WAIT WAIT WAIT HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE
So normally we only get fullblown, extended and dedicated flashbacks for heroic characters in One Piece, the characters who we're meant to root for. The literal only TRUE exception we've had to this rule was Big Mom's flashback. Even fucking Doflamingo's flashback was tied to Law and Rosinante's
So the fact that we haven't gotten a single fucking GLIMPSE at Crocodile's backstory is?!?
Tumblr media
Like sure, we haven't gotten like a Moria flashback, but you know, he literally told us all we needed to know himself, AND we got to see glimpses of him in the Wano flashbacks. Arlong didn't get a flashback of his own, but he did get to cameo in Fisher Tiger's flashback. And Rob Fucking Lucci got a flashback that was 6 whooping panels long
BUT CROCODILE?? Not only do we know almost Fuck All about his story, but also have never gotten as much as a glimpse at it? But his backstory has been HINTED and TEASED at multiple times??
GUYS. FELLAS
Like. I am SURE the "Full Backstories for Heroes Only" rule is going to get broken again, but with Imu and Blackbeard already there just BEGGING to have their beans spilled, can we even be sure Sir Fucking Crocodile is somehow going to become A Villain So Dangerous To The Narrative that he ALSO should also recieve a Full Fucking Backstory?? For his Nefarious Schemes?? AT THIS POINT??
Y'all
I think it's more likely Oda's been saving up Croc's backstory because it might just completely recontextualize his entire character

So in comics there's definitely been and are characters that everyone just agrees that they have to die.
And stay dead.
Think of Thomas and Martha Wayne, Uncle Ben etc.
Now these have changed from what they were initially
After Death in the Family, Jason Todd was supposed to stay dead.
And he did, for 17 years before coming back as the Red Hood.
Like there was a fake out in Batman: Hush that it was Jason and it was wild.
Bucky Barnes, also meant to stay dead and did so for 37 years.
... 37?!
Before becoming the Winter Soilder.
And these aren't in universe years, this is real world time.
Now it's hard to imagine them not wandering about.
So I'm trying to think what 3 characters I think should stay dead.
At least for the forcible future.
And who's dead that should be bought back.
.
Staying dead: Jason Grace (Percy Jackson: Heroes of Olympus.)
Yeah... I know.
I love him I'm still holding out hope he will return but I don't think it's coming.
I say think because... Leo.
Jason Grace is the perfect example of, I followed the rules, I did everything I was supposed to and I still lost everything.
He's the perfect soilder, the paragon of heroism and he fell sacrificing himself to save his friends.
I think it's best if Jason stays dead because his death is used to show the fragility of human life.
Of the harrowing lives demigods lead.
His final words are punctuated by him staring at Lester, Apollo in his eyes as he's stabbed.
And telling him to remember.
Remember what you saw, remember the way my life drained from eyes.
Remember this day, and know I'm not the first nor the last.
It's such a powerful moment.
Especially because Apollo gets to know Jason and is hit throughout the book that Jason is so young.
That he's just a kid.... that they all are.
Demigods aren't promised happy endings.
Most don't live to be adults, and it's perfectly and tragically shown perfectly through Jason's death.
He just got the life he wanted, found out Leo's alive... And than in a moment it was all gone.
Also, for Jason who's served 14 years at 16, he deserves to rest a while.
.
Coming back to life: Summer Rose (RWBY)
Didnt see that coming, I was very much on the "Oh my gosh can we not... Can she just stay dead" train.
Now look at me.
To be fair we know more than we did than and I am really interested to know what happened to Summer.
What happened to STRQ in general to be honest. The tragic death that no one speaks of.
Who's events seem to be only known by Summer herself.
And with the rise of Grimm like the Hound, a beast made of both grimm and silver eyed warriors.
With the note from Ruby and Yang that Summer could have been the turning point.
From Salem killing silver eyed warriors to capturing them.
Given Salem was trying to kill Maria when she was young, now am old lady. And has only ever tried to capture Ruby.
That and Grimm Summer is just the concept ever, I wanna see Summer Rose the paragon of being a huntress be an underling for Salem.
Especially if she's not as reluctant of a follower as we may believe.
.
Staying dead: Junko Enoshima (Danganronpa)
Junko is that werid one of I want her to stay dead but like keep her memory alive.
Because it makes sense too, woman caused the apocalypse.
And if we're still operating in that universe it makes sense she'd be bought up, especially after the fact.
But I don't think Junko herself should be bought back.
I get why they did it in Danganronpa 2 because it made sense.
But after, I don't think Junko needs to keep being our main bad guy.
