I am SO obsessed with the cyborg MC customization options you have no idea. I mean this in the best way possible and with pure love, some of them are so unhinged, and they are my exact preferred flavor of unhinged. I'm usually the kind of person who'd go for the Weird Genetics but I… remote control nervous system. this is beautiful, you have outdone yourself with the options and flavor text /gen
I'm having so much fun coming up with headcanons about my guy! I like to think his neck panel has external metal components he's mildly allergic to (oops! perpetual rash) but also, he has a decoy remote for his nervous system in case anyone gets any funny ideas! So, like, he's capable of making good decisions every once in a while. It's like when the windows screensaver perfectly hits the corner. A rare, beautiful moment.
Anyway, thank you for facilitating the creation of this creature, you've made it really fun to play the MC in this story!
Ahh yay, thank you!! :P
When I was coming up with the power options, I wanted to get as weirdly realistic as possible. Like the real nitty gritty of being a superhuman freak. Which def includes being mildly allergic to the nickel in your neurocomputer hardware (laughing at that).
It's rlly cool to see what people do with the character creator/all the unique and distinct MCs!! Especially people's MC headcanons that spring out of it, so far everyone's little features and details have meshed with canon really well. Fun to see people respond to my writing that way.

your creepy computer science dormmate who spends all day in her room wants to use you to test her thesis. something about "utilisation of neurocomputational interfacing, psychoprogramming, and gender remapping to increase workplace efficiency". you don't quite get it, but she says it's a win-win; she's noticed you're struggling with your ADHD, barely making it through your mathematics classes, and apparently, whatever this is will make you a lot better at on-task behaviour. all you need to do is sign here, so she has proof you consented. the stack of papers is nearly an inch tall, god knows you couldn't get through that much legal jargon. she says it's just a formality, promises that her little experiment won't cause any harm, just a few... side effects, and she's trustworthy, isn't she? you're not exactly friends, but she's been a great help all year, and has she ever lied to you? no, she hasn't. sign the waiver. you blush a little when she calls you a good girl. you're going to be very, very useful soon.

other than being a revolutionary during the jupiter war, and starting before their own augmentation, 621 was a neuroelectrical (neurocomputer? wetware.) engineer and phd student working on a grant from schneider. their research focused correcting signal processing errors due to defects in early gen two augmented humans. they had fifteen specimens they saw on a regular basis who ran the gamut of "unresponsive unless spoken to by their handler" to "default reaction to stimulus is maiming" to "pretty affable if trigger happy merc" to... o'keeffe. who was cynical but charming, dry and intelligent, who developed a distant-but-intimate relationship with 621 until the worsening war pushed them even closer together. 621 puzzled over his augmentation problem for years and, waking up on rubicon thirty years later, is relieved he's no longer in pain but also lowkey irrationally resentful of arquebus for "stealing" the solution to that puzzle.

Writing Prompt #76 Neurocomputer
["How do you feel? Anything abnormal? Give me a read of your vitals." Your colleagues couldn't believe it. You are the first human to connect his own consciousness into a digital environment. Smiles soon turned to panic as they realized that a virus was attempting to hack into that very system.]
Write a short story based on the writing prompt. Challenge your writing abilities and see where your imagination takes you. Brainstorm and share your thoughts to where the story could go.

What are Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs)?
The inventor of the first neurocomputer, Dr. Robert Hecht-Nielsen, defines a neural network as −
"...a computing system made up of a number of simple, highly interconnected processing elements, which process information by their dynamic state response to external inputs.”
Basic Structure of ANNs
The idea of ANNs is based on the belief that working of human brain by making the right connections, can be imitated using silicon and wires as living neurons and dendrites.
The human brain is composed of 86 billion nerve cells called neurons. They are connected to other thousand cells by Axons. Stimuli from external environment or inputs from sensory organs are accepted by dendrites. These inputs create electric impulses, which quickly travel through the neural network. A neuron can then send the message to other neuron to handle the issue or does not send it forward.
ANNs are composed of multiple nodes, which imitate biological neurons of human brain. The neurons are connected by links and they interact with each other. The nodes can take input data and perform simple operations on the data. The result of these operations is passed to other neurons. The output at each node is called its activation or node value.
Each link is associated with weight. ANNs are capable of learning, which takes place by altering weight values. The following illustration shows a simple ANN −
Types of Artificial Neural Networks
There are two Artificial Neural Network topologies − FeedForward and Feedback.
FeedForward ANN
In this ANN, the information flow is unidirectional. A unit sends information to other unit from which it does not receive any information. There are no feedback loops. They are used in pattern generation/recognition/classification. They have fixed inputs and outputs.

