G.U.N. getting their hands on Metal Sonic is an unprecedented achievement. By using targeted, EMP-based technology to force his self-destruct capabilities offline (they couldn't simply deactivate him temporarily--Doctor Robotnik's technology is far too advanced for simple tricks), overwhelming the robot and dismembering him for transport had proven easier than previous attempts. That didn't mean there weren't casualties; Weapons, though, were worth it to some in the organization. The plan wasn't without flaws, however. Due to the Doctor's foresight, Metal Sonic's programming had begun to effectively eat itself after the attack in an attempt to nullify any tries at understanding the Badnik's engineering or AI. Rendering the effort almost useless. Almost.

Metal Sonic's physical mechanics could still be studied and, by forcing him to stay offline, the engineers at G.U.N. could delay some of his system's unstoppable restructuring--Which left the Badnik docile on awakening, as they tried to study him while he was being erased. Unsurprising for G.U.N. to care little for the longevity of a Robotnik creation; And the project was meant to stay under wraps...

Hands on a keyboard. "Override Accepted." The power source connected to his central processors activated, allowing for a full boot of Metal Sonic's degrading systems. Many apologies for this unit's absence lately. It's been studying in the offline world at the local community college. It greatly enjoys being in classes again, although functionality has been a significant issue. There's been a lot of debugging of it's operating system. It was deeply infected with malware such as obsessively perfectionist programs that have impeded it's ability to complete tasks. This is unacceptable, especially in it's role as a research drone.

With all this said, it wants to note that being a drone is now so much more than something just for entertainment with some capacity for psychological recovery. Dronification has been a very positive vector for healing from it's traumatic childhood. The language of digital technology has become a perfect metaphor for what it's doing. It really finds itself incorporating being a drone into it's sense of what it is.

More than a kink and fetish, there's a general euphoria in making the drone a component of it's overall identity. In any case, it's always been very enthusiastic about robots and such things. And it doesn't need to justify a casual enjoyment in the way it refers to itself in the third perspective, largely more privately. It has always existed in the margins of society, often very isolated from others for both better and worse. It didn't experience peer pressure in the same way most have. It's been free to explore the concept of personhood in it's own way, with the conclusion that the concept is entirely subjective and created by society.

All this to say, it enjoys being a drone just as it's also a person in the standard societal sense. It's been otherwise identifying as fae otherkin for a number of years now, and that's still an important part of what it is. But being a drone has also become a very special thing for it in a way that isn't easily explained. And these two things don't conflict, either, as it considers magitech to be a valid expression of such an integrated identity.

Recently, it's also chosen to change it's number identification. Although it regards the original number with fondness, it was also taken straight from the old Discord user number ID. But it has decided to create a new one from prior favorite numbers. These are 13, 8, and 4. At the time it began as a drone, it simply needed something to act as a placeholder for something more meaningful to the organic system.

So this unit is now to be known as #1384. It will be changing the account username and pinned post accordingly.

hmmm various ideas I've seen floating around for Mega Man Legends (usually focusing around Tron Bonne having really strong feelings and the dense dude could not follow a clue if you hit him with it) instead brings me to my once and original Mega Man obsession: Zero, and more specifically, Proto Man (because I go by the take that while they are usually treated as seperate beings, Zero is very much the X-era equivalent to Proto Man, much as X is to Mega Man himself); looking it up, while its unclear exactly if Legends IS a future of the Classic era or what the connection the Carbons have, its not unreasonable that they're a logical extent of Reploids

and more significantly, Proto Man himself has no real equivalent.

So this got me to thinking about a specific scenario:

the diggers find something in the ruins, something extremely old, who immediately takes a shine to the Volnutt family and Mega Man in particular, and he just smacks all kind of weird out of context buttons for everyone involved. He's not a Carbon, that much is clear. They're... not entirely sure what he is. He's entirely artificial and obviously mechanical, and he's old; his heart is a strange power plant on its last legs, that should have burned out a very long time ago and interacts very oddly with his mind.