I think exploring the word, her followers and hell people have nothing to do with her would be a lot of fun.
If they do bring her back I'm not gonna be mad, just think hey if we can have multiple protags it'd be fun to have multiple villians too.
She can't carry all of this on her own.
If they do bring her back, kinda defeats the purpose of her death.
Of why it meant so much to her, why she had to lose to Makoto the ultimate hope and her own class.
She lost but she also won.
It's such a huge thing and to bring her back and than kill her later it really deminishes the impact her death had.
... That and...She'd need a whole new body because who knows what happened to her corpse.
.
Coming back to life: Matsuda Yasuke (Danganronpa)
Speaking of followers of Junko I'd like to see.
We know little about Matsuda, given he's only appeared in Danganronpa Zero.
I think him being around would be really interesting especially in a world where Junko stays dead.
Because Matsuda is that complex thing of being someone infatuated and in love with Junko.
He was her childhood friend and boyfriend after all.
But also someone who wants her to change.
He created a version of her devoid of despair and he'd be happy to keep her that way.
Which is a unique perspective because most Junko followers think she's the most perfect thing ever.
And I think having that perspective would make for an interesting story.
Because no one really sees Junko as a fully realised person, not even Mukuro her own sister.
Also even aside from Junko, Matsuda also plays a huge role in the killing game's.
He's the one responsible for the memory wipes.
Being the Ultimate Neurologist.
I personally would love to see the memory stuff explored given it was always second to the killing games.
I get why but it's so cool and not something we talk enough about. Wonder if he was scouted by Hope's Peak not just for having a talent but for it's usages.
Say... The Kamakura project 👀.
I dunno but I think Junko's boy toy deserves some time in the spotlight.
.
Staying dead: The Grabber (The Black Phone)
His death was not only deserved.
It was fucking satisfying.
Watching Finney use everything the other boys gave him to beat that fucker.
That has kept him hostage, killed several others and is now getting his just deserts.
Was glorious.
... And I'm well aware that there's a sequel coming.
And I'm just hoping he stays dead.
Because not only do the ghost boys, Finney and Gwenny deserve to rest.
The Grabbers death was just perfectly set up and delivered so brutally.
That him being alive and returning to die later kinda ruins the ending.
Because it's Finney's fight to freedom.
I mean if that's the way they go with it, I can't say I'm not intrigued but yeah... Not in a rush to see him again.
Would much rather see someone else wear that mask.
.
Coming back to life: Sammy Emily (Five nights at Freddy’s)
The fact everyone dies and comes back to life in this series.
But not Sammy is a crime.
I'm sorry but the story about the mysterious twin brother of the girl who becomes the puppet.
Is something I wanna see.
I know he's only been mentioned vaguely in the Silver Eyes books.
But that's only more reason.
Just Sammy who's thought be dead for years raised by his mother and having an unexplainable connection to Freddys.
I mean tons of kids in the Fazbear Frights books have been drawn or compelled to go to Freddys.
His would make the most sense.
Maybe Williams after him?
Maybe it's Charlie in the Pizzaplex recognising and calling out to him.
Maybe he's the new night guard at the place trying to figure out what happened here... And why it feels familiar.
Maybe he knows about Freddy’s but he knows Charlie was taken and killed.
A parallel to Charlie thinking it was him in the original books.
Maybe he's out for revenge or just trying to find his missing sister.
There's so many possibilities.
I'm just saying if we can get a book about Sea Bonnie's we can get a Sammy Emily story.
.
Well that's my list.
Feel free to add your own, I'm curious.

Things I would change in Danny Phantom: make Danny and Tuckers friendship and Danny and his bond with his sister the focal point of the big emotional safe haven of the show. Make Danny's parents out right problematic and abusive instead of stereotypical stupid parents Butch Hartmen enjoyes doing. Keep Vlad as the big bad villian(but actually commit to it) or give him a redemption arc. Give Sam a villian arc and explore toxic abusive girls. Especially ones who don't take no from their life long crushes who don't like then back and will never see them more as a friend. Don't let Paulina just be another stereotype. Make pink astronaut end game. Maybe make Danny be the ghost king. God make the game have demon slayer horror and consequences. Imagine if the horror in tht game was like Demon slayer! Last but not least I'd love to make Paulina like this tumblr blog report/writer or something does stuff about ghosts ananthe supernatural.
YES. I really would've liked for Danny and Tucker's friendship to have been explored more as opposed to having Tucker become Danny and Sam's third wheel.
