As someone who lives in Rainier, WA, I can say that not only is Mt. Rainier is a very attainable goal (people come through here fucking DAILY) but that the two most common reasons people do it are "I know someone who did it" or "someone told me I couldn't and/or shouldn't do it" and now you got both! You climb that mountain! And if you wanna say you did it for Sidney Crosby, even though it makes no sense, it will simply make it cooler. Also, shout out to your uncle, third times the charm, my dude.

he had double hip replacement surgery just last year, so I don't know if it's in the cards for him anymore! Though I was really impressed with how well he did on the trail we did (sunrise) so... never say never, right?

backstory:

maya is an avid snowboarder and skiier - her, her father and little sister were always taking vacations to mt korembi. the three of them were close after her mother passed when she was only 3, when her sister was born. 

she lost contact with her family when she chose not to persue snowboarding as a career and moved to evergreen harbor to work as a civil designer. her father was not supportive of this decision saying she was “throwing he talent away” and did not understand the point of eco-friendly development.

she tried to maintain contact at first but the rift was to big to heal accross such a distance. she doesnt miss her home in henford-on-bagley but she does wish she could see her sister again, she doesn’t envisage reconnecting anytime soon with her father who has kept the sisters apart.

sidney was maya’s neighbour when she first moved in, he is a budding basketball player, his family have very much taken her in and she feels at home now in evergreen harbor.

And so, Steven grumbled in his room, once again arguing with Lustre.

Lustre was clearly winning the argument purely by playing Steven's own words back to him. {"They won't be able to do anything with the orbs."} there was a sound, as if rewinding a tape with the reading head still in place. {"They won't be able to do anything with the orbs."} There's another sound of rewinding, and then, at half speed,

"Yes. Okay. I made a mistake."

{"Well! This weather is lovely! It's so sunny and bright,"}

{"We'll assign Sidney to infiltrate the Aqua base in Lilycove. Phoebe, delay them as long as you can at Mt. Pyre."}

"Are you saying we should have been in Lilycove?"

This time, it's Winona's voice on playback. {"The winds blow to Sootopolis and Lavaridge."} and then Sidney's. {"Yeah. Aqua's definitely here, and in force. I can't get a good handle on what they're planning, they aren't recruiting."}

{"T h e w i n d s b l o w t o S o o t o p o l i s a n d L a v a r i d g e."}

"Okay, okay, I get it! ... What do I do now?"

Back to Steven's voice. {"What's the weather report?"}

"-- The Institute? Why?"

{"W h a t ' s t h e w e a t h e r r e p o r t?"}

"... Someone else can do that to find where the super-ancient pokemon are and keep us updated. ... Then... I should go to Lilycove myself."

{"Metagross are my favorite. They're like a supercomputer, all by themselves!"}

"You're not the only one who can calculate where the weather's the worst, Lustre."

{"Apologize to" "Wallace <3" "It's demeaning." "... and hope they let us help."}

"Wallace!? But it's Lavaridge that's in trouble!"

Flannery's voice. {"This is a matter for the Vulcani."} Wallace's voice. {"If you're not even going to listen, why am I here!?"} {"The winds blow to S o o t o p o l i s"}

"You can stop remixing everyone's words now, thank you."

Steven's voice. {"Drake" "Delay them as long as you can." "We're after one thing:" "The lion's head!"}

"... Look, I can't be in two places at once. I can either apologize to Wallace, or I can break into Lilycove. Pick one."

Wattson's voice, from a historic recording on Sea Mauville, with fire in his voice: {"And what's the Corporation got?! A bunch of scrap metal that's fucking useless without us running it!"}

"Wait... You surely don't mean--"

Still Wattson: {"But to the Corporation, what matters is the ship!" "Who cares about the men?" "It's about how they value" "The Ship!"}

"That's why Drake is here."

{"Protecting" "A bunch of scrap metal" "I say, we scuttle" "The Ship!"}

Steven sighs. "Drake isn't a member of the Elite Four for nothing. I have confidence in his abilities."

