Because the Ooze was designed to make super soldier mutants, it helps its host adapt to the conditions around them. After a few years, it started to double-mutate him to adapt to his new harsh environment, making him very raptor-like.

Because of his double mutation and trauma of past events, Donnie is at risk of going into a feral “Savage” mode like Raph

Has two modes— ‘Hunter’ and ‘Scientist/Alchemist’

While hunting Donatello relies on his instincts. Becomes very aggressive and territorial.

He uses an ankylosaurus skull and other dinosaur parts as his battle shell and protective gear while hunting

When he isn’t hunting, Donnie is trying to reinvent necessities to make living in a prehistoric era a bit easier with what materials are available to him

Dino-Tello’s concept was inspired by a similar 2003 TMNT episode where they go to the past, 2003 Leatherhead, Tarzan, and the anime series ‘Dr. Stone’

His concept is meant to emphasize Donnie’s other strengths beyond technology— such as his Super-intelligence, his close-combat fighting skills, and ability to communicate with other creatures (as shown in the Todd Scouts episode)

He and his brothers tame a triceratops and name him Zog, who was both a pet and steed

For one reason or another… Donatello is the last turtle standing

Her 12 version is a very tiny bean with a bit more of lore! She's a failed kraang experiment that runned away and it's adopted by the Hamato Fam during the arc when they search the mutagen canisters (forgot the season now-).

She's 9 years old, extremely strong physically and it's non-vocal for most of the time. She's a little cryptid with big eyes who's like causing chaos and is closest to Raph and Mikey, who actually found her in the first place. She also eats Kraang because why not-

With the official confirmation from Paramount that there IS going to be an official TV series based on Mutant Mayhem, Tales of the TMNT, that will bridge the gap between MM and it’s sequel(two seasons long), what’re your thoughts? Do you think this’ll hamper any hope for a potential third season of Rise, or do you feel that people shouldn’t be harsh on it and appreciate it for being it’s own thing(I’m very much the latter lol)?

LONG post is LONG, but I really wanted to drive home the importance of this.

I don’t really have an opinion on the Mutant Mayhem show, TBH. I knew it was coming, because Nickelodeon is banking on MM to be a big hit, and it’s not that weird for them to try and squeeze as much money as they can from a new IP. The fact that this new series is going straight to paramount plus and not on Nickelodeon’s main channel is…confusing (Unless it’s actually going to Nickelodeon, in which case, so what? If Nickelodeon can have THREE different versions of SpongeBob airing on their channel, then I don’t see what excuse they can make for not having two versions of the TMNT out simultaneously. They’ve done it before too. 2012 and the Bay films were happening at the same time).

As for Rise, I don’t think hating on Mutant Mayhem or on its related shows is going to do much good. If anything, it’s going to create a divide between incoming fans of Mutant Mayhem, older Rise fans, and Rise fans that are looking forward to more TMNT content. If the show does air on Nickelodeon, it’s not like the kids watching it are going to know the discourse surrounding Rise. Review bombing, hating, and leaving bad faith reviews on anything Mutant Mayhem related isn’t going to bring Rise back. And it’s going to give Rise fans a bad rep, which will end up hurting Rise more, because no one would want to give a show a chance if its fan base is seen as toxic.

Trust me, no one wants Rise of the TMNT to come back more then I do, but I’m not going to go around discouraging or hating on on anyone that is excited for Mutant Mayhem. It’s one thing if you watch and don’t enjoy it, or choose not to support it, I’m not here to force anyone to do anything they don’t want to do, and it’s normal for people not to like something sometimes. If it isn’t for you, it isn’t for you. That happens. But hating it with a passion and posting that everywhere does nothing helpful for Rise.

The best thing would be if new TMNT fans and Rise fans came together to save the show. If more people knew about Rise, the movie, and if enough content keeps the fandom alive, raises interest in the show online, and keeps the show/movie from being fading away into the background, there’s a chance. The bigger the following Rise has, the more people asking for its return, the higher the chances. The more alive it is across social media, the better. What we need more then anything really, is visibility. Not enough people know about Rise. Danny Phantom still has a big following to this day, still has more people giving it a chance because the fans love it enough to keep it going. And people are seeing that. Watch Mojo released a video recently about shows that deserve to come back and Danny was on that list. Spectacular Spider-Man still gets new videos made of it all the time, and the fans STILL, even after all these years, ask for more.

We’re in an interesting position. I don’t think ANY other fandom has ever said, “Heck it! We’ll make our OWN season! Ya JERKS!” So support each other, keep asking for more Rise, keep making art, social media posts, videos, ask Cinema Wins and Cinema Therapy to review the movie, keep sharing and signing the petitions, recommend it to people, anime fans, non TMNT fans (I wasn’t a fan of TMNT until Rise), animation fans and so on. Always ask for the original producers, Ant Ward, Andy Suriano, writers, cast and crew to come back. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. The more people make an effort, the better. And don’t give up. Giving up is the one true for Rise fade away.

TLDR: No, hating on MM will NOT help Rise. BUT! Continuously making efforts to bring back Rise, support each other, raise awareness/visibility, will.

What were some of your favorite Risetober art pieces you did this month? Do you have any favorite Risetober art you've seen from others?

