RANDOM THOUGHTS: We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd ep. 6 (rewatch)

(These are my random thoughts from my rewatch on the 30th of March 2024)

Since my rewatches may contain spoilers, I’m putting my random thoughts after the “Read More” link.

This is the last episode of this season (and the whole series), and I’m ready to enjoy the great moments with Shu Yi and Shi De and the moments with Zhe Yu and Bing Wei.

The way Pei Shou Yi just hurled Zhen Xuan over his shoulder again. I don’t know why that is so funny to me.

Shu Yi’s dad finally being somewhat chill about Shu Yi being together with Shi De is great to see. There’s progress, at least.

It’s heartbreaking to see Zhen Xuan cry like that.

Shu Yi pushing Shi De into the pool after that fake crying will never not be funny to me.

Shi De pulling Shu Yi’s tie to get him close enough to kiss him, and then actually kiss him… This is the sole purpose of a tie.

Bing Wei proposing to Zhe Yu makes my heart full every time. And Bing Wei being nervous as hell is so adorable. If he only knew how whipped Zhe Yu is by him too, though.

And that’s the end of this season and the whole series. I loved it just as much this rewatch as I’ve done the other times. This is one of those series I can watch several times without getting bored, mainly because of the great chemistry between Shu Yi and Shi De, the great dialogue, and that it mixes heartfelt moments with the yearning and the drama in such a great way. I love this series so much.

For fun, what are your top ten (or less if there's not enough) "unhealthy/toxic" ships that you love (not Mork/Pi).

I mean, I hate MorkPi so that definitely wouldn't be on this list. Worst pairing ever. Literally. Ugh. WORST. Abusive asshole of a pairing.

But toxic pairing I like... I can do that!

1. LeoFiat: (mostly in TT2, tbh) they've gotten a lot healthier in DSN but still. Their start was a firedumpster and I loved every second.

2. Jiang Jin Teng/Shao Yi Chen: Omfg I love these two SO MUCH and their relationship is SO FUCKED I mean, both in the original and in the reincarnation/rebirth, seriously. Love them to death, though.

3. Zhan Jun Bai/Yu Tang Chun: No limits to how fucked up this relationship is/could be but SO GOOD as a severely fucked relationship built on literal murder, lies and being held hostage.

4. XingSi/YongJie: Yes, they're stepbrothers. Yes, YongJie is fucked up in the head. I don't care, they had fantastic chemistry and XingSi just took over once he decided to get into the relationship. So good.

5. Pei Shou Yi/Yu Zhen Xuan: I could argue either way for this couple regarding the unhealthy/toxic elements but I suppose an obsession and a man who considers himself incapable of human emotions/connection can't be too healthy.

And this is where I start to get lost in terms of unhealthy. I've never watched TharnType so they don't get on the list, I despite MorkPi enough that I will happily rip them to shreds given half a second and Kengkla doesn't even GET a pairing name because he's an absolutely bastard... and I just don't know. I know there are probably others that are unhealthy but these are my tops.

Since my rewatches may contain spoilers, I’m putting my random thoughts after the “Read More” link.

With the issues in the office happening at the end of the previous episode, a lot of the focus will be on that in this one. But I’m also excited to see the Shu Yi and Shi De moments in between.

The way Pei Shou Yi just left like that. No wonder Zhen Xuan looked for him for over 10 years. It might’ve been closure for Pei Shou Yi, but not for Zhen Xuan.

I love that Shu Yi and Shi De so openly share their worries with each other, support each other, and solve whatever problems arise together. That’s a true partnership.

Pei Shou Yi looking around for Zhen Xuan, expecting him to show up no matter how many times he gets rejected, is so heartbreaking, though.

Shirtless Shi De!

Shi De fighting for his man is sexy as hell.

Also, the way Shu Yi’s dad reacts after Shi De leaves makes me cackle every time. He’s so frustrated that he keeps losing to Shi De. His reaction will never not be funny.

This episode was more focused on what was going on at the office, but I did get some great scenes that I love. Especially the scene where Shi De fought for Shu Yi and stood up for their love in front of Shu Yi’s dad. I’m so proud of him for declaring what he wants rather than following Shu Yi’s dad’s will. That was a great scene.

There’s only one episode left of this season, which is sad but also great because I know what’s coming. Besides getting some great moments with Shu Yi and Shi De in the next episode, I’m also getting some great moments with Zhe Yu and Bing Wei. And I can’t wait.