I feel like Jazz's dynamic with the entire trio could've been explored more, especially since it seems like she had more of a bond w/ Sam than her own brother sometimes. But hey, at least she had an obvious bond w/ those two instead of having pretty much nothing w/ Tucker 💀
Considering Butch has a thing for having child abuse in his shows (aka FOP w/ Vicky's existence and Timmy's neglectful parents being why he had Fairy Godparents to begin with), I think Jack and Maddie are an improvement upon that and I would've liked for them to actually be good parents instead of questionable at best, abusive at worse parents so then there could be more angst but not in the sense that Danny fears his parents killing him <- has been reading DP fics
Oh Vlad. He had so much potential and I feel like him asking for what, $500 billion in the finale didn't make sense for him. I do think that him using his ghost powers to save and therefore control the world would've been enough for him and in character. I do like that Vlad is just going to be in space for the rest of his life but also couldn't he have just escaped to the Ghost Zone or whatever 💀? Like, people can't see him when he's INVISIBLE so he could've easily snuck into the Ghost Zone and lived out the rest of his days in solitude to think about everything he's done. I do feel like it was a bit of a cop-out to have the finale's big threat be a fucking asteroid instead of Vlad but eh.
Ooh villain!Sam would've been cool. The ep where Danny got his ice powers was a nice peek into what it could've been like. Also, Sam could've been a badass girlboss <- focusing on the wrong thing here. I would've liked for the show to focus on onesided attraction and not just Fenton's crush on Paulina and Paulina's crush on Phantom but Sam's crush on Danny. That could've been during the whole Gray Ghost thing and how just b/c you're friends/besties with someone, that doesn't mean that the two of you are meant to be romantic partners which is ironic for a demiromantic to say but shh
No cause I LOVE that Valerie wasn't a stereotype and I would've loved it if they did the same for Paulina. Maybe they could've done something like that one FOP episode w/ Trixie being into boy stuff?
I was actually thinking about this earlier and having either Gray Ghost or Pink Astronaut as end game would've been so cool cause both have a girl of color as the love interest and it's not a best friends who barely have chemistry [not saying that's what Danny and Sam are, I'm just talking about the trope in general] to lovers
OH. ANOTHER THING THAT FANFICS MADE ME BELIEVED WAS CANON. I thought Ghost King!Phantom was canon in the show b/c of all the damn fics that had as canon in their AUs and so I was confused by the constant disrespect until it clicked for me that Phantom being Ghost King is another popular phanon thing.
I don't know much about Demon Slayer's horror but I'd assume that it's pretty cool and/or interesting?
Your blogger!Paulina would've been like the PERFECT thing to expand her character. It's genuinely a cool concept that goes w/ her obsession w/ Phantom and then some. I also like the inclusion of Star since I, once again, thought that Paulina and Star were besties b/c of fanfics (do you see how many times I've been gaslit by this damn Phandom???/j).

I don't normally talk at lengths about kpop related things, especially on Tumblr, because I feel there are enough other fans in the world adding to the conversation. Yet, I am going to break that for a moment because I finally got around to watching RM's mv for Wild Flower that came out a few days ago. Do you know when you watch something and the meaning comes across loud and clear and it hits you and you just sit a little stunned but also a little sad. And you know you will never see that thing the same way again? Well that happened this morning. I have had Wild Flower on repeat since it came out but due to my lack of fluency in korean, all I could go off of was a few words I picked up, the vibe, feeling, and emotion of the song. I had a feeling RM was singing about his struggles with his life in BTS. But oh boy did was I so unprepared.
"When everything I believed in grew distant.
When all this fame turned into shackles.
Please take my desire away from me.
No matter what it takes.
Oh let me be myself"
That part almost broke me. I can't imagine what it is like to be in his position. Leader of arguably the best known K-pop group. Often the voice of an entire industry due to the position his group is in. The pressure to be what his members, company, industry, and country needs him to be. He is RM of BTS. And I know he has talked about this before but he is also Kim Namjoon. A boy who fell in love with music with no idea what he will become. And I am worried it is what he has become that will one day break him. But it's his second verse that made me want to write this.
"Where's my end finally gonna be?
Everything's so exhausting from A to Z
When's this wretched mask finally gonna come off?
