IN DEFENSE OF PETEKEY

an open letter about a ship everyone knows, but no one ships.

The link between Pete's discography and petekey has consistantly been cited as source of contention among those who would catagorize themselves as 'anti-petekeyers', or at least those who would think of themselves as not petekey aligned.

There is this common notion that most petekeyers are delusional, which while I might argue that RPF in itself is delusional, as RPF is fundamentally a made up fan activity, I think the belief that "petekeyers suck" comes from an outside perspective of the ship that missunderstands the fans within.

There is a term in Chinese fan culture for ships, if something doesn't have many works being created for it, it's called 冷门 - which means that it’s cold, or in slang terms, "the artic circle".

Petekey is straddling this strange place of being a ship that has high notoriety without having a large body of work being created for it anymore; it's very famous, but not contributed too. It is an artic circle ship.

So, unlike Peterick or any other more prominent ship, there is a deficit of work which takes labor; fanart, fanfic, edits, etc. Because creating that work takes double the effort, one must create their own situations and then create their art.

There is very little canonical interactions of petekey. It is an old ship. It requires a lot of work on behalf of the fan to interact with petekey nowadays, and much of that work must exisit outside of the cannonical acceptance if new ideas/content are to be created.

What is easy, and what is simple to digest to the larger population, is the fact that Pete at one point in time probably wrote some LiveJournal posts about Mikey. And what is easy to do is extrapolate that into "XYZ song is about Mikey Way".

"Songs about mikey way" a joke that I believe is easier made and more wide spread among people who don't ship petekey in a genuine way. Within the Petekey tags on fansite, you'll see little of this behavior among people who are actively engaging in the ship in a continuous way.

I have found myself several time staring down a post made as a joke about how "every song is about mikey" with many critial comments about the ship as a whole. I think it is easy to take posts in fandom spaces at face value that their intent is genuine due to the overwhelming presence of genuine and honest love for the media/people at hand.

But fundamentally, we see the abject distaste of petekey in a way that isn't applied to other ships. For an easy comparison you can look to Peterick and the notion that any content can be applied to Peterick without judgement.

Though Peterick is definitavely a more complex ship which encompasses more time between the two members, it is noticeable that same standard of "canon" is not interjected into those who determire what is about them, weather that be in FOB's discography, interviews, or other writings.

We can say many things are about Peterick while containing it within a vaccuum unaffected by any other ship or "canon". One of the typical objections to Petekey posts one might see, is an intejection that whatever romantic notion is detailed, pales in comparison to what Peterick has.

Similarly, due to the prevalence of Pete and Patrick within each other's lives, many fans can write that any given meme, situation, lyric, or other media can be applied to them with relatively no push back. After all, there is a wealth of situations one could use to justify its "canonicalization".

This reliance on the canonicalization of Fall Out Boy lore and the rallying against that which is uncanonical has always been a bit paradoxical. As stated before, RPF has always been a fan created activity for the purpose of self expression.

Shipping, let's use for example, Andy and Pete (or any other "rare parings"), despite their limited romantic expression, is not to be seen as delusional, but rather an endevor of fun that doesn't need canonical text to back it up. Content within these rare-pairs does not recieve the same scrutiny within typical interactions; which one might allign with the notion that these rare pairing are done with fun and jest.

So while we often link the annoyance of petekey to "making lyrics about mikey when they're not" AKA the adherance to "canonical text", I often wonder if it isn't simply the disinterest in petekey altogether due to the fact that it's prevalence has gone stale and contributed little to the marketplace of artistic creation within the past ten years.

You can also see this happening within the MCR community. As MCR contnues to interact less and less, there is a difficulty that comes with creating new works of labor as one must develop their own ideas surrounding the ship. Staleness can often come and permeate fandom.

I find the rise rayard/frikey as an almost counter movement to frerard/rikey which previously was the popular default among fans. There is the artistic desire to explore that which is new in order to open up a door to new artistic explorations.

One of the reasons I started writing fanfic was the lack of fanfiction being produced for petekey which explored new ideas past "doomed yaoi". Many petekey AU fanfics which have gained notoriety were written by authors who have long since left the pekekey fandom altogether, not to mention the amount of half finished works abandoned on AO3.

As I write my own Petekey works, I find myself creating people who are adaptaions of Pete Wentz and Mikey Way. It is an expression of how I, someone who also travels for work and works in entertainment, views relationships and love and life.

It is hard to keep a dead fandom alive. It takes time and authentic love for what you're doing, both of which the larger fandom population would not be exposed to, because one must go looking for it.

