Heya Anon,

Sadly, I don't have an empty template to share since it was an edit I made long ago of Simgaroop's 4 multi-pt mod that I turned into a 6 PT mod. I no longer remember how I did that but luckily it's really simple and easy for you to download my multi pt (or any other multi pt with the number you prefer) and have your sim of choice replace mine. I did this every time I wasn't happy with the DNA I picked and wished to have a different facial features, skintone or eye colours. So what I'm teaching you won't break your neighbourhoods.

How to replace a Multi PT sim(s)

(Just a reminder, you can never use more than one Multi PT at a time, so treat them like a default replacement and only have one in your download folder)

For this tutorial, I'm gonna use my own Multi PT mod as an example but this can work with any other version that's shared out there since you're still gonna use the same GUID number. Which is needed to ensure the mod knows which sim they will pick up the DNA from.

So firstly, let's download and then store the PTs and Mod files in a folder like shown below.

You should have the sims that are being treated as the PT NPC and the mod that I renamed "Simgigglegirl_6PT_Mod". We aren't gonna mess with the mod at all but keeping it in this folder so that once you finish replacing the PTs, you have all the files needed together.

Make another folder inside this folder and name it something like "New PTs" so that you can store the sims you'll use as the replacement.

Now we're gonna make our PT sims. Open up Bodyshop and make as many sims needed for the amount your replacing. Reminder #1: Make sure to have a note pad open and everytime you finish making your sim in Bodyshop and click save, write down the date and time (or just time if you want) that's shown in the SavedSim folder. This way you can keep track of which sim is which since it doesn't allow us to rename the file while Bodyshop is still open. Example shown below.

Reminder #2: Whether or not you plan to share your Multi PT. If your planning to use CC on your PT then keep a track of what you used. That way you can include the file needed for those downloading your PT or so you know which CC file(s) not to delete, while clearing up your download folder.

I only made one new sim for the tutorial but you will be repeating the following steps with the other PTs as well. So after you made your sims in Bodyshop, close it and transfer all the files in SavedSim folder over to the "New PTs" folder, the one I asked you to make before opening Bodyshop.

Now open up one of the "to-be-replace" PTs with SimPE and then open up the sim you want to replace with SimPE. You should have two separate SimPEs opened up right now.

Inside the "to-be-replace" PTs you want to highlight the following Res files (Function - Main, Function - Int, Catalogue Description, Semi-global File, Multi PT - #####, [Object Functions]) These files are all you need from the PTs, so highlight them and then right-click to extract. Save them temporarily in a place you will remember to grab them from.

Before leaving, click the Multi PT - #### Res file. With a notepad open, make a note of the GUID and which PT is linked with it. Usually it transfers this detail correctly but just incase, you need to know what GUID number the mod will be looking for to extract DNA info from.

Now we can close this PT and move to your replacement PT. Right-click and click the Add function. Go to where you placed the files I told you to extract and add the XML files, which are inside each folder. You have to add them one by one but you should have all six files in the end.

If you plan to give your PT a new name then you need to edit the Catalogue Description and Multi PT - #####.

For Catalogue Description, the red underline is treated as the sim first name and the purple underline as last name. Remember to click "Commit File" once you made the change (you'll find it on the far right)

For Multi PT - #### you can change the name where BiancaBunnyPT is written. Leave the "Multi-PT - " part unchanged. I forgot the reason why, but let's assume it can confuse the mod on how this sim should be treated. Once you finish renaming the filename, check that the GUID number match what my PT had. If so the transfer was done correctly and the mod will pick up this sim as one of the PTs to choose. If not, just type in the right GUID number and then click the update button.

Commit and save the file.

And that's it! One PT has been successfully replaced with your sim. Make sure to delete the PT you extracted from and repeat the steps I taught you above till all the old PTs are deleted. You should have only the mod left inside the folder, at the end.

I would recommend having your new Multi PT files bundled up together in the same folder, as shown below, in your download folder. So that it's easy to find, should you want to edit it again.

How to make a CC-free game folder for testing purposes

When people report problems with my content I often ask if they have tried the thing in a CC-free game. And often, they haven't.

I assume they might find it troublesome. If you always take backups and move your Downloads folder away and avoid saving, I agree, that is pretty troublesome. Also prone to mistakes – I stopped doing it after the one time I got my multi-PT mod messed up.

