Dying from seemingly incurable disease which makes their parents/guardian sad (If your parents are alive, you must pay for it by dying yourself)
Adoptive parent/stepparent is THE WORST
Somehow has normal, alive parents:

Shin Ha-ri (Business Proposal, her family is refreshingly normal, right down to her brother being sent out to find her when she's drunk)
Oh Han-byeol (Sh**ting Stars, Again, we know almost nothing about her family, only that she has twin sisters. But she doesn't appear to have childhood trauma.)
Park Yeon-woo (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, her mom being annoyed at her for something that is a crime doesn't count as bad parenting)
Lee Young-joon/Sung-hyun (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, his trauma comes from a kidnapper, his parents faced a pretty impossible situation and did their best. They clearly love their kids)
Baek Hyun-woo (Queen of Tears, nothing wrong with them out of the ordinary and they are in the drama a significant amount.)
Ha Eun-gyeol (Twinkling Watermelon, very loving parents and the deafness and their reliance on him is not anyone's fault)
*Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned.
***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry.
Uncatagorized due to lack of clarity on parents: Soundtrack #1, Hospital Playlist, Happiness

A Day of Amity: The Friendly Baseball Game Between the Ruling and Opposition Parties
By The Correspondent
At the baseball stadium of Baejae High School on the 13th, the friendly baseball game between the ruling and opposition parties drew the curtains with the first pitch ceremony of Lee Gi-bung, the chairman of the National Assembly at 3:30 p.m.
Both ruling party members in light gray baseball uniforms and opposition members in white uniforms entered confidently, showing off their high-end baseball shoes with shiny metal cleats, but they looked nervous on the other hand. Perhaps because of this, the score was 0-0 until the second inning.
On this day, as many as about ten thousand spectators gathered to watch the first baseball game between the ruling and opposition parties. The whole stands packed, and whenever lawmakers who became baseball players made mistakes or played an active role, laughter, cheers and applause erupted from the crowd.
Kim Doo-han, the head of the opposition parties team's cheering squad, vigorously shouted over the loudspeaker towards the crowd. "In the National Assembly, our opposition parties are always beaten by those guys because we lack the number of persons, but as long as we are out like this today, there's no problem……" Then, Kim Cheol-an, the head of the ruling party team's cheering squad who did not want to lose, also grabbed the loudspeaker and shouted, "Let's wait and see!" With her pleasant and resonant voice, the whole stadium burst into laughter.
As the game went into the top of the third inning, Kim Cheol-ju brought a valuable run to the ruling party team. Against this, from the opposition parties team, Kim Young-sam advanced to first base with a walk and even succeeded in stealing to second and third bases in a twinkling.
In the bottom of the third inning, the score between the ruling and opposition parties was 1-1, as Kim Young-sam finally succeeded in sliding into home plate.
The crowd sitting in the high stands cheered whenever the pitcher from the opposition parties pitched strikes, and applauded whenever Kim Young-sam tried to steal bases. On the other hand, they were just cold to the players of the ruling party. Even they were booing the ruling party pitcher, so it seemed that the stands were totally the opposition parties turf(?) on this day.
In one corner of the stands, Agriculture Minister Chung Woon-gab and independent lawmaker Paik Nam-sik showed quite a bit of fairness by not applauding either side of the ruling or opposition parties. But Nam Song-hak of Liberal Party, sitting next to the two men, made an impressive contrast by sighing "Phew-" with a worried look on his face.
▲The shortstop of the opposition party, Lee Cheol-seung is trying to tag out Yeom Woo-ryang who is running to second base.
In the top of the fifth inning, the opposition parties suddenly began to struggle, and the ruling party team spurred their confidence with the consecutive at-bats. Four players of Liberal Party, Kim Jae-hwang, Choi Yong-geun, Yun Yong-gu and Park Man-won scored four points, outscoring the opposition team 5-1. The ruling party's morale was sky high……and the stands were quiet for a while.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the united team of the opposition parties started to make the desperate offensives, shouting "Lucky Seven." Rep Cho Young-gyu sent Rep Kim Hong-sik to the first base and entered the batter's box. Rep Cho's swing became a home run, which made all the crowd stand up at once. Amid the enthusiastic applause that was pouring into him, he took off his hat and waved it towards the stands like a triumphal general. Meanwhile, the agile young lawmaker Kim Young-sam showed off his own unique stealing technique again. Thus, the score became 5-4.
In this way, the opposition parties team was almost catching up with the ruling party team, but when the seventh inning was over, the ruling party claimed, "We promised to play only the seventh inning with the captain of the opposition parties team." Then, surprised by their sudden claims, the opposition team's captain Kim Hong-sik countered, "Who made such a promise with whom when?"
The crowd watching the scene shouted and booed, "Damn it, here is another "Rounding off,"" "Do you guys think this is the National Assembly building?" and "Play all the games to the ninth inning!"
The ruling party persisted, "Regardless of which side is right or wrong, why don't we just finish the game in the seventh inning?'' and the opposition parties resisted, "The game must continue until the ninth inning. What a stupid thing it is to finish a game with just the seventh inning." In an altercation between the two sides, the friendly match was turning into just a "fight."
As the icterine hue of the sunset began to cast over the stadium in the mean time……eventually, with Called Game declared by the referee, the friendly baseball game between the ruling and opposition parties closed the curtains awkwardly without award ceremonies.
The crowd was scattered, grumbling, "The ruling and opposition parties fight even in ball games."