The anger and vitrol towards petekey largely seems to be volleying shots at an enemy that has long since left. That which you do not enjoy or are bored with does not make it your enemy.

I encourage those of you who claim to have no ill will towards petekey, to check out some of the lovingly crafted fics instead of focusing on those who have lobbed a tweet or tiktok from a place of irony. These works are rare and and created from a place of authenticity and I am very honored to share a space with them.

Inspired by @utoarts adorable fanart featuring Dave Miller losing his plush Bonnie prize in a claw machine

He’s almost got it.

The claws close around the upside down plush rabbit’s figure, sinking into the neck and clasping one loop of its dapper bright red bow. The machine has always been finicky, but hours of free time have allowed him to hone his skills, making him an expert on collecting memorabilia from the now defunct pizzeria. He knows precisely how much pressure to apply to each button; the finesse required to get those oft flimsy bits of metal to clutch in just the right places. Of course he has keys to all of the prize machines and he could simply claim everything outright, but there is no challenge in that. And if there’s one thing Dave Miller likes, it’s a challenge.

It had taken him some time to maneuver the replica guitar-playing mascot into the correct position, knowing to attempt to retrieve the purple plush in its original position resting upright would never work. So he’d had to move it a bit, pinching a limb here and there until he’d gotten it into this current ideal placement. He watches raptly as the arm lifts, the object of his desire dangling scant inches from the sharp nose virtually pressing against the glass case, when a loud crash nearby startles him, making him jostle the machine, the seemingly secure hold on the toy rabbit suddenly loosening. He curses, his palm slapping the window in frustration, staring in disbelief as the stuffed animal slips free after this final grievance, tumbling back down to rest atop its brethren. It is now close to the side of the case, where he knows the bowed out shape of the claws will interfere with getting a proper grip this time. Virtually impossible, even for a skilled person like himself.

With a final disappointed grimace at the arcade machine, he finally turns away, intent on finding out what—or whom—had interrupted his near perfect performance. There seems to be a great deal of noise coming from the kitchen, and if he didn’t know better, he’d swear it was Chica nosing around in there, but the animatronic is stationed onstage at the moment. All of the mascots were.

Which means this was someone else. An intruder.

It’s been awhile since the last break in, so he supposes it was only a matter of time before someone decided to invade the shuttered restaurant on some dare or in search of something of value to pawn. Whoever it was, they were clearly novice burglars; they were not even attempting to conceal their rummaging. The security guard has no trouble moving soundlessly into the kitchen, the beam of his flashlight training around until it illuminates the source of the disturbance.

A small cat is nosing around, searching for sustenance.

Dave relaxes his grip on the flashlight, frowning as the animal notices his appearance and turns to approach. He’s never really been a cat person, and he swears that all felines know this, still insistant on trying to convert him to be more sympathetic towards their kind. This one—young, not quite a kitten but not fully an adult yet, either—is clearly part of this group, letting out a soft cry and nudging his ankle with its head before rubbing the length of its body along his pants leg.

“Oh, don’t do that. Hey…” He sighs, already noticing the amount of hair it’s leaving behind on his ebony uniform pants. “How did you get in here, anyway?” He lifts the light again, shining it around the room, making the abandoned stainless steel shelving and appliances gleam briefly before discovering the panel covering one of the vents has been knocked loose. He moves closer, his new feline companion following, once again rubbing against his leg while he crouches down to examine the opening. “Rusted,” he murmurs, squinting at the screw he’s lifted from the floor. Well, that was remedied easily enough. He should probably check other portals of entry and egress like this during his next set of rounds. The building was getting older. Just like him.

The cat takes advantage of his new positioning to nuzzle his hand, mewing for attention. Dave frowns again. Easy enough to let the stray back outside, but…he can’t quite bring himself to do it. Getting soft, old man? he chides himself.

“I suppose,” he says to his visitor, deciding that talking to the creature wasn’t really any odder than anything else that happens around Freddy’s, “that a dinner break is in order.” There’s a turkey sandwich waiting in the small refrigerator in his office. He could spare a few morsels. After that, though, the vagrant was on its own, he resolves. He absently strokes along the animal’s spine before he even realizes what he is doing. He can feel the vertebrae. Too thin, like himself. In the beginning, his weight loss had been intentional, a deliberate choice to help disguise his appearance. As of late, consuming food has become something he does at random moments. Many nights the food he brings—if he even remembers to bring it—goes untouched, simply because he is too distracted by other things.

Dave shakes himself, standing up with a noticeable click of protest from his knee joints. He’ll repair the vent later, he decides. First, the meal. He actually almost has an appetite this evening.

