So I love the concept of eyes of heaven. A multi part crossover of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. But the game is lacking in a lot of departments i should know, I love video games and studying game design after all. Also I platinumed the game on the PlayStation. The UI is a nightmare, all the fighting moves are Jojo references/ quotes, sure the “Ora Ora” that Jotaro has is a given but excuse me for not remembering what “the hell is your problem” does for Josuke 8 in the middle of battle. The button maping is just horrible for some characters, mainly old Joseph he has a whole button that isn’t used and in order to use hamon breathing you need to hold down two other buttons. There are terrible tutorials, an unskipable one always acures when you open the game…

But one of my biggest gripes is with the story. I know that Jjba is mostly focused on fights and the crazy powers, but I would like the story to be more then just: our companions are being revived and being turned against us! Save them using a corpse Time travel to another part! Find and team up with the jojo, fight the characters of that part! Find a new corpse part, get in the Turtle. repeat until all the Jojo’s are here with corpse parts, oops! Have to reclaim them all again! Fight the remaining enemies, free our last allies, fight Dio over heaven, everyone in the Turtle gets brainwashed! Fight your allies again, it’s a trap, Jotaro and Jolyne fight Dio over heaven with des ex machina powers! Finally use the info from Funny Valentine! Win! Everything is better now.

I am oversimplifying the whole thing, it did have some great moments, with Jotaro and Jolyne, old Joseph in part 2, and the part 5 crew reacting to part 3 Polnareff. I do recommend checking it out. But I kinda wanted more….

So I came up with my own reimagining of the story! I would make a whole fan comic about it! But I have collage, other projects, and I keep shifting from thing to thing, I may be into Jojo now but in a few months I’ll be back focusing on something else. But it might happen! For now I have made a bullet point list of stuff I want to happen in the story.

Anyway here have some unorganized bullets on what will probably happen in the story:

An in depth look on what exactly happened in the reality where Dio won

An unclear beginning where no one knows what’s happening and no clear way to travel between time and other realitys, sure they will learn that time space is screwy but they will have a time figuring out how and why

OC’s; will they be new enemies or allies?

Every main jojo having a moment with each other

The world over Heaven redesign, Dio over heaven is cool but his stand is just an alt color palette of his original stand. When Puchi achieved heaven his stand changed to look completely different, why should Dio be spared a stand makeover?

Cameos from other fan works (Jota, Blood sun vendetta, but really really fast, Nathali monet (oc), Crimson Jungle, City living, the 7th stand user, ect)

The hero characters will have to fight different opponents from what they already fought. We already saw heroes part 4 vs part 4 villains, swap it up! Put them in new situations. Already I have Old Joseph vs Naracha and Johnny vs wheel of fortune fight in mind, if they are an opponent the hero has fought before, they either have a new trick or in a different circumstance.

In the desert, Pol is designated by the Crusaders to have a conversation about Nath's struggles with controlling Helja Quartz (why him? Because it is better to avoid any misunderstandings since they speak the same languages). Nath's response to this?

"Pfff, it's a lost cause

I've already tried plenty of things to keep control

But I'm unable to achieve anything"

Note : the last sentence is said in an extremely rude way.

Nath shows her true colours. She is actually pretty pessimistic and has a great lack of self-confidence. She is much more on edge and doesn't hide her bad mood any longer.

Geb is way too fast for Nath's shields. And unfortunately, Helja decides to intervene by herself. She attacks Geb and injures Polnareff in the process. The Crusaders rescue them and Nath tries to stop Helja before she destroys the car.

After Avdol's tentative to lure N'doul and his Stand, Nath is too faraway to really intervene and can only make Helja summon a shield from her fingertips, barely enough to protect Avdol from Geb.

"Fuck I really can't do anything else?"

Thankfully Jotaro decides to chase N'doul right at this moment, drawing Geb's attention away from Avdol.