So I wrote a quick tutorial for how to do it with a separate folder system instead. The benefit of this setup is that you'll only need to do it once, after that it's very quick to switch folders at any time.

Go to the Documents directory where your game folder is located.

Rename the folder. I use something sensible at the start so I can easily recognize the folder, but it can be anything.

Then in the same directory, make a new folder.

Rename the new folder as The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection or whatever it should be, depending on your installation.

Go the the original game folder and copy everything but the Downloads folder.

This way you'll get your startup cheats, neighborhoods, and CEP-Extras carried to the new game folder. I also include Projects and SavedSims myself as these separate folders are handy to have for Body Shop work, too.

Go to the new folder and paste.

Now you may want to create a new Downloads folder here, that you can put that one piece you want to test without other CC in :)

This is the main advantage here. Moving things around and taking backups takes a lot of time compared to just changing the names of two folders.

You can also generate a new game folder by launching the game after renaming the other folders in this directory. It's useful if you want a truly fresh folder.

Maxis Match CC Free Multi-Pt Mod

I got bored of the multi-pt mod that I was using so I made my own! I wanted something maxis match. They all have black hair genetics because that's how I like it, but it is easy to change in simpe (feel free to ask for a tutorial). I have tested them and they look good in all lifestages and genders. I have PT21, PT28, PT32 and PT47 pictured in that order. It is CC free but you need the mannequin babies can be born fix for PT47 otherwise your game will crash or freeze upon the baby being born.

A thing that bothered me about other Multi-PT mods is that the baby wouldn't have the alien face anymore, so I made sure to mix in some of the alien face template into all of them. I have also used custom sliders and baby face templates on them, but you don't need them and not having them will not cause any issues, because it is part of the character file. This is what the babies look like:

This is a really good place to start!!! I would download her "anti-corruption" mods and her essential mods (except maybe ACR, I have ACR but I super have it edited so its less ridiculous). However, I download a lot of these!!! (Not any of the miscarriage ones tho they make me too sad to play with ahahaha). Also, she has tutorials on her YouTube for downloading mods and such if youre having trouble.

"Creaturefixes" is also REALLY REALLY GOOOOD, You NEED that if you want to play with occultism in any way (ESPECIALLY ALIENS!!) I think (If I remember correctly) this is the version I use. Also, I use an equal genetics mod to make it more likely to have alien genetics passed down (There are multiple versions of these, Im sure a bit of googling can find you what you need.)

On the topic of occults, you totally need a Multi-PT mod. Theres a bunch out there, but I believe PleasantSims has one listed that I do think is really fantastic.

DOWNLOAD CLEAN TEMPLATES OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS! It fixes a bunch of issues with the game especially if you plan on playing multiple generations.

Some good sims 2 simblrs on here that have a lot of info & CC on their blogs are @/lazyduchess, @/poppet-sims, @/midgethetree, @/deedee-sims, @/pooklet (these default face templates are great!!! (These Blogs are the ones off the top of my head)

TOTALLY SEEMS OVERWHELMING I KNOW But Its so worth it bc (IMO) The Sims 2 is really fun and chaotic if you love playing rotational and managing a little world! It can be outdated, it is turning 20 years old this year, but theres a reason it is so iconic as a game (its just really really fun.)

Explore and find what you like! The Sims 2 Simblr community is pretty organized and theyre always discovering new things in the code of the game.

BTS Tutorial: gift cards for multiple iTunes

Today I set up 4 extra iTunes accounts and then I redeemed gift cards from JIMIN FUNDS to make more purchases of Set Me Free Pt. 2.

I will break down the experience for you so you might feel more comfortable doing this too, or if you know of someone who really wants to help but is pinching pennies.

But first--let me start by saying: there is a really good post over here about why it's important to avoid working with solos and antis. I do not want any drama on my blog and I never wish to cause harm to any BTS member. So I DMed Jimin Funds and straight up asked them if they were solos and/or didn't love all the members of BTS... and they flat-out said "No! It's Jimin OF BTS 100% of the time!!"

