Recent gaming hijinks, since I’ve been doing a bunch of that lately!:

 - Interrupted my replay of Fallout 4 to play a 151 rom hack of Pokemon Yellow over Christmas. Despite being a mini pokemaniac as a child I never actually finished Red, and was more obsessed with the cartoon and pikachu merch than the games. Playing this was super chill and nostalgic over Christmas, though :’3 I didn’t catch all 151 like I planned to, because I forgot how damn grindy the game could get, and I have better things to do with my time these days.

 - I saw @wtf-skittens play fifteen whole minutes of Cult of the Lamb on stream and it was so adorable I kept thinking about it over Christmas break, so I bought it in the Jan PSN sales. What an absolute delight to play! A beautiful little dopamine factory. I beat the final boss and I’ve completed it as far as I want to, since I’m trying not to be shitty to my cult members so I’m not completing some of the more morally-dubious sidequests. I’ve had the soundtrack on repeat for many days now @_@

 - After finishing off RE2make, I’m currently in the middle of playing Oddworld: Soulstorm with my old man. Oh my god this game is fucking frustrating, utterly riddled with glitches that are sometimes game-breaking but more often just completionist-breaking. We’ve had to restart 3 levels from scratch. But I WILL help my poor dude Abe save all of the mudokons >:[ even if I have to spend 4 hours in that one heavily glitched secret room to do it. Abe is such a sweetie, ughhh <3 Poor guy, just wants to save his people, but he is Very Tired and also destiny hates him apparently. His little chuckle when you blow up a slig with your spiritual powers gives me life.

I wanna try Signalis soon. That might be one to play with the old man, too, since it looks so old-school survival horror. I think he’ll enjoy it.

An Oddworld Munch’s Oddysee T-shirt with some art I don’t think has been seen before online. I really like the colour scheme and how the characters are composed here. With munch being the only white thing on the shirt apart from the game title and being tiny compared to, not only the blackness of the rest of the shirt, but also the dark silluette of the vykker looming over him, eyes blank yet still filled with malice, illuminated by the blood red graphic in the background and about to use their surgical tools or big sharp claws to inflict a world of pain on tiny, helpless Munch.

The symbolism in the graphics and art here perfectly captures what Munch’s Oddysee is about while also just being a kick ass design for a shirt. An amazing design all-around!

To celebrate our 7th anniversary, we've teamed up with Oddworld Inhabitants to release the soundtrack to Oddworld: Soulstorm on limited edition orange/black marbled 180g vinyl.

So...I own the old double disks of Abe's Exoddus and the old disc for Abe's Oddysee for the playstation. My ps2 won't read discs anymore and I need to take it in to get it cleaned.

I have the booklets inside both in "Good" condition. and the Exoddus booklet contains the merchandise catalogue. I still have the order slip fully intact. I thought that I would share them here since I did on the official OWI Discord, but some of the images might've gotten eaten. there's a limit to attachments on there...

Text quality of these might not be the best and you might see flash glare, as I had to take these on my phone. I do have some other picture captures from the booklet. mostly lore and cast info. I didn't take the pictures of the mini strategy guides.

Also, I wanna thank you for your support again! I’m still in a little shock with my win and don’t know what to think exactly... I said that one day it would be cool to do official Oddworld stuff/merch and here I am... It’s so odd to think that OWI is gonna share my art and people are able to stick it to their skin... Man, what... This is so odd but in a good way, I suppose. I just don’t see myself as a great artist... Sorry, I’m just used to see my stuff so it’s nothing special to me, I’m the creator of that stuff after all. But it warms my hear if you really like my stuff!

ya!!! i have one shirt a hoodie and i am not normally the kind of person who buys physical merch that doesn't have a use/isn't something i can wear but i got the special oddition of SoulStorm bc i wanted that Abe figure sooooo bad and it was 100% worth it

Oddworld

Has anyone else noticed this weird feeling in the Oddworld community since Soulstorm's release? It's just seems like there's this ever crushing feeling of running out of time. I've seen comments from people saying it, I'm feeling it, and hell you can even hear it in Lorne's voice in some of the more recent interviews that he's feeling it. He doesn't want to be burdened by the time restraints that comes with making games and I can't say I blame him. Lorne's getting older and this story he's been trying to tell ever since he created Oddworld back in 1994 has had to go through so many uphill battles.

Like, I still love Munch's Oddysee but the final product was not the game Oddworld Inhabitants wanted to ship. There's been so many story/game concepts that just never made it off the ground for whatever reason that'll probably never see the light of day, and that's a damn shame. Stuff like Hand of Odd, Sligstorm, and The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot are all games that I'd love to be able to experience but all we'll probably have is the concept art,which is nice! Hell in the year 2021 will still only have two parts of the quintology! Only Abe's Oddysee and Munch's Oddysee from the original quintology ever got released.

We've only seen maybe a handful, if even that, of concept art for Squeak's Oddysee and that's about it. Do we even know who the other two are in the quintology? I don't know what the new quintology has in store for us, but as someone who loved Soulsorm I'm stupid excited for what's to come! I'm also excited for the possible TV series and maybe even comic books? Oddworld branching out into other mediums isn't a bad thing, not at all. The more Oddworld merch the better I say!

I would never want them to stop making games, but at the same time I want them to at least finish the quintology. If that means they have to do it in other formats...then so be it. I've been a fan of this franchise for a long time. It's very near and dear to my heart. I remember being mad when Munch was revealed to be an xbox exclusive.

I remember reading in an issue of Game Informer that Stranger's Wrath was eventually coming to the ps2, LIARS, and being stupidly fucking excited for New 'n' Tasty. I followed the development of Soulstorm very closely, which might be why I love it so much cause I knew what to expect from it. Seriously though I could make a post about people's complaints with Soulstorm all it's own. Like, seriously some of the complaints are so fucking stupid. I don't have much more to really say and if I'm being honest this post probably got sidetracked and for that I'm sorry.