In the car, Jotaro remembers Kakyoin's words about "emotional support". He mentions the injury of N'doul that was very likely to be caused by Helja's attacks. Is it a good encouraging attempt? Well... At least he expresses some gratitude.

And Nath tries to befriend Iggy :)

5 Questions with Kate Durbin, author of Hoarders

Kate Durbin is a Los Angeles-based writer and artist. Her books of poetry include E! Entertainment, The Ravenous Audience, and ABRA, which won the 2017 international Turn On Literature Prize. Durbin was the Arts Queensland Poet-in-Residence in Brisbane, Australia in 2015. Her art and writing have been featured in the New York Times, Art in America, Artforum, The Believer, BOMB, poets.org, the American Poetry Review, and elsewhere. She has shown her artwork nationally and internationally at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, The PULSE Art Fair in Miami, MOCA Los Angeles, the SPRING/BREAK Art Show in Los Angeles, peer to space in Berlin, and more.

Kate Durbin will be reading from her newest poetry book, Hoarders (published by Wave Books) with special guest Alex Dimitrov, also reading from new work, in our City Lights LIVE! virtual events series on Thursday, May 6th!

Where are you writing to us from?

Los Angeles, California. I’m sitting at my writing desk with a bowl of Lucky Charms.

What’s kept you sane during the pandemic?

I recently bought a View-Master from eBay, and I’ve been looking at all these beautiful old reels, of places like Yellowstone in the 60s, and miniatures of old Disney movies like Pinocchio. There’s something comforting about a little 3-D world inside a View-Master. It gives this feeling of a world continuing on, outside the frame, beyond your vision.

What books are you reading right now? Which books do you return to?

Right now I’m reading Carribean Fragoza’s Eat the Mouth That Feeds You, Kate Zambreno’s To Write As If Already Dead, Sam Cohen’s Sarahland, Henry Hoke’s The Groundhog Forever, Women in Concrete Poetry: 1959-1979, Divya Victor’s Curb, and Ted Dodson’s An Orange.

I return to more books than I can list here! I’m a big re-reader. The most recent is Nathalie Sarraute’s Tropisms, which are beautiful, short, strange meditations on everyday objects and spaces. I have been thinking a lot about objects, how mysterious they really are. And their complicated relationships to people. This object-person question is a thread through my books E! Entertainment, Hoarders, and a novel I’m working on now about my childhood.

Which writers, artists, and others influence your work in general, and this book, specifically?

Gertrude Stein’s Tender Buttons was a big influence for my most recent book, Hoarders. Stein’s book is filled with slippery little objects with a language all their own. In Hoarders, the objects also have a kind of animism, or life to them, and a sense of humor too. For example, there’s a poem filled with surreal Barbies, that are real Barbies that have actually been made and marketed! Walk and Potty Pup Barbie, who comes with a tiny dog with nuggets of fake poop, Claude Monet Water Color Barbie, Tippi Hedren in The Birds Barbie, and many more.

If you opened a bookstore, where would it be located, what would it be called, and what would your bestseller be?

My bookstore would be located inside the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas, somewhere near the shark slide. It would be called McDonald's Chicken Nuggets, and our bestseller would be Jean Baudrillard’s America.

Luna Rossa Carbon by Prada is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. Luna Rossa Carbon was launched in 2017. The nose behind this fragrance is Daniela (Roche) Andrier. Top notes are bergamot and pepper; middle notes are lavender, soil tincture, watery notes, metallic notes and coal; base notes are patchouli and ambroxan.

K edt by Dolce & Gabbana. The opening notes of the composition include sparkling blood orange, pressed Sicilian lemon and juniper berries. The heart reveals the pimento essence combined with clary sage, geranium and lavandin, while the base is woody and masculine combining the cedarwood, vetiver and patchouli accords. K was launched in 2019 and was created by Daphne Bugey and Nathalie Lorson.

Acqua di Giò Profondo by Giorgio Armani is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. This is a new fragrance. Acqua di Giò Profondo was launched in 2020. The nose behind this fragrance is Alberto Morillas.
