Beautiful Glitch Announces Monster Prom 4: Monster Con

Monster Prom 4: Monster Con is apparently heading back to basics, with players trying to find love at the nerdiest convention ever, either solo or with friends in multiplayer. So expect many jokes revolving around anime, gaming, comics and more, along with even more colorful characters the franchise is known for, with new mechanics like being able to build your own comic book along the way, as well as some subtle tweaks to elements like the character portraits.

Sam Wayne is a possessive stalker of a ghost who reeks of rotting meat and leaves puddles of yellow, bloody pus wherever he stands too long. He has alluded to wanting the PC to only ever be with him and that their relationships with any of the other characters are meaningless in comparison to the one they "share". Is always watching the PC and disregards their constant requests to stop, including while they sleep and shower. Regards any decision they make that does align with his own as "very foolish". And even though it was when he was actually still alive....Wayne is TECHNICALLY your cousin Tabitha's ex and she gets really upset if you ask her permission to date her undead "sloppy seconds" lol

She is a terrible person. She's constantly acting like she is the absolute best person ever. She talks about how she's saving the world and oh poor her she can never rest. But literally everyone tries to get her to take a break and she absolutely refuses. She will make up emergencies so that people will pay attention to her. She is constantly talking about the fact that she's the leader of the Coven and the star of her show. And acts like she's the best thing to ever happen to the universe. She can't do anything wrong. Except the fact that she canonically dates exclusively villains and gets off on beating them up and then sleeping with them. She has also cheated on at least one of her exes (can't remember if there were more) and she just refuses to accept responsibility for the fact that she wrecked his life. Everything is about her. You can't have anything. And let's not forget that she's constantly talking down to the player character like they're an absolute idiot. She doesn't deserve your love. She doesn't deserve your time. The only thing she deserves is to win this poll.

She's convinced that she's the main character and that everything that happens has to do with her. You find out that she's cheated on all of her past partners and doesn't care that it hurt them.

shes actually one of the more normal and reasonable dateable people in her entire franchise! she doesnt murder people for the hell of it every day, she doesnt actively advocate for the genocide of an entire race, she doesnt constantly scam vulnerable people out of their money and run criminal gangs!! yes, she has flaws like being a workaholic and self centered, yes she has bad taste if you look at her former love interests, but at least by the time of monster camp she is trying to work through Some of these issues! (and hell, most characters in this franchise in the later entries try to become better people while still being exaggerated, over the top characters, just look at polly!)

It breaks my heart to know that one of the most beautiful houses near me was a getting town down to put in a Costco. Like not only is it a historical mansion but so many of us adore it, we’d rather have it than some big box store of nightmares. Don’t get me wrong, I know people like cheap bull toilet paper and rotisserie chicken but that house is worth far more than that to so many of us. The gold swan fixtures on pink marble could’ve been a bed and breakfast bathroom. The stair case in the entry could’ve been the place of wedding and prom photos. They could’ve hosted so many events and mad so many memories for people but some monster let it rot. It makes me physically ill. That was once someone’s lively hood and you let it sit and waste away when it had potential. But now it can’t be saved and the land it’s on is destroyed. I hope the people who did this can’t sleep at night for a long time. They took away a source of beauty and joy in an area that’s nothing but highways, interstates, mediocre hotels, subpar tattoo shops, storage units and a fucking McDonald’s gas station combo. There’s no beauty there anymore. Hell, even the farm people can visit is next to a car dealership and a place that sells storage buildings. No amount of bushes you plant in the median can cover up the sins you’ve committed.

Summary: Shizuku is late to meet Kasumi

Shizuku sighed as she stared at her reflection.

She looked horrible. Well, more horrible than usual. Why did the effects of sleep deprivation seem to make her scars look worse?

She reached for her mask. Time to resume the masquerade.

As she shifted position, the reflection of her clock came into view.

Wait, was that the time? Drat! Kasumi-chan is going to be upset!

Shizuku hastily checked her mask and smeared some concealer under her eyes before hurrying out the door.

“You’re late, Shizuko.” Kasumi huffed as she heard Shizuku approach.

“I’m sorry, I…” Shizuku cut off has her girlfriend’s expression changed to one of surprise and panic.

Suddenly, Kasumi grabbed Shizuku’s shoulders and shoved her behind a nearby tree.

“K-Kasumi-chan?”

“Your mask is crooked.” Kasumi hissed, glancing fervently to either side. “Like really crooked.”

“Eh?” Shizuku started to reach up, but was stopped by her girlfriend.

“I’ll get it.”

Shizuku swallowed down a protest. Nobody except her guardians and herself had ever touched her mask. Even when Shizuku had decided to show Kasumi her real face, to make sure, more for her own sake, that Kasumi knew who, and what, she was dating.