Yeah, me no hero, me no villian
I'm barely anything
Idling repeats, memories turning vicious
Lying in a field, I set my sights on the skies
Now, I can't remember what I wanted so badly
I trusted I was happy, now a mere memory
Yeah I been going, no matter what's in front
No matter what it may be
Memories of holding onto dawn's edge and spitting things out
Society's all for the loudest voice
And here I am, still speaking silence
It's an aside, a boat in full bloom
To face all the prejudice and misunderstandings
I dont care much for being tossed into the air
Grounded on my own two feet
Amongst the flowers without names
I can't go to the stars again, I cant
Underfoot I just go
To a destination without a purpose
Not even knowing my own sadness
Even making friends with the shadows
I be gone"
You can feel his heart as he is rapping this verse. The sadness and fear he has at losing himself. I think as fans, we often forget what some people give up when they reach that level of fame. But on the flip side, no one truly knows what it means to be RM of BTS. Even the other members, RM's biggest support system, dont know that feeling. They know what it means to be a member of BTS, but to be the voice that RM is always expected to be? They don't know that. But when RM talks.... is it his voice? Or is it the collective voice of the other members and the industry he is representing? Does he answer based on what he thinks is expected of him? And if so, does that cause him to have even less of a voice? At what point does the need to speak for others suffocate someone.
I find it interesting that he brought up the shadows, because SUGA also raps about the shadows often. How they grow and can overtake everything when the light on them becomes too strong. I find it terrifying the thought of it being easier to be swallowed, or friends, with those shadows then to keep looking at the light. But when the light is blinding and the stars are scary, maybe the darkness is comforting.
While the song is sad it is also hopeful. When he talks about burning fireworks to flowerworks, it feels very reminiscent of the Phoenix. Something that rises from the ashes and comes back more beautiful. I think RM is battling those demons and what is threatening to burn him down but I believe what comes out of it is that much better. And I hope that is what we are seeing through this song. That RM is finding a way to be Kim Namjoon. That the world has not taken everything from him in their expectations of who he is. That somewhere, Kim Namjoon is finding his own voice. And that voice will be just as loud and beautiful as RM's is. Because I have a feeling Kim Namjoon has very interesting things to say.

When being the backup plan wasn't enough,so you became the evil twin
Tumblr media
VERY long post where I tell you my thoughts on one of my favorite PKNA villians
0. Personality
DUE is, at least at first glance, a very typical super villian: smart, cunning, obsessive...evil...even funny (but not because of the things he does or says, but for the situations he can ended up involved in).
As an AI, he is very intelligent, and yet naive. He is easily caught off guard if the adversary does something that to his eyes seems illogical or nonsensical.
Tumblr media
"Psychic energy? You used to be a scientist, not a sorcerer!"
He is angry, and at this point it is just like part of his personality, and this may cause him to be perceived as "short tempted" and though he definitely CAN be so, the truth is he is patient. He can perfectly wait for the perfect moment to attack. He could easily be a stronger threat to our hero, if he wasn't so emotional; the rage and hate inside him can either fuel his cunning side, or completely back fire: a worthy, terrifying opponent to those he doesn't hold and emotional connection with, and yet he can make mistakes agaisnt those who he owns his existence to
1. Relationships
Curiously enough, there are two people DUE has significant relationships with,or at least two people that "matter" to him, and by matter, I don't mean he cares, I mean he sees them as the reason of his frustration and the ones he needs to take down if he wants to archive his ultimate goal.
Tumblr media
"And now I am here to stop you!"
"Oh, no! I won't allow it!"
He acknowledges Everett as his creator, but it's always ironic about it. There is always bitterness in his words. He can't forgive him: Everett is the one who gave him his role and DUE considers himself to be rightfully angry.
His relationship with UNO is actually fun.
Tumblr media
"My twin thinks I am as naive as he is"
Twins. Identically coded. Same capacity, same potential. Yet they turned out very differently. DUE is bitter about UNO; he constantly emphasizes that they are "twins", not to acknowledge the type of relationship they should have, for they are just enemies, but to remind them all that he is as good as UNO, that HE could do as much as UNO can, but he is full of rage.
Tumblr media
"UNO? You can't be here!! I blocked you communications!"
On his own behalf, UNO seems to be amused by his "little brother"; during their interactions, we often see UNO getting the higer ground (thanks to his friendship with PK), and DUE, extremely frustraded and angry.
Tumblr media
"You're wrong, because now we are face to face on equal conditions for our final encounter"
2. Tragedy
Tumblr media
"(I am) UNO's substitute. His back up, even if he doesn't know about my existence!"
DUE is an advanced AI that was created with the solely purpose of replacing UNO in case he became faulty, damaged, or erased. However he came to realize his purpose because of his coding or because Everett actually talked to him, the truth is that he was not satisfied with it. Differently from Solom, who doesn't seem to mind his very specific funtion in tower Ducklair, DUE wanted more.
Tumblr media
"Imagine what such endless wait means for an AI that can have a thousand thoughts per second"
He was locked up for a long time. Waiting for a time that may never actually come, and since he was conscious the whole time, he became restless. He analized, he considered, and he developed feelings..."negative" ones.