Serendipity’s Embrace (우연일까?)
I was really excited about this show for a while since it was advertised like crazy and I love Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim So Hyun as actors. After watching this show in one night, I have to say I’m slightly disappointed with how the show went. I expected over the top cuteness, since it was advertised as a pure romance yet I finished a little unsatisfied. Keep reading this post to find out more about the show!
My Rating: 6.5/10
Episodes: 8
Country: Korea
Genre: Just Romance
Aired: July 22nd, 2024- August 13th, 2024
Cast:
Kim So Hyun plays Lee Hong Ju
Chae Jong Hyeop plays Kang Hu Yeong
Yun Ji On plays Bang Jun Oh
Kim Da Som plays Kim Hye Ji
Lee Won Jung plays Kwon Sang Pil
Hwang Sung Bin plays Son Gyeong Taek
Synopsis:
The synopsis of this show is so misleading on MDL (MyDramaList) so here is a proper one. Lee Hong Ju was seen giving love letters to Kang Hu Yeong, but don’t be mistaken, those love letters were from Hong Ju’s bestfriend Kim Hye Ji. They keep coincidentally meeting each other and interacting, and Kang Hu Yeong slowly forms a crush on Lee Hong Ju. However, he ends up moving to the US without telling anyone.
10 years later he is back in Korea for business, and he somehow stumbles across Lee Hong Ju again at a cafe during a blind date. Thus continues their story 10 years later and we wonder if Kang Hu Yeong’s first love will finally come into fruition?
This drama was adapted from the webtoon “Uyeonilkka?” (우연일까?) which was written by Nam Ji Eun (남지은) and illustrated by Kim In Ho (김인호).
Beware of Spoilers Moving Forward!
What Episode did the Main Couple Start Dating?
Hong Ju and Hu Yeong start to date in Episode 5. Hu Yeong confesses and kisses Hong Ju in Episode 4, however, she’s extremely flustered and keeps trying to avoid him. Hye Ji and Hong Ju talk in episode 5 about how making relationships complicated isn’t necessary since you never know what will happen and what will hurt them, so they should go for it. Hong Joo also has a dream that night where she sees Jun Oh is leaving and she tells him to stop showing up in her dream, and then Hu Yeong enters the dream and he says he’s going back to America and that she won’t stop him, and then he asks one last time if he really wants her to go. After this dream is over, Hong Joo decides she should just go for it, and tells Hu Yeong that she doesn’t want him to go back to America and kisses him.
Hong Joo’s Past
I thought they would elaborate more on this. However, the plot point is just there to show her fear of being abandoned. They don’t add any more to this topic. I was hoping to see why her mom abandoned her, and what her aunt and uncle did after one of the scenes where they show them talking about what to do with her because the aunt is pregnant. Yet, they never go back to it. It felt disappointing to be honest that it was never explored more.
Misunderstandings?
There are some misunderstandings between Hong Ju and Hu Yeong in episode 7. This is when Hu Yeong’s mom stirs up shit saying that he changes girlfriends too much and she’ll end up getting hurt if she stays with him. Hu Yeong also finds out that she might be working on Jun Oh’s animation project for his book and was butt hurt that she never told him. Yet, Hong Ju gets mad that he was mad about that because she doesn’t believe that he should care or that he saw how much she liked Jun Oh.
This gets solved literally a few scenes later when Hong Joo watches two students escape from the bushes, that Hu Yeong was there during the time she escaped school to go to confess to Jun Oh and saw her cry and dread over him before. Hu Yeong also learns that she has a fear of people who leave her behind without telling her why or saying goodbye, which is why she kept putting her distance from him and always saying goodbye, since he left the last time without saying bye.
Love Triangles?
LOL. This show is a fat love triangle/ square/ pentagon? Hong Ju likes Jun Oh, but Hu Yeong likes Hong Ju, and Hye Ji likes Hu Yeong and then I’m pretty sure Kwon Sang Pil likes Hye Ji. However, it's done very decently and doesn’t make it a big deal, if anything it just makes it more amusing.
A little love for the 2nd Couple
The 2nd couple in the beginning I didn’t care for. However, by the end they stole my heart. I actually enjoyed their story more than the main couple because I was giggling, kicking my feet and flailing my arms in the air when Gyeong Taek finally confessed to Hye Ji. It was such a funny, yet cute moment for someone who struggled with showing his feelings outwardly. His stuttering and hiccuping and then screaming I love you three times, was just so cute.
Then, when he finally agrees to let their relationship be known and he puts her heel on her feet, and grabs her hand and looks straight into her dad’s eyes to say “Abbu-nim, I'll take her”, and her dad at first says in a half angry voice “my daughter?” And then says super happily, “take her” and he picks her up princess style and runs away giggling that the dad accepted them, was just so funny and cute.
Serendipity’s Embrace Ending
The show ends with a sweet scene of Hong Ju meeting Hu Yeong at the airport to accompany him on his trip to America. She uses up all her vacation days she has saved up to go with him and be with him for a while as he settles his score with his mother regarding the lawsuit.
Serendipity’s Embrace Review- A Very Generic Romance Story
I give this show a 6.5/10. It is sweet and I love the actors, however, the storyline is overdone. The overbearing mother who is trying to force the ML to go back to America because she wants to be controlling? The FL who fears being abandoned? The Ex that left her without giving her a reason and comes back and wants her back? The romance that is all based on fate/ coincidence? It’s all over-done and has been seen before many times. Therefore, the ideas and concepts didn’t feel fresh at all. The romance itself was also not something I was super excited by, which made it a bit more disappointing. It was just a sweet watch, however, nothing felt unique.

