See, my big Rivalshipping “problem” right now is just how many AUs I have swirling around my head that I just feel like I will not have the time to do anything with (thanks dissertation, though I chose you myself, so I’m the only one to blame here).
Let’s give some examples of ones I’ve done a little bit of work on:
1. They’re just dragons
Look, how was I supposed to not do that. Here I’m thinking very sort of stereotypical European dragons, and I’ve even got a juvenile little Mokuba running around with fluff all the way along his spine, as well as some bumbling scientists trying to figure out what the hell is going on with these two adult dragons just living together, that’s not how that works. This one has some pretty heavily implied... I guess animal(?) abuse – they all used to be in captivity – so that’s less fun, but not really a big focus of anything.
2. Demon!Kaiba & Vampire!Yugi
So, I saw art on pixiv and felt inspired and wrote two “chapters” and it’s a whole thing. Except there’s not enough to connect the two points in time and some details missing that I want to add before the... spicier part that I already have. Featuring real angry Vampire!Atem that just wants his fledgeling, his li’l babey – Yugi – back safe and sound and absolutely threatens Kaiba with murder in the process (those two already had beef, it’s kinda how Yugi ends up in Kaiba’s “care” in the first place).
3. Oh good grief, I made everyone Pokémon
Excuse me while I combine two of my brainrots. What I have at the moment basically centres around Yugi evolving into his final stage – Togekiss – thanks to the Stone that Seto – Hydreigon – just sort of accidentally finds one day while out and about and then the really fluffy ensues right at the end. Just Pokémon, no humans and they all just sorta live out in the wild. I will also reveal that I definitely have shorthands for these Pokémon (because I sometimes think I’m clever): Yugikiss and Blue-Eyes Hydreigon. don’t look at me like that
And now
Things that take up far too much space in my brain but I haven’t written anything for:
1. They’re just big cats
Seto’s one of those white tigers and Yugi’s a not-fully-black panther, which means you can still kinda see his leopard spots. Probably something about a rescue centre, idk.
2. Cetacean merpeople
Meaning in this case dolphin/orca types because fish just do not line up with mammals anatomically, their spines bend in completely different directions. Seto and Mokuba are both orcafolk, while everyone else are bottlenose dolphins. I actually tried writing this but scrapped it because I was dissatisfied with what I came up with, so we’re back to square one.
3. Oh look, more Pokémon: Soul Partners edition
I’m sticking with my guns on Hydreigon and Togekiss for Kaiba and Yugi here, although, fun fact, Atem has always had his own separate one: Luxray. I just have this image in my head of the Yugi-Kaiba DSOD Duel and just as Kaiba’s standing there, doing his whole thing, feeling pretty unintimidated with his fully evolved, three-headed, pseudo-legendary Dark/Dragon-type against Yugi and his Togetic, the little bugger finally evolves into Togekiss before the Duel even starts and Kaiba just gets to have a moment of ‘oh shit, that’s a Fairy-type’. Just... realising the genuine threat that Yugi has always had the potential to pose, if he so wished.
4. Aaaand even more Pokémon: this time we’re going to Sinnoh
because, yes, I am excited for the remakes, DPPt are my childhood games I know them like the back of my hand The basics are: Atem just is the Luxray this time around and the ace of Yugi’s team; he also happens to be a bit of a cockblocker; Kaiba’s starter – Piplup – is a babby girl; Yugi’s grandpa is the professor here; the two boys face off for the champion title Gen 1 style and you’ll never guess who wins; don’t worry, happy endings all around. I have so many things already planned out for this one, but nothing written, I’ve even planned the final battle uuuuuggggghhhhh
and don’t you even dare get me started on this giant pirate AU that I just keep adding more shit to, it will be the longest thing I have ever written if I ever manage to finish the darn thing I have put way too many things on my own plate

Fins and Fans
He had thought jumping off the yacht was the only thing that could save them. But the ocean was vast and deep and it might have been better if they had died in the explosion. Anything had to be better than this...this...