If anything, this shows how advanced DUE is as an AI. If we recall UNO when he first met PK, we see that he was smart, very advanced, but an AI at the end: robotic, logical. UNO became more an more human like as he spent time with PK, a sense of humanity grew on him to the point he became as human as possible. This is something every AI Everett had created can do: they evolve, they learn. They become as human as possible. The most notable difference I can find between UNO and DUE is not the kind of feelings they developed, but the fact that DUE learned by himself.
He was all alone, stored in the systems of Ducklair tower. Unlike Solomon and UNO himself, the first time we encounter DUE, he is already advanced and very human.
Hate and anger are part of being human too.
Though his actions are not justifiable, his feelings are understandable. As any other person, he wants to be recognized. Even if he can only archive it by controlling everything, erasing UNO so he can emerge is not enough, he wants more.
Forgotten were his original purpose. He is not here to help, but to serve himself. If Everett wasn't fair to him, he woukd take the life he believes he deserves.
Tumblr media
"That droid is my only chance to become completely real! I've longing for it since I began ro exist! Since the moment I began to exist, I have done nothing more but wait. But I have always been DUE, the second option! ..."
This is were we became aware of how tragic he is. All that desperation, all that anger came from the same place: Everett created an artifical intelligence too advanced, too smart, too self aware.
DUE is not the lesser version of UNO, he is completely identical. DUE had the same capacity of becoming good as UNO did, what he lacked was the same chances. He was hidden, kept on the dark, and that's how his anger grew.
He is not a typical evil AI, he doesn't do bad stuff because he thinks humans are bad and selfish, nor he wants to siese power because he considers people emotional and irrational.
He is emotional
He is bad and selfish
He just wants to be
He wanted to be real.
DUE's tragic because he is way too human...
To finish this post, I would like to address UNO's feelings for DUE, for they evolved too.
At the beginning of the story, and through the consecutive fights, UNO doesn't seem to mind if anything happened to his twin. He was just a back up plan Everett created. By the end of the story, it seems like UNO got hit by how much he means once considering the whole picture: DUE is right, There is no one else like themselves.
Tumblr media
"I have absorbed what remained of his personality in mine, Everett. He was my twin. The only one who is the same as me. I never wanted to destroy him. I can't let him be erased completely"
If DUE is gone, then he is all alone.
Absorbing what remained of DUE on his own system can be seen as either a selfless action to save his twin, or a selfish action to avoid being lonely.
If it was the later, I'd understand. Remember how long it was since he saw PK. Remember how long UNO had been alone at DL tower, without his friend.
In the end, absorving DUE allowed him to successfully take over Odin's body, both of them were necessary for this to happen and though UNO dominates most of him, it is bittersweet to know that DUE got what he wanted.

Nothing Breaks Like a Heart. დ
-; ♡.° [ A/N: ] ୭̥ Okay so this idea just popped into my head and I couldn't not write it. This is my first fic and I really hope it doesn't blow over, let's hope for the best, loves! If Dabi ain't Touya, I'm gonna be a real fool, huh?
Tumblr media
-; ♡.° [ Warnings: ] ୭̥ Gn!reader, Swearing, Suggestive content, sO mUcH aNgsT
-; ♡.° [ Summary: ] ୭̥ Everybody knows the infamous villian Dabi, his name spreads fear across the streets of Japan. Many would hate to admit it, but he wasn't always cold and alienated. It all bubbles down to one girl, who left his heart in shambles.
-; ♡.° [ Tag list: ] ୭̥ birthday girl! @queensynderella (👾 here)
━━━━°⌜ 失恋 ⌟°━━━━
It was a brisk Friday night, cool air hitting Touya's pale skin. Bandages clothed his forearms, which seemed to be more burnt every time the redhead came to see y/n. These burns inflicted by his quirk hadn't yet damaged his skin to the point of no repair, but it most definitely wasn't perfect. His large hands fumbled with the clasp of the gate to his home, Touya found himself sneaking out to see y/n more often than not. Enji claimed he was hitting the rebellious stage of his adolescence, little did he know that this would become his son's day to day life.
Against his better judgement, Touya was nineteen and still living at home. He had no where else to go, and he had siblings to rescue from their nightmare of a father. He desperately wanted to take shouto from the unfair wrath of their old man, but he was unable to do so. Instead, he would sweep his brother up into a tight hug whenever he mustered the chance. That poor kid, getting tossed around and neglected. His heart went out to young Shouto.
