Pearl cat? If so, they may be too late to get to another iterator in time. Even if, the pup never seems to die from its illness, it's just weaker.

Pebbles never gets a solution for this problem, i think. Maybe Significant has one? It's not a rot based illness, though.

i did state i was afraid of using modcats, mostly because i do not want to discomfort modcat owners considering my incident (which absolutely fucking sucks and it became the major factor of how people judge/treat me in this fandom now aside from the whole shipping thing (even though it isn't a big deal in hindsight), however no modcat owner came forward to tell me to not use them, and there seems to be a few who are okay with me such as topicular (owner of lancercats and sporecat), faeling, pearlcat and the solace team(?)

im not sure with beecat, dronemaster, nomad and arbiter since ive been wanting to have them as side characters...

maybe im overthinking.

i wish it isn't a guessing game and I wish I was chill with everyone- but life does not work that way and i cant read peoples minds or properly see social cues. ofc i wouldnt do these characters injustice.

sorry for the venty tangent.

anyway i would continue using them until their owners tell me to stop (and i would prefer if they state so in advance). i just dont want trouble.

Hello! Sorry if this is an unconventional ask, but I really want to find an art work/blog in the mdzs fandom. All I really remember is that it had a lot of art, and it featured semi-realistic pencil sketches of the characters. Not the types where there's a single page portrait, but more like a pages with a bunch of sketches each. I remember seeing a Jingyi sketch and a WWX sketch at the least. The faces were not anime, but more like a slightly simplified rendering of The Untamed actors.

Thank you guys! None of these were the one I was thinking of, but I appreciate the help! @fael-draws comes close to the style, but I remember it being on traditional sketchbook pages rather than scanned digital ones. The style favors clean lines over soft rendering.

ok yea SO downpour is really just an au made into a dlc and the writing was faeling's from when they were 13 iirc and they only had like a year or so to touch it up which is Not Enough to fix all the mistakes ntm how many writers there were and how a lot of them had contradicting views.

ALSO suns delivering the rot/gold pearl to pebbles is ONLY DOWNPOUR LORE!!! not vanilla!! which i think is nice because i dont personally think it makes too much sense when i think about it. so i take some things from downpour and tend to stay to what we have in vanilla but sometimes i'll alter like tiny bits and pieces but never too much (unless we're talking about hunter)

i know how we're mostly using downpour as like Factual Canon when it really isnt - which dont get me wrong you do you and i do i. but i think we should think about whats only canon to downpour (a fan-made mod AU made into a dlc for the game) and not vanilla- because that brings a lot more to the table! like in vanilla we're never given pronouns for NSH or SRS - or any of the other iterators except for pebbles or moon. they are the only Canonically Gendered Robots - for all we know sig or suns could be she/her - but anyway im not going on with that thats all i have to say on that front lol.

iirc sig sending a distasteful message with a slugcat is ALSO downpour lore - but i liked that bit and honestly i think yea. sig would do that. sig seems like a guy to do that - especially while comms are still online. sig would do it and then send a message over broadcast once its sent and apologise for it methinks

WUAGHHHHH I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN I LIKE THEM SOOOO MUCH i really really want to talk about General interpretations but it's hard because of how obviously biased i am. but. Augh. this is so nothing but it got long and i'm embarrassed so woe read more be upon ye

i gotta start by mentioning that faelings original design & concept for suns (and spearmaster by extension) is sooo important to me and a lot of my personal interp comes from that, comics like this (link to the official discord btw) that they made for example! and though it has arguably less to do with suns, the 1.5 drought mod also has a special place in my heart but if i get too into that i'll start screaming and crying about it. just know that wanderer is so special to me and suns has two kitty cats that they love so much ok?🫶