I just want this franchise to succeed and for Lorne to finally see his vision through. Anyway, it's getting late. Goodnight and thanks for reading my nonsense!

That seems like a pretty big collection. If that’s small, I’m scared to ask about your Mari and Ennard collections... but here I am.

I think I listed it somewhere before, but since Tumblr isn’t exactly easy to find old posts with, I will gladly do so again!

For my Ennard collection, I have both varieties of Ennard plush, the action figure, the mini Heroes figure, the little racer in the butter car, and the Scooping Room build set (which I got before it went into scalping prices). I also have a non-official Ennard purse that I carry around. I know I’m missing something, but I won’t remember until after I post this. XD

My Mari collection is quite a bit larger. I have the standard Mari plush, the buildable 8-bit figure, Prize Corner building set, the mini heroes figure, all three faces of Mymogi figures, the little racer in the gift box, the mystery mini figure, the SquishMe Puppet in normal and glow-in-the-dark, two posters, the Nightmarionne action figure, a plush keychain, a figure keychain, and a non-official 6-foot tall Mari plush. 

Neither collection has reached by 9 collection levels, but it’s creeping up there. XD My Oddworld collection is unfortunately small, but here’s hoping for more merch in the future... I have a problem.

Hey I am the same Anon from yesterday thanking you for the content. I just wanted to say Thank you for your kind words and tbh I’m thinking about starting a Oddworld RP blog but I’m not the best drawer nor be the best blogger but I’ll try. I’m still anxious due to stuff like Copyrights. Just for a bit of update I’m still drawing my OCs and making their characters but for a spoiler their names are going to be Tyari and Pan. ((I'm not the best either anon. i have moments still where i mean to send a response or reblog over on spoocy and i accidentally do it under big face. i end up going WHOOPS! copy the response i made over to a word doc, and mash the delete key as quickly as i can. we're only human.

I also sometimes have moments where i misunderstand something being said or written and, many people might be noticing i have a habit to go revisit responses and try to edit things like spelling mistakes, grammar errors, or try to make a situation a little more clearer. I too am not the best artist in the world. i have it mentioned on the about section here and my oc hub/oddworld main hub spoocy that i don't draw well at all. I don't normally like sharing my art because of it. i'm almost 30 and my pictures look the same from when i was 12. i only draw and share pictures when i offer references for commissions. i am terribly shy about my art skills. i still enjoy trying to doodle from time to time. and i do have moments where i do share stuff, but that's a once in a blue moon thing. Art is, in my opinion, completely optional for a roleplay blog. not everyone does them.

honestly anon the only time i would worry about copyright stuff for these things is when you try to profit off of it. Theres a difference between commissions, and selling the piece as merch. the latter is usually when people have to worry about copyright, and i'll tell you. not all companies are like nintendo or disney that will send the hounds after you. in the case of wanting to show "others art skills copyright" usually you ask permission from that artist first before you upload that. and make sure to give credit and a source where you can find that artist.

I would like to offer you this too anon. Big Face and Spoocy are actually my first official roleplay blogs, i'm not new to roleplay, but i often reserved it only for my personal friends via private messages. this is the first time i ever made anything for public roleplay purposes. Social Anxiety can kick ya in the butt that way. If you are a newbie, probably in your best interest to try either an oc only muse blog at least to start. unless you think you are comfortable enough to man a main character ask blog. These should be for fun, so if it stresses you out, it might not be one's cup of tea. This is strictly my opinion and no one has to obey one's opinion. I would still love to see those pictures sometime, and learn a little more about your oc's.))

I was around 7 years old when my sister showed me a drawing of Abe that she did. I was like “h u h” and Abe gave me a certain weird vibe that was hard to explain. a mixture of discomfort and intrigue.

she began telling me about the Oddworld games and showing me cutscenes and stuff, and I happily and excitedly watched her play them. I made a DeviantArt when I was 8 or 9 (has been abandoned for yEEEARS) where I mostly posted my Oddworld fanart.

there’s multiple! finishing Munch’s oddysee for the first time and getting the good ending (I think I cried? lol) and any other one would probably be watching my sister play the games lmao

oh man. i’ve had a lot of Oddworld ocs that have come and gone. the first one I made was called Bob, an average looking mudokon with a single red feather for hair. he stuck with me the longest but I abandoned him a couple years ago. he still means a lot to me though, he’s one of the ocs i’ve had for the longest in general. may revive him in future

though I am actually working on an OC at the moment! his name is Leif, he’s a farmer mudokon who grows crops and stuff. i’ll probably make an account for him later.

I’m not usually into competitions but this Soulstorm tattoo competition felt surprisingly inspiring. This might be a bit too complex for its purpose but man, if I ever get an Oddworld tattoo, this could be the one. I’m not sure though where I would want it to be tattooed it because I’m a hairy man and I don’t wanna it to cover in hair...

Oh well, maybe I just should print it. I just have been pondering stuff and been thinking that some of my Molluck art would be cool on T-shirts and stuff. I’m slowly starting to accept that idea since my self-hatred has still been trying to kick me but I’m trying my best to tell it to shut up. I really would love to do own Oddworld merch but of course, I would ask a permission for it if I’m not only doing them for myself. It would be even better if OWI accepts doing them! Man, it would be so cool to do official Oddworld stuff.

This tattoo design has a personal meaning for me too since I have learned stuff from Molluck that has been really helpful for me. That’s one reason why he is so dear to me.

Oh, if ya wonder my activity, I’m basically on holiday this month and I have a lot of time to be creative and post stuff!