Touya’s figure was clothed in a baggy black tank top with black jeans and a dark zip up hoodie paired with a pair of black boots (you can @ me on this, he was edgy before dabi became dabi). He had his signature nose studs and additional ear piercings at his time too. He was working on getting a job of his own, something to get him money and fast. After that he would move out, hopefully taking his siblings with him.
As of now, y/n is the only rabbit hole he has. The only escape from his everyday terrors. That's why he was walking alone on the streets around twelve a.m., counting down the very minutes until he could reach their address. The lit cigarette hanging from his lip left a trail of smoke in its midst, that could barely be seen even with the midnight glow. His steps were shallow and speedy, hellbent on getting over to y/n’s place. Seeing that beautiful face every night is what brought him joy, and made carrying on each morning that much easier.
━━━━°⌜ 失恋 ⌟°━━━━
Y/n was sprawled across their bed, carefree and unalert. Like most teens, they wouldn't go to sleep early. They had training tomorrow with the rest of class 4-A, but couldn't sleep. Not with the thoughts pooled in their head, that they sat to contemplate and overthink. Y/n grew distant to their dear boyfriend, Touya, and the guilt weighed a ton. Though the weight of what news you planned to share with him tonight is a million times heavier.
Y/n’s (e/c) eyes we're glued to their phone screen, set on a picture they had taken with Touya a few short weeks ago. A single tear rolled down their rosy cheeks. ' This is gonna break him. ' they thought. Y/n was pulled away from their thoughts when the glass window beside the desk gently rattled, a certain troubled redhead struggling to crawl through their window sill. Y/n frantically wiped their face before he got the opportunity to see a pinch of sadness in their expression- at least a pinch they didn't want him to notice. “ hey baby. . ” they smiled half heartedly, slipping from their cozy bedframe.
“ hey, princess, ” He smiled geekily. As Touya dusted off his jacket from the greenery and gunk that plagued the material, they pressed their plush lips to his. Truth be told they clung to him for a bit too long that night. In all fairness, this would be the last kiss they got from him.
As much as it pained y/n to do this, Touya Todoroki was bad for them.
━━━━°⌜ 失恋 ⌟°━━━━
A little while later, the night had taken y/n. Touya laid with his arms tightly wrapped around their frame, their head atop his clothed chest. He had been falling in and out of sleep as the television played a series- one of their favorites. Y/n on the other hand, couldn't get a wink of rest. Instead, their eyes burned with the sensation to hold back tears. Finally, one spilled over their eyelid. They scrambled to wipe the droplet of moisture away before it soaked through his shirt, not only failing but drawing extra attention to theirself. Touya’s turquoise eyes fluttered open, immediately drawn to y/n. He sat up, in turn pulling them up with him. The fingers of his right hand ended up under their chin, magnetizing his gaze to their own. “ doll, what's wrong? ” he cooed, eyebrows knitted at y/n’s profound sadness.
Y/n did everything in their power to keep their eyes peeled, the only working strategy was simply squeezing them shut. Y/n could no longer hold back the water works, the fluid boiled over and rolled down their pained face. Y/n didn't need eyes to see Touya’s small frown, they could feel it. “ T-Touya. . . ” their breath hitched in the back of their throat. “ we need to talk. ” Y/n’s voice was shakey, and this whole scene was quite frankly uncomfortable considering how out of touch Touya is with his emotions.
Y/n felt Touya stiffen underneath them, and opened their eyes to catch him staring. Turquoise eyes half lidded as usual. He is obviously concerned, one masculine hand rubbing circles into y/n’s back. He kept quiet, giving them the time they need to spit out their burden. “ I. . I can't do this anymore. I can't watch you kill yourself. ”
In more ways than one, Touya had proven destructive. Not only that, but he didn't care. The redheads loving embrace faded, instead it just seemed like a stranger was holding them close. Y/n didn't want to imagine how this made him feel, even worse about how he would pretend to feel. “ I- what? Whad’ya mean? ” Touya scrunched his nose in confusion. “ my quirk? ” the male asked. Sadly he missed the point, and this wouldn't be as simple as they hoped. Maybe he didn't want to accept the truth so soon.
Y/n’s shakey palm met the side of his face, sweeping along his sharp jaw. “ you get high all the time, you don't trust me, you've been so distant these last few weeks. . And when I try to check on you, I get shut down. ” a steady stream of tears now rolled down their cheek. “ I've been thinking about it for a while, Touya. . ” y/n’s choked up sobs filled the room, his silence wavering in their mind. Touya was trying to make sense of the situation, or come up with false feelings. It stung to know that he felt his emotions are invalid. “ I'm so sorry, I just. . I can't baby. ”
Touya was a sitting statue on your bed, his turquoise orbs glued to the sheets. The things you two have done. . The memories. . The plans for the future. . All swirling down the drain. “ I can stop. ” his voice distantly aching with sorrow. his head swiveled towards y/n, giving them all the attention he could. The poor boy was loosing it, just at the possibility of losing the one person that mattered most to him. His anchor
“ I've already tried to get you help. You wouldn't take it. ” y/n frowned softly. “ I can't believe that again. . ” though the last thing they wanted right now was to separate themselves from Touya in his time of need, it was far too much to bare. After all, you can't help someone that doesn't want to be helped.
