Pastel is an Ink who was originally intended to be a swap au of my other main variant , Encre , but ended up becoming his own thing entirely over the course of a rp with @nashdoesstuff ! This is also their oc Crest's goofy husband <3

Base info :

~ They/He/It/Art neos

~ Demiaro/ace ! Has only canonically had 2 love interests , Crest and someone else long before

~ Been here *around* as long as the multiverse itself has

~ Undiagnosed but definitely neurodivergent , most likely audhd

Design notes :

~ The ring on his finger is his wedding ring w Crest . He also used to have two on his sash , but keeps them somewhere else now .

~ Has gray lines beside his eyes ( somewhat visible in the ref ) going to his cheeks and ending in a point

~ Generally , his colors are more faded than Og Ink because , Pastel !

~ The darker gray part on his chest is a second sash , securing the main one and holding Broomie , though he usually doesn't carry Broomie with him since it's a bit of a hassle . His vials are also held on the inner side of the main sash now

~ The embroidery on his outfit was done by himself

~ When his eyelights change , so does the tint on his eyesockets

~ You will Never see him wearing shoes

sorry for not wanting to watch yet another series where even when the black woman lives she’s still “sacrificial” in her love.

i’ll never believe that anyone should come before one’s own kids.

however,

i feel sorry for season 2 athena who watched her involuntarily-high-on-LSD boyfriend stand on the ledge of a firehouse in hopes to be reunited with his family if he just stepped off and died. i feel sorry that athena offered to shoulder the burden with him.

i feel sorry for season 2 athena who was so excited about may’s homecoming dress but once she realized how uncomfortable her boyfriend was, dialed back because she always cautious of the sensitivity surrounding his lost children.

i feel sorry for season 2 athena who asked bobby to move in to her house because she knew that the idea of another family, an instant family scared him but took that leap of faith anyway.

i feel sorry for season 5 athena who noticed her husband had the weight of the world in his shoulders so she decided to hesitantly offer up the idea for them to take the honeymoon they never had only for him to not say yes.

i feel sorry for season 7 athena who had to hear her husband say in what they both thought were their last minutes together on earth that he never deserved her, but he kept building a life with her anyway.

i feel sorry for season 7 athena who verbally expressed to her husband that she was concerned about his odd behavior and how she continues to fear his actions but stays anyway because she hoped she could love him enough to make him want to stay.

i feel sorry for season 8 athena, clueless to the fact that her husband has been dying for hours, would not have gotten a chance to say goodbye to her husband had his firefighter not called her to walk down that tunnel. i feel sorry that athena begged him to stay with her i feel sorry that athena had to be blindsided then watch him die in agony.

bobby’s mental health struggles over the course of the series are understood and are at zero fault of his. and we know that athena never held that against him. she herself has referred to him as perfect.

it doesn’t make sense that them both being first responders that either would leave the decision of their final resting places up to their significant other. i feel sorry that athena had to carry that burden of looking/thinking of something in the first place.

after 8 seasons of this, we know the seasons (er, episodes) are written in a vacuum. but i do wish if we were doing the whole “full-circle moment” we should’ve never been witness to bobby and athena as not only a couple but THE flagship couple of the series.

season 1 deeply anguished suicidal bobby nash who found a new home at the 118, then curated an A1 firehouse, then eventually went out a valiant hero being shipped back to minnesota to be buried with his family would be beautiful. he could’ve even had a new wife in L.A. who was more of a supporting character and was just an extension of the bobby character. it’s not the best writing to make a woman’s character just about a man but in this scenario it would’ve been palatable.

but that’s not what this series has been. we’ve seen athena pick herself up and put herself back together after divorcing michael. we then learn the backstory of her tragically losing her fiancé in her early-mid 20’s. we see her take leap after leap after leap of faith with bobby, and joyfully so. athena is played by NUMBER ONE on the call sheet. she’s not just a supporting character or an extension of bobby. she’s her own character. her sending him back home doesn’t elicit any positive feelings for me. it makes it feel like athena (and her kids) were just a mere pit stop, a rehabilitation, something to bid his time, until he could get back home to his “real” family. not full-circle at all. something geometric, but i’m not sure what. i don’t know what the proper solution would be as for bobby’s final resting place, and i do wish we never had to find out canonically. but seeing that plane and the headstones did not fill me with peace or closure or any warm and cozy feelings.

if anyone is upset by….*gestures around* all of it that’s totally valid. and if it just specifically the handling of the death and the (lack of) funeral it’s also completely valid and not hysterical at all.

Hellion is a Killer variant who was trapped in SCP-3008 / the 3008 game , for roughly 20 years . He lost his arm pretty early on after attempting and failing to fight an employee attacking him .

He's neutral with Utopia!Dream and Spacey!Ink ( neither from his own au , everyone's just kinda here ) and DESPISES Horror / Friend .

