Pairings: Band Au bassist! Tech x fem reader
Summary: you and Tech both share an intrest in old cars, so you invite him to a street race to see some other beautiful cars, in hopes you'd win one... and you do.

You had been the Bad Batch’s stage manager for a little over a month, growing close with each of them individually. Each band member had their quirks and flaws but you didn’t mind any of them.
You were currently in the studio garage, listening to some of the batchers practice. They didn’t need you there to oversee that though so you decided now would be a great time to give your 67 firebird a good ol tuneup and wash for your secret event tonight.
You were wearing a pair of loose black jeans and a black tank top that already had oil stains in it, and you got comfortable underneath the car. You had all the things necessary in order to detail your car, like oil and spark plugs, all necessary items for an old car like yours, as well as more bottles of nitrous oxide which you had built into your car… for the special events.
Currently you were doing an oil change, laying underneath with an oil catcher beside you underneath the drain cap for the oil tank. You had loosened it up before flicking it off completely, managing to avoid getting a lot of oil on your hands, watching as it drained into the oil catcher.
You moved out from under the car, humming along to the song that the band was currently rehearsing as you grabbed the specific oil you needed from your trunk, placing it by the hood before you slipped back under the car, twisting the cap back on after the oil had all drained out.
You moved the oil catcher off to the side so you wouldn’t trip on it, and walked to the hood of your car, popping it open with one hand while you used the other to clip the metal hood stand onto the top of the hood so it stayed up.
You then found the top of the oil tank and you twisted off the cap, grabbing your oil funnel and sticking it in. “Changing the oil?” Tech spoke up, his voice making you jump as you didn’t even realize that he had walked into the garage. “Yeah, amongst other things. I gotta get her tuned up for the big event tonight.” You chuckled, and started filling the tank with the clean oil.
“What event?” Tech asked, adjusting his glasses as he walked over to you, watching you work from over your shoulder. You glanced at him for a moment as you finished with the oil, removing the funnel and putting the cap back on the oil container, doing the same with the car's oil tank.
you turned to face Tech fully now, hands on your hips as you grinned at him. “Street racing.” You stated, lowering the hood as you tidied up your workspace before grabbing a full tank of nitrous oxide. You entered your car, gesturing for Tech to join you in the passenger seat as you changed out bottles, and gave it a quick pressure test and a test to see if it was actually full, and it was.
“Street racing… that is illegal is it not?” He asked you, watching intently as you changed out the tanks. When you left to put the other tank in the back of your car, he took a moment to admire the interior which was just as pristine as the outside.
“Yeah, but it’s so much fun, and it’s not like I ever get caught. There’s people monitoring police channels, and if they get any news of police headed our way, we get radioed and then we split tail and reschedule.” You explained to Tech as you entered the driver's seat again, staring at him as he admired your car’s design before looking at you.
“Maybe i’ll take you with me tonight.” You suggested, seeing something flash in his eyes as he raised his eyebrows slightly. “I would… I would be interested in experiencing this street racing… but won’t there be traffic?” He asked.
You shook your head. “Nope! We again have more cars to block off the straight shot roads. People get pissed sure but at the time of night we actually race there isn’t much traffic anyway.” You chuckled, checking the time on your watch.
“Well I gotta get home and get ready for tonight… How about I come pick you up at your place around ten? The race starts at eleven so I can introduce you to some friends.” You suggested, leaning back in your car as you grinned at him.
Tech looked away from you for a moment, looking like he was having a conversation in his head before he slowly nodded, looking at you. “yes- i would rather enjoy that i think… i will see you at ten Pm” He replied, getting out of the passenger side, gently closing the door behind him. “Can you let Hunter know I'm leaving for the evening?�� You called back to Tech, who nodded to you before leaving the garage.
You started your car, letting it rumble for a few moments as it cycled through the new oil. Afterwards you drive off, speeding down the street, only slowing down to the regular speed when you get to the main roads.