The instant the blade come out, Beast quirked a brow - fear was of course beyond him, given the sixteen different ways he could dismantle the girl if she decided she wanted to be violent, and even on the off chance that she could incapacitate him, it wasn't as if death had anything in store for him. Divine judgement, peace, retribution for his sins? Sorry, miss. Wrong house. Only endurance and continuation, in the grand Krakoan tradition.
Tumblr media
But still, what exactly was she - ah.
"Your appreciation for my time is noted." It was an efficient method, he supposed - no barriers posed by the stomach, digestion wasn't a concern . . . and if Shiori ended up with a respiratory infection, or inflamed nasal passages, then it wasn't exactly like it was his problem, now, was it?
"And your observation is quite correct. The time delay between Cerebro back-ups varies depending on the mental pattern in question, but even the speediest of cycles still takes hours between them, to allow for processing. I could have killed you the instant you came in here, and you would wake up none the wiser to what had transpired, provided I did my due diligence cleaning up after myself."
Tumblr media
The cold, distinctly non-hypothetical tone to his voice made it uncomfortably ambiguous just how many times he'd taken advantage of that fact to get what he wanted. But . . . there was something about this young woman, being quite so brazen and willing to take risks in the pursuit of knowledge. Even going so far as to make jokes with him. When was the last time someone had done that for him?
With a roll of the eyes and a grumble, he applied pressure with his pinkie finger around hers in a vague display of a promise, even as he brought up the ocular probe. "So long as you promise to make Essex's life hell. I can't stand the bastard." Breaking the contact as quickly as he had applied it, he sterilised the instrument with a dispassionate hum, and levelled it with Shiori's eye.
Tumblr media
"Incidentally, I lied about the pinprick. This is going to hurt rather a lot."
With an awful click! the ultra-fine needle slid into the vitreous body right through the cornea, pupil and lens, a searing flash of light blasting through half her vision as if an atom bomb had gone off. She had barely a moment to process the excruciating feeling of her eye being all but impaled before the needle withdrew, a few drops of blood dripping from the end of the probe as Beast clipped a data transfer cable into the bottom of the instrument.
He didn't so much as look at Shiori as she reeled from the pain, his eyes focused on the data as it was processed through the Krakoan neurocomputational strands. Blood would pool around her vision like a red cloud, but no lasting damage had been done - just a few drops to blink away, a stinging headache, and an aversion to light to show for it, and even then, only for a little while.
Tumblr media
"Take as long as you need to recover. I'm going to need time to work out exactly what it is that Essex's done here."
Tumblr media
Shiori took the small orange pill in her hand, rolled it around for a second, then casually dropped it onto the table. A small retractable knife, no longer than her pinky finger, appeared in her palm, blade out. The flat of the blade went to work on the offered pill, turning it into a ugly orange-white powder. Finger to one nostril, head bent down, and quick, disgusting inhale eliminated (most) of the pill’s presence.
“Someone should work on making those things strawberry-flavoured, at least,” she joked, dabbing at the edge of her nose to make sure there was no powder left behind. “At least you won’t have to wait too long this way.” Not that she was sure he cared about her being comfortable either.
“If you wanted to do something horrible to me, you probably would have done it already, given the waves of annoyance radiating from you all evening.” She plopped herself into the chair and worked a few of the levers so she was slightly tilted back... and at his mercy.
“You figure it out, you’ll tell me right? No secrets?” She offered a curled pink... in the gesture of a promise? Hard to tell if she was being serious or making another joke.
