"Pacifism"

All my life, I lived in the hope that someone would help me - that a protector would watch over me. Not because I was afraid of what could happen to me…but because I was afraid of what would happen to everyone around me. So, I pledged pacifism. I spoke of mercy. I prayed for guidance. I strived towards peace.

But…..that was before.

Before, when I believed my words could reach anyone. Before, when I believed it a sin to take up arms. Before, when I understood so little about how the world works. There are those who words can never reach…and there are causes it would be sinful NOT to fight for!

They called me gentle…they called me innocent….they called me pure…but….but I am none of those things...!

Something has always laid buried deep within me - something full of despair and scorn. Something brimming with hatred for all that lives. No matter how gentle I tried to be, it snatched up everything the moment I let it out, until I was blessed with the opportunity to seal it away entirely.

But to do so any longer would be a sin. A sin of cowardice, to deny what I’ve been given for fear of the responsibility it demands. This world, the hatred that envelops it, is the exact same. This world, for all its spite, and all my pain, has taught me a lesson - One I’ve shirked for far too long.

"It is because I cherish life…that I must be willing to TAKE it!"

Происхождение Фестиваля цветения сакуры (Ханами/Йеуидо)

Антонию не удалось бы провести осмысленного анализа, не попади в его руки «Мемуары о вдовствующей императрице» — рукопись от лица Алькеми, наместника Южной ишубары, в прошлом также состоявшего на службе у Фарвати. Сыграв нежеланную свадьбу с императором Бенаном, та вскоре бежала из Хазиры (Хаслы) к прежнему — а к тому времени уже тайному — супругу, Исмилу. Алькеми был приставлен к ней в качестве личного стража. Этот период в подробностях освещают те самые мемуары, найденные во дворце Чансогак.

Если верить тексту, перед тем, как увидеться с суженым в Городе Башен спустя два года странствий, Фарвати остановилась в Поющих землях — её визит пришёлся аккурат на сезон цветения сакуры. Как пишет Алькеми, торжественное убранство деревьев растрогало тоскующую женщину до слёз: «Надеюсь, в следующий раз этим зрелищем мы будем любоваться уже вместе с Исмилом!» — процитировал её страж.

После воссоединением с избранником опальная императрица подняла мятеж — Бенан был свергнут. И пусть в результате она встала во главе Харихараллы, всё же не посмела узаконить брак с мужчиной, не происходившим из правящей столичной верхушки. А тем более — раскрыть его прямое родство с принцем Исамом: тогда последний был бы лишён права престолонаследия. Впрочем, при дворе и так с подозрением косились на излишне тёплые аудиенции предводительницы и подчинённого, поэтому ради сына пришлось их прекратить . Позже Поющие земли фигурируют в истории о карательном походе Исмила на Порт Лютни. В награду за важную победу молодой воитель получил пост генерал-губернатора провинции, и, обременённый новым положением, более не надеялся встретиться со своей пассией — долгих семь лет паре предстояло общаться лишь по переписке.

Согласно всё тем же мемуарам, прочтение одного из писем особенно взволновало императрицу. Когда Алькеми поинтересовался причиной, довольная Фарвати отметила, что хоть и не делилась с Исмилом чаяниями о предстоящем свидании, мысли партнёра полностью совпали с её. Она поспешила отправить восторженный ответ: «Надеюсь, после этой встречи наша чистая любовь перестанет быть тайной». оооооооооо оооооооооо

оооооооооо оооооооооо По прошествии семи лет влияние короны значительно укрепилось. Под видом традиционного паломничества Фарвати затеяла поездку по провинциям Харихараллы. Порт Лютни стал третьим пунктом в её путешествии — ровно в дни наиболее пышного цветения вишен. Там, под сенью нарядных крон, она спросила Исмила: «Почему бы нам не сыграть настоящую свадьбу?» Уже на следующее утро белые и нежно-розовые цветки сакуры, достигшие пика своей красоты, стали опадать один за другим. Кружа на ветру подобно причудливой метелице, лепестки создавали неповторимый фантастический пейзаж.

Следуя совету дворянина Бартока, охваченные чувствами Фарвати и Исмил забыли об осторожности и поспешили к сторожевой вышке на утёсе, откуда открывался наилучший вид. Там, в вероломной западне, их и настигла предательская стрела. Исмил, однако, успел заключить милую в спасательные объятия. Истекая кpoвью, он только и смог произнести: «Моя душа всегда… буде ждать тебя… здесь. Беги…»

Оперение стрелы, торчащей из спины возлюбленного, впилось в память Фарвати и терзало её до конца дней. Найдя и безжалостно расправившись с изменниками, она устроила церемонию прощания с супругом. С тех пор формальную часть этих проводов воспроизводили ежегодно даже после её смepти, когда традицию унаследовала новообразованная Западная ишубара: будучи бывшим союзником и близким другом Исмила, Надир, вероятно, разделял скорбь госпожи.

В наши дни при взгляде на сакуру, ставшую символом преданной любви, люди по-прежнему чествуют благородную жертву защитника императрицы. Мужчины часто упоминают его имя в романтических признаниях: «Подобно Исмилу, ради тебя я готов расстаться с жизнью. Прошу, прими мои чувства!»

Гордящийся своим достижением Антоний надеется, что истинное значение фестиваля больше не будет предано забвению. Как и пронзительные стихотворения Фарвати, что он передал нам:

P.S. Исмил — сын губернатора Махадеби, с которым Фарвати обручили ещё в детстве. Когда её отец, Шамир III, скончался, пришедший ко власти Бенан (Берон, Верон) расторг помолвку с иноземцем. Но пара всё же сыграла свадьбу в тайне ото всех и до конца дней скрывала свои отношения, а, следовательно, и происхождение сына.

My deaf spiderwoman OC, Marisol 🕷

Miles knows ASL and even tho it's the Insomniac version of him Imma headcanon all versions of Miles know ASL because that cool asf!

Marisol communicates solely in ASL. She's Italian-American and LOVES pastels and hearts.

In deaf culture they use light to alert and get others attention so I wanted to incorporate light into her fighting style. She uses flash bombs and the main part of her suit, which is based off of the Mirror Spider's reflective back, can blind temporarily enemies. The eyes of her suit allow her to see in the intense light and are very expressive (an important part of signing).

She's not fully flushed out yet and this is only the 2nd iteration of her design so she will definitely change in the future. But for now I want to figure out what her face looks like and draw her with clothes over her suit because she does so all the time.