So after interacting with them a lot today, I believe they are a Jimin-biased account on Twitter but real ARMY in their personal lives, just like me. However, it seems they will take donations from anyone--including shippers, solos, OT7s, multis, who and whatever--and they will distribute to anyone buying for Jimin--including shippers, solos, OT7s, multis, who and whatever. If you wanna help Jimin, they will empower you to do so and not put you through a lot of questions to "vet" you about it. They are acting like a safe middle man.

But Jimin Funds themselves are NOT SOLOS and are actually very nice. It was 3am where they live and they were diligently still up and getting funds into the hands of ARMY like me, answering questions, making connections and suggestions. I have followed their twitter for months and they have never shaded any member and they work hard for Jimin as far as I can see, so I have no qualms working with them, but you do you. You can search for OT7 funding accounts on Twitter and use them by all means!! Please do not bring drama to my blog. I will force you to ride the drama llama if you do.

Anyway, Jimin Funds have bought hundreds of gift cards so folks can afford to buy Jimin's single and title track. Right now they are prioritizing digital sales for US and PR ARMYs but reach out to them with questions for other options.

I will walk you through how it's done, in case you wanted to do it but weren't feeling comfy and so are still on the fence.

First up, I have an iTunes account under my real name with my real life credit card and that's what I use for my main music buying, just in my real every day life outside of being ARMY. I also have 5 other fandom gmails I made, which I'm constantly cycling through to vote, stream, engage on social media, and make purchases. So today I logged out of my main iTunes and I set up accounts there with my other emails. I could only set up 4 other accounts, because iTunes limits you to 5 emails per credit card.

I input the same birthday, same address, same security questions, same credit card. Used different handle names based on the gmail address so I can keep it all straight in my mind. These 5 accounts are tied to me, one user, BUT IF I USE A GIFT CARD TO BUY, the 5 accounts' purchases count separately for the charts.

So I DMed Jimin Funds and they individually released $2 iTunes electronic fund codes to me via DM and I purchased Set Me Free four more times, and sent them screenshots and my thanks.

They did not ask me for my name, address, credit card info--nothing. I just told them the email I'd be using and as a courtesy gave them a screenshot of my iTunes account with that purchase showing them that I spent their funds as they'd intended. I feel safe that I will not be data mined just because they know those shell email addresses.

They asked me to please use the remaining funds on each gift card to purchase Like Crazy when it drops, which I will definitely be doing.

All told, I will have bought Jimin's physical album 6 times and his digital album 5 times on iTunes and 3 times elsewhere, plus I will stream nonstop on 3 devices using 6 free trial premium accounts for 24 straight hours. I'm not sure what else I can realistically do but I'm all ears if you have suggestions.

Please reply to this post with links if you know of accounts funding the entire digital album on March 24th.

I have no idea how much it will end up costing on iTunes, but the average price of an EP is around $10-$12. That can add up for folks, I know, but sales are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT especially considering the names Jimin is trying to chart against, without radio play.

And yes, I will say that streaming is important too, of course it is, but you have to stream something 150 times for it to count as one sale. If we can make use of up to 5 iTunes accounts and spend down all the donated funds ARMY has collected, that will help Jimin chart higher, faster.

The only thing required of you is the time and effort it takes to set up extra iTunes accounts, redeem a gift card code, and click to purchase two songs. It's way less work than streaming for 24 hours straight (though I'll be doing that too, because what is love if not sleep deprivation?)

Star Trek Multi-Pollination Technician Mod

Maxis sims 2 aliens and Star Trek Aliens have one thing in common, they don’t necessarily have powers. Just like sims 2 Aliens, Star Trek aliens are humanoid and can even create hybrids with humans or other alien species. I have made my own Star Trek based Pollination Technical replacement that uses the facial structure of 4 famous female characters from various Star Trek alien races. I used fwiffo’s tutorial from MTS Here which was pretty straight forward and very helpful, so you can easily make your own.

I made this in Fall 2022 for personal use and was asked to upload my Multi PT Set. I’m not interested in making custom pollination technician sets (although I might make another star trek one no promises), and I will not be making a maxis alien version (with the green skin and alien eyes).

Some notes about Multi PT mods in general:

These are a type of default replacement, they replace the Maxis made Pollination Technician.

You can only have ONE Multi-PT Mod in your game at a time.

