Niolamia is a fascinating turtle. Living during the Eocene (probably), it is one of the earliest known meiolaniids. What makes meiolaniids special is not just that they were sizable land turtles, but two other things 1) The massive horn-like scales, primarily those marked A-C. Niolamia has some of the most impressive ones at that, with the A scale forming an almost ceratopsian-like frill at the back of the head and two large, flattened, side-ways directed horns before said frill. 2) The long tail was armored, covered in bony rings with spikes and in some species even a straight up tail club
The two images above are things I put together for the Wikipedia page of Niolamia. The first shows the growth of the species. The small skull is a juvenile Niolamia, originally described as Crossochelys but synonymized by later researchers. The bigger skull (to scale) is the neotype (or holotype?) of Niolamia. Check out an older post for some history on that. The other is a simple sideview of the skull and lower jaw, nothing too fancy.
The bottom two photos aren't mine but those of Victoria Arbour, but show the weirdness and size nicely. The first image shows Niolamia (right) next to Ninjemys (left). While the second picture shows Ninjemys with as I said Victoria Arbour. Which still gives a good idea of how big these animals heads were.

While there might be a few interesting bits here and there: without a detailed description of the material and no consensus on it's taxonomy all these ecology papers on Spinosaurus don't faze me as much. Come back when you know what Spinosaurus is.
Things I wish for Spinosaurus in 2023: a detailed description of the "neotype" material.

okay cool so the Coastal Green Hairstreak (C. viridis) might be a subspecies of the Sheridan's Hairstreak (C. sheridanii) but it sounds like nobody really agrees about this and for a while they thought it was a subspecies of the Lotus Hairstreak (C. dumetorum) and Wikipedia still lists it as a synonym for C. dumetorum and lists "Coastal Green Hairstreak" as a common name for that???

i was reading the beltorchika's children manga and first of all amuro staying with beltorchika that long is bonkers. and they try to make her likable too but that didnt work on me cause i watched zeta. when the 2 months old fetus inside of her uses their neotype powers to shield amuro's gundam from char's beams i stopped reading

Meeting people who are also neurodivergent is doing me good.
Like, sharing life experiences, how we move around us and our hyperfocuses, it's difficult to share my way of thinking and even interests with a neotypical person, It's not impossible, obviously, but the person doesn't understand what you're going through, your quirks, habits, your interests, everything sounds more complicated to the person.
In addition to the prejudice you face about being neurodivergent, all this along with the fact that you generally don't find anyone who has gone through or at least understands what you go through, from the environmental to the emotional sense.
Since I almost didn't find anyone outside of social media who knows what it's like to have a spect, disorder, syndrome like me, Many people are now talking about their difficulties, their lives, their interests, everything, accepting themselves as autistic, bipolar, ADHD and much more, without fear of what they are going through, accepting how the person is, and that should not be judged

The regeneration of the deactivated catalysts is a complex and costly process; therefore, the stabilization of the metal species against sintering and leaching is extremely important.
SMSI has been extensively used to stabilize metal NPs against sintering and/or leaching. In addition to the classical method of high temperature reduction, many new routes have been developed to construction of neotype SMSIs in recent years. Considering the importance of SMSIs in stabilization of the supported metal nanoparticle catalyst, Prof. Liang Wang and Prof. Feng-Shou Xiao (College of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Zhejiang University) have summarized the different new strategies for constructing SMSIs. Their advantages in stabilizing metal NPs and modulating geometric/electronic structure were addressed. Furthermore, the driving force behind the formation of SMSIs were particularly discussed and the current challenges and future perspectives for the construction of neotype SMSIs were proposed.
