"Sure, of course I'm fine." Cyrus grunted, trying to pull himself up to support his back. He would be fine in a couple of minutes, but it didn't help stop the pain he was dealing with.

The only tell to the blue boy's approach had been the slight jingling from the bell around his neck, it being muffled by the fabric of his hoodie where it dangled from what looked to be a repurposed dog collar. He had heard that there were goth kids that hung around back of the school (or rather he had been 'warned' by his new neighbor Butters) and his dad had told him to make friends, so people who shared the same mindset as him seemed like a good place to start.

There only seemed to be one at the moment, the bright shock of red hair a stark contrast to the drab exterior of the school behind them, but one was hopefully enough to sate his dad's nagging. Cyrus didn't say anything as he approached, simply pointing to the cigarette in the other boy's hands as a means of asking if he would share. Common ground was how one made friends, right?