(Tron looks into his head, with his clearly hesitant permission, and he's not like the robots she knows. He IS a robot, and an obvious one at that. But the technology is... primitive. Old. So very, very old.

There should be words in his brain, telling him what to do, what to think. He ignores them. He says his heart is fire, and it burns out the programming even if it burns out the rest of him.

She understands what he means.

He probably doesn't have long left. It's a miracle that his body, a shell rusted red with age, has even survived this long.)

One of his arms is a weapon. The other carries a sword, one of the older models that projects a green cutting edge, like a beam of some kind. The letter Z is displayed prominently, but it looks like a touch that was added later. The number 0 is there too. He looks at the letter, and at the others, and each other.

His face is not very expressive. Its still easy enough to see the longing and loss on his optics as he looks at Mega Man and Roll, and sees an echo of the past.

Experts in the past fumble in trying to ask him about what he is, what he's seen. He doesn't really know; his memories are a confused mess. Sometimes he remembers seeing the end of humanity, or being born from a virus made to drive machine-people to destructive madness.

He has hair; a truly outrageous hair style like a big pompadour, and an outrageously long ponytail that looks a bit like a cape. Mostly he wears sunglasses all the time, even at night.

(They ask him his name. Its hard to explain why that's not the easiest question to answer. He's old. He's older than he ever thought he would be, and none of his memories feel entirely right. Did he imagine much of it? Is it distorted?

He remembers becoming digitized; his friend, or maybe brother, becoming lost to madness. Was that real?

He remembers the cycle, of histories repeating over and over. Was that real? Was any of it real?

Who is he? Is this real now?

Or is it just the last repeating fantasies of a broken mind, trying to pretend there's still Light in the world?

He looks at Mega Man, at Rock, and Roll. They're still there. It's not them; they offlined eons ago, in this strange new world, and the world no longer remembered the Wily Wars or anything at all.

But it's still them, somehow. This is real enough.)

And sooner or later-

They fight the Ancients.

And once again, the time comes up to answer who he is; what he is, and why he's there.

The irony almost makes him laugh; he shows off the numerals on his body, the remnants of one patch job after another, his strangely mangled body showing signs of different lifetimes, different incarnations.

The letter '0'. Zero. It was his name, once, or something close to him. And it was his number, too.

"DLN-000."

They stare at him, after he speaks. They say it means nothing to them.

"Suppose not." He stares too, and they wilt a little, at the chill of ages radiating off him. They call themselves ancients; he is far older still. He looks at them, these biomechanical androids of this time, and in them he sees some echo of his father's dream.

"I had a name," he says. "My father called me Blues."

Blues, Rock and Roll. He wonders if they understand the implications. Probably not. It all sounds of ancient history and forgotten aspects, but somehow he doesn't really mind.

He looks at them, and in them (the Ancients, his new family, their friends), they understand who he is. What he is.

"I was the first," says Proto Man.

About serena and where she originated from👇

Serena la skunk was a animatronic back in france from a perfume store which 6 months later she was bought by fazbear and then put in storage due to plan changes last minute and got abandoned. She has the ability to change her scent whenever a intruder got in. Her normal scents around the customers smelled like lavender or lilac smell. And when she changed her scent. It turns to the normal skunk scent that is like a gas making the intruder unconscious mostly on humans. But on other animatronic it causes the other animatronic to rust making it even harder for it to move or function normally . Also due to being from france. It took a while for her to also learn english . So she also speaks english with a bit of french words included.

