“They’re here.”
Running out of the cave, you looked around for the rover, pausing when you saw only Clarke instead. Her eyes fell on Bellamy as his did on her, and you found yourself stuck on the spot, trying to push down the feeling in your stomach. “Need your help!” Pulling your attention away from the two, you saw Jasper holding Raven in his arms. You ran past Bellamy and Clarke, concerned for Raven. “We have to get her inside before she wakes up!”
“Were you followed?”
“Maybe,” Jasper stuttered. “I-I don’t know.”
Bellamy ran forward, taking Raven from his arms and you followed him, trailing behind him. Part of you remembered that only a day ago you’d been tempted to take the chip yourself, not knowing what it would’ve done to you had you. You hadn’t even known it could do this to Raven, and you regretted being so focused on Pike and Bellamy that you didn’t even see Raven and try to help her.
“Clear some space.” Clarke ordered, and you turned, forgetting that she had come in as well.
Sinclair listened, rushing to make some room for Bellamy to set Raven down.
“What the hell happened to her?” Sinclair asked as Bellamy set her down.
“I told you on the radio. Raven is not Raven anymore. None of them are.” Jasper explained panicked. You turned to him, “because of the chip?”
“Yeah…” Jasper answered, “Jaha’s been chipping everyone.”
You shook your head, turning back to Sinclair and Bellamy. “He’s not lying. Jaha and Raven both tried to give it to me after…” Your eyes fell on Bellamy, hesitating with your next words. Pulling your gaze off him, you shrugged; “after everything. Said it would take all my pain away.”
“Jasper and Y/N are right,” Clarke agreed. “I’ve seen it with my own eyes.”
Jasper stomped forward, pointing his finger at Clarke; “I don’t need your help, alright?” Bellamy was quick to stand up, pressing a hand against Jasper’s chest, “just take it easy alright? Explain what happened.”
“Jaha’s using the chip to control everyone. You swallow it and it changes you. You forget who you are and then you see this thing, ALIE only she’s not really there. She made Raven slit her own wrists,” your mouth fell open. Guiltily you stared down at Raven in shame. “She was trying to get it out of her head. I was trying to help her–”
“Okay,” Sinclair stepped forward. “Let’s help her now. Did she say how?”
“She was working on building something. She needed one of our old wristbands, but Jaha destroyed all of them.”
“Wait a second,” Clarke interrupted. She reached for something on her hip, pulling out a container and inside the container she held out what looked like the chip. “Does it look like this?”
“Not exactly.”
Raven stood up, pulling you away from Jasper’s words and punched Sinclair in the face as he tried to grab her. You reached for her yourself but she only swung her elbow back, hitting you in the face and ran out of the cave. “Don’t let her escape!” You yelled out in alarm to Miller and Harper. Reaching the edge of the cave entrance, you saw them hold her arms, using all of their strength.
“I can’t see anything,” she yelled. “It’s just woods! No!”
Following the rest out of the cave, you tried to help where you could at keeping Raven at bay. Obviously the chip gave a false ideal of strength as Raven was struggling with all her might against Miller and Harper, and now Bellamy, and still they were having a hard time holding her.
“If Raven finds out where we are, so will ALIE. She’ll come for her.” Jasper explained, grabbing ahold of Raven. Jasper used this time to press the reaper stick against Raven’s neck, slowly knocking her unconscious as her struggling ceased. “Reaper stick. Last dose.”
“We have to go.” Looking over at Clarke in confusion, you raised an eyebrow. “Why? ALIE doesn’t know where we are.”
“Because I know where we can get a wrist-band.”
-
Stepping out from the back room, you tried to ignore the screams of anger from Raven, it pounding in your head. Instead you decided to focus on what you could do to help her. So turning when you heard Clarke speak, you listened closely; “how the hell do we get that thing out of her head?”
“Working on it.” You nodded at Monty, watching Clarke walk over to Bellamy who was by Clarke’s-not-so-friendly friend, Nylah, from the side of your eye; “I got this.”
“I’ll be over here.”
You heard Bellamy’s footsteps and soon enough he was beside you, crossing your arms over your chest, you tried to ignore the tension you felt. You also tried to ignore Raven’s grunts and screams of frustration. “You didn’t have to have her on gun-point.” You lightly commented, referring back to when you’d arrive at the little cabin.