Ten o'clock rolled around quickly enough, and you had just pulled up to Tech’s home just as the clock hit Ten. You stayed in your car, having no reason to get out as you already saw Tech exiting his house. He was wearing a darker pair of jeans with what looked to be a new rip forming at one of the knees.
He wore a plain black shirt and a tan leather jacket overtop, along with his glasses of course. But his hair wasn’t slicked back like it usually was and you could see the waves in his hair, and the little curls that fell across his forehead.
Tech climbed into the passenger seat and you beamed at him. “You look good.” You complimented. You were wearing something a little more revealing.
It was a form fitting black dress that stopped at your center thigh, underneath that you had on a pair of black mini shorts, and a pair of fishnet leggings. The dress had long sheer sleeves, and an open collar. You decorated your neck with two different necklaces and wore some bulky rings on your fingers.
“You look stunning.” tech spoke bluntly, and you could feel the heat rise up your cheeks. “Thank you, Tech.” You replied softly, shifting the gear into drive as you checked for any traffic before driving off towards the location of the street race. You could see hundreds of people already, drinking and dancing to the music that played. You pulled up to the temporary parking spots for the racers, getting out and gesturing for \tech to follow as a group of girls, some of your closest friends ran over to you.
“Hey sexy! who's the cute toy you brought this time?” One of the girls asked, you rolled your eyes and nudged her playfully. “This is Tech, and he's not a toy and NO you may not touch him.” You answered quickly, gently grabbing his hand so he could stay close to you.

It didn;t take you long to dress it in whatever condiments you wanted, and you turned back to look at him with a smile. “It's pretty crazy isn’t it?” You asked him before taking a bite into the hot dog, accidently getting some of your lipstick on the bread. You wiped it off, but when it did not come off you just gave up and kept eating before it was finished.
“We can wait in the car until the race starts if you want, and just listen to some music.” You offered, not wanting the man to get too stressed out before the race even started. However Tech shook his head. “No- no i should be okay… I appreciate your concern however.” He told you, and you offered him a smile before squeezing his hand again, this time leading him to where the other racers were.
“hey look who it is! Morticia Adams in the flesh.” One of the racers joked, and in return you rolled your eyes. “Yeah well unlike a fictional character who can't hurt you, I can and I will geld you. I got the shears in my trunk.” You jested, but made your tone sound serious. The man gulped, and looked away from you.
You rolled your eyes, and turned to the third racer, another woman. But her attention wasn’t on you, she was looking Tech up and down like she was a piece of candy.
“I have a proposal.” She spoke up suddenly, staring at you directly now. You raised an eyebrow, but nodded for her to continue. “If you win you can have my car. But if I win… I want a week with your boy toy.” She giggled, licking her lips as she winked at Tech, who squeezed your hand a bit tighter.
You stepped forward, somewhat shielding him with your body. “Absolutely not- Tech isn’t an item to be traded.” You hissed. But the woman just rolled her eyes before whistling, and the crowd cleared, revealing a sleek and absolutely stunning dodge charger, with some powerful mods added to it too.

And with a deal struck, the race started a bit early, and now only consisted of two racers, you and that woman, who’s name you discovered to be Natalie. Tech sat in the passenger side of your car, holding onto the handle on the roof just in case. You revved your engine, and made sure everything was primed and at your disposal. One hand rested on the wheel, the other on the stick shift beside you.
You stared directly ahead, not bothering to look at the woman who was blowing Tech kisses which he also ignored. And instead he stared at you, placing his hand on yours. “You will be victorious, Y/n.” Tech muttered to you, and you tore your eyes away from the road, looking into his instead.
“I don’t know why you have so much faith in me.” You muttered to him, but he only smiled. “I only request that you trust me.” He stated, and you nodded before looking at the road as the flag girl walked out between the two vehicles.
You revved your engine again, switching your car to drive, pressing down on the break. And as soon as the flag girl signaled to go, you stepped on the gas and sped down the road. You switched gears as soon as you needed to, but not a minute before or a minute later. And for a long part of the race, you and Natalie were neck and neck.
You glanced over at her, and she flipped you off, flashing a quicked smile as she started to prep her nitrous oxide, before flipping whatever switch she needed to give her that short boost. “Too soon.” you muttered, and switched gears again, hitting near the max speed of your vehicle, already catching up to her as you neared the finish line.

