Santa and/or ranmaru with 4, 10, 25 for the ask game ✨
Spoilers for 999
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in? Santa
I've thought about it for some time and honestly I'd really like for him to be in Zero escape Virtue's last reward lol. It's not exactly different so it's prabably cheating but come on! Santa was helping Akane with scheme this grand in 999, maybe even he was the one who did everything because she was being dead (depending on interpretations), but he's not even present in the sequels? I crave closure wiht him. He drove away in the end of 999 and that's it?
Also, my little ponies for healing. I think he deserves to just have fun and be a pony
4. Ranmaru
So originally I wanted to use my little ponies for Ranmaru because he clearly needs friends. He's not entirelly hopeless in communication so if he has enough positive experience he'll maybe have better outlook on life and he'll find his purpose. I can imagine him not having cutie mark initially and being really moody about it so Sara and Joe decide to help him.
As a second option, Winx! To be honest, it's more me having plans for yttd and Winx crossover so I'm still kinda interested in it. There Ranmaru and other dummies were supposed to play the role of pixies. Well, kinda because they were connected to their partner. The rule of killing partner still applied and thus the dummy would return their "humanity" (which they also would return by sacrificing themselves and earning enchantix but Midori the Darkar never mentioned that part). If we're talking about canon Winx, I think Ranmaru would make an interesting mage/specialist character who's gloomy but can develop and eventually with gained power of friendship finally living happily.
10. Could you be best friends with this character? Santa
Maybe not best friends, but I could see us as friends. I don't really know how much of his personality in 999 was a facade and how much was genuine (though I suppose he didn't fake absolutelly everything). I think he could be caring and kind if I reminded him of Akane. And even if it'd be draining for me to be around someone this agressive, maybe we'd get along. I like old siblings that care about young siblings by default. Not as best friends though.
10. Ranmaru
Once again, not really best friends but we could be friends. He's a bit negative and cynical, but he can also be inspiring and determined. I'm irked by his obsessiveness with Sara and I wouldn't want same for me. On the other hand, it was partially influenced by the fact he died and wanted to feel all those moments of friendship he never had being alive. So maybe we could be friends and eventually he'd become happier? I don't know what we could do together and like I'm introverted too so I don't know if Ranmaru'd want to befriend me.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now? Santa
At first I thought he was twink with the attitude and agressiveness so it's better to not anger him but he could be helpful. I didn't exactly like or dislike him, I think it was more of a positive impression
At the end, I like him and I really wish there was more. I have one small problem with the ending because our kidnappers just leave without explaination and while Akane showed up later in sequels he never did. It was supposed to be this way I guess... But I really like how he was way smarter and more complex than I expected, that he was part of this elaborate scheme to save his sister, that he cares so much for his sister. I love tragic siblings
25 Ranmaru
At first I didn't understand all the hype about him because he was the most popular dummy and I thought he looked boring
Now he's still more on the neutral side in my grading system and he's not character I think about often but I acknowledge that he's a complex character. I think I was really irked by his logic route betrayal so I can be a bit biased against him: like Yabusame tries to reassure him, then all group members agree to subject themselves to pain to save him and the thanks they get? He murders a Yabusame and plans to continue the same with the rest. I understand that he's under pressure and he's dead and he doesn't want to kill Sara but like... These people saved (or tried to save) his life. He can be self-sacrificial to the absurd degree too when he tries to download Joe AI in his body in emotion route, basically commiting suicide, which is less morally bad so he's not absolutely irredeemable scum but that logic route kill makes me like him less as it stands

The Maribat deconstruction got me thinking: am I the only one who thinks Adribat is a more....plausible (??is that the word) concept than Maribat? Like, not even in a romantic sense but a familial platonic sense.
Think about it, he's :
got the tragic backstory & suffered from neglect
canonically been abused waaaaay beyond school bullies
taken for granted by adults (primarily his dad & Master Fu) and by his peers (LB)
dealing with the existential crisis of not being human if we go the sentimonster route.
Look, I get that trauma & suffering should NEVER be a competition but when you think abt it, Adrien's suffered just as much, if not more so than Mari ever did even with Chloe & Lila in the picture. You could argue that some of what she suffers in salt fics (isolation, no support system, emotional suppression, harassment) are ALSO things Adrien goes through bcz while he's a superhero like her, UNlike her, his home life sucks.
So if there's either hero the Bat Fam would empathize with more, it's him. Yes, they can hold him accountable for screw ups but if we go the Good Parent!Bruce route, he can give Adrien the physical & nuanced emotional training he needs to spot red flags & deal with them beyond passivity. The training is harsh but at least he doesn't play favourites, giving Adrien no excuse to slack off & proper motivation to mature. Plus, in the Bat Fam, everyone has clear roles & secrets aside, nobody strings anyone along, offering him a reliable structure to fall back on.
He doesn't come into the Bat Fam expecting to be in charge. Instead, the nitty-grittiness would push him to be more independent & decisive instead of impulsive.
If LB tries to call him out, he could point out how for all she claims to be the 'responsible professional hero', she REacted instead of acted & if real IDs are thrown in the mix, he can call out how she just went with the 'woe is me' route, resenting that everyone didn't jump on her call for a witch hunt when she could've communicated to them privately.
Sorry, this turned out longer & less explicitly mari salt-centric than I thought but I tried to stay objective. I hope you don't mind.
Technically everyone would have their own opinion about whether a Miraculous/Batman crossover could actually work. In my opinion however, I believe that the best bet for a good crossover would be through Adrien more than Marinette, in part because of the reasoning you gave, but also because Adrien would fit the idea of a Batfamily member more thematically than Ladybug ever could. If anything, he's like Catwoman but without the whole stealing bit.
Keep in mind that the whole Maribat AU was created with the goal of creating a salt fic (albiet with a crossover), and the OG creator even took a character that was no way romantical and turned him OOC to make their convoluted idea work, ironically in a method reminding me of the "My Immortal" Harry Potter fanfic. Regardless how it later developed, the original idea was pure salt, albiet one that took off because of everyone's hate boner for any character that wasn't Marinette, with people later trying to justify it for one reason or another. It's an idea that should have never worked in the first place outside of this context. In contrast though, Adribat would actually work because of a genuine commonality connection.
Also I don't mind talking about Adrien on this blog. In my mind, Marinette salt and Adrien sugar are the one and the same on this blog, because the salt of one character is usally sugar of the other due to how these prompts go.
Hell, my entire blog was made in opposition to the more well know Adrien Salt Blog made by another individual, which has both plenty of Adrien salt and LOTS of Marinette sugar, though I would call the latter justification for Marinette's own bad behavior as it never discusses her own issues, it just let's her go off scott free by pinning the blame all on Adrien.
In any case, I like your idea! If you or anyone else want's to share any Adribat prompts that you got, feel free to send them here!