Thankfully, Kasumi had been fine with the reveal. Not even an eye twitch or other indication that she was trying to pretend not to be disgusted. Instead, she had offered a sympathetic smile and told Shizuku it didn’t change the girl she had fallen for.

But, this was different somehow…

Shizuku couldn’t help a small gasp as Kasumi deftly removed her mask, shifted it slightly, and slipped it back on.

“There.” Kasumi said as she stood back. “That’s a lot better.”

“Th… Thank you…” Shizuku could feel her cheeks burning.

“Although I suppose Kasumin should probably fix Shizuko’s horrible makeup too.” Kasumi dug through her purse and produced a compact. “Did you stay up too late again working on your play again?” She asked, leaning back in.

“… Yes…” Shizuku admitted reluctantly.

“Geez, Shizuko. Weren’t you the one scolding Makiko for overworking herself the other day?”

“… Yes…”

“Well Shizuku needs to take better care of herself too. Improper sleep is bad for… Wait, is it bad for your physical body’s skin?”

“Probably. My guardians did say it behaves essentially like a normal human body.”

“Except normal humans can’t dismiss their bodies to… wherever Shizuko dismisses hers.”

“True…”

“Well, if it’s essentially like that, then Shizuko needs to essentially take care of it like that. And if Shizuko is gonna insist on being useless in doing so herself, then Kasumin may just have to start staying at her place to watch over her.”

“Alr… wait, what?”

Kasumi giggled. “Shizuko~ wa~nted to agree~.” She practically sang. “Anyway, we’re done here, so let’s go get Shizuko some caffeine.” She tilted her head. “Can ghosts drink coffee? I can’t remember seeing Shizuko doing so.”

Shizuku chuckled. “Yes, caffeine works just fine with me, except I prefer tea.”

“Fine, but you’re getting Kasumin a mocha latte with extra whip and caramel drizzle.”

“Why am I buying?”

“Kasumin just saved Shizuko from embarrassment, so to repay her, Shizuko should buy her something as sweet as Kasumin is.”

Shizuku tried to hold back a laugh, was unsuccessful, almost snorted, and finally decided to just let it out.

“Alright, fine.” Shizuku agreed after a moment.

Kasumi grinned, grabbed her girlfriend’s hand and led them to the coffee shop.

Author’s Note Continued: This was a fun one to write. I don’t think I’ve written motherly Kasumi before, so I tapped a bit into motherly/big sisterly Nico for it.

My original idea for this prompt was to be the morning immediately after Relationship Goals?, but I wasn’t sure I could fit what I wanted for that part of this couple’s story into 4k characters. Perhaps I’ll write that someday soon.

Callista comes from a noble Faerie family of shapeshifters who forced her to attend the incredibly dull prestigious Ivy Grove Boarding School for extensive education in Faewood’s history and etiquette. Sebastian is the only son and youngest of six full siblings and 16 half siblings from his parent’s prior relationships. Apparently 200 year old vampires get around quite a bit? Sebastian has inherited their vampirism and thinks he’s holding up well under the tremendous amounts of pressure his parents put on him as their only son together. The result is a goal oriented, confident, overachieving student body president who is definitely on the tsundere end of bisexual disaster. If it is schoolwork or student council he knows exactly what he’s doing, but romance? not a chance! And definitely don’t ask about the Incident with the Unicorn Treasurer (made by @prismaticpotentia) who he definitely did NOT date... ever.

Crystaliian "Lian" Equus is the first born and only son of the Equus family, heir to their vast fortune and business empire. He has two younger sisters, Snowdrop and Wisteria, and his parents are always working, leaving them in the care of the staff by and large.

Lian has been expected his entire life to take over the family business, but his first love is gardening, the outdoors, and quiet. While academically driven and physically very active, being on the cheer team and student body treasurer, his dream is to move to the country and live off the land, maybe run his own flower shop.

While bisexual, he's been crushing on Nola since 6th grade. While at the time he didn't recognize the feeling, mistaking his crush for hatred. This lead to him writing Nola an anonymous note in pink, strawberry-scented glitterpen that just read "Get out of my school."

Lian has since grown up enough to recognize what a crush is, and slowly come to terms with being pansexual. He's had a few relationships across genders and sexualities, but nothing long-term. Alarschat-aal, or Ally as she is currently preferred to be called, is an ancient eldritch being that has enrolled at the school for reasons only she knows. That’s really not saying a lot, though. She... or they... or It? is unknowable. Why so many teeth when she doesn’t necessarily need to eat? Why so many arms when she barely lifts a finger for herself? Why does she own so many sweatshirts???