“You saw her,” Bellamy grunted. “She wasn’t going to let us through and we needed to help Raven.”
“Not everyone is a threat Bellamy.” You said with a bit more force than intended. Turning to him, you shook your head; “I mean I guess they weren’t, at least before your revolution came around, and your ideals changed.”
Bellamy’s face fell at your words, and he paused, unsure of what to say. Shaking your head, you looked in the direction. Part of you felt bad, though Bellamy had done some pretty crappy things, he wasn’t the only one responsible. Contrary to how you were treating him, which was as if it was only him who’d kill the entire army. Soon enough you heard Bellamy shift, and his gaze was on you; “i’m sorry.”
“Sorry doesn’t cut it Bellamy.” You dismissed, turning narrowed eyes on him. “You were willing to let my father die!”
“I wanted to help, I tried to make you lis-”
“After you’d proven yourself to be nothing but untrustworthy.” Bellamy stepped towards you, looking back to see if anyone was listening. Once he was sure no one was, he reached out for you but you pulled your body away before he could touch you. He sighed, letting his hand fall back to his side. “I didn’t mean it.”
“What?”
“That day… what I said. I didn’t mean it.”
Your eyes widened upon realizing what he meant. Feeling suddenly uncomfortable, you took a step away from him. This was all too much, and you liked to think that day never happened even if it did plague your thoughts day and night. Shaking your head, you fumbled for the right words to say. “I nearly took the chip because of you!” You whispered in a rush, making Bellamy’s eyes widen and guilt to flood through. “Not now. Raven is more important.”
-
Running into the back room in alarm, your eyes widened considerably when you saw Raven’s arm bent the wrong way and the wounds on her wrist bleeding. You ran forward, blanking out Clarke’s orders and grabbed ahold of her legs to help keep her down.
“She’s reopened her wounds.” Clarke explained.
“Get away from me!” Raven bellowed, “get away from me!”
“She’s gonna bleed to death-”
“What do we do?” You panicked, running to Clarke’s side to keep the restraints on Raven’s wrists. “I need bandages.” Clarke answered. Bellamy came around the edge, helping you hold her wrist. “I got her.” You nodded at him, signalling Clarke could go get what she needed as you shifted closer to Bellamy to help hold her.
Clarke came back as Raven howled in anger.
“Raven, stop fighting us!”
“ALIE.” Jasper started saying, you looked up at him in bewilderment. “ALIE. ALIE. I know you can hear us? Why are you doing this to her? Let her go.”
Suddenly Raven paused and her voice altered slightly, “i’ll let her go once you give me what you want.” Her head spun around to Clarke. “The technology that Clarke carries, it belongs to me.” Turning to Clarke expectantly, you felt your heart race when her face twisted into anger.
“No way.”
“Clarke, just give it to her.” You raised your voice, trying to get her to listen. “Clarke!” She only shook her head, thoughts rushed through your brain. Shocked that Clarke wouldn’t give up a tiny piece of technology to save her friend. But then again, you didn’t know the whole truth about the piece.
Clarke paused and her face fell; “if you let Raven die, you’ll never have it.”
Raven gradually slumped, all struggles ceasing as she turned her head forward. Your grip on her wrist loosened considerably and you were surprised to feel no resistance in return. “Untie her wrists,” Clarke ordered. And with the help of Bellamy, you easily managed to get the wrist tie off. “Hold her steady.”
Blinking away the frustration you felt at Clarke barking out orders, you leaned down, helping Raven stay still. Clarke raised her foot, placing it against Raven’s dislocated shoulder and pushing against it. Keeping your hands still, you looked away, not liking the sight. You missed the way Bellamy gaze down at you, and choosing to stare in the direction of his chest and squeeze your eyes shut.
When you heard a crack and Clarke grunt, you turned back to see Raven’s shoulder back in place. Letting out a breath of relief, you leaned back a bit. Bellamy moved back to tie up Raven’s wrist again and you stepped away, holding a hand to your chest.
“Clarke,” Bellamy spoke up. “She’s never gonna stop trying to get away. We can’t let her hurt herself again. Someone has to stay with her.”
She nodded; “I’ll take first watch,” Clarke offered. “We’ll take turns.”
“You don’t give the orders, Clarke!” You jumped as Jasper lashed out, but honestly you didn’t disagree.
“Guess someone doesn’t forgive you for murdering his girlfriend.” Raven taunted.