would i date my ikemen favourites in real life?
I saw a post a WHILE ago that talked about the idea of their favorite characters meeting their parents, and I was procrastinating on work really bored so I decided to do a spin-off of that!! why not?
CW: crack, spoilers for: kenshin's route, ikerev prologue, and some of jonah's route, long post,
I am still a beginner writer so characters may be inaccurate/ooc! constructive feedback and reblogs help <3
---
Chevalier (Ikemen Prince)
-I would have to tell him to tone down the ice prince behaviour. how are you almost 30 and still calling yourself "the brutal beast" 😭
-he's really smart so we won't have an issue with that
-we don't have a lot of common interests though
-the "show me your worth" and "when someone is no longer of use, that's that" is a major turn-off
-he's so tall?? +1 for that
final rating: 3.5/10 okay guy with questionable morals, i wouldn't date him
William (Ikemen Villians)
-again, really tall
-we won't have many issues, this man knows how to talk to people
-he can play piano too?! +2
-decent guy overall, so higher than chev
-final rating: 6/10 we could be friends, but he's not my type
Harrison (Ikemen Villians)
-I don't even have to mention the height, do I...
-the "am i lying or am I telling the truth?" thing would probably get old fast
-but he is the most normal (i mean, as normal as you can get in ikevil) out of all the boys
-he is pretty fun so the lying part doesn't matter
-final rating: 8/10 good partner
Vincent (Ikemen vampire)
-he deserves the world.
-I love sunflowers and you're telling me you PAINT THEM??
-he's friendly and a good person so we would get along fine
-that said he also doesn't have many strong opinions so that would be a bit frustrating and I also cant draw for the life of me
-brush is now my child. no he doesn't get a say in this.
-vincent can be mischevious sometimes though iirc so that's good
-final rating: 5/10 could be friends, but not really good friends
Kenshin (Ikemen Sengoku)
-i'm starting to notice a pattern in this list with the blondies with lore...
-i don't know how we'd even get close in the first place, considering I don't like conflict (and this man loves fighting)
-but he's considerate of MC's emotions in several routes so that's good
-YOU HAVE BUNNIES?? MULTIPLE OF THEM?? marry me rn /j
-he also doesn't seem like the person to like loud people but then again he lives with Yuki and Shingen (and they're chaotic in and of themselves)
-one thing i would definitely have an issue with is when he tries to keep the MC "all to himself" by KIDNAPPING HER. oh absolutely not.
-final rating: 3/10 potentially friends, but would NOT date him
Hideyoshi (Ikemen Sengoku)
-don't like the hostility towards MC in the beginning stages but he gets better towards her so it's fine
-i don't know how i feel about his many female admirers
-he's really kind though and pays attention to details (which I do not) so that's a plus
-i can respect his dedication to nobunaga
-the fact he has a MONKEY as a pet is adorable.
-he's also very justice-aligned, so thats also a plus
-don't really have much to say other than he's a good guy 👍
-final rating 6/10 we could be friends :)
Jonah (Ikemen Revolution)
-i'm sorry trying to arrest the MC as soon as she falls into Cradle is a big no
-he can be super nice but at the same time super insensitive to other people and I don't think I can get past that
-also not a big fan of expensive gifts, especially when we just met
-he likes sweets though and so do I so he at least has one redeeming quality
-not much other things to say here.
-final rating 2/10 i don't see how we would even click in the first place
---
gonna end it off here cause i wanna get it out of my drafts and also to avoid it getting too long
but anyways thanks for reading! if you decide to try this please tag me I wanna read it!
bye for now and see you later <33

Just curious, what do you think about the season 8b speculation that Buck is going to be kidnapped in addition to or instead of Maddie? I'm semi conflicted personally because I so want to see a Maddie lead storyline but don't want to see a pregnant woman get kidnapped idk
I'm pretty conflicted about it as well, because I love a good Buck getting hurt story line and I love him as a character, so seeing him go through that (especially with those people theorizing no one notices he's missing) would be delicious angst.
And I do also think it would suck if it was Maddie, because not only has she been kidnapped before, she currently has a happy storyline going for her for a change, so I'd hate if they forced her into this again, especially if the focus isn't going to be on her and what it means for her, but reactions to it, specifically Buck's.
However, it's that last bit that has me kind of ugh about it, because ever since moving to ABC the show has gotten more Buck-centric. Now, I love Buck - gestures vaguely at all my fics about him - but what makes 9-1-1 so fun to me is that it's an ensemble cast show. I personally adore Hen and Athena (out of the uniform) and Eddie is actually my favorite character, and Chimney and Bobby are very fun. So, seeing them get pushed to the background for Buck doesn't sit right to me.
If they do go the Buck gets kidnapped route and it's going to mostly focus on Buck, I'm a little worried for the future of the show, because I don't want it to be the Buck & co. show, I want it to be the 118 show. However, I'm down for it if they handle it well. Like, if they want to start the buddie route and focus on Eddie's reaction specifically, then it would serve a purpose, or if it was to kick start Buck's no one will care about me spiral (though both can be achieved by kidnapping Maddie, since Eddie can be in Texas so hate to not be there for Buck this time to get his head on straight causing him to spiral, or it can be Buck losing it bc Chris is gone, Eddie will leave and now he might not get Maddie back, so...)
If they go the Maddie gets kidnapped route, it better have a focus on her and what it means for her character to get kidnapped again, while pregnant and a mother, when she specifically never had kids with Doug, because she didn't feel safe. As well as Chimney breaking down, because he went through hell to get Maddie back during her post-partum depression and they had this whole discussion about how scared he was to do it without her and now he might be losing her. Of course Buck is going to feature heavily in this too, because it's his sister and he already lost her to this very thing before, but I would want it to have space for all the emotional reactions, not just his.
I saw someone theorize that they get kidnapped together, which would be fun, since that person mentioned having Chimney's and Eddie's reactions to it parallel, which could be buddie arc start. And I think it could be fun to see with Buck wanting to sacrifice himself for Maddie, because she's pregnant and has a family at home, while he has nothing anymore, which ties into his spiral that will start that is being mentioned in interviews. Plus, you can have Maddie who will always be his protector first, suddenly have to deal with wanting to sacrifice herself, but now having so much to lose and can she do that to Jee-Yun? To Chimney? As well as having the team collectively lose their minds because their Buckleys have been taken.
Anyway, this is a large ramble that doesn't really answer much, but I think in the end, it can be interesting if it's Buck, but I would prefer it not to be unless well executed and a part of me doesn't see that arc getting executed well. Though I also don't like the fact that Maddie is getting kidnapped to begin with. However, I know the fics are gonna be great regardless in this fandom, so I'm clinging to that lmao

how do you feel about wraith x opportunist?
okay I've been ignoring the shit outta my inbox for like a decade or something (not actually that long, obviously, but still pretty dang long) so I better reply for once.
and let me just say! fucking hilarious.
now we all know that smitten and opportunist is my otp and it's been like that for quite some time but I need to give this one a special mention. just watched a wraith route playthrough today and I gotta say:
1. I love my wife number two. Paranoid. Wife. I love you.
2. OPPORTUNIST SHE'S NOT GONNA BE A GOOD EMPLOYER.
okay but on a serious note? when we see them interact for a few moments it's kinda just funny and lighthearted. seeing oppy being oppy and wraith just enjoying the show because it makes everyone else suffer. but in the long term, it's not gonna be pretty great.
just a bootlicker and someone who doesn't even care if her boots are getting licked, so long as she can chuck those boots at someone.
opportunist's priorities don't actually align with wraith's. actually, they don't align with anyone but his own's. his craving for power and control here comes in the form of trying to please her; from feeble attempts to persuade her into sparing him. I guess in that aspect, it's a little reminiscent of the broken.
but what prevents it from becoming too much like tower and broken's dynamic is simply the fact that opportunist isn't actually resigned to his fate. he just acts like he is so he can have a chance to turn the tables against her later on. and the wraith, like tower, still ignores him. she only keeps him around if it benefits her to some extent.
it might traumatize opportunist, or it might not. he's gonna pull out as soon as the implied drawbacks outweigh the implied benefits. but the thing is, the biggest implied benefit from working with the wraith in general is not being subjected to suffering at her hands, so it might take some time before he gives it up.
and I don't think oppy would have it in him to address the root cause of her sadism. she's lonely. perhaps after some time, he would genuinely do something about that loneliness. perhaps she could recover.
but for the most part I can still see oppy leaving once it gets old and he finds a better position. because the wraith would probably tire of him eventually. and then it's not gonna end well.
I don't know if a real emotional connection could actually form there, but I'm kinda digging the idea of this dynamic in general. oppy being the same scheming snake as ever, and wraith just giving a grand total of zero shits.
huh. most ships involving oppy happen to involve a relationship built on falsehood and scheming. I'm starting to see a pattern here.
tldr: I do kinda like it, in all honesty. it's like towerbroken, but oppy has a lot more agency and is a lot less resigned than broken. plus, wraith would get bored.
unless...? that's for the other fanfic writers who like this pairing to do something about, because personally I don't give enough of a crap.

