Caught by the breath of the north, accompanied by the howl of a wolf, the cries of crows, the moan of a tallharpa and throat singing, you rush towards the icy fjords of ancient Scandinavia.
pagan by faun, a paranormal evening with the moonflower society by avantasia, havamal by nyttland, the great heathen army by amon amarth. for non-metal, the heart behind you by foxy shazam.

Siberian Dark Folk Duo NYTT LAND Releases Stunning SLIPKNOT "Wait And Bleed" Cover
Siberian Dark Folk Duo NYTT LAND Releases Stunning SLIPKNOT "Wait And Bleed" Cover. #nyttland #napalmrecords
Following their much-acclaimed latest studio album ‘Torem,’ (released in October 2023 via Napalm Records HERE), Siberian dark folk duo NYTT LAND has unleashed a stunning cover version of Slipknot‘s early classic “Wait And Bleed”!
NYTT LAND comments:
“With great respect for immortal Slipknot heritage, we created this cover version of their famous song ‘Wait And Bleed‘ in our own sound with…
Nyttland “Ritual” Siberian neo-pagan/norse music. The album is dark, and airy, it does feel like music coming across the tundra. A really great album for ambiance. (August 2021, Napalm Records) https://www.instagram.com/p/CU0_jLcLJBS/?utm_medium=tumblr
"gwydion" by faun, "state of slow decay" by in flames, "exile of the gods" by eluveitie, and "kaisarion" by ghost are definitely my top 2022 releases. for the non-metal crowd, i'll add "dreamland" by will varley and "phil and dolly's honeymoon" by catie curtis. for a pure pop banger, "true crime" by madilyn bailey is a fun one.
6. Name a great song with no guitar in it.
i was going to go through warduna to figure out the folk background instrumentation on all the songs, but i gave up so.....u-gra by nyttland is incredible. industry baby by lil nas x has some bass in the mix, but i feel like it counts for this.
15. Name an artist you used to like but don’t anymore
i cycle in and out of what i like to listen to, so i'm not sure i'd go so far as to say i don't like anyone i used to like. there are a few artists whose recent stuff i don't like (frank turner, nightwish, arkells), but that doesn't really change how i feel about the older stuff.