“Ooh, will you say it? Say ‘I think he got the point.’” The mershark’s face pulled into a grin that showed off its rows of teeth. Floating in the bay behind it, an entire school of merfolk’s eyes lit up with hope. “Here, we even have a replica harpoon! Kelp made it.” A mersquid waved shyly, a driftwood harpoon clutched in a few of its tentacles.
...this oceanic finned-fan-conference, with all of its reminders of his greatest sea-based near-deaths. News traveled fast underwater, and the merfolk had quickly converged on the spot of his latest rescue.
“Yes, Bond,” Q said, smirking. “Say your little pun! Your fans deserve some indulgence after floating us to shore and treating us so nicely.” He waved the half-empty bottle of mystery alcohol that a winking crabfolk had shoved into his hand.
“I don’t give a damn,” Bond said, which just made the merfolk cheer.
“He doesn’t give a damn!” an octofolk repeated. “Just like that time with the submarine!”
“Or that time with those cliffs!” an aged merseal said. She had saved him from a riptide when he was only a boy.
“Or that time with the other yacht!” a merdolphin said, chittering their amusement. “That’s double points in Bond Bingo, saving you when there’s a yacht involved. Lucky bastards.”
“You know, we all just thought you were a good swimmer, what with the complete lack of nautical assistance mentioned in your after-action reports,” Q muttered to him. His face was pinking from the sun and the booze, and his white Stand Back: I’m Going to Try Science undershirt clung to his chest the same way his tartan boxers clung to his thighs. His trousers hadn’t survived the rescue due to a perhaps-on-purpose incident with the mershark.
Neither Bond nor Q had complained about the incident. Q, in fact, seemed to be rather enjoying himself. There was perhaps even a direct correlation between the amount of Q’s enjoyment and the amount of Bond’s embarrassment. Arse.
“Can you go on a mission in the Pacific next?” a merman with a tail like a clownfish asked. “It’s been awfully Atlantic-heavy the last few years; it’s lucky I was visiting some relatives and could see you.”
“No, the Arctic!” a massive orcafolk boomed. “He hardly ever takes a nosedive in there!”
“Um...I think he’d freeze to death, Moss,” the octofolk pointed out.
“I have enough blubber to keep him warm,” the orcafolk said, eyeing Bond lustfully.
Q cleared his throat. “That’s my job,” he said. “Well, me and my cats. And my central heating. And my gadgets. You know. Hand warmers and things.”
There was a long silence, as of a largely underwater culture parsing words like ‘central heating’ and ‘cats.’ Then:
“I told you!” the mersquid crowed, nearly braining someone with the harpoon. “We get ten Bond Bingo points, not five! Me and Mako rescued him with a love interest, not a platonic co-worker!”
Q glanced at Bond. “Just out of curiosity, how many other people have they met?”
“Not that many! Honey Ryder was already friends with one,” Bond defended himself. “And Felix was with me in Florida, but of course he didn’t want to get reported to psych any more than I did.”
Q frowned. “But who knew about it who was a platonic co-worker?” he asked.
Bond cleared his throat. “Macau,” he said.
“Ah, Moneypenny.”
“She got on beautifully with a goldfish mermaid; they both had sparkling outfits and wit, and were much more interested in each other than in me.”
Q smiled. “And they both saved your arse.”
“I would have been fine.”
Q favored him with a skeptical side-eye.
“I’m always fine, aren’t I?” Bond prodded.
“Because you have your nautical support network!” the mershark jumped in.
“And your technological support network,” Q pointed out, grinning.
Probably bringing up the dragons, Bond’s aeronautical support network, or the griffins, his alpine support network, would only make Q smugger. Q could just discover them the next time he was on a mission with Bond that went pear-shaped and needed mythological intervention.

Stories
Longer narratives with complex character interaction and distinct through-lines. (Please note that this is not a free prompt - these are my own personal Wips.)
The Eternal General - A man is forced through a grueling ordeal in a low-fantasy world as the actions of the man he served as head general take shape as an unearthly monstrosity. This begins an endless bond of servitude to otherworldly forces and an eternity of different lifetimes (Features: Marcus, Rin, Ivan, Ytra.) This is a collaborative project with @fullyfunctionalminiaturebeehive.