Hey, Anon of 'Corrin grows over the three routes of Fates, actually' post. Sorry for the crappy grammar, I was on my phone and away from my PC for five days, so screw-ups were inevitable because I don't have a PC.
I wanted to clarify that while the rest of the post was legible, one had something very easy to misinterpret; I was trying to point out that, no, Corrin's whole point is that people aren't failures for not seeing the better option when it's presented to us. Corrin recognizes as, basically, an extremely privileged, sheltered aristocrat who had an amazing life surrounded by love most of the retainers would've killed for (and even one royal), that he has no business leading an army at such a level... but he still wants to do his best and care, because he wants to be the best self he can be and that he believes others are capable. His whole thing is actually very similar to Tidus in Final Fantasy X (another character dismissed unfairly as 'whiny' for being an emotional and empathetic male); namely, the idea of not just accepting things as is and seeing how plainly ludicrous the status quo is due to being raised from an outsider perspective, and his sentiments and sheer faith in humanity changing if not shattering many sentiments outright; even normally rock-hard cynic characters who have given up on humanity and justice (Xander, Nyx, Beruka, Saizo, Azama, etc.) find themselves challenged by Corrin's sheer desire to burn brightly in ways they never thought of before. And more importantly, that they were not failures for not seeing it; it's just an opportunity to do better, be better, that they can actually be good like they hope themselves to be. This ends up changing a ton of minds in whatever route he settles on; he was even extremely close to redeeming Zola before Garon slammed the door on that (poor guy).
But yeah, I know I got the general gist across in spite of iOS being terrible for grammar (much less the Safari web version while having dogshit internet), but that typo stood out to me enough that I had to make a separate post to correct it, now that I'm back on my PC.
No worries about the grammar from me! I've studied how to read different things and whatnot, from casual blogposting to corporate transcript (it's amazing all you can learn in just a single professional writing class), so it's all good!
And I agree, I think Corrin's empathy and compassion has many layers to it, and part of that is the opportunity to change and grow. In fact, he says as much vs Garon in Conquest chapter 27.
Tumblr media
Plus what I love about this boss exchange is that it, at once, both showcases Corrin's well of acceptance and empathy, but also the strict limit he operates at. When people selfishly, madly pursue a destructive path and can't/won't listen to reason, then sadly that's it. And Corrin I feel has the maturity to recognize that.

im back lol i enjoyed your answers too much so im here to give you more brainrot
24. (Explore) What’s a moment in the game that disturbed/ freaked you out the most?
25. (Explore) What’s a moment in the game that emotionally destroyed you?
27. (Explore) How did you come across this game?
((Aww thanks for liking my answers. I rarely get asks here so it's a nice welcome. Plz do send me more of this I really love to make my brain think
To the answers (uhh, potential spoilers)
24. Most disturbing/freaked out moment? And 25. Moment that emotional destroyed me?
(Put em together bc these scenes fucked me up as well as made me think)
Uhhh...ok, this one is hard, mainly bc I don't play slay the princess. I got into it via YouTube and Tumblr, so a lot of stuff got spoiled for me before I even watched proper gameplay. There really isn't any personally terrific scene for me. So imma talk about some scenes/routes that make me think too hard.
- The Moment of Clarity, all of it: You have fucked up. Like fr. When you get into the grit of this route out, you get a really fucked up story of how destructive the princess can be. This, to me, is the Princess at her worse. More so than the Razor, to me. And it's all your fault. You saw the red flag with the Nightmare, you didn't take it, and now here you are. Plus the voices in the Long Quiet breaking down and welcome death rather than be scared, and with the option to comfort them, it's...bittersweet.
- "We are a path in the woods": That.was.fucked! I didn't know the Wild existed/what she was before actually watching gameplay and the idea of becoming one on a cellular level, just like what Larry and Shifty used to be? Uhhhh, it tingles my spine in both bad and good ways. But I also LOVE the symbolism of that. How the damage is done, Shifty herself even admits to that, so they inevitably spit, willing or not and it's up to Larry and the Princess to make amends, or end it for good. The wild in general is one of those routes where you would want Larry to be kind...but if he stabs her, it's understandable, rather than being needlessly cruel.
- The Dining Scene from HEA: I don't need to say a lot, as a lot of my points have already been said by others. But that table, it hits a fear of mine, and ironically the Narrator's too, which is a stagnant world where nothing you do matters bc there is no longer value in the time you have on this earth. Sure I see it for what it means in universe, but out of universe, I was left pausing the video i was watching to just...think about it. Think about that fear, the anxiety, the implications of the Voice's power, and the Damsel saying "its finally over..." after being stabbed hit me like a boulder. And really, that's what I like about this game, it makes me THINK.
27. How I got into the game?
Funny enough, I had a StP phase years ago, but I kept it mostly to mutuals and myself bc to me, StP seems like a sophisticated game with a lot to say, and ya gurl who likes the fandom side of things didn't felt like she could add to that conversation. It felt like there were too many things, all good things, to keep track of and what i do would feel like a disservice to the source material. That was until the Pristine cut came out, and suddenly StP was back on my feed. With some probing from friends and some years to personally grow, I am a changed woman now. I felt confident engaging in what you can take from this game with its symbolism and meanings, as well as pushing disembodied voices together like playing house. I love both sides of it and I hope to see more of it. So thanks Tumblr, you got me to warm up to this love story