“Come along, then,” he invites to his companion. “I’m not going to carry you.”

He would, in fact, if the situation required it, but the feline seems to understand his intentions, eagerly padding beside him. He flips the desk lamp on when he returns to his office, glancing at the surveillance monitors to reassure himself that there were no other threats lurking while he’d been distracted by the stray, then retrieves his bagged lunch and a bottle of water from the fridge.

Sinking into the office chair, the security guard begins unwrapping his sandwich, his eyes resting on the bottle of spring water he’d already begun consuming earlier in the shift. He supposes he should offer the cat a drink as well. Which means he’ll need a bowl. Which means he’ll have to head back to the kitchen again. Might as well just fill it from the tap while he’s in there.

“You’re causing quite a ruckus,” he mutters, noting both pants legs have now been thoroughly covered in white fur. The Tuxedo meows in agreement, once again following him back to the kitchen and then accompanying him on the return trip to the office while Dave carefully balances the small ceramic bowl to avoid spilling it.

“Alright. Here you go. Give me a second and you’ll have your supper.” He sets the bowl down on the floor near the corner of the desk and the cat immediately investigates, taking a few grateful laps. Dave busies himself with unwrapping his sandwich, pulling the top layer of honey wheat bread away, then shredding some of the turkey piled inside with his fingers. The intruder instantly notices this activity, perhaps smelling the food, hopping up on the desk and padding around the controls for the security cameras, mewing in eagerness.

“No, hey, come on, not up here. Alright, fine. But you’d better not get anything on the equipment,” he admonishes, laying a few scraps of meat down which the young animal eagerly gobbles down, making a pleased chirping sort of sound and looking for more seconds later. “We’re not going to make a habit of this,” he murmurs, deciding the cat needs the protein more, removing the rest of the turkey and feeding it to his new friend. Bread, mayo, and lettuce for himself it is, then.

“Still hungry? The vending machines have long since been picked clean, I’m afraid,” he says around a mouthful of food, taking a swig from the water bottle to wash it down while the cat licks his fingers. He gives it a few scratches between the ears. “Not that there was anything in there that would have interested you.” The cat begins purring, its eyes sliding shut as he lightly scrapes beneath its chin with his fingernails. “That’s the spot, huh?”

Green eyes reopen, regarding the benefactor. The black and white animal is on the move again, this time seeking out Dave’s lap. It begins kneading the man’s thighs before it settles, the claws still unsheathing and retracting, the purring continuing at a considerable volume.

“Hey. I have to get back to work, you know.” He strokes the cat from its head down to its tail. He can’t recall the last time he had an animal snuggling against him like this. He’d never allowed pets into his home despite his children’s many requests, citing they were a lot of work and no one in the family would be around enough to give them the proper care they deserved. He still stands by that decision, but maybe just one wouldn’t have been so terrible. A cat like this one, perhaps. Well, it was a moot point now. There is no longer a family to contend with.

For a time Dave continues sitting there, petting the cat who appears to have now fallen asleep. He doesn’t have the heart to disturb it, merely watching the monitors, letting his thoughts wander. He’s startled when he realizes just how much time has passed. He should be doing rounds. Repairing that broken vent. Having another go at the claw machine. Bonnie was a lost cause, but Foxy seems like a possible win. He’s already developing a strategy to acquire it.

But his plan will not be implemented his evening. Morning, actually. Nearly dawn. The end of his shift. It seems the other duties and tasks will go unfinished as well. Tomorrow night, then.

For now, he has to decide what to do with the cat.

The creature has since woken from his nap, sniffing around for crumbs it might have missed on the desk’s surface before hopping down for another sample of water. The former pizzeria owner regards the animal solemnly. He can’t leave it to fend for itself in the alley outside. The interior of the restaurant isn’t safe without his protection. That really only leaves one option.

“Fine,” he grumbles, rising to his feet. His companion blinks at him, waiting for the door to open. “But this is only temporary. Got it?” He gathers his coat and car keys from the locker nearby, leading the feline to the main entrance. Once the front doors are gated and the lock secured, he escorts the stray to his car. The cat immediately takes up residence in his lap, its two front paws resting on the steering wheel.

“I’m not sure this was the best idea. Maybe I should have put you in a box or something.” Dave readjusts his position, trying to coax the animal into a safer spot. There. At least it was lying down now. Luckily he doesn’t have far to go. His apartment is just a few minutes away.

Of course, there is the matter of food. A litter box. He’s going to have to stop at the store.

“I’ll drop you off first, then I’ll run back out to get supplies. You see how much trouble you’re causing?” He shakes his head as the cat begins purring again and he can’t resist sneaking in a few more affectionate scratches before he starts the engine. Not the prize he’d originally intended on taking home, but a victory all the same.