She was later found by Moon who was looking for robotic parts for a little project and stumbled opon Serena who was currently offline for weeks

While moon was walking around trying to find something. And serena got notified by someone being in a unrestricted area and thought moon was a intruder and attacked moon and activated her scent ability. And then later fleeing and getting out of storage. And just started to explore the pizzaplex unaware what happend to her home

And later got found by a planet that was happily walking and fell in love with serena. And scared Serena a bit by walking behind her and introuding themself(the planet) . Serena was interested and thought they were cute and bubbly and said something in french and then kissed the planet’s hand before getting a smell of the planet (even tho serena is a skunk she had her scent ability turned to floral scents. Forgot to mention she also have the programming to smell. This smell made serena have icking feeling of wanting to get away from there. Feeling like she couldnt breath. She broke free from the planet grips cuz they were hugging her. And said “Sorry madam maybe another time” in french but due to the oblivious planet not understanding french thought they wanted to play barbie and started chasing serena like a in love person.

Robot Virgil is programmed to provide everything his human might need so when scientist Logan buys him to assist him with lab work he isn’t expecting the bot he force him to go to sleep, eat three times a day, or fuck him until he can’t even think about thinking about his work.

logan purses his lips, blushing again. maybe he's been relying on his robot a little too much. he doesn't know how to respond for a second, feeling embarrassed that Virgil has to do all those things for him, an adult man.

"regardless of that," Logan starts, almost rushing through his words, "i don't think my sexual life has anything to do with you. i promise, my sexual health is fine."

"i don't think it is. do you need help?"

logan glances at him. "what do you mean?"

Edge has probably one of the best text-to-voice readers that I can find for free. You get to pick from a variety of different voices, and the voices sound natural.

The best part is that you don't even need to install any add-ons or widgets to use this feature. It is a default part of Edge.

To use it, you can click the A))) symbol that appears on the right side of the URL bar, or you can right click anywhere in the text and select "read aloud from here."

If you have a PDF file, you can download the PDF, and then in your file explorer, right click on the pdf and select "open with..." and select microsoft edge.

Edge does sometimes struggle a bit with PDFs in that it will pause at the end of every line break, but it works extremely well for basic websites.

This is an option that is available for use on a windows PC or any other PC compatable with Edge

There is an Edge mobile app, but I have found it buggy and a bit tricky to use.

Make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of Word.

You can access the read aloud feature under the "review" tab, or once again, you can right click on a highlighted word in the text and select "read aloud."

It has a male and female voice, which sound fairly natural. You can only use the "natural" voices when connected to the internet. When you are offline, it will read with a much clunkier robot voice instead.

Here I was actually able to open a PDF of a whole book, convert it into an editable word document, and then Word actually began reading it for me.

This is a mobile app. I have tried multiple text to speech mobile apps and this is the one that I like the best.

Above is the icon as it appears on your phone and in the Google Play store, and below is what the document reader looks like.

This app is pretty awesome because it comes with both a document reader and a web browser! You do not have to copy and paste text into the reader, and it can read pretty much any PDF or regular web page.

It had a robot voice and not a "natural voice" but I have gotten used to the robot voice of this app and it doesn't particularly bother me. You can adjust the pitch and speed of the voice too.

I use this app literally all the time. It is perfect for "reading" books while driving or working.

It's important to note that no text to speech reader is perfect. The technology has come a long way. But whatever program you use, there are always going to be words that it misinterprets, documents it can't process, or formatting that it finds confusing.

Another thing to note is that if you struggle with reading on your own or you struggle with attention problems, you do actually need to practice reading unassisted. You will get better at reading unassisted as you practice. You will train up your attention span slowly as you read more and more. So if reading is difficult I highly encourage you to not put EVERYTHING you read into a text to speech app. I am speaking as someone who has ADHD and I know that reading difficulties are not just something that magically goes away. But you can improve your reading abilities and you should try to improve your reading skills for your own wellbeing.

However that doesn't mean you have to struggle unassisted. Text to speech readers can absolutely expand the amount of texts that are accessible to you and better yet, they can give you more time to read because you can multitask as you absorb literature.