“Jasper, take a break.” Jasper listened to Bellamy, stepping out of the room. Bellamy soon followed after and you felt the awkward tension as it was just you and Clarke. Though, you couldn’t not help but narrow your eyes in Clarke’s direction, and of course she noticed. “Y/N-”
“Jasper’s right, Clarke.” You interrupted, snarling your lip. “You left us. Left us to clean up your mess, while you spent your time with the Commander who betrayed us!”
“Don’t talk about her!” Clarke screamed, stunning you. She panted after her words, stumbling slightly. Composing yourself, you dryly laughed. “You’re not in-charge anymore Clarke, you lost that privilege when you abandoned us.”
-
Turns out Clarke watching Raven didn’t work, so you opted to be next. And that’s how you found yourself, sitting in the chair beside Raven, fiddling with your thumbs in silence. Though, it seemed Raven, or ALIE didn’t like the silence and decided to speak up; “i’m glad you could show up.”
Looking up from your hands, you found Raven’s eyes staring back at you. “I mean I haven’t seen you in so long I was beginning to think you didn’t care.”
“I care…” You whispered, breath quickening as she hit you where you felt the worst right now. Pacing your leg up and down, you turned your head to the side, trying not to listen to her. “I was just bu-”
“Busy, I know.” Raven interrupted, her voice sickly sweet. “What was it? Bellamy again?”
“Raven, i’m sorr-”
“You don’t have to listen to this.” Your head snapped up at the different voice, finding Bellamy walking through the door. He walked in, setting himself in the chair beside you as he tilted his head towards the exit. You knew what he wanted, but you relented. Even if it stung, Raven made a good point and you weren’t about to just abandon her again.
“Oh look, Bellamy.” Raven started, “the two love birds.”
“Raven,” you warned, shifting in discomfort. Feeling Bellamy’s eyes on you, you tried to hide the extreme discomfort you felt. Stuck in a room with a friend that didn’t care for her own safety and was deliberately trying to anger you and the man that had hurt you more times than you could count on one hand, you were finding it a bit hard to breathe. Which was odd, because you hadn’t felt the feeling since when you first landed on the ground.
“Didn’t Bellamy lock up your father right after he told you he didn’t love you anymore?”
Straightening your back, you stared at Raven in bafflement. “How did you…?”
“Y/N, just go.” Bellamy spoke up again.
“Poor Y/N… the girl nobody seems to care for anymore.” Closing your eyes, you tried to cancel out Raven’s words but nothing seemed to be working. “Wasn’t it your own father that put the cuffs around your wrists and locked you up?”
“Shut up.” You grounded out, feeling your throat close in on you, you felt yourself finding it hard to breathe. Your heartbeat quickened considerably and you felt your hands shaking, nothing was making any sense anymore.
“Bellamy doesn’t care for you. Your father doesn’t care for you. I, nor does anyone else cares for you.” She taunted and you felt yourself panting, out of breath. Everything was spinning. You barely noticed Bellamy’s back straighten as he noticed you slowly get worse.
“What were you arrested for again?” You felt everything freeze as you turned to Raven in alarm, willing her not to say the next words. But she continued, a sick smile on her face as she did so. It’s not her. It’s not her. Don’t let her get to you. “Oh that’s right, because you murdered your mother.”
You shot up from your seat, your face red in anger. “Don’t talk about my mother!” Suddenly before you could do more, there were hands on your shoulders pushing you back. Though you couldn’t see straight and couldn’t focus on what was before you. All you could feel was your throat swelling up on you, your breathing falling short and the tears welling up in your eyes. You were having a panic attack.
“Y/N.” Bellamy shouted, “breathe. Listen to me, it’s not Raven talking.”
Slowly his voice could be heard, and you felt yourself being able to breathe but only just a bit. The world stop spinning, with only a few words from Bellamy and he somehow managed to calm you down. But then again, Bellamy had always been good at that. “Y/N, please. You’re giving her what she wants. It isn’t true.” You shook your head, looking side to side as Bellamy tried his best to keep you still. Then suddenly the world cleared as he said his next words; “you’re not a murderer.”
You finally saw Bellamy before you, staring down at you in concern. You saw the Bellamy you use to know, before everything happened. Your eyes fell on Raven behind him, a twisted smile on her face. Breathing heavily, you looked back up at him, feeling safety wash over him. This is what it felt like to be with Bellamy, safe and protected, strong and confident, this is what you’d missed. Bellamy.