Movie Reviews:
Chris Sawin: The film features some hard-hitting and explosive action sequences that will rightfully cater to fans of the genre. The battle in the basement of the apartment building, where we see Nam-san use a shotgun to blast his way through some of the doctor’s ‘enhanced’ individuals, is a total exhilarating blast. Ma Dong-seok has been a powerhouse for most of his career post Train to Busan, but he sends people flying whenever he throws his fist or pulls the trigger. _Badland Hunters_ also has to break a record for most decapitations in a film.
**Full review:** https://bit.ly/bdlndhntr
MovieGuys: Badland Hunters does something things well, others just passably.
Action is wall to wall and well choreographed.Special effects are excellent. Characterisations are solid if predictable and the acting is not to be sniffed at.
However, the story is unremarkable, with a climax that feels, well, anti climatic.
In summary, an okay but hardly exceptional watch, that would have benefited from more creativity on the storytelling front.
Ritesh Mohapatra: “Badland Hunters: A Visually Striking Action Spectacle with Narrative Shortcomings”
In this post-apocalyptic action thriller, Badland Hunters, while suffering from a repetitive and clichéd plot and uninteresting characters, excels in stunning hand-to-hand choreography and scintillating action set pieces. The film benefits greatly from the expertise of its veteran stunt coordinator turned director, known for his work on Train to Busan. Commendable world-building, visionary concepts, and excellent VFX are hindered by conventional writing. The short, crisply edited runtime avoids unnecessary elements. Don Lee’s exceptional portrayal of Nam-san, with exhilarating action sequences, overshadows the film’s narrative weaknesses, making it a guiltily satisfying popcorn-worthy entertainer, particularly for adrenaline enthusiasts.

In an interview conducted with the pictorial, Ahn Jae-hong expressed his affection for the work, saying, "The story that I can relate to in my daily life is so fun and rich, but I wanted to feel the freshness and dark fun of facing a character I've never seen before."
