good morning folks, the mighty meows have blessed me today. I woke up to cats harmonizing their meows and as much as I wanted to go on my terrace and join them, I feared if I would perhaps scare them away and so I enjoyed the harmonisation in peace.

however, when it stopped for some time, me and my sibling went upstairs to feel the morning breeze and witness the sunrise, which was also when we got to know that the harmonisation was actually two cats fighting and meowing at e/o or perhaps it was peaceful harmony earlier but a beef later.

after all that realisation, we sat near the water tanks and witnessed the ginger cat healing itself while we were being healed as well (the morning breeze, the sky slowly turning orange, the birds flying, even the ku kadoo koo of the hen/rooster and the loaf-y cat feeling the breeze w its eyes closed)

I've been doing a lotta thinking about a particular interaction I got with Hector on my second save file (technically my first since. I forgot to save the first one but I digress)

When Hector is opening up about his insecurities and says he wishes that he was different, I chose the "why? You're so cool!" dialogue option rather than the "I think everyone feels that way sometimes" option, and I was initially surprised to see that he SNAPS at the player in response to this. My knee-jerk reaction was "I fucked it" but what REALLY really stuck with me is when he apologizes for lashing out and says "you don't need to make it all better right now". And I Understood......

See, I chose that dialogue option not only for varieties sake but also because it sounded like something I WOULD say, or at least, a less experienced version of me would say. Something I've actually had to LEARN during the course of my relationship with my irl partner is exactly that: I don't have to make it all better. I tend to struggle with...not empathy per se but having grown up the way I did in the family I had, it was on ME to fix things, it was on ME to make them feel better. I thought I was SO empathetic but I had to be told that hopping right into 'problem solving' mode actually made people feel LESS listened to rather than more.

I think it's important that Hector calls the player out on it! I think it's important that you're given the option to apologize, because loving someone and caring about their problems isn't JUST about 'fixing' them its about listening. I don't know it's just been on my mind today and it makes my relationship to him feel more REAL you know...? It makes me feel like this could really last
