Since I’ve been studying what people do to make money on Airbnb, I’ve come across the most idiotic, yet cheapest, accommodation. For $15 a night, you can stay in this guy’s shed in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. As a plus, he says it’s “Better than a tent.”
Tumblr media
To get there, he explains, “Google Maps gives a decent location to this spot. As soon as the barn appears (as in this picture), turn left into the grass. Drive slowly and park wherever you see fit!”
Tumblr media
He goes on to say, “This is your exterior. (one door is open and it will be closed when you arrive) It locks with a small key inside (unlocked when you arrive). This is located in the grass before the gate and well before the barn. Drive slowly on up! =) When inside, you can use the wood bar to "lock" the door.”
Tumblr media
“This is the inside of your shed. It has no electricity or toilet. There is a mirror, chair, and bucket. The chandelier was in the shed when I purchased it, so I painted it to match. I call it... art. =)”  So, am I to understand that the bucket is your toilet?
Tumblr media
“There is a small bird that likes to nest with you. I try to shoo her away, but she is quite stubborn and not much of a nuisance.” I think the bird is the nicest part of this.
Tumblr media
“This is an air mattress with pillows and a sheet on a tarp. It usually holds air all night?! Feel free to bring your own sleeping arrangements, I can easily remove this. I have a dog bed also upon request.”  Also, Fresh farm eggs and bacon breakfast available $3 / person. Occasionally, Muscovy (duck) eggs are available for $1 extra/egg for adventure eaters. =) Coffee $1 / cup.

I saw a license plate today that said “Geno71” and I literally had to go back through the target parking lot to take a photo of it

I will say the one thing that I will miss if I ever do move out of the Central PA area is the close proximity to some major cities (Philly, NYC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh if you wanna count it) without feeling like I'm too close to one or another. Like, if you get bored of this area, you can hop in your car and drive to one in the morning, spend the day and still make it back to homeland at the end of the evening. It's nice.

Say hi to gramma boots for us!
LOL omg no. my grandma will never learn of this blog, if she knew about it she would read the whole thing and check it every day, and i would start getting questions: "laura, what does thirsty on main mean?" "laura, why are you reblogging photos where you point out the outline of this hockey player's 'dick'?". friends who have been here a long while know, grandma (and grandpa) have stalked my facebo*ok for years - back in pittsburgh when i went out all the time i used to deliberately 'check-in' on facebo*ok at the wildest clubs just to give them a vicarious thrill (while also never worrying about me bc im the trustworthy always responsible grandkid who is too afraid of turning into my alcoholic mother or drug addict brother to touch any form of substance). "laura, what is this H*ot Mass you keep going to?" (dont worry grandma its not church)
sorry thats more information than you asked for :) but yeah, grandma knows the art exists, but she doesn't know where it goes.

Today Peepy had a playdate with another Peepy and visited the steepest street in the continental US. And a set of public stairs along the way.

I just realized moving to a new city means having to make new friends 🥲 I hope at least one of them is a feedist bc grad school will be stressful, and a fat tummy is a great way to take the edge off

i know we have this thread every week but it winds me up in a way that few other things do because, when you think about it, the audacity to tell a stranger "i know you think you experienced misogyny, but since you're a binary transgender man* (and therefore have always been a man, something that applies to every binary transgender man in the world) you actually experienced misdirected misogyny that wasn't meant for you because you're not a woman. hope this helps :)" is so profoundly presumptive and insulting
some of us are older than you and grew up in a much more transphobic world! some of us did not grow up in liberal areas! for some of us, it was impossible to access trans care until we picked up and moved our lives to somewhere more accepting! and *shockingly* some of us have not always ID'd as men, and to retroactively re-frame our sometimes traumatic experiences with misogyny as "misdirected" is just so. i keep coming back to this but it's just plain insulting.
i identified and presented as a woman most of my childhood! i couldn't present as anything BUT a woman even after i stopped IDing as one for my safety! i started transition as an adult seven years ago! my hometown was so conservative that they had their first, sparsely attended pride event four months ago this past june!
i had grown men sexualize me as young as 14. i experienced sexual harassment and unconsentual touching from my peers even younger. men joked about r*ping me to my face! who tf is anyone to tell me that didn't count as "true" misogyny. because it sure as shit was directed towards me. even the current wave of transphobic backlash uses misogynistic language towards all transgender people, including trans men. when transphobes infantilize us, frame us as "confused young women" suckered into an ideology we couldn't possibly understand, that's misogyny! when transphobes discourage us from transitioning because it will devalue our one asset: our beauty, when they discuss top surgery as a mutilation and mourn our breasts over our physical and mental health, that's misogyny!
the fact that i'm now a man does not change that fact and i wish more people allowed room for nuance in these discussions. if it clashes with your understanding of the gender binary, good! it should! it reeks of too much theory and not enough interacting with irl trans people. it's a vast oversimplification of the lived experiences of lots of trans people. there are thousands of ways to be an enemy of patriarchy.
*i am aware that this affects other trans men and transmascs who are not binary men but i'm using binary men here to make the point that even if 'woman' is zero part of your identity this still applies