If you have a multi PT mod and want to switch to this Star Trek Multi PT mod, remove any other Multi PT mod you may have, but keep any alien sims that may have come with the old Multi PT mod in your downloads folder.

Put the unzipped “Noodlebelli_S2_StarTrekMultiPTMod” Folder directly in your Documents/Sims 2/Downloads folder, Inside are 4 named folders for the 4 different characters, and the Multi PT mod itself.

While I’m linking to the Sims I based the pollination techs on, you do not need the sims from the link, only the skin tones I mention and link to are required to download for the aliens babies to show up correctly. Find them after the cut, and the download is at the very bottom.

Meet the races:

Bajoran: Kira Nerys

I used Crunk_Kitty’s Sim on MTS as a base and edited the facial structure for a more flat bridge of a nose. The skin tone referenced is Bajoran light by Crunk Kitty on Mod the Sims. The eyes will be one of the maxis defaults. Once downloaded and extracted, put bajoran light in the Kira Nerys folder in my multi PT Mod.

Trill: Jadzia Dax

I believe I used MistyBlue’s Jadzia as a base, but did edit the face structure to be even more similar to Terry Farrell the original actress's, the super realistic facial structure does look out of place and “alien” in the sim’s world. Any sliders used are “baked" into the sim, so the sliders aren’t needed. The skin referenced is Trill Medium from Crunk Kitty.  The eyes will be one of the maxis defaults. Once downloaded and extracted, put Trill Medium in the Jadzia Dax folder in my multi PT Mod.

Klingon: B’elanna Torres

I used Crunk_Kitty’s Sim on MTS as a base and modified facial structure to more emphasize the forehead and ridges. Any sliders used are “baked" into the sim, so the sliders aren’t needed. Her Skin is included, as the original Klingon skins are not available from the original source anymore. The eyes will be one of the maxis defaults.

Cardassian: Gul Liez

This is actually a completely original sim, I used extra sliders to make the ears seemingly go into the jawline, enhanced the brow line and around the eyes, and a slightly turned up nose. Any sliders used are “baked" into the sim, so the sliders aren’t needed, jut the Cardassian Skin from Crunk Kitty. The male skin will not have the blue in the forehead, just like in the show. The eyes will be one of the maxis defaults. Once downloaded and extracted, put Cardassian Skin in the Gul Liez folder in my multi PT Mod.

A Multi PT Pack

Hey everyone, 

I looked through the defaults for Multi PTs and I couldn’t find the kind of a replacement I wanted in my game. So I made one. I tested it in game and it seem to be working fine. Let me know if there is something wrong. 

Here are the reasons why I made this pack:

I wanted to have an all male pack because I feel that’s more lore appropriate.

I preferred them to all have different hair colours to increase the chance of different hairs in their offsprings. 

I made them with the elven and alien templates and modified the too extreme features because they are truly hard to get rid of. I was gonna leave the huge eyes but they look pretty bad when it’s not alien eyes.

I use the default alien skin tone replacement made by @lilith-sims here, which is what the Green Boi is using. 

The rest of them are using, again made by Lilith-sims, Colourful Feathers set’s Teal, Lavender and Mint skin tones. You need the set for these guys to work properly. 

I use Phobia’s alien eye default and that is the eye you see on the pictures. You don’t need it for them to work but here is the link in case if you like to get them.

Hello! You could download an 8 PT mod, take the mod package from that and the sim packages from the other two mods, and replace the GUIDs in the mod package with the GUIDs of the sims. Here's a multi-pt mod tutorial that might help if that sounded confusing.

I said a few weeks ago that I didn’t really care they were unlinked but apparently I do. I can’t seem to find a guide telling you how to do this (in SimPE) which includes doing it with the PTs, and I cannot figure it out by myself :’(

English Commentary on a Chinese LuaSTG Tutorial Pt 3

This part is about the remaining videos.

Content: There's about five parts / sections to this video.

The first part / stretch from 0:00 - 1:29 seems to be about symbols you can use in LuaSTG. If you've read the other posts, you'll know that the subtraction sign can be used to signify negative number, but it can also be used as a subtraction sign in formulas.

The other symbols are exactly as you can see.