♡ day 8: devon lee ♡
good morning todos, we get to yap about one of my favs again, going a little overboard this time. today's victim is little old devon lee <3
Tumblr media
from the MOMENT devon showed up on screen, she jumped all the way up my favs list. admittedly, since the other characters have a few seasons and a screentime headstart on her, she's a little lower than she should be. BUT she's still so special to me.
let me preface by saying, do i think johnny should have another pseudo-kid when robby is standing RIGHT THERE? no, i don't. ...but i mean if the writers are gonna go that route, devon is perfection. they immediately introduced her with a tough personality but she wasn't a "jock" or a bully, she was super motivated, intelligent, and kind from the start. also the fact that johnny and bert knew from the moment they saw her that she'd be perfect is one of my fav things.
(off-topic but her introduction scene to eagle fang being her saying her name and pronouns and johnny genuinely not knowing what that is was really funny and one of my fav moments of the whole series. devon lee, you are the woke queen ever.)
Tumblr media
her relationship with johnny i think even outside of season six is a lot about pleasing him. she wants to make him proud. again, from the moment he saw her, he was impressed, then he just kept getting progressively more impressed with her. when she joins cobra kai, she doesn't see the extent of it but johnny does try to get her out, but chozen convinces him to fight smart. so when she gets back under johnny's leadership, she's probably feeling a little more than insecure about how he sees her now. obviously johnny's stressing about A LOT in s5/6. but kids, especially when facing their own struggles, find it harder to see the bigger picture.
so based on her actions, it definitely seems like devon is worried she might've upset johnny. or even if she didn't, she worries her ranking in his mind might've gone down. this plus the impending sekai taikai try-outs, devon freaks out a little but tries to stay focused on doing what she does best. but again, as she explains to johnny in pt 2, she worried she wouldn't be able to beat kenny, demetri, and hawk all together so she cheated to get a leg up. and johnny wasn't mad at her because he knows he was pushing everyone too hard because of his own anxieties and knew she wanted to make him proud. and that's on father-daughter !!
Tumblr media
her time with tory, admittedly far shorter since it spans over maybe half of season five and season six (where they only get like five scenes together) (i didn't actually count but it's not a lot, i know that)
but AGAIN GONNA RESTRAIN MYSELF TO CANON, their friendship is soso important to me. also them bonding over their moms, i hope they get another talk in pt 3 where devon can really talk through what it was like to lose her mom and tory can connect with someone who understands exactly what she's going through.
again, does tory need a younger sibling dynamic when her little brother is RIGHT THERE? no. but devon seems to be the perfect fill-in for the writers so she works here definitely. it definitely gives tory a chance to grow more empathy. not that she's not empathetic but devon helps her understand (at the same level as robby) that it's not tory vs the world, that she can find people who see the good in her and who will have her back no matter what. tory also helps devon mature a little. while not explicitly stated, it's kind of shown in the leader/follower exercise that neither tory nor devon evidently know how to work in a team or with other people. but they both help each other grow into trusting teamwork. again i think devon could benefit IMMENSELY from being close to tory on an emotional and physical level. the girls pushing each other to be caring and trusting while also pushing each other to fight better <33
Tumblr media
so anyways, i think devon switching dojos in season five was the best little detail on the writers' part, because she's absolutely loyal to johnny but she genuinely wants to excel at everything she enjoys. and she found that she really liked karate; if eagle fang had to disband, obviously she's going to join another dojo. to be fair, she also barely joined the dojo for what? four months? she, again, really took to johnny and karate but she hadn't been as involved in the karate drama as long as the others. this wasn't a whole year of her life, and these aren't people she trauma bonded with (at the time). she maybe recognized a few of them from school but really didn't know them outside of karate. so it actually made a lot of sense for her character to join topanga then cobra kai !
and finally, her new dynamic with kenny which hasn't had much screentime yet (and with five episodes left i'm not all that hopeful) but i really like this dynamic actually ! so obviously kenny and her are around the same age (i don't think she has a canon age but it's obviously implied she's likely bert's age, who's about a year or two older than kenny and anthony). we didn't see MUCH but there are some solid solidarity points between them knowing both of them fell into cobra kai and had to deal with realizing the whole dojo was genuinely kind of bad and having to find their place in the miyagi do dojo.
and devon immediately stepping down to let kenny fight in the sekai taikai after admitting what she did wrong is everything to me (it's obviously the right thing to do but she genuinely could have been evil and not told anyone, but she's not like that ! and i love her for that !) her also immediately having a conversation with kenny once he gets to barcelona, apologizing, then just talking in the background about who knows what, oh yeah, my girl's a yapper, social indeed. which in a show with so many characters with absentee parents, affinities for miscommunication, and pent-up anger, she is truly refreshing to behold, if only in the background. which brings me to my fav part:
!! headcanons !!
Tumblr media
so picking up with kenny, she definitely spearheads his integration into the miyagi do dojo and subsequent friend groups (she just takes that initiative without prompting and did so even before the sekai taikai try-out drama. but also she still feels terrible about...the shittening. so this is how she makes it up to him). he's a little awkward at first, not sure who's still mad or maybe he just genuinely doesn't know how to interact with so many people after he spent so long in a cornered animal mindset. either way, she doesn't seem to mind and he seems genuinely comfortable with her.
manifesting her actually talking everything out with tory so they both know they're not alone in how they feel.
she also unintentionally makes johnny feel better about raising his new daughter. and i mean unintentional in the most literal sense of the word. she's just kinda existing, showing him something she mastered, and johnny's like "omg maybe i can be a good dad this time" (this is basically canon actually)
she has a seemingly out-of-nowhere small bond with miguel ?? which confuses a few people because no one ever seems to see them hanging out other than maybe once or twice. but it's mainly a mutual understanding of being johnny's pseudo-kids. and they're both very social. so they act a lot closer than they actually are.
when tory graduates, devon still texts/hangs with her often. it helps both her and tory know the other is still there and still cares/thinks about them. (abandonment issues girlies !!)
by association, robby and sam also kind of form a good bond with her. she sometimes third wheels robby and tory or sam and tory
devon, sam, and tory have more girl hangouts (sometimes going out with sam, yas, moon, and demetri) and devon feels GREAT to one, have so many friends and two, have friends who are girls and understand her. (it also helps to get demetri's perspective to round off a broad range of answers to any questions she has about school or romantic prospects)
she LOVES to yap with demetri about debate, politics, and movies. although demetri's definitely more qualified in movies than debate and politics, he still likes hearing what she has to say. (it's more than a little weird for him at first to be talking to a girl a couple years younger than him but he gets used to her after a bit)
she's pretty close with kenny and anthony but also likes hanging out with nate and bert.
not a headcanon technically but could you imagine if she became friends with lia somehow? i love both of them, that'd be so cutie if they somehow met and became friends. lia has almost no personality in canon other than she's nice but ya know, i can pretend she does.
also not a headcanon but it'd be super cute for her to be close with demetri and anthony as a trio since i already kinda see them as siblings anyway. devon/demetri/anthony siblings, oh yeah, i'm kinda rocking with it.
anyways, i DEFINITELY yapped too close to the sun with this one, i just really like devon. i shudder to think what the top five will be like
Tumblr media
ermmm in conclusion: devon lee, you deserve far more screentime than you've been allowed. and you are surprisingly one of the more mentally/emotionally stable characters, which unfortunately makes you a backboard for other characters' growth and i'm sorry for that. you deserve better 🫶

How would the boys react to Mika being pregnant? Would they know before her (I feel like James would) and what kind of fathers do you think they’d be?
Well they would all be happy by default. It seems to be in the succubus instinct to REALLY wanna further your lineage so, naturally they would all want this on a genetic level.
However. Mentality always beats genetics. Let's go into that.
If any guy could know that a girl was prego before the girl herself, James would in fact be that guy. I think of all of them he would be the most.... pleased? I guess? I feel like that's not the right word but happy isn't the word I'm looking for either. He was the crowned prince. Other than ruling the kingdom well, having an heir was probably the highest priority he was taught. Plus he does dedicate a good chunk of his life to making sure his brothers are happy and successful in life. It would be natural for him to be a family man.
Though as a father, one hurdle he would force himself to get over is his emotional distance. He knows that he's not the most emotionally open and that was fine when it was just Mika and she seemed to understand but he's aware that his judgmental nature and distance would negatively affect his child so he would work that out to give his child the best chance of a good life. On a positive though? That child is gunna be educated as fuck! They are going to read higher level books as a teen than most people do ever. Easy ticket to a stable life.
I feel like Erik would have a feeling but also after the events of Demon War, he would be a little doubtful. He says himself that he would be happy if Mika was the mother of his child so he would happy with the pregnancy, his only concern would be for Mika's health and safety. I kinda joked about this in a previous post but because of the whole "demons are born with tiny horns" thing, that could probably scrape up Mika's insides especially since -if the kid is born with horns like Erik's or his mother's- that shit is coming out of the sides of their head. So O U C H.
As a father though, I can see Erik being very doting possibly to the point of mildly spoiling the child. He wants to give his child all the love and freedom his mother denied him, giving them the opportunity to do any activity they could ever want regardless of how it seems socially. He would essentially be raising his opposite for better and for worse.
Sam would absolutely NOT be able to tell. He probably didn't even think it was possible. He would be shocked but happy. I don't think he sees himself as the fatherly type but he's more than willing to learn. His concerns will change based on what route you're on. If you're on the King Sam route, his concern would be the race of the child. Sure Mika was turned into a succubus but how much of that changed her genetic makeup? Would she make succubus children or human children? And, the more concerning part, how would the kingdom react? They barely accepted Mika as their queen, they would NOT accept human children as their future rulers. Sam would rather not have to fight his entire kingdom, yknow?
By contrast, if you went down the default good route, Sam couldn't give less of a fuck about race if you paid him to. Now his concern is how he's gunna raise the kid. Royalty gives you structure, without that he has to freestyle.
As a father, I can see Sam as kind and soft but only with his wife and daughters. Yes I said "daughters", I made a mother's day drawing that shows Mika and Sam having twin girls. (So like double OUCH on the birth for Mika) Sam is your typical overprotective dad type. He wants his girls to be safe so he will protect them with his life. He would also teach his daughters self defense so they can protect themselves once they're grown.
Matthew would also not be able to tell. If Mika gets morning sickness, Matthew would be more concerned that she's caught something from work. Though when he is told, he will be SQUEALING with happiness. He would absolutely be the happiest of the five to be a dad. It's far beyond "biological need", he genuinely wants to be a parent. Mika is not lifting a goddamn finger for any of the chores or physical work. Hell even Simon Tabby causes fewer issues to not stress Mika out.
As a father, he would be fun loving. His child would never be bored or feel neglected as long as he's around..... However, like Mother, like Son. It's not that Matthew is anywhere near as crazy as Aezera but he would probably share a few of her values on family and magical education. He would prioritize the child's happiness and self expression while also making sure that they are well trained and well educated especially in magic. After all, even if the child doesn't show immediate promise, he had a runt phase too. They just need some training. This is the exact way Aezera raised Matthew, with Matthew just being not invasive or horribly controlling. Definitely an improvement, still room to improve though.
I would say "Damien is a mindreader" but he isn't at this point! YAY! So he might not figure it out until he's told. Now, I think Damien would be happy, however after seeing a video from Michaela, I realize he would have more of a nuanced response. His anxiety would take hold as he questions if they even have the physical and emotional resources to care for a child. On top of that, race comes back as an issue but it's now the opposite. Has Damien's DNA changed when he was truly turned human or would he produce demon kids? How would two humans deal with human-demon hybrids? He would be terrified of any of his kids gaining his mind reading seeing how miserable it made him and he would probably also be concerned from Mika's safety with the horns thing again. However, when his anxieties calm down, he would show more of that happiness. The best part of the next nine months would be Mika and Damien getting to set up their child's room and fill it with everything new parents need.
As a father, I think Damien would be a sweet but stern dad. Teaching his kids morals and kindness so they can grow up to be empathetic people. As much as his last interaction with his mother broke his heart, from how heartbroken he was we can tell that Damien's mother had a close relationship with Damien once. I think he would try to reform that relationship with his child and mimic all the things he loved about his mother hoping that his kid could view him the way he viewed his mother. Where I think his fault would lie would be his slightly possessive nature and his PTSD. That would extend to his children and may make him stifle them in an attempt to keep them away from danger, real and perceived. Though an honest conversation, either from the child or Mika, would help.