His hand fell on your cheek, his thumb caressing your skin. For a moment you forgot everything, everything that had happened, that Raven was just tied up in the bed beside you and that all of your friends were just in the next room. You forget about Pike, you forget about the massacred army and you forgot about Lincoln dying. All you saw was Bellamy’s kind eyes again, all you saw was the Bellamy you fell in love with. His hand lingered on your cheek, trapping you in a trance.
And then Raven coughed and you snapped out of it just as quickly as you fell into it. Flinching from Bellamy’s touch, you stumbled back, flustered. Shaking your head, you straightened your shirt.
“Go,” Bellamy coughed and you were quick to nod, leaving the room.
-
You heard footsteps, followed by Monty and Sinclair entering the room. Setting down the book you’d been looking at, you straightened your back out. “Everybody, let’s go.” Monty ordered, both of them making their way to the back room with Raven. “We’re all set.”
Once you reached the room, Sinclair set down what he’d been carrying on the bed with Raven. “All we have to do is connect her and activate the electromagnet.” He explained as you moved over to help Monty untie her wrist. You grunted in pain, when she shot out her hand, hitting you in the stomach.
“Hold her wrist!”
“I’m trying.” You grunted back, grabbing her wrist for them. Raven’s struggling grew stronger, punching Monty aggressively as he moved back. You grunted when she shot out, managing to hit you again. When you moved back, she started smacking her head against the back of the bed, repeatedly and harshly. You paused when she started grunting loudly, but never seized conflicting pain on herself.
“She’s trying to kill herself,” Bellamy panicked. “Raven stop!” Reaching your hand out, you tried to grab her head but she only banged the back of her head against your hand. Seething in pain, you pulled your hand away, shaking it to numb it. “Please, Raven!” You bellowed, begging her to stop.
Octavia followed your lead, but pressed her hand against her forehead, pushing it against the bed-board to stop her. You moved out of the way as Bellamy pressed his arm against her chest, helping Octavia.
“Stop and i’ll give you this.” Your eyes fell on Clarke as she held on the chip-looking object that Raven, or ALIE, had asked for earlier. The chip seized Raven’s movements, as her eyes zoned in on what Clarke held.
You took this moment to grab the bracelet from Sinclair’s hand, snapping it over Raven’s wrist. Raven immediately started struggling; “no! You lied. You lied!” She screamed. Backing up slightly you watched Sinclair prepare the EMP but Raven’s sudden pleas stopped him. “No please! Please! The EMP will give me brain damage!” Still Sinclair moved on with the procedure. “You know it will! Please.”
“Sinclair,” you whispered. You hadn’t known that was a possibility. Octavia’s eyes fell on you, “don’t listen to her.”
“You know it will, Sinclair. Please, please don’t do this to me, Sinclair.”
“We’ve only got one shot at this,” Sinclair yelled over Raven’s pleas. “The EMP will fry the wristband too.”
“Do it,” Bellamy order.
“Okay, okay.” Monty moved into position ready as Sinclair yelled go, and he followed. You heard the sound of an electrical shock, and looked over at Raven for a reaction. Nothing happened.
“What’s happening?”
Sinclair rushed over to the EMP, looking at it. “Nothing, there’s no more power. The batteries not strong enough.”
“Well then get one that is.”
“Sinclair hold her.” Seeing as your hands were free, you pushed off the bed, running from the room. “The rover!” Monty was in front of you and you heard Bellamy trail after you. Once you reached the rover, you helped them both push the top of the rover up, pouncing on your feet for Monty to hurry.
A whirring sound caught your ears, and looking up you saw a drone.
“Drone!” Bellamy yelled.
“She’s here.”
A hand grabbed you, pushing you behind Bellamy. You stumbled back, ready to yell at him before you saw him shoot the drone down. You’d been in his way. Stepping forward, he patted Monty’s arm. “Not anymore. Get the damn battery.” Once he had it, you slammed down the top of the rover, running in after the two.
It took you all less than a minute to reach Raven again.
“We have to hurry,” you yelled reaching the room.
“We have to move, guys!”
