Honestly, if all this were ever to be a thing in canon, I'd be surprised if Rafal could have a (lasting, untampered with) criminal record. I sort of thought, according to the world-building, most ordinary Nevers are exempt from whatever laws there are in the Woods, seeing as tales punish them organically, not through human means of enforcement, and besides, I thought School Masters were above the law since the main series has no evidence of these types of practices, like Rise implies.

Shy but sweet Ella was part of a colony that one of our trusted rescuers cared for. She was friendly and always running up to meet them and wanting to be petted. However, one night she disappeared & was gone for a few days. When she returned, she was badly limping. Her leg was badly fractured and needed to be amputated. After the surgery at the Humane facility, the rescuer was told to come pick her up because she wouldn't let anyone touch her! How could that be? Ella had been so friendly! The rescuer found Ella in a cage in a room or a bunch of barking dogs and was TERRIFIED! No wonder Ella was now so skittish! Why did they do that? The rescuer, now foster mom, took the cone off of her and brought her home and has had her since. She’ll lay on the bed with her but if Ella is approached too quickly she’ll jump off and run. She hops around on her three legs and never meows or gives any trouble. Please, someone, adopt this girl and give her the TLC and love she truly deserves, to help bring back the sweet purr-sonality she had before. Born 2022.

Mother bear shows cubs how to swim in California pool as residents watch on

A mother bear showed her two cubs how to swim in a couple's California pool on Monday, May 6.

Homeowner Rick Martinez filmed the inquisitive young animals looking on as the adult bear cooled off in the water at their Monrovia property.

The mother appeared to scare her cubs for a moment as she shook her head in the pool.

"Cuteness overload... We hope to watch them grow happy and healthy," Martinez said.

City of Monrovia officials say the local foothills are occupied by bears, coyotes, deer, mountain lions, and bobcats, which sometimes venture into residential neighbourhoods.

Meet Salt!

Background: Sweet little Salt is one of our ultimate favorite girls! She was living at a Target on a parking lot with her mom, Target. A feeder had taken care of them for years, gotten them both fixed, found homes for their kittens and then never tried to find these girls their own homes off the streets. We met her through several calls for help from the concerned community. They were living under dumpsters and Target (the store) had threatened to remove them.

We went and trapped in the rain to get these girls to safety. Target was several years older and we had to euthanize her due to a failing liver. Salt, however, is healthy and thriving. She needs a dental and a few teeth removed, but who wouldn't at her age? We will take care of this and have an appointment, but we really want her in a home asap and while we wait for her appointment.

Salt is a wonderfully kind, gentle soul who loves belly rubs, lots of pets and a hammock. She loves buckets or boxes with fluffy blankets and you'll find her napping in the sunshine soaking up the rays. She does enjoy a good scratch on a tall, sisal post…but most of all, she really enjoys curling up next to you with an arm around her.

We would love to find Salt a permanent home and/or a temporary foster so she can enjoy her senior years. She does not like dogs and is good with other cats as long as they're not dominant or alpha personalities.