i don't actually mind the fact brotherhood has a lighter tone in comparison to the 2003 anime. i don't mind that most ppl prefer brotherhood's happier ending (minus some writing choices that truly dread me, such as the military characters using the souls of dead people of color to cure their own disabilities, but we've all talked about this before)
i think my problem lies on two, or actually three things:
brotherhood's comedy can be very inappropriate at times, and it can get in the way of serious and emotional moments, such as the aftermath of the first battle against scar. ed and al's argument does not hold any weight. there's a reason why the moment when ed sees al's body in the gate is my favorite of the series - because it is not cut by stupid gags, it's an actual emotional moment and a cliffhanger to the next episode (plus i love how it fades into the ending theme!!). not to mention, in my opinion, a lot of the jokes in bh are simply not funny or they get old way too fast. that might have to do with the fact the quick jokes from the manga don't translate well in anime form.
a lot of bh stans claim that the 2003 anime does not have any comedy, which is incredibly false. y'all don't remember when ed starts chasing al in the desert? literal sibling energy. and that moment does not take the seriousness away from the very first scene, when ed and al decide to revive their mother. these two moments are vital to the elric brothers. i know fma 03 can be way more depressing than brotherhood, but it has quite a few comedic moments, and mind you, i actually laughed at most of them. they have good timing!
this is not really about the comedy, but i'm sick of everyone saying that fma 03 does not have a happy ending. sure, it's not the ideal ending of ed getting al's body back and his lost limbs. the elric brothers are separated and neither of them know if the other is alive. but they're both alive, and they have hope they're going to see each other again. and then conqueror of shamballa makes that a reality - even if, again, it's not our idealized ending because ed and al do not return home, nor does ed end up with winry (which is an argument i often see being used against 2003). but it is a happy ending, nonetheless. and i love the message of this ending, that the elrics will do anything to help people during the war, especially after everything they learned in the 2003 series. plus, ed's disability isn't cured, he remains disabled.
once again, if you prefer brotherhood for its happier ending and tone, then you do you, and i understand your preference. but i don't think it's fair to completely discredit fma 03 for taking the story to another route.

Rating Supernatural
[SPOILER ALERT]
Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot
- Monster/lore: Constance Welch; ghost, La Llorona, weeping woman, woman in white
- Angst: the Winchester origin story (that we know of so far), Constance Welch and her backstory, Jess dies
- Songs: Back in Black, Highway to Hell
- Laughs: 'Jerk', 'Bitch', 'My boobs', general sibling stuff
- Extra: as an old pilot it holds up surprisingly well, uses cyclical structure, 'Dad's on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days', 'We got work to do'
Getting into it:
(This is a long old rant, my overall rating is at the very end).
Constance Welch is a ghost, a woman in white who haunts the same five mile stretch of road and preys on weak-willed men who cheat on their partners or are easily convinced to do so. Her method to me is so haunting; white symbolizes innocence, which lulls you into a false sense of security. She seems a bit out of it, a bit naïve, which is an act to get those men to take advantage of such an easy situation, then BAM! She's got em. Then there's that, barely above a whisper repeated line, 'I can never go home.'
Imagine picking up a hitchhiker (don't do that) and they ask you to go home, they're so cryptic, and when you finally do get them there they're all, nah can't go in there. Like??? Ok spooky 👀
Also we can't ignore how tormenting it is to watch her get into that car and just disappear out of our view.
Tumblr media
The lore is great. I am so fascinated by this specific genre of spirit to the point I've included it in a university project in the past. And I enjoy that the first hunt is a ghost. Supernatural's first monster should have always been a ghost, a vampire, or a werewolf, just to keep with the classics, and they made it their own by deciding not to go to the usual haunted house route.
The angst was good in this episode. It gave a good amount of lore dropping, the strained relationship is so clear between Sam and his family, Dean's loyalty to his dad is also very clear. Overall it sets the tone of their dynamic nicely. Plus there are already emotional stakes with the deaths of both Mary and Jess. Constance Welch has a pretty hefty amount of angst herself, which doesn't make it too cheesy in my opinion; rather than an ooky spooky ghost you can't take seriously, we see her as someone who used to be a person like the rest of us. (Admittedly not the greatest person).
The songs are so appropriate and I enjoy them, Sam is indeed back (in black) to his old life, embarking on a journey that he knows isn't going to end well, but can't deny his instincts as a raised hunter. It's a hard road to venture down, knowing you might not come out all right. A highway to hell indeed. ACDC is something I'll always think of when I think of this show. They have been a service to each other (not that ACDC needed it, but hey).
Tumblr media
It has been years since I watched this show since finishing it. But it still gets a chuckle out of me in almost every episode: jerk, bitch, Dean saying the only really thing he's got are his boobs and then SLAM, he's under arrest. These boys are undoubtedly brothers too, their rivalry, the hitting. Dean makes a point that he's 26, a grown man. And yet they're back to kids in less than a day of being near each other again.
Tumblr media
Extra stuff: I think this really holds up, the classic lines we get out of this episode used over and over throughout the rest of the show. And of course my favourite, cyclical structure. I'm a sucker for it, but I know other people aren't fans. However. Opening and closing the show with Mary and Jess dying in the same way, both above Sam's crib/bed. It's satisfying. And to end it all with this cool shot.