AI Manipulations of Rings of Power. (Longish)

Saw the AI edits of Haladriel scenes being altered by GenAI to make the characters* kiss. I have seen chatter about it and the negative implications of creating or interacting with AI generated content.

At the risk of being nuanced, (feel free to block or scroll past this) it interests me what exactly is the concern with it and why. To be clear, I do work in an industry that is both working to incorporate and profit off AIs while simultaneously my own job is increasingly at risk by the same products or we are forced to use them for productivity reasons.

Some reasons that make sense to me that you would not want AI content would be

1. Legal and copyright infringement of the ownership of the art or source material used to train the AI models. Stolen work, no credit or payment to artists

2. It’s generally shitty, sloppy, uncanny valley. Which aesthetically I think most people would be against

3. It directly competes against manual labor of a human, devalues work, replaces jobs, or floods the market so creators never can be separated, investment in a skill or art form isnt worth it.

4. It extremely energy intensive, the environmental implications can he huge with the climate crisis.

5. Its being shoveled in our faces by overhyped tech bros because they think its cool and can find gullible investors for, like NFTs and crypto curriencies

6. Deep fake abuse with AI, making up fake news, abusing a real person image in a degrading way without consent.

I think all of these are serious issues with AI.

The stuff that was shared about Sauron and Galadriel kissing does it materialize those concerns? I’m going to assume that it may for the first one, legal and copyright ownership of training data. Im not a lawyer, and there are also some AI models trained on legally owner content or public domain / open source content. I have no way of knowing what models were used by the GenAI that made those haladriel kisses, so we probably have to assume they may have questionable provenance, and I think by that alone we should boycott those.

Now what if someone used a more solidly vetted model or genAI service without those legal issues? What if the artists do get paid or some form of royalties?

The kiss videos themselves were ok, maybe halfway believable, there were obviously the weird uncanny ai artifacts and stuff. It’s objectively worse than if ROP had actually filmed a kiss with live actors in the show proper. But who am I to judge whether that slop is aesthetically pleasing to someone else or not? Sometimes I have found AI art that is truly bizarre in that this is too weird surrealness quality like looking into a dream while being awake. I’m not sure that this feeling is necessarily wrong to enjoy on its own.

Regarding the AI replacing jobs argument. I suppose it depends what we mean. They were never going to remake ROP Season 1 or 2. Morfydd and Charlie won’t be offered the same role if another company were to buy the rights and make Rings of Power reboot. We will never get those kisses on screen. Maybe you can say that if people were fed content for Haladriel you could give them that almost infinitely by GenAI and then those people would be less likely to consume or pay for some other newer media that might otherwise give a satisfactory ETL with backstory and build up equivalent to what ROP has done with Haladriel? I’m not sure how to weigh that, it might be true? I tend to think these AI kisses arent replacing any creative workers in the film/tv industry. I don’t think we say that fanfic reusing known characters competes with original written stories (or do people argue this?) although i suppose it does on some level. Do people boycott fanfiction?

Along these lines, what about the actors consent and deep fake aspects? Personally, I don’t see how the AI images are more offensive or harmful than fanart which uses the actors depictions to do all sorts of things, stabbing, killing, kissing, screwing and everything and everyone in between. Or fan edits which use clever editing and overlay soundtracks with pointed lyrics which completely change the artistic intent of the actors /creatives who made the original in a particular way, say make two characters have a romantic chemistry that wasn’t there in the original? Or even the old photoshop manipulation stuff? I thought we’re ok with this in the fandom world, is this that different?

I’m not saying I like AI or you need to. I probably wont interact with it and try to avoid it personally wherever I can. But I do wonder if the arguments people are making against ROP AI edits are actually in good faith? Because then i question why other kinds of fan creations are acceptable?

WE DO ANYTHING is now officially a comic and we're going to be releasing all 36 available pages and 3 sunday comics today!

Uploading schedule: 4-panel comics uploaded every Monday-Saturday depending on availability. Sunday comics are uploaded in a special edition. Every once in a while, long comics will be released.

Ask status: Open. Ask us anything. Once the Introduction Arc finishes we will be open to answer any questions in the 4-panels.

Premise: Objects do stuff. Hijinks pursue. Demons, objects, humans, aliens, furries exist in one world and one random freelance crew WE DO ANYTHING is stuck handling the chaos in their world. Anything can and will happen. To sum up the message:

Seeing a fair number of posts lately from transfems wishing they had known a trans person who would have told them when they were younger that they're trans, and it's been bothering me. First of all because it puts the onus of responsibility on this mysterious, cool, older, wiser transwoman to break the egg out of their shell, which I thought we agreed was a toxic ideal back when we called them Manic Pixie Dream Girls.