So far, I got a few more prompts for me to finish post-Risetober 2023 and when all the prompts are done (including some extras), I'll reveal what my top 10 favorite Risetober pieces are overall.

For now, here's my favorite 3:

Stars - a redraw of the Life Mission DTIYS drawing I did many months ago and was planning to do it for the Rise Week challenge but never gotten around to do it. It wasn't until I added this prompt to my Risetober list that I knew I wanted to draw something related to Life Mission: Save My Brothers by @daedelweiss, and this is the idea I have in mind. I guess you could say that after many months, there are a lot of improvements in the redrawn version.

Masks - another redraw of a DTIYS drawing I did many months ago. Fun fact; I wasn't planning on ever giving it a redraw, but the original idea I have for the Masks prompt (even made it to the colored stage) wasn't working out so I eventually decided to do a redraw of this instead because fuck it, I SHOULD be giving this challenge my best efforts (even if I end up being behind in the end). Did NOT regret it one bit.

Green (LFLS) - yeah, funny story about this prompt. When I first created my Risetober list and added this prompt to the list, I KNEW I had to draw something LFLS-related. Thankfully I also provided a non-LFLS drawing for Green that's less angsty and wouldn't cause trauma.

Significant cuts hits IDW's parent company in a self-described "reset"

IDW Media Holdings, the parent of IDW Publishing (the company behind the Sonic the Hedgehog comics), announced major cuts in an effort to unlock financial stability.

The company terminated their New York Stock Exchange listing, shook up senior management, and slashed entire promotional and editorial departments - around 39% of its workforce.

The newly-appointed CEO characterized the axe drop a "reset."

Background

There's no other way to describe it, the cuts at IDW are significant.

The axe drop was in direct response to a poor balance sheet in a tough economic environment. IDW suffered greatly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and non-publishing segments (like direct-to-consumer games) continued to illustrate repeated quarterly losses.

It's no secret that IDW experienced cash flow issues and various others financial challenges, even though the comic books in particular (like IDW Sonic and TMNT) are significant revenue generators.

The company hopes that these cost-cutting measures will provide $4.4 million USD in estimated annual savings.

The impacted

Marketing, public relations, and editorial at IDW were impacted by today's announced cuts.

Comicsbeat reported that the entire marketing and PR departments, and half of the editorial team, got the axe, with more specific details yet to come. That's 39% of the total workforce.

At press time, @idwsonicnews told us that Shawn Lee, a "designer and letterer on many IDW titles", were among the laid off. He tweeted, "whelp, I'm officially a freelancer now."

Meanwhile, senior management got a shakeup. Former chairman Davidi Jonas replaced Allan Grafman as Chief Economic Officer. Chief Financial Officer Brooke Feinstein was ousted, and Amber Huerta was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

IDW also voluntarily delisted their Class B common stock from the New York Stock Exchange, the largest trading venue in the world; and suspended their reporting status to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company hoped that this will "reduce pressure on limited resources and the Company’s current inability to realize many of the benefits."

Okay, what about IDW Sonic?

Deep breaths.

At press time, there's nothing we know that flags an immediate concern for the IDW Sonic comics. However, as this is a developing situation, and the long-term outlook is uncertain, the forecast can change.

Even though it, and other comic book franchises (TMNT, etc.) continues to generate significant revenue to the publishing unit, IDW will have to enact more critical decisions to remain financially sound.

IDW Sonic editors David Mariotte and Riley Farmer have yet to officially acknowledge the parent company's announcement, but both "retweeted posts related to the layoffs," @idwsonicnews told us.

We have reached out to IDW Publishing for further comment.

I don't follow any specific branch of Christianity, and focus more on my relationship to my lord and savior Jesus Christ!

I want to find more people who can relate. I often feel torn between my sexuality/gender and my faith. I constantly see and hear things about how being queer is a sin, or that God hates people like us for simply being ourselves. I see and hear people claim you cannot be a Christian and also LGBTQ+. On the flip side, I've had people not believe when I say I'm queer and especially non-binary because I'm Christian, as if I can't love Jesus and believe in him while also expressing how I feel inside in terms of gender identity. It makes me feel like maybe Jesus doesn't love or want me, and doesn't find me pure enough to ever enter the holy kingdom of Heaven, being able to meet Him, God, and my deceased loved ones who are now angels.

However, I have learned that Jesus and God loves all of us. Jesus died for human sins, so that we are forgiven and our souls are saved, regardless of sin and imperfections. All He asks is that we believe in Him, worship Him, and try to follow His word- Love. I try my best to live my life with love in my heart and kindness in my actions, to speak the language of Christ and to love thy neighbor. While I am far from perfect, that's okay! He does not ask for perfection, He asks for our faith, our commitment, our repentance, our morality, our good intentions, our just actions, and to spread the universal language of love and kindness, aka the language of Christ that anyone from all walks of life deserves. If we try and we believe, and have good, moral intentions to do good and do right by our fellow humans, that is enough for Him to wrap you with His embrace of warmth and light. LGBT people are not an exception to this. We are made in His image! And we are beautiful, wonderful, perfectly imperfect, children of God. Jesus's saved. Whole and beloved.