Chapter 4 Trivia
Tsukasa's stone-cold goals are revealed.

Because lions have to be stronger than their prey, they're full of muscle and don't have a lot of fat, making their meat tough. Because of the lack of connective tissue and fat to soften the meat through traditional methods, the best way to do it is slowly over a low temperature which prevents the meat overcooking while allowing the connective tissue to break down and soften. Fun fact! If you mix natural sunscreen (zinc oxide) with chemical sunscreens (there are many chemical variations) it actually makes the sunscreen less UV protective, AND can cause a toxic breakdown of chemicals with UV exposure. (Well, toxic to zebra fish anyways, which is what they use to test how it would react on human skin).

Examining why egg yolk was used in Old Masters' oil paints
A team of chemical engineers affiliated with several institutions in Europe has determined why Old Masters of the 16th, 17th, and early 18th centuries added egg yolk to their oil-based paints. In their study, reported in the journal Nature Communications, the group added fresh egg yolk to the types of oils used by Renaissance painters and tested them to see changes it made to their properties.
For many years, historians have known that the Old Masters of the Renaissance, such as Sandro Botticelli or Leonardo da Vinci, added proteins such as egg yolk to their oil-based paints—creating a medium known as egg tempera—but no one knew why. In this new effort, the chemists set themselves the task of solving the mystery.
The work involved creating two types of oil-based paints, both with yolk added. One mixture consisted of nothing but yolk and oil. The other had yolk, oil and pigments to add coloring. The team also created similar paints without using egg yolk. The group then used the paints to create paintings that could be used for testing purposes. Such tests included taking measurements of moisture amounts and movement, oxidation, time to dry and heat capacity.

Episode 11 Breakdown
The police team find a timer delay that caused the short circuit in the hospital, bringing their suspect pool into question.

Dr Bai scolds Nurse Bai for helping with the cut-out note, and that involving herself with spy investigations will only put her in danger again. Officer Hongmei discovers that Nurse Bai is helping with the cut-out note and confiscates it and the magazines. Ji Danyang discovers that Zhou Jun, who had checked out all of the magazines previously, is also the name of an oil painter and shares this information with the police team. The police leader calls in extra help to investigate all of the local art teachers for the past 10 years and plan an art competition to try and lure him out.
The KMT suspect that Dr Bai is "Ghost Owl", a missing operative from the liberation, and want to try and persuade him to work with "Snow Wolf" to sabotage the Water Drop project.
Police Captain Chen tries to get the estranged Ji Danyang and Officer Hongmei to work together, and along with expert He Xiwen they solve the riddle that Zhang A Shui had left them - what has 2 forms, 4 legs and 8 heads? = 井 the chinese character for a well.

The police team find a hidden box in the well at the deceased accomplices house, and using Zhang A Shui's key they find copies of minutes from 5 of the expert's project meetings inside. The team scour the meeting rooms for hidden listening devices but don't find anything, and a check of the attendance lists and find Secretary Lu is a common denominator. Officer Hongmei tests his loyalty by giving him a sealed folder to pass to his boss, but Project Chief Han returns it intact and vouches for him. However he reassigns work to the new staff, leaving Secretary Lu feeling out in the cold.

Nurse Bai is reinstated to the Specialist Medical Unit and now in good spirits is happy to gang up against Ji Danyang when he tries teasing Officer Hongmei, mentioning the rutile bracelet and their sisterly bond. Ji Danyang asks to borrow Officer Hongmei's bracelet for testing, as rutile is used for extracting titanium oxide and the Project Chief is excited about the find.

The police team leaders are livid about the reveal of the meeting minutes being leaked, and rightly so.
Secretary Lu is coming across more like a sad puppy now, and I don't know if it's endearing me to him or not.
It's now confirmed that the truck driver Lai Guangrun is KMT, and probably "Lizard", and that Dr Bai was "Ghost Owl" even though he's given up the cause for a simpler life, but it looks like the old life is going to drag him back in.
Ok thats the third time our math man has been called an Expert in Seduction, so I've turned on bilingual subtitles to find out what they're actually saying - and look!