Second, and more importantly, because in the ideal scenario, in which the egg is very definitely a closeted transgirl, and the more open transwoman is genuinely just trying to help the egg find her true self, being forceful about it can set that discovery back years, even decades.

Source: It literally happened to me.

In my late teens, I played an MMORPG called City of Heroes, and my best friend in that game would later reveal to me that she is a transwoman. As I aged into my mid twenties, we got to meeting up IRL and going to anime conventions together, and she'd inevitably broach the topic of me trying more feminine presentation. Not even telling me she saw signs, just subtly trying to steer me in the right direction. She was particularly enthusiastic about seeing me in a skirt.

Every single time it happened, I'd get mad and shut down.

There's a psychological phenomenon in which, when someone holds a set of deeply held beliefs, and those beliefs are challenged by verifiable evidence, the cognitive dissonance causes the person to double down, and hold to those beliefs even harder. That's why right-wingers are Like That, but it applies just as much to all of us. I'll get back to this concept in a bit.

When I was around 15, an anime aired in Canada called Cardcaptor Sakura, or Cardcaptors as it was localized. Something about the exact stage of development I was, and seeing Sakura getting to set aside her mundane responsibilities to dress up in cute costumes and go out on magical adventures, it called to my closeted little girl heart. I have a vivid memory of staring in the mirror, holding my hair to look like Sakura's and imagining myself as her. As a girl. I have many more memories of looking at feminine characters and thinking "gods I wish I could look/dress like that", but Sakura was the first.

I kept it fully to myself, because I had grown up in the late 80s and 90s - before the word 'transgender' was commonly known, before media depicted us as anything but objects of mockery or horror. It was a deeply ingrained and societally reinforced belief that Boys Are Boys and Girls Are Girls, and never the two shall cross.

So when my best online friend tried to convince me to be more feminine, that cognitive dissonance would kick in and I'd shut down. Even though she was objectively correct that I was a closeted transgirl, it was her word against the word of my entire upbringing and societal viewpoint.

What actually helped, what actually put a dent in my egg, was the fact that she simply existed as a transwoman, she was visible and proud. That existence challenged my preconcieved notions in a way that could not be resisted.

From there, it was a matter of time and continued exposure.

Another friend who explained to me what 'cisgender' meant, and who eventually started leaning into transmasc presentation. A romantic partner who came out as genderqueer and helped me understand the concept of 'nonbinary'. Transgender content creators who posted about their experiences online - special shoutout to demilypyro and assumptionprime, two of the most influential voices for me while I was figuring this out, but far from the only ones.

The shields of my egg were down. It was primed for hatching.

On April 22, 2022, I was looking up some fanart of Hex Maniac from Pokemon X/Y, who I had cosplayed at a convention three years before, and thinking of how good it felt to wear that dress. How good it felt to look like her. How good it felt… to be a girl.

…Later that day, I went to my old City of Heroes friend, practically begging her for help. How do I know if HRT is what I want? How do I know if I should transition? How do I know if I'm really a girl?

She knew. She always knew. She tried to tell me, but I wasn't ready to listen. Not yet.

The point of all of this is that one transperson telling an egg they're trans is not a solution to the problem. The problem is that society has tried very hard to make us the outliers, to make us the weirdos, but society is losing that war. If you want to help the eggs of the world, be visible, be proud, and treat being trans as something normal and beautiful. Don't tell them unless they ask, just… be there.

Eggs hatch when they're ready, and not a moment sooner.

What if I made a whole post about Blaze

Wouldn't it be funny if I did that?

Blaze MyStreet (that's his name now) is the gayest character in the entire aphverse and I am tired of him being slept on. That's not to say that people don't like Blaze, they do. He was a popular character, but not in the way other characters are popular. It's hard to find other people who have him as a favorite character, and if you're a fan of Minecraft Diaries, most people forgot he was in that series because he was in like an episode of Season 3 and even I forgot about Season 3 outside of that. He's liked, but not in the way people can really latch onto characters in this series. More passively liked, because it's really hard to hate him.

And even in MyStreet, his ultimate conclusion is just bad. It's bad. I don't have any other words for it, it just sucks. Blaze being mind controlled and then killed off right before the finale was just unnecessary. It didn't add anything. This season had already implied to kill Melissa, and made it clear it wasn't afraid to kill off characters. There was no reason to do this other than to keep people hooked and make them have an emotional reaction to the episode.