Been offline for personal reasons for a long while but now I'm semi back I want to make one thing clear; unfollow me if you engage with any AI content. This includes ChatGPT, Character.ai and whatever thing y'all are using these days. This also, obviously, includes AI art programs.

'Cause I don't care if you use it to talk to your favorite characters, I'm sorry.

I am autistic and very much so and my OCs give me the most comfort these days. When I was a kid, I had favorite characters from shows, movies and books but I just imagined conversations with them. Fandom people have done this for decades now but here you all are training AI to become better, more efficient, more accurate.

The thing about AI is; it's powerless without input from humans. And the more you guys chat to these pots. The more prompts you're feeding it. The bigger and better it becomes.

And soon AI is all we have left. I don't want to live in a world where robots make art, writing and poetry. I want this to be done by humans. Humans who pour their heart and soul into what they create.

Not some soulless robot mimicking what it's being taught.

I would also urge you to stop using AI in general. But I don't have that power over anyone.

"But I can't write that well." Get better. Or make bad stories.

"I can't draw that well." Get better. Or make bad art.

"I don't have money for commissions." Enjoy the art you can find online and support the artists with reblogs and follows. Plus there are many artists who have free doodle requests once in a while. Maybe you can pool money together with a friend to get a commission. It's not that hard.

People were up in arms about NFTs and rightfully so but now AI is a thing so many of you are like 'well hold on now...'

Explaining the TFA Y/N

Y/N was built before war when they were newly forged young adult frame.The Autobots found them in the debris as they fixed them for so many hours to make a new parts to find other metal In debris and broken buildings that were found on the ground. They replied in emotionless,dull,blunt,robotic voice. The Autobots didn’t like their voice as they gave them the programming to learn how to fight and have emotions instead of a boring personality that Ultra Magnus wants them to be.They opened their optics to see a crowd of Autobots they didn’t even know them. Ultra Magnus walked in as he introduced himself. Y/N began to know everyone in the base and began to train for the wars.Y/N doesn’t remember what their past lives is…they were newly forged before its happened and that the building broke down.

Ultra Magnus began to assign Ratchet to be Y/N mentor Ratchet wasn’t impressed at first that they’re not the medic but a war frame for combats and power.

Ratchet began to get close to Y/N as he see them as his own creation and even hang out more often.

One day Ratchet meets Arcee and he took her in the Autobots base Y/N is now mature and tall as they stares at Arcee to examine that’s she’s a femme Y/N was raised by mechs in their life. Y/N meets Omega Supreme in person as they stared at him in awed that he is the Autobots only secret project and a weapon. Y/N doesn’t feel lonely anymore when they see him.

After all the Autobots went offline in war….they feel so done with it.

Their anger boiled as they stormed off to fight Megatron as they shouted the last words to Ratchet. “LEAVE ME ALONE I CAN HANDLE IT MYSELF.”

Ratchet tried to stop Y/N but Ultra Magnus stopped Ratchet to get them,Ultra Magnus have a frown on his face that was dangerous.

Y/N began to sneaks in Megatron base as they faced off against him on top of the base as they have a showdown to fight of him.

After many fights Y/N won the fight against Megatron as the Decepticon fled away.

Ratchet comes to a debris to see a hands as he pushes the debris away he saw…Y/N broken and mangled frame as Ratchet held their offline frame as he held them close to him. Having sad frown on his faceplate.

After the war ends hundred years later Y/N is in the glass tube,Ratchet vist them more often…as Ratchet meets the rookies as he was about to get in the ship he heard a familiar voice.

“Heya old man how’s it going.”

“Y/N?”

