you were laying in your bed silently as rain tapped on your windows. serene and silent… until your phone started ringing you let it until it went silent. you sighed hugging your pillow tighter.

until your phone started ringing again, with a frustrated sigh you picked up your phone.”hello?” you said with a scratchy voice. “why you not answering the phone?” “because im sleeping? something you should also be doing instead of waking me up at-“ you look at your screen reading 3 am “ 3 am in the morning”

he sucks his teeth “didnt mean to wake you but drop the attitude” “again its 3 am im just tired, sorry” you sigh laying down.” “mmm all good i was the one that woke you up, im sorry”

“so why did you call?” you say yawning. “well i couldn’t sleep and i thought you’d be up” you hear him sigh loudly. “ fine come over” before you could say anything else you heard your front door being unlocked.

you hang up as you hear his steps near your door. “hey ma” “hey con” you watch as he takes off his sweater and puts his keys down climbing into bed next to you. “how was your day?” you ask as he burrows into the crook of your neck, wrapping his arms around you placing his hands at the small of your back.

“boring, i missed you. so does prince, why dont you just come live with us?” you hear the pout in his hushed voice. “ connie we have discussed this before, we are still early in our relationship and we both need our own spaces. i can sleep over tomorrow night if you’d like?”

“yes please” he says in a baby voice. you laugh at him. “ how was your day ma?” you take a deep breath “ i did 5 clients and 12 sets of press ons, really busy” he peppers kisses all over your neck “proud of you” you hum in acknowledgment as you both drift off to sleep.

PRESS ON NAILS THAT LAST: FAITH’S GUIDE

Press-on nails have a reputation for being weak, flimsy and not lasting. I used to have my problems with press-on nails until I learned this technique.

YOU WILL NEED:

Press-on nails

Nail glue

Nail file

Nail cutter

Cuticle pusher (optional)

Cuticle cutter (optional)

Warm water (optional)

PREP

Trim your nails with a nail cutter

Dip your hands in warm water and let them soak for like five minutes

Pat your hands on a towel until they are damp

Use the cuticle pusher to slightly push your cuticle back

Use the cuticle cutter to TRIM your cuticles

After this use the nail file to rub all over your nail, this will buff your nails and create a smooth surface

APPLICATION

Measure each press-on nail to your nail to see which one fits the best

Set out the nails in order

Put a dot of nail glue on your nail

Put two dots of glue on press on nail

#faithtip place the nail on a surface with the inside of the nail with the glue on it facing you. Place your nail that has glue on it on the press-on nail(kind of like a magnet) the press-on nail should be attatched to your nail as you lift your hand and adjust where necessary

OR apply the press-on nail at an angle like so:

These nails usually last me a week and bit until they start detaching (due to the amount of water used on your hands overtime) and don’t come off easily AT ALL.