Monty set up the battery and once it was ready, you yelled go. Sinclair followed and soon enough he pressed the button. The same sound echoed but stronger this time as Raven screamed in pain. Her screaming slowly quieted, and her eyes shut, her body slumping against the bed. Clarke leaned forward, pressing two fingers against her neck, feeling for a pulse. “She’s breathing.”
“Did it work?” You whispered.
“Raven. Hey, Raven, wake up.” They continued shaking her, calling for her and you felt yourself freeze, not seeing her make any movement of waking up. After a minute of nothing, your head fell against your hands, whimpering slightly in worry.
“She warned us,” Jasper mumbled.
You shook your head, feeling every fiber of your being lose hope.
“What are you doing?” Looking up, you saw Jasper rip something from Clarke’s side and squinting you realized it was the container for the chip. “Don’t move!” He ordered, setting it down against the table. Clarke didn’t listen, stepping forward as her face creased in worry.
“No. You can’t. No, give it back!”
“ALIE did that to Raven,” he yelled, “she’s never gonna get it back.”
“Jasper!” You yelled.
Clarke grabbed his arm, scratching at it desperately. “No, please. It’s Lexa!”You faltered in your step, your gaze falling on Clarke. “Part of her still in there. I saw them cut it out of her head. I’m not–” Clarke paused, her face falling in realization.
“What is it?”
“Both the A.I.’s were made by the same person. Both tap into human consciousness. They must work similarly, right?”
“There’s probably only one pathway to consciousness, so it’s possible, yeah.” Sinclair answered.
“What does this have to do with anything?” Octavia asked, stepping away from Raven.
Clarke walked towards Raven; “i’ve seen an A.I. be removed before. Help me get her on her side.” Stepping forward, you helped push Raven over, staring expectantly at Clarke. “Get that med kit from my bag,” Monty complied, running over and grabbing it before passing it to Clarke.
Fumbling through, she grabbed ahold of a scalpel and you tilted your head, positive you weren’t going to like this. Moving it over to the nape of Raven’s neck, she pressed it against the skin, slicing it across the skin. Blood seeped from the wound but it looked different.
Your narrowed your eyes, scrunching your nose in confusion as Clarke place a cloth to catch the odd looking blood. “This has to work,” she breathed. Soon enough after her words, weird stuff began seeping from her neck.
“What is that?”
Sinclair looked up; “it must be whatever’s left from the chip.”
Looking back down, the weird liquid stopped, and Raven started coughing. You fell beside her, your hand falling against her cheek as she began coughing roughly. “Raven,” you help roll her onto her back, her hand falling to her neck as she groaned. “Ow.”
“Get her up.”
You helped left her up as Octavia chuckled; “never thought i’d be so happy to see someone in pain.”
She laughed, groaning. Stepping away, you let Sinclair wipe away the blood on the back of her neck. In the side of your eye, you watch Monty step away, his back to you. “I could’ve saved my mom…” Your brows furrowed at his statement, before your face fell in realization. His mom must had taken the chip and when he’d… that’s why he’d been so upset when he’d returned with Octavia.
Jasper stepped forward, reaching out his hand towards Monty supportively. “Hey–”
“Get the hell away from me.” He spat, before storming out of the room.
“Monty-” You called, but he was out of the room before you could do anything.
Turning to Bellamy, he sighed, “ALIE knows we’re here. We’ve gotta move.”
-
“Close it up, turn the rover around. We may need to get out of here quickly.”
Raising your gun up, you kept your eyes peeled for anybody. Though when you searched around, you found nothing. Raven was right, it’s like a ghost town.
Looking around, you saw the abandoned cafeteria, but plates of food and drinks were still left out. Card games that looked like they’d never been finished. Stepping a bit away from the group, your eyes fell on a small object from a bit aways. Narrowing your eyes, you stepped towards it, only to find what you could assume was the chip you’d chucked away the other day. Kneeling down, you picked it up, twirling it in your hands.
Your eyes fell to the abandoned area around you, shaking your head, you threw it back to the ground. Except this time you slammed your heel against it, crushing it. That would’ve been the dumbest decision you’d ever made had you taken it. And you intended to destroy any memory of the moment, including the chip. Turning around, you found Bellamy’s eyes on you. It seemed he’d caught the entire thing.
“Find anything?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Nope.”
“We’re in and out,” Bellamy declared, eyeing you warily. “Pack as much gear as you can into the rover.”
“I’ll get the map.” Octavia stated, Jasper stepped up behind her. “I-I’ll go with her. No one should be alone.”