Back to Steven, more insistently. {"Phoebe lost" "Mt. Pyre" "and" "The orbs."}

"Drake isn't alone this time, and we already know where Team Magma is. Only Team Aqua wants the submarine."

{"Order" "Drake" "to" "scuttle" "the submarine." "if necessary." "Better" "to" "deny it to the enemy." Wattson again: "Ships can and will be refloated! Ships are expensive! But men, ah, men are cheap! Men, you just get a replacement, is that it?"}

"We need that sub as it is!" Steven protests. "You know why! You even suggested we build it!"

Steven's voice. {"So you'd rather the children do it!?"}

Steven winces. "… No. You're right. I'll relay the orders."

It was at that moment that all hell broke loose.

Silence.

Nothing but bitter, dreadful silence fills the space between the two trainers.

The duskball in the E4 member's grip tightens, as does the knot in his throat. He can only croak out a single name:

"Brittney?"

The magma grunt, hisses in frustration, a great ball clenched in her own grip.

Sidney had been in Mauville for some shopping, before spotting a group of Magma grunts outside the city. Sidney, at first, had decided to simply scare them off, however it turned into a chase as one of the grunts, sprinted away in fear. He thought maybe she was up to something, and ran her down all the way to where they stand now. Mt. Chimney looms over the two siblings, the mouth of the Fiery Path yawning just behind them

"Brittney," he repeats again, voice waivering, "Wh-what are ya doin' out here?"

"Go home, Sid."

The dark-type specialist almost laughs, "Go home? I should be tellin' YOU that!" he runs his free hand over his face, pacing slightly in place, before turning back to his sister, magenta eyes staring darkly back at him.

"Are ya fuckin' KIDDIN' me? THIS is what ya've been up to? THIS is why ya haven't talked to me in months?!"

"Don't belittle me!" she snarls, gritting her teeth, "I KNOW what I'm doin' okay-?"

"Do ya? Ya fuckin' SURE about that? When ya told me ya got away from mom an' dad, THIS isn't what I was expectin'." -When she says nothing, he continues, trying to contain the rage burning in his chest. "Magma is a TERRORIST organization, do ya get that? Do ya understand what sort of SHIT yer gettin' inta-?"

"I said DON'T belittle me, alright?" Tears well in her eyes, but are quickly swept away by her sleeve, "No one else believed in me- NO ONE. These guys? They DO. They treat me like an adult an' take care'a me. THEY'RE my REAL family." Before Sid can retort, she bursts out again, "So, if you know what's good for you- Stay outta my way."

Sid shouts out her name, but it falls on deaf ears. She's already gone, running into the Fiery Path, her silhouette disappearing into the maw of the cave. He should probably go after her but something freezes him in place, a sort of fear or anxiety. Something he hasn't felt since living his parent's home.

Dejectedly, he replaces the duskball back onto his holster and turns away from the cave. -Away from his baby sister.

"I believed in ya."

Le jour où Stuart Briscoe se porta volontaire pour les marines il annonça la nouvelle à un ami, le capitaine Horace Sidney May. Cet homme reçut la nouvelle avec joie et il déclara : “Merveilleux ! Tu vas clouer tes couleurs au mât !” Cette expression anglaise est basée sur le fait que dans le passé les marins en partant du port hissaient sur le mât le drapeau de la reine ou du roi qu’ils servaient. S’ils rencontraient des pirates ou un ennemi ils pouvaient descendre ce drapeau et hisser un drapeau blanc pour abandonner leur allégeance. Certains capitaines obligeaient un marin à clouer le drapeau de couleur de leur allégeance au mât pour que personne ne puisse le descendre pour se rendre.