Ok, I need to ramble about Transformers One. Cause it was just so good and I have thoughts.
I just don't know where to begin lol.
Cause it was just, so good!
Like, this seems like, the only time we get a full, proper backstory for what happened between Optimus Prime and Megatron to turn them from friends to enemies.
I'm only familiar with a couple of TF continuities (Prime, Animated-tho it's been a hot minute on that one- a smattering of comic stuff and the live action movies), and while they do bring up that OP and megs had a history, were even friends at one point, they never go into what happened to sour that friendship. What made Megs change, how did they end up on opposite sides of the war?
But TF One DOES! And it's GOOD!
AND IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE!
(under the cut for length)
I've seen a few people say that D-16 'went mad with power' or 'turned bad' the moment he got a T Cog but. He didn't. It wasn't hat tabrupt. If anything it can be summed up with one phrase.
"The straw that broke the camel's back."
Like. Put yourself in his boots. All your life you've been essentially the dregs of society, looked down upon b/c you were born without a crucial element of yourself. You work a generally thankless, extremely dangerous job. But, it's all worth it you think. You job is the backbone of your city, it's providing for the city and it's people until your protector and saviour can find the missing relic. You have hope that things will get better. You can bear it after all.
And then in one fell swoop your entire life and world view is upended. It was all a lie.
Your "protector" is a traitor, a murder, a liar. He killed your protectors (and your biggest hero), betrayed you to your enemies and is bowing to them. All the stuff you've been mining turns out to be going to your enemy. You haven't been helping your fellow citizens, you've been aiding the enemy. And then, the cherry on the shit sundae is to find out that he ALSO is responsible for you being "defective", as he (basically) mutilated your infant form, taking away what makes you you. You've followed the rules all your life. You've accepted your lot in life no matter how much it sucked.
And it was all a LIE.
That is one hell of a betrayal to be slammed on you all at once. SO yeah, the straw that broke the camel's back. Sometimes, people just fucking snap.
And then the camel got the power to actually fucking do something about it.
He didn't go mad with power or instantly go evil when he got a T Cog. He just finally had a way to DO something now. He didn't have to settle for being pushed around any more. Following the rules had gotten him this so, fuck them Fuck the rules man.
And the thing is, D-16 and Orion DID have the same goal in a way. They wanted to bring Sentinel to justice. They just had different ways to go about doing it.
Orion wanted to do it the "right" way, to expose him and have him stripped of his title/power and be tried for his crimes. He wanted to follow the logical route.
And D-16 just wanted revenge. He followed the emotional route.
"I want him dead"
Can you blame him? I don't. His anger is totally justified.
I wouldn't call that him 'suddenly going evil'. It was just the tipping point. After that moment he just slid off the deep end and kept spiraling downwards. If anything the 'gone evil' moment was when he looked at Orion and said "I'm done saving you". At that point it was to late. That was where D-16 died. (and one could argue that was the moment where Orion Pax died as well. b/c the bots that emerged from that fight were not D-16 and Orion Pax. It was Megatron and Optimus Prime)
But like, he didn't go mad with power. He was just on a revenge mission and now had the ability to DO that. And like, a revenge mission doesn't necessarily make someone evil (Inigo Montoya says hello)
And the thing is, they were both right imo.
Orion Pax was right, starting off your new society with an execution is proooobably not a good look (plus the whole debate on do you have the right to decide who lives and dies?). But like, D-16 was right that Sentinel needed to pay for his crimes and rotting in jail really seems like a slap on the wrist for what he did, for the betrayal and murder and lying and mutilation.
Also like. If he hadn't killed him, someone else would have. Someone else would have had the same mindset as D-16, that sitting in jail wasn't punishment enough for a life of betrayal and lies and would have found him an exacted their justice. If not D-16, then someone else.
It's just. It's so good man.
And how they basically switch their viewpoints as the story progresses. It starts out with Orion as the 'fuck the rules' sort of guy, he wants to do what he want, and D-16 as the by the book, follow the rules one. And as it goes on you see that changing. Orin wants to end this the right way, the proper way. And D-16 just throws the rules out the window b/c clearly those have gotten him nothing. And by the time they become Optimus Prime and Megatron, they've essentially switched viewpoints. Megatron has no care for the rules or laws, where as Optimus by comparison does.
Is Sentinel a basic ass villain? Yeah sure but lbr we're not here watching the movie for him. We're here for the doomed friendship between Orion and D-16, to see how they become Optimus and Megatron. That's what *I* was here for lol. So I don't really care if he's a basic ass bitch. Besides, he's dead by the end anyways so. Not enough to hamper my enjoyment of it.
And him being predictable as a villain isn't even a bad thing. Yeah, I clocked early one that he was sus (let's be real, anyone who has Airachnid as their right hand can't possibly be a good person lol), tho not exactly why he was sus. I had been leaning more towards either a) he HAD found the Matrix of Leadership and just didn't want to say he had/couldn't use it and/or was just fucking around up on the surface. But predictability isn't a bad thing (plus it seems like he has been used as an antagonist in previous incarnations so anyone familiar w/ the character would see it coming). There's no original tropes, so ofc it's gonna reuse known ones. And that's fine. He's the power hungry one here.
On that note, the inherent tragedy of the story. If you know anything about Transformers, then you're going into this movie knowing that, no matter how it ends there IS a tragedy to it. And if you don't know anything (yes, people like that exist) then you're unprepared for the tragedy that unfolds between the two leads.
Cause if you're not familiar w/ Transformers you're not likely to be expecting the two lead friends to end up split apart and on opposing factions by the end. Usually the leads end up making up by the end. But they don't. They can't.
And if you are familiar then you're just sitting, watching this friendship break apart and knowing that nothing could change this outcome. It was always going to end this way. And that's the tragedy of it.
On the technical side of things, it looks really really good! I think my favourite animations are the seemingly ever moving rock formations on the surface of Cybertron, the shimmering black rock that seems to grow and move across the land. Like daaaaaamn.
And I can't really complain about the voices. I think they work. Yeah it's not the og voice actor but like, it makes sense. This ISN'T Optimus and Megatron, it's Orion Pax and D-16. They're younger, smaller, they're different. So naturally they are gonna sound different. Plus it makes that gradual voice change into their voices all the more impactful.
I was however expecting to see Megatron rip out Bee's voice box during the big fight at the end to finally shut him up. Since that is a staple of Bee at this point. But he did not so I suppose that is being saved for another movie/story. Just to make us get more attached to Bee and his voice.
Oh and the movie is fucking hilarious and they balance the humour out really well imo.
Like I said. I fucking love this movie.
Also can we just, take a moment to acknowledge the fucking carnage in this PG rated movie??? Like, geezus, the number of characters that get brutally sliced up, blown up, losing limbs, stabbed/speared and of course, Sentinel getting literally ripped in half. But since there's no blood (and they aren't humans) it's totally fine and ok in a PG rated movie. Absolutely wild man. Movie was a damn blood bath in that final fight.

Hellooo ! Can you write about bakugou being our bully since we were kids?? Loveur contect!
Heya! Anon, you didn't give me more specifics so I went with the "boys are mean when they like you" route. Hope you like this~
CW: Bullying, emotional manipulation, threats, coercion, angst, dark content
Childhood bully Bakugo
There has to be a reason for Bakugo to bully you since kids although, to be fair, anything could've triggered that reaction from him. Quirkless? Chasing after a big dream? Perhaps you are better on something he is not. Or maybe people likes you more! Whatever the reason is, Bakugo's grip on you gets progressively worse with time, not as bad as Deku's dynamic with him, but still.
Bakugo's mom likes you a lot, by the way; she always encouraged you to play with his sonny. If only she knew...
As a kid, Bakugo would tend to pull your hair whenever you were too happy about something, sometimes sticking gum to it so you'd have a hard time later. Something about your smile made him feel...weird, and don't get me started with your laughter. He also disliked how much adults and classmates praised you when you did a good job. Why? Because he's supposed to be the best! So if it was him who did good and got praised, he'd look at you with the most smug smile a kid can make and start saying things like "See? That's how you do it! Maybe learn."
Sometimes, just sometimes, he'd be a little bit nicer, scaring away other bullies that would annoy you. Your tiny brain couldn't understand why, so you'd only thank him and scurry away.
Don't get me started with Deku. If you had a nice friendship with Izuku as a kid, Bakugo used that as an excuse to be even more mean to you. "Friend of a loser is also a loser". Besides, he hates seeing you with the freckled boy, even after growing up. The blond can't pin point what bothers him so much about it, but he truly wants to vanish Deku with his own hands whenever you chitchat with him. He'd tease the greenette telling him he was your boyfriend of sorts, but he stopped once he realized Izuku actually liked you. It angered him to know that, getting rough with you.
Teen years of course allowed you to be more adventurous, and while you may have changed a lot, Bakugo was still the same prick to you and Izuku. How Bakugo behaves depends on your personality: if you allow him to bend you until you break, he'll do, just like how he did with Izuku. If you don't get bothered anymore by his antics, he'll retaliate. The only way you had to reduce his antics was to fight back. Mitsuki, Bakugo's mom, always asked why you stopped visiting; you never had the guts to tell her.
Highschool was an odd period for you an Izuku, but not weirder than your time in UA. Bakugo would hang out with his "friends" and annoy you in every given chance. Low grades? He had better ones. High grades? You were such a nerd. Trying to make new friends? He'd scare them away from you because he hated the idea of someone else being with you. Bakugo was the dragon of your tower, scorching any possibility of running away.
If you had the balls to stand up for yourself and Izuku, he'd get pissy. "How dare you talk back to me?" But he wouldn't do more than yelling. It's weakness that makes him worse, being passive triggers a violent response from him because "Why are you not paying attention?" He'd hide your stuff, throw out your books, write things on your desk. He wanted a reaction. Bakugo needs to know he is getting through you, he needs to know he is on top of you and owns you.
The beginning of your stay at UA was a bit scary, specially because Bakugo's behavior got amplified by the opportunity of being "the best". He was already angry that Izuku managed to get in (it surprised you too, honestly, but were happy for him), so you getting in too was a plus. Izuku and you were still very close because of your shared experience with the blond, both of you wary of the reality. Bakugo despised the way you'd protect and take care of Deku, to the point where he warned you that if you continued, you'd make it worse for Izuku. Low-key coerces you to bully Izuku because otherwise he'd do something bad to him, and you knew what he was capable of.
There's a high chance that Bakugo bullies you because he can't bear how you make him feel, but that's another story. Overall, Bakugo is the kind of bully that isolates you from others and hates when you're doing good. The kind of bully that enjoys making you scares because it's the only form he has to get to you, living rent free in your head like a nightmare. He low-key accepted that it didn't matter if he was a monster, he'd be your monster. A vice grip you wouldn't get rid of.
You stand in front of Izuku's desk, hot salty tears rolling down your cheeks as Bakugo holds out a permanent marker for you to take. "What are you waiting for? Do it!" The blond yells, growing impatient as you shake your head. "I'm gonna beat him to a pulp if you don't do it, is that what you want?" He laughs, hearing you sob.
Bakugo wanted you to write mean things for Deku to see, so that Izuku could see how much control he had over you.
"Please, don't make me do it!" You cry, hugging yourself in fear. Katsuki grunts, yanking the cap of the marker and approaching you. The black tip of the tool reaches your face, his hand scribbling something.
'Crybaby'
"Don't wash it, or else..."