anyways. i think because of the fact they aren't fleshed out much in canon aside from the spearmaster broadcasts there's a lot left up for the player to decide, which honestly is really fun to me and i genuinely love seeing other peoples interpretations!! but personally because you mentioned it and because i feel kinda strongly about this in particular, i wanna say that i don't think suns is mean, i think they definitely have the potential to be overprotective and intimidating, but it'd almost always be out of love. one thing the broadcasts ARE good at showing is just how much they care about basically everybody around them, even if they're a little.. dense about some things. they way they talk in the chat logs with nsh, about their guilt over pebbles' situation and trying to make up for it even though pebbles clearly doesn't want their help, about dooming not only pebbles but moon as well (who as far as canon text goes, they don't seem to have ever personally talked to moon at all imo). and when nsh stops messaging them, or becomes increasingly worried about moon, they get visibly concerned about his wellbeing as well and does their best to console him. my favourite broadcasts are the ones about their gradual realization that maaaaybe they care about spearmaster a little more than they originally intended to. they raised spearmaster, going as far as to teach it a personally modified sign language rather than a quick and easy one-way mark of communication like most iterators would do. the chat logs after spearmaster encounters pebbles and how worried suns was for it, about how they regret ever sending them to pebbles in the first place, and that they just wished it'd return home to them safely. there's also the fact that they kept an eye on spearmaster with their overseer basically 24/7, to the point that even pebbles knew that suns was watching. overseers can act on their own, we know that from what we see in canon, but pebbles knew that suns was actively watching when spearmaster entered his can. which. god this wasn't supposed to be about pebbles but pebbles not killing spearmaster is something that's so important to me because he so easily could have killed them and there was no reason for him not to. but despite how hurt he was and how wronged he felt, he knew that it would have ruined suns so he held himself back and it's so AAUUGHHHHHH!!!!!!! i love them all so much. this is barely even about suns anymore sorry i didn't mean to type so much about spearmaster i just love their campaign so much. don't even get me started on the thought of ascending as spearmaster that shit will make me start killing people i actually was going to talk about headcanon stuff too (mostly stuff from before the global ascension/after riv) but. i started thinking too hard about suns and pebbles and spearmaster and wanderer and and and. Well sorry but i fear that if i think about rain world any more today i may end up on national television. so maybe another day

Hicetnunc, from 11/11 until today. What happened?

I have been an active user of the platform for 5 months. I'm not from the beginning because I'm one of those people who hated nfts and the crypto market. I joined hicetnunc because they taught me about the tezos cryptocurrency, and how proof of stake and proof of work worked differently, but mainly because artists I admire and trust were minting there.

I'm from Brasilia, and I only found out who the creator/owner of the platform was on the 11/11, day of discontinuation (which by chance I already knew him in real life).

On 11/11/21, through hicetnunc's official profile bio on twitter, r*fael announced that the platform was discontinued, the same day that objkt launched the possibility of minting in their own contract. There was no prior notice or public consultation with users. Everyone was confused on twitter, asking if hicetnunc died, some already grieving as this was the largest part of the tezos ecosystem. As the platform is open source, and as there was already parallel hen projects on (hic.af/teztools/hicathon), 2 hours later there were already multiple mirrors working in the air.

The hicetnunc.art domain was under DNS custody, which in an open twitter space about hicetnunc, generated a debate about the fact that the new guardians of the platform are US American (and a company) and are appropriating a platform created by Brazilians and that served mainly in the global south.

The hicetnunc community reorganized itself into a discord server and after backlash, DNS gave the domain to teztools who holds custody of it for the community (the other mirrors already were hold). All these worked the same as the original and used the official contract (v2) to mint, that is, in these 2 months, even with the discontinued platform, rafael continues to receive the due fees in his wallet, which he had lowered to 1% within a couple of days of the platform’s resurrection. Devs and other sectors are overworked, and functioning with very low resources, sometimes paying to work. Publishers, mods, among other active workers in the community, have worked voluntarily.

With the mirrors working, some time later, r*fael said by third parties (and by posts that were immediately deleted) that he did not want his brand name to continue to be used. This generated a lot of debate, some community members wanted to keep the mirrors, and the name regardless of his will, with a desire to “pirate” the platform, but many others despised the idea of ​​appropriating someone's creation in this way, since artists they are the ones who suffer when their copyrights are violated. After a lot of talking, involving lawyers and users, it was decided that a rebrand would be necessary. We brainstormed and got more than 4 pages of docs with suggestions. Voting took place on discord, and after narrowing the list down, the names were evaluated by a branding team and also by lawyers to decide on trademarks that were already registered, and on using names very similar to hicetnunc.

Finally in January, the henvote tool was put to use, with the aim of having the new name collectively chosen. Simultaneously, a new contract was created, auditioned and finalized. At this specific moment of progress, r*fael decides to appear on both discords, criticizing the plan to switch to the v3 contract, and simultaneously saying that he likes the DAO experiment. He hinted that he would return to hicetnunc's official website, and criticized the community for reorganizing itself independently of him -despite numerous attempts to consult with him early on and his silence over the last few months of community discussion. He says we're taking ownership, ignoring the hard work and respect users have for hicetnunc's values.

A very important addendum, rafael publicized hicetnunc as a decentralized platform, and I believe that many artists, like me, only chose to work there because of this differential. rafael allowed the creation of the hDAO, but in practice, no voting took place. And although he communicates ambiguously, and always contradicts himself, the community continues to try to maintain an open dialogue, not only with him, but with everyone.

If you believe in this decentralized future, participate in the voting processes on HENCvote, and participate in discord hencommunity. We are just getting started, the future looks promising as we already have over 2100 voting users. I trust the artists, collectors and developers who have worked hard to keep the spirit of the platform alive. I strongly believe in self-management and collectivity. Participate!