And it worked! Most of the times I look up Blaze fanart, I find art of him as an angel, or in heaven with another character, or just art of him dying. And I don't object to making fanart out of these moments it just... it sucks opening his wiki and seeing "Status: Deceased" every time. It sucks going to find content of this character only to find a majority of it is just angst around a death I've actively tried to forget.

SO LET'S TALK ABOUT WHY BLAZE IS THE BEST CHARACTER IN MYSTREET AND WHY YOU SHOULD ALL (yes even you) GIVE HIM MORE LOVE AND ATTENTION

Did you guys know Blaze is canonically not straight and probably polyamorus? That isn't my headcanons, that's in the text. Sure it's all in mini-games, but the mini-games are supplemental material to the canon work, and when Blaze gets so little actual character work, I am unashamed to pull from these sources. And in these sources Blaze has stated that he is very much one of the fruits.

In one mini-game Aaron says "You can't marry two people Blaze, you know that!" And Blaze's response is "I do?"

In another that I am rationally normal about, Aphmau stumbles in on Blaze with his head on Garroth's lap in a closet, WHILE THEY ARE UNDER MISTLETOE! And Blaze says "Your thighs are soft" while Garroth comments on how soft his hair is?!

And this is all in tandem with the fact that he at the very least canonically had a thing for Dottie, and it's very easy to say he might have harbored feelings for Daniel, Rylan, OR Aaron

So, we've established Blaze as one of them queers, this is great. Aphmau series really struggle with having gay characters at all, let alone good ones, but there's a quality queer character just sitting right there! Blaze is charming, funny, doesn't take up more space than he needs, and while it isn't in the test of MyStreet, I'll take what I can get. And he only gets better from here!

Wanna add drugs and stoner stuff to your next rewrite? Blaze is literally RIGHT THERE!! He's been around since Phoenix Drop High, and his birthday is literally April 20th, the writers are not being subtle about it. And in MCD, he's technically been around as a misspelled name since episode 40, and if you're making a rewrite, just add him in sooner.

Oh, you want Aaron to have a bigger support system that isn't just Aphmau in earlier seasons? Blaze and the werewolf pups are right there and would totally all live together in a house on My Street or Lover's Lane! Just saying! You want these characters to have a vector to explore polyamory? Blaze is basically an open book and very much agrees with the "a friend of Aaron/anyone else is a friend of mine" and would be willing to share his experiences. You want someone for characters to confide in that they normally wouldn't under normal circumstances? Blaze loves getting high and having vent sessions neither of them will fully remember in the morning.

And if we take it to MCD, he can provide a lot of this and more. Fleshing out of the werewolf experience, an actual werewolf that's at least closer to a part of the main cast than any other ones, AND you get to have him smoking out the other characters. Why wouldn't you make MCD Blaze the inventor of the first bong in Ru'aun? Literally why wouldn't you do that? What reason do you have not to do that? That's objectively great.

Blaze is a character who easily lends himself well to comedy and emotional scenes by being vulnerable all the time, and having the ability to bring levity when needed. He knows when you need to just scream into a pillow, or when he needs to pass you a joint and put a movie on in the background. There's not a lot given for him, but enough to build a solid character out of. He's stated to have an extended family, and a lot of siblings. He was probably the oldest one and had to help raise them, and would easily be able to empathize with older siblings in this show, especially ones who may have had to take care of a younger sibling while growing up due to absent parents (cough cough Melissa).

He also stood up to bullies for Daniel and was willing to make enemies with his entire pack, even his Alpha, just to make sure Daniel wouldn't get hurt or harassed. He's fiercely loyal and absolutely willing to throw hands at a moments notice for the right reason. It doesn't take a lot to make Blaze a ride or die friend, you just have to not be a dickhead and show that you're actually a decent person. He's very sociable and outgoing, a bit of a loudmouth, but he's got a good heart and generally gets along with anyone you could think to pair him up with.

I'm serious, send me a character and I will tell you how they could have a beautiful friendship/romance/something else with them and how it fleshes out both their characters. Blaze just does that by being around people. I'm serious. Please do this.

I didn't make an Instagram account in 2018 titled "Blaze_Best_Werewolf" (or something like that) with a self-made profile picture of Blaze wearing a flower crown and actively get in fights with people over MyStreet season 6 for my boy to be slept on in this manner.

