Following up on my last post, these are some of the model sheets I created for the final designs of the three main characters in Battletoads. For the uninitiated, model sheets are used to insure all of the animators understand the design and construction of the characters and are able to draw them consistently no matter what the characters are doing or what angle we are viewing them from.

CHARACTER DESIGN SHEET - Captain Mark

Species: Human (clone) Born: 32 BBY

After the Battle of Genosis, Mark was assigned to serve as Captain of the Eighty-Second (82nd) Battalion. Under the command of Jedi General Thalen – who was bookish and nervous – the 82nd suffered many loses. Everything came to a head 3 months later, during a battle on Eadu’s moon, where Thalen and nearly the entire Battalion was massacred. Only Mark and 11 other clones survived.

Mark and the remaining 11 were then reassigned to Chimera Company, a new clone company made up of the remnants of more than a dozen similarly-decimated armies. Chimera was led by Jedi General Teyla Marin and her Padawn, Commander Gida Tiatkin. With the poor leadership of Thalen, Mark was very reluctant to take orders from more Jedi, but he eventually found common ground with Teyla and Gida, and the three of them were able to turn the fragmented company into a cohesive, close-knit unit.

While he repainted his armor to match the purple of the rest of Chimera Company, he kept the green of the 82nd on the fin of his helmet as a tribute to the ones he lost. The rest of Chimera followed suit, wearing the purple paint of their current company, and the color of their original units on their helmets.

Mark is Force-sensitive. Discreetly, she and Gida Tiatkin began teaching – but not training – Mark about how to utilize his newfound abilities.

Once it came into her possession, Teyla gifted Mark the lightsaber of her old maser, Sifo-Dyas. He fitted it with a kyber crystal he had found in a cave while on a mission two years before. Mark’s fighting style leans towards offense, and is somewhat aggressive, similar to Form V, Shien & Djem So.

And thus completes the design sheets for the heads of Chimera Company!! Though time consuming and tedious, I'm so pleased with how they've turned out!!

THE GHOST OF THE PET THERAPIST Magda, of her real name, died at 81. She was still in practice and died when she slipped on a burger and fell from the pier. Therefore she's bound the the pier and can't move on because she feels she abandoned all her pet patients. But she's not too unhappy either, she talks to the fishes a lot and to some kids as well.

She was a hippy at the time and lived in several communes before settling in this little sea-town with her adoptive daughter. She opened a cabinet and took care of the depressed and anxious pets of the city. She says she can tell the mood of the city has lessened just thru the pets. She loved wearing colorful flowy dresses and headbands. She wore huge glasses and way too many rings on her fingers. She used to love animals obviously, but also playing cards, watching musicals and reading self development books. She used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and joints. When she meets the gang, she's more than happy to offer her services ! They get along very well with the fisherman. She flirts with him for fun and it's sometimes hard to talk to her because of that. THE GHOST OF THE FISHERMAN : The fisherman is from the 19th century, when the town was a thriving fishing harbor. He haunts an old boat that ornate a rarely used roundabout near the aquarium. He died at sea from swallowing an eel wrong and although he hasn't found peace (because he's a bit ashamed of how he died) he quite enjoys being a ghost. He's a gay ghost and has a very bear vibe ! Strong build, big belly. Very jolly and happy to help, easy to talk to. His passions used to be drinking rum at the pub and reading the cartoons in the gazette. But now it's mostly cloud watching and bird gazing. He flirts a bit with Amine before gently giving him life advices like a father would. story by @octo-pulse art by me

Gory is an anxious and lonesome little demon from the Greed ring. He can't remember many things so, his unconscious mind controls his every move. And it says one thing : FEAR IT All

Since he was 11, he's been working in multiple gambling clubs and bars around Hell under his boss, The Grandma, as the youngest in her groups of servers, bodyguards, and 'dancers'. No one knows why he was brought on, but he sure knows how to do his job. Though it's out of fear of being beaten to a pulp. He'd worked so much he'd never had time for any real friends. If he made a friend, it was more out of pity or manipulation. As he worked, he heard and saw many awful things; making him think the rest of the world was just as awful. After a few whispers few around him, he learned that humanity had come across a new god like chemical. And so did The Grandma.

Now to prove himself, Gory travels with the human child who possess these god-like powers. He tells everyone around he's only their for Rori as a shoulder imp and friend but, he's really only there to fulfil his Boss' wishes of obtaining more power for herself. It's a matter of time before Gory either succeeds or finally builds the courage to carve out his own path .