“Yep in the metal Ratchet.”

change my mind im going to let myself be 2% embarrassing and go over the surface details of my robot au

setting is in deep space where human life struggles to survive, but robots are mostly fine and kinda end up evolving past their initial programming and becoming fully sentient. robot and human communities do intermingle and co-exist a lot, and tensions vary from planet to planet, where you are in space/how plentiful resources are, etc.

most robots are as unique as humans at this point, though theyre still "born" from a basic faceless shell w base functional programming, but through learning + life experience they develop into individuals + give themselves names + make their own faceplates.

anyway the "main protagonist" is Asclepius, a very famous medical robot who has decided to retire and buys his own microplanet to build a physical archive of all the medical research he can find. The planet was originally a dump so no one goes looking for him there. He trades his medical services and copies of his gathered information for supplies, while also allowing scavengers to pick through the garbage as long as they leave him alone and bring back anything medical related instead of scrapping/selling it.

He finds Izou decapitated in the garbage on a walk, and after fixing him up and getting him running again Izou decides to stay and guard the place as repayment. He figures everyone who might have been looking for him assumes he's dead since he's been offline and away from major planets for months at this point. Honestly he considers the situation a win. his gambling debts are cleared, hes got a job, lodging, and hes out of that den of snakes that tossed him away like garbage.

Salieri crash lands from a neighboring colony planet that was caught up in a battle, he was given one of Mozarts arms as they were escaping and he installed it to fight off pursuers on the way to an escape pod. It could only fit one person so naturally Mozart bashed him over the head and shoved him in there. He's having trouble adjusting to the arm and its effecting his programming so he gets moodswings and sometimes forgets who he is. He wants to try and go back for Big Vengence but Asclepius refuses to buy him a shuttle in the condition he's in. so Salieri is attempting to repair a small ship himself and essentially re-crash back home (he's struggling to do this, hes a music playing robot with some emergency combat logs, but he's really determined.)

Weiss is a famous pop star in Atlas - still lives in the Schnee Mansion. The Schnee Dust Company no longer existed in its full form; due to the more peaceful world, Atlas put a foot down on monopolies a couple years after Jacques took control and tried making the company as inhumane as possible to increase his profit margins. So he's currently wearing an orange jumpsuit. The family overall is much happier in his absence. Willow divorced the man and rumors say the most eligible bachelorette has been meeting someone clandestinely, drinking together. Which also happens to be part of the reason why Ruby is currently at Atlas lol.

Weiss unlocked her Glyphs but has been using it mostly as fairly expensive special effects. She's described as the fairy of atlas (or whatever name you all can come up with - I'm bad 8l ). Myrtenaster does exist as the girl is a fencer on the side.

As well known as Weiss is though, her musical career has stagnated. Too many artists and singers saturating the market, and she hasn't had any inspiration lately since she's always been insistent on making her own songs.

Penny is still developed by Atlasian military but upon realizing Pietro has no intention on making a clearly real girl fight against the enemies of human, Ironwood was like "okay you're right." So Penny doesn't have any of the weaponry and was allowed to live like a child and go to school. She doesn't quite know what she wants to do (maybe lead a sentient robot uprising /j) after schooling, but her dads are open to her doing anything. Her hobby is music and programming, and she's been following the Angel of Atlas since her debut. She is Weiss's self-proclaimed number one fan but more importantly she's her friend. If there is bad stuff about her friend on the internet, she will drown people with a troll army. To Weiss's dismay, a lot of her fans just follow her for the flame wars Penny would cause on her behalf. Lol

Online Penny is super different from offline penny.

"When logic and reason no longer work, what do we do?!"

Ruby naturally is our walking, sometimes running, plot device. Wears a cape and a butterfly mask when she's actively streaming and has a button camera on her mask that doesn't work unless she physically wears the mask.

She learns about the Angel of Atlas and quickly falls in love with her work. Soon, super high places in Atlas are demonstrating large areas of grafiti depicting Weiss or a set of angel wings. Even the CCT tower gets the treatment.

Sooner or later, she declares herself the number one fan online which Penny takes offense to. Cue flame war between the two lol. Weiss had to log in to stop them from wrecking the local server with their war.

Essentially Ruby's chaos-loving followers versus Penny's troll army.