I really like your answer about Rayne/Mash. I also don't really hype with it since I found them... awkward? It's popular and I've seen so many fanarts but I ended up confuse why people forced them to be a couple while they didn't have that much interaction (I came up thinking "well they're both popular and good-looking, people simply ship them because it seems 'yummy' and appealing). But then your objective answer enlightened me, by analyzing their interactions, the reasons behind their behavior and the chance of development from it. People keep on forget that Rayne put his trust on Mash simply because Mash saved Finn so many times (the things he could not do properly for a long time). Tbh one of the reasons why Rayne/Mash is not my cup of tea is because in some fanfics, most writers tried to pushed Finn away as if he's nothing important to both Rayne and Mash. (There's no way Rayne would left Finn behind only to be with his-brother's-best-friend that he only knew for a while, and in other hands, Mash would be oblivious into this kind of thingy so I can't imagine he would have a crush on Rayne).

The only dynamic I could sense from them is Rayne saying something like "Mash Burnedead, please take care of Finn because I'll not be around anymore. Make sure nobody would harm him" and Mash flatly answered "you don't need to say that Rayne-kun. I already did it this whole year" (then the atmosphere became heavy lol). Well yeah people are shipping for fun, but it would be nicer if they keep it in-character.

I see the appeal, and usually I would've boarded the ship for the same reasons as everyone else but ace MCs like Mash made it really hard to focus on the romantic aspects without it feeling forced, so I ended up not enjoying the PDA fan content made of any Mash ship. But the best Rayne/Mash content I see is with Finn hand-holding these emotionally stunted teens through the first few months of their relationship. I understand why cutting Finn out makes for easier story-telling, but they are missing out on a gold mine of potential interaction 🥲🥲🥲

This is just a personal theory, but I think media depicting romantically involved characters thinking exclusively about each other when it comes to romance really ruined it since there's an expectation that family should 'read the room and step out' instead of integrating themselves with the couple so that they don't 'ruin the special moment'. Just as there should be privacy for the couple, they shouldn't use it as reason to shut everyone else out. A couple can still have fun hanging out with their friends.

I agree with your preferred Rayne Mash dynamic, and if they ever ventured into something more romantic, I don't think the usual blushing, hand-holding, and kissing depictions fit them well tbh. It'd be nice if there were more fan content with them doing the little things for each other (Rayne bringing cream puffs from Mash's shop to his staff, Mash coming to his office to test the magical tools, them conspiring together to find a birthday present for Finn...things like that)

As you've said, they're both stoic popular characters so I'm always extremely careful with interacting with fanarts on twitter (especially that one Delisaster Rayne artist), but unfortunately these contents bring in tsunamis of views. They're especially popular in the eastern fandom, which is the main target audience so I guess we're just stuck 🥲 But in-character is subjective depending on what experience the person used to interpret the source materials, so I try to keep an open mind and treat fan arts as separate from the source material. Of course, this also goes for my writing—I've made up so many headcanons of the Ames bros that I consider my version of them completely different from their canon selves (like cake and cupcakes tbh) at this point

The Concept of Panterus vs Objects [called PvO]

[+ something about me cuz why not]

a long long time ago, around 2019, i created a character called Cairo Night. It was a cat, because i was into Warriors, inspired by my arrowhead necklace with cairo night stone. But then boom, remote lessons from home. I was very bored, so i discovered BFDI and other Object Shows like Inanimate Insanity, Open Source Objects, i think you got what i mean. It pushed me to develop my art, i have a plenty of fanarts and other stuff (even on my kinda troll twitter account, i mean i didn't delete this account because of one great artist: JamyTheJam. Inspiring person. Also if someone is wondering why i said i am pan, that was some time ago i am bi huhuh lol).

And that's how Nighty, my first real object show oc was born.

so, before i discovered BFDI, i found out Ron Zhang, artist creating funny Windows vs Mac vs other things animations (in PowerPoint! ah yes Qwertyxp2000, those were the days!:). And then another boom, Jacob Kitts! Mac vs PC forever in my heart, still waiting to see what you want to create! if you want, of course. Just know i love your work.

All mentioned artists inspired me to create PvO. It is one of my dreams to create that and not get censored for anything or thrown on yt kid$. But i also want to create what i my creativity would like to surprise me. Ah, it's more the lack of motivation and now the time that has made me do something about it only now... it's better than nothing.

