"Just a minute!" Gemini shoves a gift box underneath their desk and sweeps the decorations into a drawer, pausing to pick up every stray ribbon or charm. Gemi would have rolled their eyes had they had use of them.

"Who is it?"

"It's..me?"

The drawer rattles as its slammed shut. Even with the vague announcement, both well knew who was behind the door and shared equal excitement as they did fear.

"Y/n? That is you, correct? What are you waiting for? Come in."

Gemini turns in their seat as you enter the room, kicking a tree ornament out of sight. "Hello, dear. It's so good to see you."

"And to what do we owe the honor of a visit from our earth born angel?"

"Well, I know you may not celebrate the holiday and all considering your demons and all, but I really wanted to get you something for Christmas. I couldn't get you a real one, but I hope this will be enough."

You pull out and put a red bow on your head. "Me."

"Oh! Well that's.. aha.." Gemini falls flat on their words; the flares of their heart scorching their vocal cords and rendering their half of their brain to mush. You're too adorable for their and your own good. In a way, they had already claimed their present when bring you home, but for you to give yourself to them was mind rotting. Even their other half was left speechless, although momentarily.

"Maybe this holiday isn't so pointless afterall~"

"Gemi, now isn't the time for that." Gemini warns, clearing their throat as they address their attention to you. "Sparrow, that is the greatest gift we could ever receive. Physical items could never fit the hole your absence would leave. We both love you so very much."

Their wings envelope your smaller frame as they cradled you in their grasp, fingers smoothing over your skin as you receive a kiss from two pairs of lips.

"I suppose I have to agree on that note. Never part from us, Phoenix. or else. Happy holidays."

christ sometimes I just wanna. steal a time machine & go back & sit down next to my 9-year-old self and just like. let them pull out their pokemon card binder & gush about their holographic gyarados or whatever.