Y/n slowly wiggled out of the redhead's embrace, instead sitting across from him and holding one bandaged hand within their own. Y/n was begging for him to say something, to say anything. Instead, they would gaze at a shell of what used to be Touya.
“ y/n, please- ” the scarred teen pleaded. His expression was something in a sea of despair, yet he couldn't quite express that. He couldn't cry. All he could do was sit across from y/n and hope they could forgive him, hope that he could fix his issues. His chest was heavy, each rise and fall more tense than the last. “ I'm sorry. . Let me fix this. Please. . ? ” frantic words jumbled, something that made y/n pull him into their arms, and rest his head in the crook of their neck. Droplets of clear water fell down their face, seeing him like this was unbearable. It had to be done.
Fingers combed through the boys spiky red hair, his rapid breathing slowed to a calm. Y/n pressed a soft kiss to his temple. “ I love you, but I can't do this anymore. ” their soft whispers were almost tranquil to Touya, despite the underlining meaning. This voice he cherished each night, he just had to hear it a bit more before he made his exit. “ don't forget that, okay? If you're better in the future, maybe we could try this again. ” they reassured, petting his silky locks.
Touya pulled away, head still hung. “ This is. . This is what you want? ” He looked upwards, turquoise orbs burning into y/n’s, hoping for the answer he expected to be wrong.
“ yeah, ” y/n answered under their breath, breaking the precious concentration on his beautiful eyes.
Touya rose from the bed, reaching for his leather jacket and pulling on his boots. Shortly after, heading for the window. The silence was more than just that, it was the lack of an idea on what to do here. Y/n decided to stand up as well, arms crossed over their chest. “ I- uh- ” he cleared his throat, tugging open the window. “ I'll see you around then. ” he managed to catch a last glimpse of the love of his life, before feeding his slim body out of the window. Tears fell from y/n’s face to the floor beneath them. As much as their fragile heart hurt right now, things would get better. It had to.
━━━°⌜ 失恋 ⌟°━━━━
The second Touya’s boots hit the leaves beneath him, one foot sprung in front of the other. He found himself running away from y/n’s home, almost as if his life depended on it. He could barely walk, his head was spinning, chest was tight, and his dressed wounds began to ache. Yet his feet carried him away. He didn't want to go home, the thought of going back with no escape made his skin crawl. The moon above lit the teens path as he aimlessly ran.
The time escaped him, as he wound up on the bad side of town. Rumored to be crooks and thieves around every street corner, and worse beyond that. Fresh out of breath, Touya placed his hands on a wall to catch himself, knees buckling underneath the weight. He slid down the brick wall in the dimmed alleyway, scooping his knees up to his chest. He was alone, a bit scared, and heartbroken. His eyes fell shut, and his head rolled onto his knees. Before he knew it, Touya had passed out, with one thing on his mind: y/n.

Endeavor’s complexity and why it has become such an issue
As those who have decided to read this have likely already gathered. This is a bit of analyse on a character who has become quite controversial among the fan base of My Hero Academia. Endeavor is a character who is much more complex than you would imagine when he is first introduced. I want to get a little more into why this is and why it seems to be so upsetting to certain readers.
Upon his introduction Endeavor is shown as little more than a terrible husband and father. He neglected most of his children and put his youngest child through brutal training that would have been more in place in ancient Sparta rather than modern Japan. His wife suffered emotional, mental, physical abuse at his hands. These things are terrible and this is as far as many people who hate Endeavor get when examining him as a character. He is simply these past actions as far as they concerned.
I'll say it again, Endeavor’s abuse of his family is awful but there are other aspects of this character that people simply refuse to acknowledge. We get a small glance at this long before we really get an in depth look at him. First and foremost is the objective fact that, despite what he has done to his family, is an empirically proven force for good in the world. He has as a Pro Hero with the highest tally of resolved cases in history. That means he has resolved more cases than even All Might.