Will how vindictive and spiteful a lot of salt fics can be, I'm honestly surprised someone didn't do a salt fic where Felix does use the peacock miraculous to alter Adrien's personality of just erase him completely and present it like it's a good thing.
So I think a big part of it is when Chameleon takes place. Sentidrien wasn't a thing yet, and this was the time Adrien was getting the most salt, nor was there any Peafowl!Felix as that Miraculous was in Nathalie's hands.
And by this point, a lot of that salt has passed, at least for me it has. It helps when you don't continue watching, and your friends stop watching so there's no feeding you new info, and anything you hear about it later is just so bonkers wild it's like, I don't even have a response for it.
The other factor is that its a very extreme idea. Going farther than what most people wanted to do.
When I was reading salt fics at the time, most people just wanted Adrien to be called out and to face consequences for his choices, with the most extreme is having his Miraculous revoked.
The idea of making use of Adrien being a senti, to have him erased and replaced with a "better" version or completely overhauling him and having him "improved", is just a really dark and extreme concept. Canon may be hand wavy about this topic of terminating sentis, sometimes it matters and sometimes it doesn't, but for some it's not so easy a topic to be hand wavy about. Felix as the Peafowl being able to either blip Adrien out of existence or entirely change who he is, it's an unnerving fact. Like, man, I have to question did Felix use the Peafowl to influence Kagami to be interested in him? Is that why she's up to quickly get with her ex's look alike cousin?
Another factor I can think of is there's a lack of satisfaction to the idea. As most salt wants him called out and facing consequences, to erase Adrien or entirely change him into someone new, that means the prior Adrien never really faces the consequences of his actions. There's no true punishment, he just ceases to be, and the replaced or altered senti now has to deal with consequences they didn't even cause. Plus, especially in a case of a replacement, there's going to be no emotional connections to any injured party they'll face. The replaced may not even care.
And there's the factor that this is being done by canon Felix Mindful, fanfiction can offer a lot of leeway and creativity and allow people to do whatever they want, but I do like working off the original medium somewhat, and for this scenario, I factor in this is going to be done by canon Felix, and I have to think what's his agenda, what's his reason. Chances are good he's not going to do this to help Marinette, given they're not close plus his taking advantage of her and handing Gabriel almost all the Miraculous, I don't know if he even knows about Lila or cares about her; I would say he would do this to either torment Chloe or Gabriel. Weaponize Adrien against them, not to make a "better version" of Adrien.
So, personally, I don't see the appeal of it as an Adrien salt idea, as it's unsatisfactory for Adrien salt as he just ceases to be as is and there's no consequences or call outs, and it just feels like a very extreme route. If Adrien really is counted as alive, then this is just straight up killing him.
At most, I'd say it better serve as a dark exploration on the concept of making sentipeople and that dark reality of how much you can control.