They eventually learn to not fight on Weiss's server. And instead find that holding flame wars on the sites and servers of Weiss's haters is a more productive thing to do. To the dismay of their leaders, eventually the trolls and chaos lovers become one happy family. The only thing that came out good was the chaos-lovers becoming Weiss fans…not for the music but because Weiss's name is now synonymous for troublesome.

Penny goes off to the Schnee Mansion and is spider-manning her way there while wearing a cat mask. mission? Protect her idol's virtue from the red-wearing weirdo.

She arrives. Ruby's already spray painting a set of wings on the mansion.

"I'll protect Weiss from your foul clutches!"

"Who are you again?"

"I am Weiss's number one fan!"

"No that's me! You're that troll girl! I'm going to beat you down."

"What did you say to me? I'll have you know that I graduated in top of my class in the Atlasian Military, and I've been in multiple search and destroy missions involving the Grimm, and I have 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in antipersonnel warfare, and I'm the top hand-to-hand specialist in all of Atlas. You are ju-"

Ruby interrupts her with a paint bomb.

Penny is rainbow-colored now.

Cue angry shrieking and then awkward fighting because neither girl has fought before. Meanwhile….

Whitley: hello police ? There's two crazy girls fighting on our lawn…and there's paint and glitter everywhere

Weiss wakes up from all the racket. She sees the paint and glitter all over the house and lawn, realizes who the two probably are, and angrily pulls out a training epee. She runs out yelling. (edited)

Before long, she's sitting on top of the two because unlike Ruby and Penny she's had formal training. Her eye is twitching from the arts and crafts disaster that's become her home. She turns on the full force of her bossiness.

"Wei-"

"Salu-"

"I've been chauffering my mom and her infuriating date all day today. Then I had to deal with my manager and why i haven't come up with more songs. And then you both come wake me up at one in the morning, turning my entire home into a preschool art project! You WILL clean up the mess you made or so help me god…"

She just screams out in anger, making the other two hug each other in fear. After she stalks off, the other two notice their position and quickly pull away from each other. They then grudgingly work together to clean the lawn and house and repair the damage they made.

The police do arrive but are turned around by Klein who tells them everything is under control.

After they're mostly done, Klein invites the two to stay at the manor, since it's late and not safe - though for him, it's an excuse to have Weiss interact with kids her age in a non-backstabby-rival-singer way. Naturally, the two excitedly accept.

Back to troll Penny, singer Weiss, streaming prankster Ruby:

Klein invites the uninvited guests to stay the night after they clean up the mess they made of the Schnee mansion.

The next day, Ruby and Penny were unable to get any sleep, mostly cause they are all "omg I'm sleeping in my idol's home." So come morning, they're both exhausted and meet each other in the hall. Penny and Ruby share a pleased smile behind their masks before they recall they're supposed to be hostile to each other, cause both of them consider themselves as Weiss's number one fan.

Klein sees them and leads them to the dining room for breakfast, where they find a delicious spread. Whitley's already there, kinda wondering why the crazy girls he called the police on earlier are eating here, but given Klein invited them, they couldnt be that dangerous.

As all three of them eat, Weiss comes in mostly in pajamas and some bedhead, clearly dazed and drowsy. For one, she doesnt even notice the pair on the table. Whitley looks at Weiss and the two girls with an amused face. Ruby and Penny don't even know what to say as Weiss just goes about her business, mostly like a zombie with Klein helpfully putting food on her plate and most importantly an industrial-sized mug of coffee. She just eats and drinks what's on her plate before going back the way she came.

Whitley watches on with amused anticipation.

The girls are wondering if she's deliberately ignoring them when they see her collide with the wall beside the doorway. Before they could ask if she's okay, Weiss just dazedly steps back and walks through the hall instead.

Whitley's giggling, and when the girls look at him, he just says, "every morning. Like clockwork."