Ever wanted to smell like a church? Then do I have the botanical perfume recipe for you! Smells like church pews cleaned with Murphy's Oil Soap, and a haze of frankincense.
Measured in drops because I'm a pleb:
1 cedarwood
2 sandalwood
3 rosewood
3 scotch pine
8 frankincense 20% (this is what I have on hand)
2 citronella
Adjust to taste and multiply as needed. Would be cool to use a fixed oil as the carrier medium like an anointing oil! I recommend jojoba or fractionated coconut oil as they don't oxidize nor turn rancid, thus acting as a natural preservative. Dilute to 20%-30% for an eau de parfum in oil, and 15%-25% eau de parfum in cosmetic/perfumer's alcohol.
Disclaimer: I'm just a hobbyist on the internet without any education, I barely graduated high school. I can't promise this is safe and am not responsible for what happens if you recreate this. Once upon a time, there was a trio of research assistants. These research assistants worked with alkali metals in their daily life; they knew quite well, of course, that alkali metals react with water (rapidly and violently) and air (slowly, but the oxide created is explosive.)
These research assistants made some Li-metal batteries to test the durability of a certain polymer material under the electromagnetic and physical stress of being in a battery. They took the batteries that shorted back to the wet lab and opened them up to remove the polymer material and see if it had any notable differences to before it was tested. The disassembly went fine (though they had to use a manual file as using a mechanical one would have possibly created a heat enough to have ignited any lithium oxide that was there.) They removed the polymer material and stored it for safekeeping, but now they had a bunch of lithium metal outside of inert atmosphere.
The oldest research assistant wanted to know where the liquid to store the lithium metal was (as in organic solvents lithium generally won't oxidize.) The middle research assistant had fucking had enough after the filing escapades, and gestured vaguely to the back of the lab. The youngest research assistant figured that they'd go look for some mineral oil, since that's the most commonly used liquid to immerse alkali metals in for safekeeping.
However, when the oldest and youngest research assistants looked around the lab, they saw that the mineral oil was out of reach of both of them. (Neither of them was >165cm, you see, and it was on a high shelf.) However, that was fine. There were other organic solvents in the lab, at a much more reasonable height (in the flammables cabinet.) The oldest research assistant looked through the cabinet, but most of them were not in sealed containers- water might have gotten in. In addition, some of them were less than 99% what they were supposed to be, therefore some of that impurity could be water.
The oldest research assistant pulled out one of the few sealed bottles that was 99.9% pure (HPLC grade). They poured some of the liquid into a beaker- enough to cover all the pieces of lithium metal that remained. The liquid, by the way, was 99.9% pure dry methanol.
The two research assistants carefully placed the lithium metal in the beaker in the fume hood. They then proceeded to immediately slam the fume hood sash down.
You see, dear reader, alkali metals don't just react with water. Though that's what you'll see if you read about them online, they actually just really like to form hydroxides. So if something has an OH group attached to it, alkali metals will react. Oftentimes more rapidly than with water!
The lithium chunks were fizzing, hissing, and skidding around on the surface of the water inside the fume hood. Luckily for us, however- I was the youngest research assistant in this scenario- we were working with lithium, the most electronegative and lightest of the alkali metals. Due to this higher electronegativity, it reacts less rapidly with OH groups than the heavier alkali metals do. So there was no explosion, as fun as that might have been with the sash down. The moral of the story is to use your head about chemical interactions, and don't believe everything you read on university EHS websites.
Anyway, the oldest research assistant is working at one of the top universities in the country now. I wish them all the best.

Sometimes this means makeup can go a little grey, a little white, a little orange, a little yellow all kinds of things.
When you're testing make up, do a swatch close to where you plan to wear the makeup, let it settle for 5 to 20 minutes (I have a foundation that literally takes 15 mins to oxidize but a concealer that does so in 2 mins) and then once it's settled you can see if you like the color it changes to.
Not all makeup oxidizes but you usually don't know which ones will until you wear them.
BONUS TIP match your bases. If your primer is silicone based, use other silicone products like foundation and concealer. If your primer is water or oil based, use a water or oil based foundation. Otherwise you might notice you makeup pills, it's usually because the ingredients aren't working well together so matching your bases tends to clear that up.
