Former Minister of State Tracy Taegar-Panton has denied the existence of a "definitive agreement" for the Port of Magical/Portico project under the former UDP administration in Belize.

Reports had surfaced that the project had received such a deal, but former Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte stated that no such deal had been recommended or approved by the cabinet's investment committee or his ministry. Panton, who chaired the committee, stated that she had not seen or approved any such deal. The Portico project, which received an environmental impact assessment under the current Briceño government, is one of three competing interests in the area near Belize City.

I've got the BIGGEST mixed feelings about Legends Z-A's unspecified month 2025 release date.

My brain is going: Ah yes. Smart decision. This is great. Gives them more development time. Let them cook. :)

But my heart, upon hearing that I won't be able to play a brand new Pokémon game this year, not a main series game, spinoff or a DLC, for the first time ever, is going:

So for those of you who haven't seen the news about Unity, they're going to be charging developers a fee of up to $0.20 per installation of the game (this varies by which version of Unity you are using, and isn't implemented until a threshold is met).

This is a huge blow for the indie video game industry.

Hell, freaking Pokémon Go is made using Unity.

By charging this fee, a lot of studios are going to suffer. Games are going to be lost. Cult of the Lamb will no longer be for sale as of January. The studios who will remain will be the ones with the money. It's going to be harder for people to get a foot into the development industry.

okey so i've figured out why green hud has mild issues with cornbread's texture fixer. the good news: it's super easy to fix. the bad news: the issue is with texture fixer.

for context, currently, with green hud v1.0.1 (default subpack) over cornbread's texture fixer v0.5.0, certain icons in the dressing room will turn green when their buttons are hovered over. i didn't notice the icons getting tinted because with cornbread's texture fixer over vanilla, the icons are tinted white, so they just look normal.

i've managed to make it so that this issue doesn't happen with just green hud, but the green hud + texture fixer combo is still broken.

it's not a big enough deal for me to release a hotfix, but it is a compatibility issue, which i don't want, and will be fixed sometime before texture fixer's full release, whenever that is. green hud's default subpack is already buggy as shit so it's probably fine for now.

the long-cancelled GBA prototype game developed by Halfbrick in 2003 called "Fuzz & Rocket" was released and put onto the Internet Archive recently!!!

according to this archive, it's a build from January of 2005, a few months before its very last appearance at E3 2005. the amount of cool lost media that's getting found recently is insane and Fuzz & Rocket getting found certainly wasn't on my bingo card for 2024! very cool!!

okay this is going to piss off every single esports and competitive gaming nerd ever, but, i have Takes on potential improvements to FPS game design (although to be fair this is more about story-based games than competitive multiplayer) basically, most games already try to increase immersion with things like weapon sway and view bobbing and such but what if we added aim assist to enhance it further? now yes that sounds ridiculous at first but hear me out having the gun fixed to always aim at the exact centre of the screen, that being essentially directly in front of your head from the perspective of the character feels a bit.. weird, and game-y, unless you're aiming down sights so what if instead the centre of the screen had a circular or elliptical area around the centre, in which the crosshair is guided towards the enemy closest to the centre, to simulate the character aiming slightly to the side? especially if the weapon model is rotated to match the same system could be used for interacting with things, because like, nobody looks directly at a light switch to press on it, etc., and it'd also make the game more playable on a controller another possible idea would be having it be a gradient, where the character's aim gets worse the more off-centre the aimed-at enemy is, and if you focus and point directly at enemies your aim improves in general i feel like all options for more immersion aren't explored enough in part due to a focus on conforming to the desires of competitive gaming
