adventure, the ability to go wherever you wanted without trouble.

Although Jupiter had spent all of her time building and gathering some resources at home, she was happy. She had discovered nether brick in the overworld this way. She had also felt quite satisfied with her small but well-decorated build. Anyone who walked through could cherish it. She saw her dream—one where someone could enjoy their life in the safety of a forest with whatever kind of farm or house they'd like. She saw one where somebody could enjoy the solitude of a couple of other players in a small town. She also saw one where they could settle in with the ores they needed, so they never had to worry about the dangerous mines again. Although she was often for the peace of her home, she still had a spark of adventure, to conquer the mines for all to travel. 

Seraphina was with where she was at herself. She was the only one to travel a bit when they came back. She only traveled to collect the items for more books and quills for later. She came back, keeping her face to the book as she looked around. She wanted to make a record of it all. Every discovery her friends made, her days and nights, even describing the landscapes around her and recording where they were. When she was lost in her reverie, she imagined a world where everybody could peacefully journal and enjoy the magic that surrounded them. She knew there had to be more to the magic of ores, and a portal had started it.

Victor was quite proud of himself, but he wasn't satisfied. He took to analyzing every property of the items he had gathered. He eventually concluded that blaze rods could be used as some sort of flame and crafting ingredient after crushing them and discovering both their heat and dust properties. He also figured out that the nether wart must be an ingredient, naturally assuming that since it was a plant, it could be used. He buried himself in his work, unable to quite put together the puzzle in front of him. As he worked, he had prospects for the future. He saw a world where he could innovate and show the other players his innovations. He wanted to teach them how to make their lives easier and how to discover such things on their own.

Lycanthus was in his own world. He had found the riches, and now he was absorbed by them. He had already smelted his goods in the mines, so now he sat holding this netherite ingot. He stared at it, pondering. He had a much different vision of peace than the others. He saw a world where he ruled over it all, controlling each move to ensure "peace" was kept. Guards to watch their every move. The guards in these suits are made of this everlasting material. An empire where nobody went hungry because he had all of the farms in the world to feed them.

Eventually, it was late, and all of them had pretty much finished their day's observations. They all decided that after so long, it was finally time to head home. It was dangerous heading home that night. They all had to walk over the hills, through the treacherous waters, and back home to their lovely home in the flower fields. Every time they entered their home, every single one of them could appreciate the giant tree that was just on the hill a little ways away from them. They were all tired. All of them had drifted apart to put their things away in their chests. They were mostly happy with themselves. They all crashed for the night. The next morning, they were all up for it again. They were all pepped to go to the nether, gathering their things and heading out. They all ran out to the camp, immediately running to the portal with their different motivations in mind.

Again, they split up. Jupiter and Seraphina stayed again. Lycanthus knew he had no more diamonds left to mine with, so he headed out for the waste. Victor wanted to go back to the fortress he had found and collect more of the blaze rods, hoping to figure out the mystery. Riven wanted to go adventuring and find more than he already had. He wanted to collect more of the two types of wood he had found and hopefully discover more.

It was a similar deal as yesterday. Riven adventured out and did not die this time. He had more time to see his vision. He also had a spark of inquiry. He knew that portals worked to bring you from dimension A to dimension B, and he also knew that he had come to a specific spot. At a certain point, he swore he caught Seraphina writing something in one of her books about numbers and positions, and he could put two and two together. The numbers were close together, so the position of the portal must've held some significance. It meant the portals were linked to specific places in the world.

He adventured out far once again, to the lands he knew, but he wanted to go farther than that. He was unsure whether to leave everyone behind everybody or wait. He decided to meet his demands halfway, quite literally. He would build the portal only halfway to where he wanted to go. He ended up traveling there safely for once and deciding to stop where he was. He built a portal and hoped it would work. He had figured out that metal sparked on his suit and had figured out how to make flint and steel.

Once he lit the portal, he stepped in. On the other side, he was met with fresh, untouched land. He saw it, and it amazed him like nothing else could. He didn't want to adventure it without somebody, so he began heading back to tell everybody. Meanwhile, Victor was out relentlessly grinding blaze rods. He felt like if he had enough, they would tell their secret. He also gathered many other kinds of loot as well.

Lycanthus was out, exploring the wastelands. He eventually found himself in a very large place, a bastion. He saw the intimidating brick of black standing tall in front of him. He crawled his way in, exploring every crevice. He found out quickly that the piglins weren't very excited about him. He only managed to collect some gold, some other miscellaneous items, and a smithing template. He got lucky and then got even luckier to get out alive considering he was in iron.

Jupiter spent her time still working at the port. Adding different resources, working out safe zones, and making the area easier to build on. She had also discovered soul lanterns, torches, and campfires. She adorned the place with the campfires. She had also built it with her friends in mind. She had little bits of Redstone for Victor, some food storage for Riven who seemed to always need it, and a few bookshelves for Seraphina. Lycanthus had been so... distant from them lately that she was unsure what to put, so she tried out a box for pickaxes since he had mined quite a lot lately, and finally she let herself build the campfire for her and everybody to relax at the end of the day.

Seraphina still kept herself buried for the most part, occasionally offering assistance. She noted the area and the development of the environment around her. She was truly just stuck with her nose in the books, as they say. Eventually, once again, they all converged once again. Surprisingly, Riven was not last to show up.

This time, it was Lycanthus. He had gotten himself in a good heap of trouble, and it took him a while to safely get back. Once everybody was there, Riven was of course the first to speak of his discoveries. He enthusiastically told everybody about his great discovery of being able to transport yourself to new parts of the world with the portal. They were all excited about it for much different reasons. They all followed him over the long distance to his newly made portal. They began to speak to each other about the portal before going in...

I've already said it but I'm still unsure if Withers were that much of a threat in the past

Assuming the loot we get in Nether Fortresses and End Cities were from humans before us, I don't know exactly how they wouldn't be able to defeat a Wither. I can imagine some explanations like Wither's strength in lore not being 1:1 with their in-game strength, older Withers being bigger and harder to kill than what we know currently or even that it was spawned merely by accident which could also mean there were more than one Wither at the time

Honestly, it could be all of these but something still doesn't fully fit in my mind and I can't really point my finger to what's bothering me. I mean, we kinda have some confirmation of Withers being a threat at some point with disc 5 but I don't exactly know if it/they're The Big Bad