+ is addition

*(asterisk) is for multiplication

/ (slash) is for division

Circular brackets are... circular brackets. In case you've forgotten high school maths, it's related to that "order of operations" stuff. I think it's also brought up to establish "this program uses circular brackets and not square brackets (that other programs might use)

I'm not too sure what ^ means, however. Likewise with %. My maths knowledge is pretty rusty... this unironically might be my first application of the topic since finishing high school ;\

I do remember (vaguely) something about percentages really being fractions. Maybe % is related to division in that case? I think ^ also means "to the power of". To the power of what? Dunno, just look it up. I told ya, I don't know maths.

The second part starts at around 1:57. I actually don't know what's happening in this part, so I'm skipping over it. A gentle reminder that the complicated setup in their example is because they're using the legacy LuaSTG editor. The Sharps editor can replicate the same thing wiht far less hassle using the "Create Simple Bullet Group" node (a node missing from the legacy editor)

At 03:00 (part 3 of the video) they bring up infinite loops. I'm not gonna make specific commentary on this because this is very basic level stuff. Here's a very useful link that can explain the concept better than I can. It's specifically for Danmakufu but the concept remains exactly the same. tl;dr don't make the game shoot bullets infinitely without pauses in between, and don't make the game wait infinitely either.

At 4:00 is part 4 of the video. I'm not actually sure what the topic is. I was certain it was about interval (reminder that interval doesn't exist for Repeat nodes in later editors, so it'd be about Wait nodes), but I actually really don't know. I will just comment on interesting stuff in the examples given.

At 4:52, you can see a formulas used in place of a value (i.e. increment 360/15. 360 divided by 15 is 24. If you put in 24 instead of 360/15 you'll get the exact same result).

At 5:40, you can see the Repeat node + Variable being used to determine the bullet spawning position. You have x%384-192 (value/position x on the grid) then 120 (position y on the grid). It looks like this:

(x%384-192,120)

It's basically taking the same concept from the last video (using Repeat + Variable) but instead of applying it to angle, it's being applied to the horizontal position of the bullet).

At 5:55, they use the Repeat with a Variable to increase the velocity / speed of each subsequent bullet in a bullet group. This is an example of another easier feature in the Sharps editor, as the Create Simple Bullet Group node has a Velocity begin + Velocity end feature.

At 6:01 is something interesting. They've placed a Repeat with a Variable instead of a Repeat with a Variable. You have a Bullet node, inside of a Repeat Node, inside another Repeat node. Take a closer look at the Variables; the second Repeat node's variable is ANOTHER variable [i.e. a2's initial value is a1's initial value]

I don't actually know what the tutorial is trying to explain but this process of putting a Repeat within a Repeat seems to be necessary when trying to use a Variable within a Variable. I've actually tried replicating the example with only one Repeat (i.e. use 1 Repeat Node, set Number of Variables to 2, Variables A1 and A2) but this just caused an error.

It seems that if you're going to use a Variable within a Variable, you will need at least two Repeat nodes; one establishing the first variable (A1), and a child node establishing the second variable (A2) that will make use of the first variable.

At 7:05 they go into adding sound. I don't know what else to add, this is pretty simple stuff. The video does conveniently mention which sound effects are the actual "bullet" sound effects (i.e. tan00, tan01, tan02, kira00, kira01 and kira02).

They go into some Random Number Generators. This has been covered in Ryann1908's tutorials already; one in his longer tutorial (where he uses the function to mimic Sakuya's Eternal Meek spellcard) and one in his shorter tutorial (when it's been used to randomly pick a color for Marisa's stars shot). I've also mentioned Ran:Sign before; Ran:Sign is probably the least useful of these, because unlike Float or Int, where you can put a minimum and maximum value, Ran:Sign can only generate two values: either a positive 1 or negative 1. There is one parameter that actually benefits from this: throw it into a Bullet's Rotational Velocity parameter and see what happens.

This is all so basic that even the sparse LuaSTG Wiki has info on it.

This one was actually hard to understand until I recreated the pattern for myself. I don't know if this is exactly what is being said, but for the Chen section of the video:

When they're highlighting the slowest bullets, I'm 90% sure it's to say that these are the first bullets to fire. No, you read that right. The slowest bullets are the first bullets generated in the pattern. The secret sauce to this pattern is that each bullet has a higher velocity than the previous one, thanks to the magic that is Repeats and Variables.