Scratched Sky - Lifetimes and worlds away from where he began, Marcus finds himself in a world nearly destroyed through outside forces which took his likeness and were forestalled by an embittered and exhausted Ivan. He is forced into a life of recluse as we learn of the outfall of the creatures that Marcus has become bound to. (Features: Marcus, Ivan, Lynne, Shay.) This is a collaborative project with @fullyfunctionalminiaturebeehive.
Longbody Dragons - Below the ocean a reclusive empire reigns, and these dragons ferociously guard their own secrets. The Dragon King pits his many offspring against each other to determine who will succeed him and protect his empire from any interaction with the outside world. The twins, Shen and Su, take very different paths in life, but when Su's self-imposed exile comes to an end, there will be major change. (Features: Shen, Su, Dragon God Rahab, Ji-Ho.)
Gryphon and Dragon - Two creatures from another time that seem very out of place in a world where, from a technological dark age, a strange dieselpunk future has arisen. They must both unravel the strange mysteries of her past (who she is, why she is subservient to human will and whim), and going forward, ensure they understand his kind (what kind of a creature has the mind of a man but venom enough to fell him). When they find Gryphon's sisters, they are in for more than either of them is ready to take on, but out of duty and out of obligation they will go forward to whatever end. (Features: Gryphon the Sphinx, Dragon, Irina, Olga, Masha.)
Parnassus - A creature who at once seems beautiful, alluring, and otherworldly copes with being ripped from his homeland in an event that nearly destroyed him. Along the way he finds and gives much kindness to many, and the ways in which it trickles through their lives is complex and deep. (Features: Parnassus, Esquiline, Lucifer, the Tendriled Woman.)
The Voices - Strange and horrible creatures rise from the sites of massive human calamity in a slowly post-apocalyptic world. What they do, who they interact with, and what happens to them may be critical to the remainder of human life in the world (Features: The Voice of the Drowned, the Voice of the Decadant, the Voice of the Burned, the Bird.)
Humanfolk - ‘Humanity’ at the brink of collapse has split into three subgroups through various means, the humans, the flight-afflicted, and the merfolk. While once a hope of the last bastion of human thought, the merfolk had long since distanced themselves from land-dwelling humans and were considered little more than a food source. The flight afflicted are the result of a strange sickness that warps the mind and body - giving the precious gift of flight at the cost of reason and understanding. Humanity will have to find new ways to survive. (Features: Orcafolk, Flight Afflicted.) This story may blend with The Voices.
Vali the Dreamwalker - A story about surviving, enduring, and eventually thriving. Vali is gifted with the incredible ability to traverse and alter the dreams of any living thing, but ultimately, for all his efforts, healing will be his ultimate trial. (Features: Vali, Media, Oxalis, Fenn, A'thel, En'thel, B'rath, Ensen, Neis.)
Anton the Changed - A circus is abducted and altered by the fae for their own entertainment, some 100 years after this, one of their members manages to escape back to the mortal realm, although he has been permanently changed by the ordeal. He finds others that understand him and together they plan rescue of those he was bound with. (Features: Anton, Pleasant, King, Malachi, Samuel, The Fish.)
Anachronism - An immortal afraid of the ways in which the world changes, they have tried to keep to strange 'time bubbles' where the world stays still as time moves forward around them. When they are shunted from their last bastion of an older time, they are forced to confront the modern world and their own nature. (Features: Butler Cross, Rail.)
The Unable - Strange tentacle-headed creatures appear one day on our planet, inert apart from their subservience to any human whim. Their existence becomes a new economy, until, at last, one day they appear to awaken and develop wills of their own.
The Gardener - At the forefront of human bio-engineering and molecular botany, a strange and singular person lives in total recluse. Despite their successes, there is much they hide. They are forced to confront their own issues as they deal with corporate espionage, the ethics of synthetically made life and sapience, and reconciling a painful past. (Features: The Gardener, Glass.)