(wait, should i mention there that i love old Terminator? nah, maybe it's too digressive)

Later, when i was in my second year of high school, i discovered Half Life series. Fantastic piece of art. And then... Team Fortress 2. Game that pulled me out of a difficult mental situation by analyzing the plot and other things (it's cool okay, also go check 7th part yoo). In the meantime, i fell in love with SFM, yes this spaghetti code animation program... My another dream is to create my own animation for song Money by Jon & Vangelis. YES INSPIRED BY THAT GREAT EXISTING ANIMATION, BUT I HAVE AN IDEA FROM VIBING TO THIS SONG FOR ANOTHER, MY OWN, AH. And Deus Ex from 2000, retro games enjoyer mode on.

okay, coming back to the topic.

a lot happens in my life. One friend fell in love with me, with other friend i had to end the relationship quite sharply because she was a toxic person, as it turned out after so many years... what a shame. And if it wasn't for my interference, she wouldn't have met and wouldn't have been with her "boyfriend"... i'm worried about him, that something will happen to him by her behavior, but he should be able to handle it. I don't want to explain anything more about this "former, not nice friend", i shattered this gemory, but i can conclude this finished thread with these words:

But also past shaped me, so i am now a person who extremely doesn't trust others much. That's why i fell in love (again not human lol) with Hitman games series. Agent 47 is my comfort character, no matter how strange it may sound. I know he is a technically improved clone of man made as killing machine, now in WoA is like 60-70years old and is not John Wick. And i must point out, Hitman Blood Money and newest World of Assassination trilogy are definitely my favorite. About Absolution, it's generally a very good game with nice graphics, but this out-of-character 47 ah pain is... bad. It's not a good Hitman series game, but i enjoy playing Absolution and i reccomend, BUT NOT AS THE FIRST HITMAN GAME, NOOO. Try demo of WoA ;D

dang, Agent 47 has an intriguing psychological portrait. It's my knowledge of just official games series, excluding the most of Absolution's plot and of course completely excluding those two movies. Man, did the directors even play BM, old Hitman 2 or other classics that were current at that time? i still dream of making movie from few BM missions (to use Vegas soundtrack by Jesper Kyd ahh i adore this OST)... but maybe i should keep my "Bieszczady/Warszawa mission" heh (maybe i would like to share of my concepts... maybe.)

i bought my deluxe ver of WoA on "weekend sale" on steam, it was worth my around 500PLN and on quick sale it was 200PLN... i have never come back from university so quickly to top up my Steam account in the store. Completely worth it, even i have potato laptop for this game and almost everything on the lowest settings lmao.

and now, after this very shorten and incomplete story of my life from the end of 2019, i decided to go back to my PvO project because of this video.

these were supposed to be animations in polish lang (with eng subtitles ofc) called "Łindołsy" what is a double plural of windows with completely grotesque changing w to ł, it is read the same as in english like in words "where/what". We will pronounce it "łere/łat", i... okay, series called Panterus The Translator was also my idea to make funny translations and to enlighten that "pies" mean in polish "dog", or "Handschuhe" mean from german literally "shoes for hand", what are gloves of course.

i am a weirdo from 2005, now studying nursing and dreaming of become surgical nurse. I have some... predispositions. I am not afraid of blood (nah, i even like it- wait what are some people in suits doing in my room? men, calm calm i'm not gonna look into this light! no no i am not cooperating with aliens!!). I have two little monkeys called younger brothers, so i understand something about siblings. I am kinda biochemistry nerd, now into mentioned Hitman series. I have almost always been a tomboy girl, now i see it evolved into this "elegant business woman with shirt and crease trousers and suede oxford shoes ohh and dark waistcoat yess and leather gloves ahhh and dark autumn coat obviously, eventually a nice gray or red tie and for exchange for waistcoat can be black suspenders". My other side, because i have two sides is tactical testicle any turtleneck, good pants with a lot of pockets ready to rolling in the forest, nice natural leather shoes that are both elegant and no mud will ever destroy them, fingerless gloves with knuckle protectors, sum cool sunglasses cover on my prescription glasses, sum knee pads and my airsoft colt m1911 (+ water guns i have, and funny toy guns). Those two sides fight in me with my retro addiction to CRT TVs and making my own weirdcore tv head from eva foam, inspired by RGB from The Property of Hate... (i am trying to help with polish translation of this comic, i invite you there.)

I didn't have internet access then either, so i didn't know those creatures exist... well, and that's how it stayed. Improved to tired of life anthro domestic cat that was intended to be a panther. That's how i called her, Panther.

of course it developed and she's now Panterus, or rather Panti, maybe i would do a "human version" of her but... ehh, this is only one furry-looking character i got, not counting her sewn-grandma... i never liked drawing human heads. Same as Egyptians with their gods. Trust me, i am mostly sarcastic but this time i am honest, i am not furry. And i am not saying furries are bad, man, think a bit and i don't throw everyone into one bag that all are bad. Man, if you're thinking like that get out, it's my place for thinking people, wanting to develop intellectually or laugh to relieve stress, idk.