When they're highlighting the fastest bullets, I think it's to mention those are the last bullets spawned. This should be true if we apply the logic from the previous section; if each bullet has a higher velocity than the previous one, the last bullets to spawn HAVE to have the highest velocity / be the fastest moving.

When they're highlight a single wave / barrage, I think it's to mention how the repeats work. With the way they've used Repeat, each wave is 15 bullets each, and the waves are fired 6 times (in 6 different angles).

You can recreate this by copying the same setup, just make sure you add a 2 frame Wait as a child of the first Repeat. It should go:

>Repeat 15 times >>Wait 2 frames >>Repeat 6 times >>>Create Simple Bullet

The Youmu recreation is a bit different. The "slowest bullets being the first bullets spawned" are the same. Unlike the "15 bullet barrage fired in 6 angles" with Chen's attack, it's actually "4 bullets fired from 16 angles" which definitely confused me (when I first saw the video, I assumed it was "16 bullets fired in 4 barrages). Note how they use Repeat + Variables again to decide the X and Y coordinates of the pattern.

There's a small section after the Youmu recreation. I do not know what it's explaining.

In the final section of the video, they show off a button that no longer exists in the Sharps editor that used to be in-between Pack Project and Run Project. From the design of the symbol, it seems to have been related to the Stage nodes?

Content: I really couldn't tell you what this video is trying to say. The first part uses some sort of "If Else" node which is something I'm especially out of my depth on. All I know about the "If Else" node is that you can use it to do multi-phase spellcard attacks (like most Stage 6 final spellcard attacks a la Miko or Shinmyoumau).

The rest of the video seems to be about making the Chen recreation more complete. They make two Repeats of Chen attacks (the first repeat is the one we saw before, with Orange bullets; the second repeat has Green bullets and fires in the opposite direction by changing the increment to a -7 instead of a +7). The attack also seems to have more RNG, as a Ran:Float has been added into the formula (a=Ran:Float(0,360), increment 7 -> a1=a, increment 60)

Content: The last video is a bit confusing. Considering the example shown at the end, where Mokou is firing two streams of bullets (the green bullets moving in a counter clockwise direction, and the blue swords in a clockwise direction), my guess is that it's about running two separate Repeat + Variable streams of bullets.

I read this in a different tutorial, but you can basically run multiple tasks at the same time. This knowledge can be very helpful if, for example, you ever wanted to make a boss use the Move To / Move By node while also firing bullets. I *think* that they're saying "you can do these two streams at the same time if you run them in different tasks". But I'm not 100% sure that's the case.

And to be honest, I don't think that, if that is what they're saying, that it's necessary. At least it's not for newer versions of LuaSTG. I know for sure that you could run those two streams (purple and cyan) in the same Repeat node if it was the Sharps editor. All you'd have to do is establish two Variables in the Repeat node, then give the separate Bullets / Bullet Group a specific node. Put both bullets as the child of a Repeat node and bam. That's it.

The last thing I'll note is that this video was last made in 2019. So the chances of a continuation seem slim...

Conclusion

So that was one tutorial down. There are actually three other Chinese tutorials, though this tutorial is the only one that is in a video format. The other tutorials, especially the one about coding in LuaSTG are harder to follow just bc of this difference.

If I get the time, I'll try to do commentaries on the other tutorials. I at the very least, plan to cover ONE of the other Chinese tutorials, since I've been able to follow that specific tutorial very easily (it's this one. It has animated gifs and while it goes into some complicated concepts, it's been more rewarding to follow than the others).

Unfortunately, according to Simgaroop’s excellent DIY multi-PT tutorial, geneticized skins cannot be used for PTs, only custom ☹️ This is conceptually abhorrent to my gameplay, but...

Fortunately, I think the workaround I’ve come up with is going to be even better - Cyjon’s No Alien Pregnancy + Teleporter Shrub-induced “cut scene” made by me on an “alien” lot (hint: “forest elves”) + SimBlender-induced pregnancy of the “abductee.” Better for storytelling, and this way I’ll be able to make sure the genes of as many elves as I like are actually used instead of relying on the randomness of built-in alien pregnancy. And, of course, the skins can be geneticized between 1.01 and 1.99 and on the offspring will be sensibly heritable for future generations. WOOOOO!