“Don’t want load gear, huh?” You teased, smiling over at Jasper.
“Not even a bit.”
“What’s the rush?” Raven asked Clarke, her eyes narrowing in confusion. “They won’t be coming back.”
“How do you know?”
“ALIE’S mission is to chip everyone,” Raven explain. “It wouldn’t make sense to return to a place she already took.” You gathered what she said, not really finding any fault in it. In one way she was right, it wouldn’t make sense and if ALIE didn’t know you were here, which you hoped, then she definitely wouldn’t be coming back.
“Might make sense if there was someone in that place– i.e. you –who could tell us that stuff.” Sinclair spoke up.
“Good point,” Raven concluded. “Let’s load gear.”
-
“Octavia and Jasper have been taking a long time.”
“I’m sure it’s fine.” Sighing, you bit your lip, pacing. It didn’t seem fine and honestly you were a bit concerned. Dropping off the load you’d been packing, you huffed, brushing your hands. Straightening your shirt, you turned to Bellamy, trying to ignore the awkwardness you felt.
“I’m gonna go after them.” You stated, grabbing ahold of your gun off the table. Bellamy spun around to you, brows furrowed in concern. “No, you’re not. Not alone. I’m coming with.” You placed your hand against his chest, stopping him before realizing how close you two landed next to each other. Pulling your hand off his chest, you took a step back, looking away from his gaze, flushing slightly.
“Uh- no. You have to stay and wait for Clarke and all them. I’ll be fine.” You brushed off, sending a small smile his way.
Bellamy hesitated, looking back in the direction your friends would come through before looking back at you. Smiling, you waved at him; “don’t worry. Did you already forget? I know how to take care of myself.”
He smiled, “you were always very stubborn.”
“Stubborn?” You feigned hurt, placing a hand against your chest. “More like determined.” You both laughed, forgetting yourselves. Once the laughter died, the silence replaced it and you awkwardly scratched the back of your neck. “Uh, i’m gonna go. Radio me if anything happens.”
“Sure.” And that was all he said before you started walking down the hall. Your figure disappeared from his vision and soon it was just you. Walking through the hall, you reached Lincoln’s room soon enough. “Jasper?” You called, pushing the door open. Your eyes narrowed in confusion when you found no one. “Octavia?”
Silence was all you received, so taking a hesitant step forward, you found Lincoln’s journal on the ground, opened. You bent down slowly, picking it up as your heart beat quickened. Something was clearly wrong, though you weren’t sure what. Hearing a thump, you straightened out, reaching for your gun. But as you turned you felt something sharp press against your stomach and a hand against your lips.
With wide eyes, you looked up only to see what looked like a grounder. You struggled in the persons grip trying to break free, but the more you struggled the harder you felt the tip of the knife pressed against your stomach. Your whimpered slightly when you felt it cut you, and your stomach grow a tad bit wet. Breathing heavily, you stared up at the grounder. watching as he took the moment to pull off his mask with the hand he’d used to cover your mouth.
“Ah, the girl hidden within the grounders.”
“Emerson…” You whispered in bewilderment. Realizing your mouth was free, you opened it to scream only for Emerson to take the knife off your stomach, smacking the end of it against your head. Groaning, you felt your vision blur as he pushed you harshly against the ground. Your head smacked against the ground, and soon enough you felt your eyes grow heavy.
“Good to see you again.”
-
Your heart dropped when you saw Clarke walk past the corner, her hands held up surrender. You pushed against the restraints on your wrists, forced in a standing position, you pressed your tongue against the gag in your mouth, not forgetting the discomfort that came with having your mouth gagged. Your eye was bruised purple because of where Emerson had hit you.
You tried to ignore the feeling of Emerson’s hand around your waist, holding you still as you struggled profusely against him. He pressed you against his back, his knife by his side but something told you that soon enough it’d be pressed against your throat. You don’t know why he chose you to taunt with, but you didn’t care. All you could feel coursing through your veins was anger as this man had been one of the first to use your bone marrow for his advantage. It was one of the reasons why he was standing here, alive. He’d been there for your first extraction and had laughed about it.
Closing your eyes, you tried to remain calm, your eyes falling on Clarke and only Clarke. You hoped that Bellamy was somewhere around the corner, a weapon ready in hand. But you also knew, by the way Emerson stood threateningly by you, that he also hoped or knew Bellamy was there. That you were meant to taunt Bellamy with. Though you weren’t sure why.