Ce qu’Horace voulait impliquer c’est que si Stuart était sérieux au sujet de sa foi il devait hisser les couleurs de son allégeance à Christ en vivant sa foi devant ses pairs dans la marine. Le premier soir chez les marines, conscient que ce que son ami lui avait dit était primordial mais dans la crainte de la réaction de ses pairs, il attendit un moment où les autres marines s’étaient éloignés et il se mit à genoux pour prier. Un silence à couper au couteau régnait dans le baraquement, Stuart paralysé par la peur n’arrivait même pas à prier.

Puis il commença à entendre les pas d’une trentaine de marines qui entrèrent et vinrent l’entourer. Il compta jusqu’à 25 et puis il se leva. “Qu’est-ce qu’il fait ?” dit un, et un autre répondit : “Je pense qu’il priait !”, “Qui ?” “Dieu ?” “Qui est Dieu?”. Ils commencèrent à le bombarder de questions !

Cette nuit-là Stuart put non seulement afficher ses couleurs en disant qu’il était chrétien mais il put répondre aux questions de ces hommes et de plus leur expliquer comment devenir chrétien. Stuart reconnaît que si ça s’est passé comme ça, cela n’était nullement grâce à ses talents, car cette nuit là il avait très peur mais si nous affichons notre allégeance à Dieu, Dieu se sert de notre disponibilité.

“Ne vous inquiétez pas d'avance de ce que vous aurez à dire, mais dites ce qui vous sera donné à l'heure même ; car ce n'est pas vous qui parlerez, mais l'Esprit Saint” (Mc 13. 11).

03/02 Kobosil fa scatenare Bolgia - Bergamo 

Al Bolgia di Bergamo i top dj della scena elettronica mondiale si alternano senza soluzione di continuità.  Il top club sull'A4 infatti, il prossimo sabato 3 febbraio 2024, chiama in console il tedesco Kobosil, artista noto, oltre che per i suoi scatenati dj set, anche per essere il direttore creativo di 44 Label group, importante marchio di moda. 

Con 265mila follower su Instagram e quasi 18 milioni di ascolti su Spotify per la sua versione di  Rosa Anschütz - "Rigid", Max Kobosil è ormai uno dei protagonisti della techno nel mondo, amato e richiesto a tutte le latitudini. E' nato e cresciuto a Neukölln, quartiere di Berlino a cui anche David Bowie dedicò un brano incluso nel capolavoro "Heroes". Abbandonati presto gli studi, l'elettronica e i club diventano il suo mondo. Nel giro di poco tempo si impone come il più giovane dj resident del Berghain, leggendario club berlinese. Nel 2023 fonda R - Label Group, etichetta e laboratorio sonoro d'avanguardia, il cui motto fa comprendere che questa diventerà la casa 'naturale' di musicisti, designer e artisti che utilizzano il suono e l'estetica come forma di espressione. La hard techno di "One Life One Chance", pubblicato sulla citata etichetta nella raccolta "Sektion 3", è il manifesto della sua odierna visione musicale: una techno dura e futuristica, in evoluzione. Nella Club Room del Bolgia si esibiscono durante la stessa notte anche Alex Rubino, Simon Ricci, MuDdler e Riccardo Ferrarolli b2b Giulio Domi. 

Per chi balla nella Lab Room del Bolgia di Bergamo il 03/02/24 ecco invece il sound di Fade Made, party che vede protagonisti in console: NOt Family Friendly, Daniele Frate, Solid Ravers, Alec-t, Solter, Wild Makinist, UncleKetch, Zopines e Luca Mt. Il Bolgia apre alle ore 23.30 e si balla fino alle 6 del mattino. 

L'appuntamento di sabato 3 febbraio 2024 al Bolgia di Bergamo con Kobosil è l'ennesimo importante per il top club sull'A4. Qui si sono esibiti super dj come Marco Faraone, Leon, Chris Liebing, Sam Paganini, Indira Paganotto, KLANGKUENSTLER, Nastia, Ilario Alicante, Luca Agnelli, Deborah De Luca, Tita Lau, Sidney Charles, 999999999 e Lokier o AnD.