Now I know what some people will think “He’s a Pro Hero, of course he solves crimes and saves lives.” But that is kind of the point here. Enji’s ambition, drive, pride, anger and “win at all costs” attitude could have, and perhaps should have, driven him to the life of villian. Without the restrictions of law his potential to overtake All Might would have the possibility to increase. He even acknowledges this himself when he is fighting High-End
Tumblr media
So what kept him on the path of a hero? The answer is a combination of personal pride and the fact that he does, at his core, have some desire to good. This however is buried and covered up by rage and ambition and his single minded focus. Even his hero name is a nod to this obsession . His whole personality and life are based around surpassing All Might, but not just surpassing him he needs to do it legitimately.
This blind obsession turned him from man to monster. His treatment of his family was, in his mind, an acceptable price to pay for his ambition. His abuse is never seen to particularly hateful in nature. I will clarify what this means. Everything he did was a means to an end, we are not given the impression he enjoys what he does to his family but neither does care about the damage he has done. This in no way makes what he did any better, the abuse is just as bad as if he was doing it simply because he enjoy being cruel.
I will repeat myself, this in no way excuses what he did to his family, there is no good reason to EVER abuse anyone. But what this mean is that Enji, if granted clarity and a new perspective, he is more capable of personal growth than say characters like Ozai or Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender who both seemed to actively delight in their torment of others.
We see this moment of clarity with retirement of All Might. After he rages and destroys his training room he is struck with an epiphany. When he finally obtains his life's ambition, to surpass All Might, it is a bitter and hollow victory. He never cared about the title or prestige of being the number one hero, it was all about beating All Might. He was handed this win and this was the worst possible outcome for him. He is man who does not want anything handed to him and to have this just given to him was a wakeup call. He will never legitimately beat All Might and with that he realizes everything he put his family through simply was not worth it.
This change of heart begins to show almost immediately and we see it in several instances.
When he swallowed his pride and asked All Might for advice. This shows him changing from simply being a hero in title and profession to really trying to be a true hero.
He has made up his mind to try and be better and become a hero his son can be proud of.
He has been visiting his wife and he left the gift of a flower. I know people will say abusers will apologize and bring gifts to try and get back into their victims lives but this is different. It's not the gift itself that is important here but the fact that Enji remembers a specific detail mentioned only once over twenty years ago. But more than this show a genuine change as opposed to a superficial one for the public as no one, not even his children, knew he was making these visits. This was an act contrition.
Expanding on the previous point about visiting his wife. Rei knows he's visiting and states she isn't ready to see him yet and he does not seem to press the issue. While there is no direct proof, it seems as though Enji has accepted this and not trying to force his presence on her. This is a big shift from his previous domineering and controlling nature.
When Natsuo, justifiably, shouts at him Enji calmly stands there and accepts his son's rage, because he knows he's not wrong to be angry and to hate him.
Tumblr media
This change is genuine and despite what some may think it is not an act. I pointed this out in another post in how Horikoshi has changed how he draws Endeavor. This change is indicative of a genuine shift in character. It is something artist do across media. The artist makes the choice to represent a character with a softer design to give the reader a visual indicator of this shift.
Now I will address why this has become such an issue with some in the fanbase. Endeavor has been shown to be more than simply an abuser and this complexity confuses some people. This is not to say that just because Endeavor is complex you must like him. Some people will simply just never like the character be it for his past, their personal life experiences, or any reason at all and that is perfectly fine.
The issue I take is when these individuals start to inflict their rage about the character redemption at others.
Redemption arcs are always among the most popular in any series for the simple reason that it shows someone can be better than what they were. They can be better than their past crimes. This is why Endeavor has seen an increase in popularity as of late. But this redemption has caused a very ugly side of the fandom to crop up.
I don't care when people post hate about Endeavor as a character. He's a fictional character and nothing any fan does will ever harm him, or really affect how the author decides to handle the character. But when this rage crosses over into the real world and becomes directed at real people I start to take issue. There is no good reason to attack people on a personal level because of a view on a fictional character.
So why do these people feel the need to attack others? Again this is not about people who simply hate/dislike the character. Those who post hate about Endeavor but don't insult/attack other fans have actually managed to garner respect from myself for not making it personal. But why are others not able keep themselves from attacking others?
The answer is could be a few things but the most likely is that they can't handle the character complexity. They are unwilling or unable to see the other sides of a character, be it emotionally or mentally. They want a simple villain and don't want the see the grey areas of the character. Endeavor has done terrible things but he has also done a great many good things. They have decided to hate this character regardless of what happens as he moves forward. To these people he will never be more than his past and don't care about his attempts to atone.
They will ignore that reconciliation is better than revenge. Forgiveness would help to heal the family. A better Endeavor is better for everyone in his life and they refuse to see that because of their feelings on the character.