Recently , he's befriended Crystal(Dream) and Gin ( FellSwapX ) ( both rped by Funtime ^^ ) , and in this thing , he's managed to escape with Gin and see the stars for the first time as far as he remembers .

I may post more about him in the future <3

Hurricanes’ Seth Jarvis leans into status as an honorary Harvard grad

When Tripp Tracy was asked to speak at a meeting of the Harvard Club of the Research Triangle last week, he naturally invited the Carolina Hurricanes’ two other Harvard Men to join him. Jack Drury, owner of a Harvard diploma, class of 2023. Seth Jarvis, owner of a “Harvard Alumni” T-shirt, class of not quite veritas.

Neither Drury nor Jarvis could attend because of the team’s pre-playoff dinner gathering, but Jarvis was nevertheless welcome despite his self-proclaimed “Grade 6” education, because if there’s one thing that’s true about the Hurricanes’ third-year forward above all else, it’s that if you try to make him the butt of a joke, even a heartfelt, good-natured one, he’ll find a way to turn it back around on you.

When Drury returned from his Cambridge graduation last summer with the crimson T-shirt as a gift for Jarvis, he never expected Jarvis to cut off the sleeves.

He never expected Jarvis to make it his undershirt and wear it under his shoulder pads every single day of the season. For every practice. Every game. Every postgame interview.

“I thought, there’s no better way to put it to use than cut it into a tank top and wear it under my gear,” Jarvis said.

Seth Jarvis. Harvard alum. The shirt says so.

“There have been a few people who have seriously asked me if I went to Harvard,” Jarvis said, “and they’ve obviously never had a conversation with me.”

The Hurricanes have always had a strong connection to Harvard, through Tracy and his youth teammate and future front-office executive Jason Karmanos, through players like Craig MacDonald and Craig Adams.

They’ve had players from the rest of the hockey-playing Ivy League schools as well, other than Brown: Jeff Hamilton (Yale), Kevin Westgarth (Princeton), Lee Stempniak (Dartmouth), Riley Nash (Cornell). Now Drury. And, apparently, Jarvis.

“I think it’s been awesome,” Tracy said. “I would have liked to have had him on the roster.”

Even within the hockey world, it’s hard to imagine two teammates as different as the goofy Manitoban and the cosmopolitan Harvard grad becoming so close. Jarvis left home at 14 to play junior hockey in the Western Hockey League and was in the NHL by age 18.

Drury, scion of a prominent hockey family, spent two years at Harvard and another year overseas in Sweden; even though Drury is two years older than Jarvis, Jarvis has played more than 100 more NHL games than Drury.

The two are akin to brothers as much as they are friends or teammates, so when Drury gave Jarvis the shirt, it was with the best of intentions. Still, give Jarvis an inch or two, he’ll take all 200 feet, same in the dressing room as on the rink.

“I got it for him hoping he would wear it,” Drury said. “Using it as the undershirt, I love that. I didn’t know he’d do that. Once he started to do it, I thought it was awesome. He’s a character. But you couldn’t have a better guy around the room.”

Every single day, the shirt goes into his laundry bag to be laundered with the rest of the team’s base layers, an old-school throwback amid the sweat-wicking, high-tech gear.

By now, seven months into the season, as the Hurricanes head north for Thursday’s Game 3 against the New York Islanders with a 2-0 lead in their first-round series, the T-shirt should probably be in tatters. It looks just fine. Other than the missing sleeves.

“It’s hung on,” Jarvis said. “It’s high quality. Only the best at Harvard.”

At the end of the regular season, when Jarvis sat in on the Bally Sports broadcast with Tracy and Mike Mansicalco while sitting out Game 82, he told Tracy he would have liked to major in “micro-macro engineering” at Harvard, which sounds like a typical Jarvis malaprop, mishmashing economics and engineering. But it also could very well be somebody’s bespoke “special concentration” in Harvard’s engineering school, studying “theories of engineering principles” or the “interactions between microscopic innovation and large system models.”

Jarvis, with his elite hockey IQ and even quicker wit, may be more evidence that you don’t have to be book smart to be smart. He plays up the dopey-goofball angle because it gets laughs — “There’s still a lot of stupidity going on throughout my day,” Jarvis said — and won the Josef Vasicek Award this season for his quotability, but he’s the son of two educators, and there’s a spark that animates both his personality and his game, burning bright under all the self-deprecating humor.

“He plays a little dumb, but he’s pretty smart actually,” Martin Necas said. “I’m positive. He’s pretty smart. He just makes himself look like it on purpose, sometimes.”

Watching his game grow over the past two seasons, as he spent last year becoming a two-way player and this season reaping the rewards, it’s fair to wonder what would happen if he applied himself in the classroom as he has to his hockey career. Who knows what might be possible.

“It’s never too late,” Drury said. “He plays it up a little bit but he’s smarter than people realize. He’s got a good head on his shoulders.”

And the T-shirt over his shoulders to sort-of prove it.