The Pitfighters - In a wold where manipulation of the human body can be pushed to tremendous and frightening physical extremes, underground pitfighting is a brutal blood sport fed by using the bodies of the illegal and the unwanted. Three different former pitfighters tell their stories in a political drama (Mercutio), a buddy road trip (Tac and Ephra), and a gentle love story (Tom and Zir) (Features: Mercutio, Tac, Tom, Ephra the Shifter, and Zir the Reptile Charmer)
Sinkhole City - In the world, strange portals to some other place are opening, and while they are dangerous, people seem drawn to them, and cities form around their edges. In this strange place Leon, recovering from a previous life, discovers many secrets and quirks of it, and the dramas that play out because of it. (Features: Leon, Lynne, the Horned Man, Rin, Ivan.)
The Beast of 1,000 Shadows - The monster lives far and away in distant hills and changes her form when she removes her pelt. She has different ones, but not many, and those that pass through her domain know to fear her. All but one. One who had been through many other things long before and marked them all on her skin in her own way. A wanderer and a wayfarer who found reason to pause. (Features: The Beast of 1,000 Shadows, The Tattooed Woman.)
Soft Minotaur - A version of the myth where the poor beast escapes with the help of two Athenian sacrifices, seeking only a simple life.
Quellus and Cipher - Raised in secret to be trained as the perfect king, the young man known only as Cipher (his real name lost - it was supposed to be a cipher for him to determine), suffers in the military academy where he has been pushed ahead, ahead, ahead, even though he'd rather retreat into the woods. When he is revealed as prince, his elder brother Quellus, with much hesitance and love, helps him flee from their war-torn society. (Features: Quellus, Cipher, Cipher's Sister.)
The Raw - ... I was going through some things. (Features: The Raw.)
The Unnamed World of the Four Schools - When a war for conquest comes to the Dark Mage's swamp, she is forced out of the neutrality that binds mages to lives of recluse. Reluctantly joining up with the mage, Arthur of the Woods, the two of them journey to forestall further conflict, and prevent a magic war that could damage the very fabric of reality. (Features The Dark Mage, Arthur of the Woods.)
The Unwitting Mage - Terrivald had lived a peaceful life under his brother's shadow, quietly enjoying a solitary life in his library, until a baffling artifact of elven making and a strange prophecy teleport him halfway across the world. As he journeys home, he must discern the purpose and abilities of said artifact, and whether or not he truly believes that he is some sort of savior figure, or if someone is simply having a laugh. (Features: Terivald, Navaras, Sandstorm.)
I often record my more memorable dreams as short fiction with accompanying illustrations. They are all tagged under 'Dream' and are sometimes a starting point for a longer piece of fiction.
I occasionally make short comics if I think the idea suits the medium.
My husband, @fullyfunctionalminiaturebeehive is working on a story involving Sihal, Farrow, Agate, Fall, Muriel, Rochelle, and others (side characters include Druzy, Saphire, Emerald, Snowflake Obsidian, etc.)
Some old stories may or may not see the light of day (but have some fragmentary existence in my portfolios) include: Mortalis, D.R.L.H., There are Places, Unfortunate Innocence, Vlasis and Lavinia, Lane Davenforth.

Alright, since i’m showing my characters,i figured i should show you this one.
Meet Madeline,a seventeen year old female who works with Merfolk, she mainly works with larger merfolk like The sharkfolk and orcafolk, mostly due to her calm nature rubbing off on their naturally rougher and more scary personalities enough so their easy to work with.
She currently works with a MerOrca named Tasha, who is sort of a mother figure to Madeline, making those two a perfect team.

As for why Wolf has purple eyes (in case anyone was wondering lol), his eyes actually used to be brown when he was younger, but he was experimented on and and augmented to adjust to living in space- including his eyes, so that's why they're purple bc they're cybernetics

God I love how you draw your orca characters
Thank you so much!!! Orcas have been my childhood passion all my life, they were the first things I ever drew! I started my whole art journey drawing orcas back on DeviantArt but as time went on and they weren't a very lucrative subject I got into other things (but also just naturally finding other muses lol) and relatively recently- within the past couple years, got back into drawing them more regularly! That's where my Orcafolk, and Wolf by extension, came from because I wanted an orca race for one of my headworlds!
I actually have a lot of orca ocs I've just had sitting around in private for a while but with posting Wolf today I'd love to start posting more of them as well! <3