“I held up my part of the deal,” Clarke finally spoke, taking tentative steps forward. “Your turn. Let my friends go.”
Your heart beat quickened as Emerson waited to reply. Soon enough, you heard him sigh; “tell Bellamy to show himself first.”
“I don’t know what you’re–”
Bellowing out in pain, you leaned down as far as you could as Emerson smacked his fist into your gut. Grunting, you whimpered, watching as Bellamy made no hesitation to step away from the corner, gun raised. “Y/N!” He called and you shook his head, wishing he’d just stayed behind. The safety of all of your friends was more important than just yours.
A hand grabbed ahold of your hair, yanking your head back before you felt the cool steel of the knife against your throat. Coughing from the sudden movement, you paused to regain your breath, peering at Emerson from below. “Good,” Emerson finally spoke. “Now, take out the clip. Throw it down the hall.”
“Bellamy-” you mumbled pathetically through the gag, “don’t.” Emerson tugged on your hair, causing you to groan in pain.
“Put the gun on the ground.” Emerson continued. “And get inside.”
“Please, you wanted me.” You could hear the fear in Clarke’s voice and did nothing to ease you worries about having a knife pressed against your throat. “I’ll get inside once you let them go.”
“I was talking to Bellamy.” Emerson spat, moving the knife so the tip was slicing across your throat. You made an odd sound, feeling the pain as the knife sliced your skin.
“Okay, okay! Just stop.”
Your heart dropped as Bellamy did everything Emerson asked him to, leaving him defenceless. Shoving at Emerson, he only pull harder on your hair as you glared up at him. Looking over at Bellamy, you saw him raise his hands in surrenderer, beginning to walk over to where you were. You suddenly felt breath against your neck, and looking up you saw Emerson whispering something into your ear. “I saw the way he looked at you.”
Whimpering, you watched Bellamy stepped through the doorway, “those are yours.” Emerson nodded over to the handcuffs between you and Octavia. His eyes fell on you as he cuffed himself, nodding somewhat reassuringly down at you. Crinkling your eyes up at him, you whimpered. Once his wrists were cuffed, Emerson chucked your head forward, it smacking against the wall before turning to Clarke, a gun pointed at her.
“Get on your knees, Clarke.”
Clarke complied, falling to her knees. “Put your hands behind your head,” once again Clarke reluctantly listened, completely surrendering herself to Emerson. He stepped out of the airway, turning towards the panel. Your breath quickened as he began to push some buttons, fearing what would happen. The door shut and suddenly anything Clarke and Emerson said was muffled so you couldn’t hear anymore.
Pulling down on your wrists, you began desperately tugging at them even if you knew it was hopeless.
A bang echoed and turning you saw Clarke’s head hit the door, Emerson reposition himself so the head of the gun was pressed against the side of her head.
“You killed three hundred and eighty-one of my people. You took the lives of my children. My brothers. My friends. Did you really think i’d be satisfied with just one death?” You heard Emerson taunt Clarke. Pulling her back, he returned to the control panel, pressing a button. The room suddenly turned red as you looked around in alarm.
You began gasping for breath, looking around at your friends. Bellamy’s head was turned as Octavia mumbled his name. Whimpering out, you caught the attention of Bellamy, him looked down at you with an expression you couldn’t explain. Shaking your head, you felt the strength in your arms give up as you slump down as far as your restraints would let you.
The last thing before your eyes fell shut was Bellamy’s staring back at you.
Then suddenly, you felt the world come back to you.
Gasping, you panted desperately, feeling your eyes blink open. When they opened and your vision cleared, you found your wrists in your view. Your head spun to your left, Catching Bellamy’s eye as he shook his head. Looking back, you saw everyone else sputtering for breath and Clarke looking relieved at you all.

Watching the fire grow, you stared at the two bodies reflecting back at you. Two more people that you and everyone else had lost. Falling beside Raven, you placed your arm around her shoulder, offering her what little support you could. She leaned into you, as you both stared at the burning bodies.
Your hand unconsciously moved to the cut across your throat, your eyes falling on Bellamy’s form across the fire. He didn’t look back at you, but you let your gaze fall on him, thinking.
“It’s time to go! I’ll get the map.”