Hii, I've read your Sukuna analysis alongwith @thepersonperson's analysis and I have to say I like everyone knew he had a very rough past that made him what he is today but the SA part i didn't even think about it with him but it makes so much sense in the nuanced context. And considering he has been with Kenjaku too for god knows at what age and how long it makes me dread at the possibility.
Regardless I'm not so good with words and just wanted to say that your analysis really gave a different and a deeper perspective on his character and really makes me think what if instead of a 15 year old boy he had someone more mature like Nanami (perceptive and a great listener) with him. Could he ever change (ik Sukuna's redemption is the most hated take in the fandom but my simp mind can't help but wonder the what if...)
Also what are your prediction on how his arc and jjk is going to end because i refuse to believe Yuji's last black flash is taking him down(coping)
I'm so glad you got something out of them! Yeah, I'm both dying to know what Kenjaku's past relationship with Sukuna (and the other reincarnated sorcerers) was and dreading it. (Gege has to fill us in on more Heian lore, right? I'm begging).
Anon, you have some great questions, and my tldr JJK ending / Sukuna hope post just came out of the queue, so I'll go more in depth here (and apologize for such a long reply - I tried to keep this short, but apparently have many thoughts).
I think we've had enough irredeemable villains with the curses and curse users like Kenjaku (I really don't see him being given some tragic backstory that makes us understand him, but maybe Kenjaku was so evil without cause that he became like a curse. Same with Haruta and the older ones in Shibuya - they all preyed on the weak, unprovoked). I think that Geto and Sukuna have been misunderstood because we see through the lense that jujutsu society taught us, and I like that. Sukuna deserves his redemption arc, I believe, I want it so bad.
Tbh I've never thought "what if Nanami was the vessel"? I don't think I'm the best person to explore that possibility, nor can I imagine him eating Sukuna's finger (but it would be funny and I'd be down to read someone else's thoughts).
But you have a great point - I'm going to explore this route with Yaga, instead. While I don't know Yaga's past, he is mature and similar to Sukuna in that they put on this cold shell of character, but are very observant and artistic individuals (the quiet creativity of literature and doll-making??). Hell, Sukuna's hobby being eating and Yaga's compulsion to make dolls could both easily stem from loneliness.
I forget whether I've given Yaga his own analysis post, he's super compassionate - from the design of Panda to the use of his cursed corpses in the manga, to help someone overcome by grief (though it's against the rules and he could be in trouble for it), I also feel like the conservative higher ups take issue with visibly queer students, so Yaga admits them to the Tokyo school, pretends not to notice, he makes sure that they're becoming sorcerers for themselves, etc. He's a great listener and you don't even have to say anything.
Plus, with his cursed corpses, Yaga wouldn't even have to eat Sukuna's fingies - he could feed them to a doll. Then Sukuna can have his own body (while I'm not sure whether he could take his true form this way, he told us that he is more comfortable in Megumi's body than his own - he gets to look like any other person, he fits better with clothing, furniture, the way everything is built... Sukuna could design a vessel to look the way he wants to).
If Sukuna were able to incarnate with his own body at first, then he wouldn't have to continue the cycle by repressing another soul (and then feeling gross about it), he would be able to chill and discuss poetry. I think he would still be full of rage at times, and have a lot of emotions and shadow work to process through, but Yaga would listen to Sukuna and find a solution to free him from Kenjaku's plot. (even if Sukuna is under a pact to not discuss certain things, Yaga might be able to figure out what he needs to know).
Or if Yaga had eaten a finger at first, then he wouldn't have just ignored Sukuna - maybe he wouldn't say much, but he would listen. At least have conversations when they were alone. Maybe teach him to make his own cursed corpse and provide it with the fingers they'd find together (I like this AU... Thanks for the idea).
But I have thought that if Megumi were the original vessel, they might have a symbiotic relationship like Hana and Angel. Megumi and Sukuna were both abandoned children, seen first for their differences, their strength, put into a separate category against their will. It was their birthright and they never asked for it.
I rly believe that Kenjaku made sure Yuuji would be the perfect cage psychologically as well - it was important for him to have no emotional understanding of Sukuna, to not be able to relate at all.
Ultimately I hope that Sukuna gets to have his own body, I think that could solve a lot, though he does have a lot to work through and recover from.
I do have fear in my heart from the recent chapter, where there's a frame of Sukuna with white eyes from being hit by Yuuji - it reminds me too much of Mahito in Shibuya, and that better mean nothing. (or maybe it means that we get to see Sukuna's final form, which is fine. Uraume said he's been holding back, after all.)
Something drastic has to happen if there are 4 chapters left and gege mentioned the ending would be satisfying for most people.
So my predictions for JJK ending...
I have 2 routes of predictions, but they could both happen, I guess. A few things listed have already come true. But almost every time I've been right, Gege throws in something unpredictable. I'm trying to finish my 3rd manga read by the next chapter so I can look for clues about the future.
I still can't let go of my cryogenic domain theory (it's not Chosover), or the possibility of time travel - whether to prevent things from happening, or to understand the present better, I can't rule it out.
Oh, and it's not Gojover either. He's the honored one throughout heaven and earth. But especially - the ability to create sugar? That guy Yuuji went to school with... His CT is so random. But who was always eating sugar? Gojo. It always felt like such a massive hint, along with the recent artwork of Gojo, Yuuji and Megumi - all three of them have taken on traits of the one possessing their body. That's why Gojo looks like that, I swear. His brain is just recovering right now. He might show up with Rika, in Yuuta's body.
I'm not confident in predicting these things, but I'd like for them to happen...
Shiu Kong hasn't been seen in a long time. Not since Geto took over the cult. We know very little about Shiu, but he was Toji's friend for 10 years, knew Megumi when he was little, used to be a detective, and is a Korean citizen. So whether he moved to Korea, or awakened some CT, or decided to figure out what was going on in Japan... I don't know, I just think it would be neat to see what he's doing, to have him be the one to tell Megumi about his father. He knew Toji the best, and Gege liked his character.
Gege did say that the end is satisfying, and I forgot about Mei, so if anyone has to die then I really hope she's the one. I don't see how this would happen, unless by Geto's hands.
Geto could return - Gojo said he would have been satisfied if Geto were there with him. Gojo is coming back, and bringing him along. I've been long hoping for Geto's return - Sukuna grew Yuuji a new heart, so maybe Geto's brain can return as well. Then he might have access to Kenjaku's memories, and a thousand years of jujutsu knowledge would be good for them (I was so stressed at finding out Yuuta did not make a pact with and revive Kenjaku for this reason). I also thought that Yuuta was the type to bring Geto's body back, especially when Gojo wanted to mourn it. Since we know he can basically teleport those who he's copied, it seems even more likely. I'm of the belief that the airport is not Gojo's hallucination - how would he know Haibara visited Nanami? (unless they were so close that it was obvious this would happen...)
I'll end with some hope for us Sukuna simps - the first episode was called Ryomen Sukuna, not Yuuji Itadori. Details like that had rumors going that Sukuna is really the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, so... Maybe... (I hope it really is all about him).
Edit to add: Gojo will become Sukuna's vessel

hi there!! so I was recently looking for visual novels to occupy my time with, and I came across 21 questions, so I played it. and I loved it. so I played tulipe. and I liked that one a lot too. then I checked out your social media and I was really curious about the ✨️paranormal club lore✨️, so I just played all of them-
I didn't realize it when I was playing the game, but I've seen a lot of your our life art here on tumblr and I can't get over how pretty it is! even when it's just doodles that you do for fun, I still really like your style cause you make everyone look so nice. even if you're just drawing clem in a clown suit, we still love that
I don’t usually draw anymore because even though I used to like it, I feel like I lack all motivation to do it now, but seeing your art is really giving me inspiration to pick up a paper and a pencil and start drawing again :D
I personally share your love for visual novels, and I enjoy replaying yours because they're honestly so nice. I guess I just like seeing the way the story progresses and how relatable the characters feel, especially as a non-binary person who struggles to see themselves represented in games. plus I just like the voice acting in 21 questions
if I'm honest, even if it wasn't my usual genre of romance, night shift was a good play as well, especially for your first game! I can feel the inspiration from horror games and I love those types of things sm. I get why you'd wanna go back and redo it someday, but I think especially in terms of the plot and characters, it had a captivating plot and it was well written... françoise betrayed us tho rip
also this isn't about the games but from what I've seen, it honestly feels like you're a really nice person who happens to be really talented and so you deserve really nice things. even if you haven't been getting them until now, I hope you do start because you deserve it!! I like reading your visual novel rambles bc I agree with a lot of stuff, just me nodding my head in agreement like I wouldn't look crazy if anyone saw me. and it feels nice to see that people still talk about fictif stories to this day cause god they've been collecting dust 😭 I miss those days where I'd be so excited whenever an update was announced... guess I'll never get my rime route now :(
lastly, I just wanna say that I love clem sm. they're literally so cool but still so adorable and I wanna give them all the love and affection. I want us to bake together and then paint each other's nails 💅
and this question has been keeping me awake at night so I just have to ask, I know that at the end of the game he said we'd keep in contact like aurore and her partner, but would they let mc just. follow them to London while he does his thing? there's no point in being in France without your blond french, and I've always wanted to move to an english speaking place anyways... clem can put me in their suitcase, I'll be good 🫶
thank you for listening to my silly rambles, I hope you're having a good day and if not, I really hope it gets better! remember to take care of yourself and take breaks whenever you need them, you're only human so you aren't always gonna be perfect, but at least you know you always try your best even if things don't go the way you want them to <3
Anon whoever you are I love you and I really wish you a wonderful day I started sobbing a bit too hard and now my eyes kinda hurt a bit but your message makes me feel a lot of things and I’m really grateful for such kindness. I’m fucking crying on my poor plushies cause I don’t have tissue, they are all wet and miserable 😭😭😭😭 Words trully can’t explain how much this message means to me, like, this is the kind of message that i’ll keep in my phone gallery to look at when i feel sad and it’s just so sweet and it rassure all the bad things I think about myself so I’m very emotional. It’s 2 am and I had a very long day so I physically and emotionally don’t handle it well but i promise it’s / pos i’m just blabling incoherent thoughts just to say thank you so much and I’m glad you enjoy what I create and I’m glad you draw again and I hope you find joy in making stuff you like + you get soft and cold pillow at night and warm meals in winter anon.
Now i am so sad to spread bad news BUT…. The canon ending of 21 questions is the platonic ending. 21q happens in 2019, Clem move to London in 2021 and ( spoiler alert ) will be spotted in Apple bag which takes place in 2022. Clem’s character and story haven’t entirely been revealed in his game for reasons that I’ll hopefully share in a futur but it’s for the same reasons that realistically… the relationship in 21q is destined to end with distance.
BUT that not the end if you imagine a future with Clem. If your intention is to romance them then there is an open window for the timeline where he’s a bit older. When exactly ? I won’t spoil but all I have to say is that this relationship can work on long term ! It’s just a good person, wrong moment situation and once you know everything about him, then his romance options become more real :}
Mystic talk sorry, like i said i just had an emotional breakdown and it’s late so i will shut my mouth and go to sleep ! Once again thank you so much for your kind words an hopefully you’ll like what I plan to release in the future. Tons of love ❤️
